Namecoin pretty much died after it was more profitable to mine BTC. It was attacked by Satoshi complex personalities ( ArtForz, lolcust, BitcoinExpress, SAC, Tycho, MarkKarpeles etc. ) because it posed a threat to Bitcoin just like Fairbrix was attacked because it posed a threat to Tenecrapix.

Blocks/hour   4.97 / 724 s

From bitcoincharts.... that's not good, that is ~12 minute block times now, one would hope it doesn't get too much worse or bitcoin will begin approaching un-usability.

Well, Solidcoin is always ready for a bitcoin collapse so no problems there Grin !
2644  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Best mobo, graphic card, power supply, etc..using 6990s on: October 08, 2011, 07:22:19 PM
WOW if you are considering starting mining at this point in time then you might as well donate the money to charity mate. You are only going to fail. Mining has had its time. All my rigs are off and I am still losing money as the hardware depreciates. DON'T buy mining rigs right now. You have been warned !
2645  Economy / Speculation / Re: What I'd do now on: October 08, 2011, 07:20:02 PM
Think what if price drops to 0.1 or mtgox gