2141  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos is taking illegal ads from a ponzi scheme - MakeBtc.org on: March 07, 2014, 06:51:50 PM
I think it is pretty funny how people are defending the right of this forum to promote fraud and mislead people.  Given the fact that fraud, hacking, and ponzis are already systematic in bitcoin - you'd think people wouldn't want to encourage them.

It's all fine and good until you lose your own money - just see all the people who lost money on MtGox.
it's hardly misleading or fraudulent when the ad clearly states it's a ponzi.

Quote
fraud: Any act of deception carried out for the purpose of unfair, undeserved and/or unlawful gain.
no deception here Roll Eyes
How can you be stupid enough to invest in a ponzi and then blame whoever linked it for your stupidity? What the hell.
2142  Economy / Goods / Re: buy beef with bitcoins on: March 07, 2014, 06:01:50 PM
so much scammers on this site and when they start the thread off like this with no info at all just email me im pretty sure this is gonna be a scam well see
Hah I guess you're right, he should've bloody answered by now if he tried to run a serious bussiness.
2143  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos is taking illegal ads from a ponzi scheme - MakeBtc.org on: March 07, 2014, 05:26:04 PM
That is the "I'm not guilty because I didn't know it was against the law" argument. It's like saying "I didn't know the white powder was an illegal drug".  Good luck with that one.

And for $1000 of advertising, he could spare 1 hour to investigate it.
The problem is when a mod checks out an offer that later turns out to be a scam. Then everyone will be mad because they had an expectation that the adds are vetted. You just have to do your homework here.

Hint: Anything except buying bitcoin at market price should be considered a scam, IMO.
Why would you expect that the ads are for 100% legitimate sites when the disclaimer 5 milimeters below it tells you that it might not be?
Gee wiz.
2144  Economy / Services / Re: NEW! bitcoin-scratchticket.com | Earn up to 0.1 BTC / Month | Up-front payment on: March 07, 2014, 12:49:16 PM
OP, I don't think you can get a good effect if you don't give up the 50 posts/week requirement.

The Bitmixer ad is popular not just because it pays automatically, but also because it has no posts amount requirement per week at all.

A full member like me can get 0.002ish BTC per week, and has to contribute 50 posts per week. But in some other ad campaigns, he can get 0.01 BTC for that 50 posts(like this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=498314.0 ).

tk;dr: you are gonna pay some ad fee but will lose a lot of advertisers if you don't abandon the 50 posts per week requirement.

If i have to do 50 post per week PD signature are much more worth it .. its 0.015 for 50 post

Thanks for the great feedback.

One problem is that people abuse the system and ruin the opportunity for others. So we have to be careful how we design it. For instance, people will come, take the advanced payment with no intention of keeping the signature. This takes money away from the program that could otherwise be used to raise the payment to legit folks.

If we were to have no minimum post per week, and an individual makes no posts, what is the value of the signature to us? Keep in mind we have to generate a profit in order to pay out the signature program.

Our program is just a week old now, and I am evaluating click throughs, new registrations, etc. to see how things balance out cost wise. Most likely I will be making some adjustments to the program in the next week or so. Adjustments will take into account all feedback we have received, for which I am grateful.

People are rational, they switch to higher payment program for the same work.

You won't get any signatures if you fail to understand that.

People are free to be rational (and should be). However, if someone accepts an up front payment for a signature space for 1 week without any intention of maintaining the signature throughout the week, they are stealing - no other way to look at it. Of course, such an individual could always return the money, if they had a conscience. Fortunately for us and the program as a whole, there have been only a few bad apples, which I guess speaks highly for the ethics of most people.

That's the risk of upfront payments. It will definitely make more people interested but it makes the system very easy to abuse for your own benefit.

@Saif92 , I Just need 8 More Activity Sad ,
I Active Every Days In This Forum
but activity is now going to increase on 18 or 19 and pay day is 17 March just because of this Stunna will not pay you
Yup, you will not get paid at the 17th, your activity will still be 42.
Rules are rules. I myself asked when I had 42 activity if I could join via PM, but just got the response "you can join when you've 50+".
2146  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Gambling Project on: March 07, 2014, 12:33:28 PM
Does anyone who has used this so far have any concerns about payments, trust etc?
2147  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mtgox on: March 07, 2014, 12:17:54 PM
Ok, but if I would like to buy new btc on another exchange (who?), what I should have to do 1 second after I've purchased btcs?

Don't treat Exchanges like banks. Banks are for fiat currencies, USD, GBP, JPY, etc. You do not need a bank for BTC.

Transfer the coins to your own wallet on your own computer, be your own bank.

This this and this again!
And again, and again.
There is absolutely no reason to store your BTCcoins online, it just adds a risk of losing everything like you seemingly did.
I recommend multibit as your own wallet, or the official client.
2148  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos is taking illegal ads from a ponzi scheme - MakeBtc.org on: March 07, 2014, 12:12:35 PM
Also, if you don't like the banner and you're using adblock, just right click it and block it, and perhaps set a filter for all of those banners on this website.
2149  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos is taking illegal ads from a ponzi scheme - MakeBtc.org on: March 07, 2014, 12:11:51 PM
Dude, did you even read the disclaimer below the ad?
You don't have to click it, you don't have to use ponzis.
Every sensible person know there's a risk with ponzis
just like gambling.
2150  Other / Meta / Re: Increasing my signature space on: March 07, 2014, 12:09:55 PM
You've 56 activity and you're a junior member.
The primedice banner fits in your signature, altho you probably need to erase the last letters that don't fit, but the signature works.
Copy it into your sig space, check if it looks good, change it a bit if it doesn't.
2151  Economy / Services / Re: 0.002 BTC For your Signature. Limited!!! BitcoinLiveBets.com on: March 07, 2014, 12:03:44 PM
posting to receive my .002 thanks
Did they actually pay you? Thread is kinda inactive at the moment.
Was wondering whether it would be worth it.
They are paying last pay was on 2 March mostly giving once in a week or after 15 days but paying its sure  Wink
Well OP states they're paying in advance? To me that means everyone gets paid when they sign up.
2152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price at end of 2014? on: March 07, 2014, 10:35:24 AM
I think it will go up to $2k around February, slowly decreasing to $1k and have another bubble beginning in October up to $3k.
By the end of 2014 we should be at $1.5k-$1.7k. We will not see crazy rallies as for the past years anymore
If LTC is introduced in gox, add $500 to the numbers above

what a difference two months make Smiley
Haha, I love the quote about LTC and Gox.
2153  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Top bitcoin website - for sale on: March 07, 2014, 10:34:28 AM
Not enough info by far. How many visitors per month? Only tells us how much the current owner makes per month, altho we don't know about his advertising deals etc. "1st site on yahoo and bing", but no information about the real search engine ( google ). I doubt anyone that's into bitcoin uses -anything- else than google when it comes to the ordinary internet.
Consider adding more relevant information to catch the interest of potential buyers.

2155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to call 0.001 BTC? (5 BTC Bounty) on: March 07, 2014, 10:24:40 AM
We all agree that 1 Bitcoin = 100,000,000 Satoshis

I propose:

100 Satoshis = 1 Earth Federation Space Credit (or just Credit for short)

1000 Credits = 1 Dorian

1000 Dorians = 1 Bitcoin

1000 Bitcoins = 1 Large

1000 Large = 1 Rock (Satoshi's estimated fortune?)

21 Rocks = all of Bitcoin ever

How about…
No.
I don't see this catching on, but thanks for trying to contribute.
Wink
2156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: In specific terms, what is the best way to safely store Bitcoins? on: March 07, 2014, 10:21:58 AM
Never store any amounts online.
I still don't get why -so- many people do it. It's like asking to get goxxed.
2157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for bitcoin friends on facebook :) on: March 07, 2014, 10:14:49 AM
This 'facebook user' has uploaded nearly 300 photos of all on the same day and all of themself! Either selfies or someone else taking the photo. The vast majority have only the girl in the picture. No timeline before 2 days ago when they started this post.

If this isnt a fake account then the girl in question would be rather narcissistic IMO - I mean who takes that many pictures of themselves all in one go doing different poses??

hm....I guess you are right...
This is probably a fake account, and OP pretends to be a narcissistic girl lol.
I lol'd. Perhaps he just wants friends he can show his fake pictures to and get complimented! Smiley
2158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Invest]-=Gamblex=- Multicurrency Gambling/Exchange Hybrid (Free Shares) on: March 07, 2014, 10:14:09 AM
I would not advertise my games as "addictive".
To be fair it gives the wrong impression of gambling sites.
2159  Economy / Services / Re: [WANTED] BitCoinTalk HTML Ad Design on: March 07, 2014, 10:12:41 AM
Looks like this was a hit and run. In the end he just made his own ad copying the bitmixer code and changing text and colors.
:/
Yup, then again he was a ponzi owner, what did you expect? Smiley
None of them can be trusted, it's a scam scheme made by scammers to fool stupids.
These people have most likely never paid for anything they could steal in their entire life.
2160  Economy / Goods / Re: buy beef with bitcoins on: March 07, 2014, 10:09:42 AM
Uhm, seems like we lack a bit of information regarding this beef in this thread. Mind being a bit more specific about what it is, how it's produced, perhaps some pictures of your animal's living conditions, the end product, shipping information, proof about the quality, etc.
Nobody will just buy meat from someone like this, lol.
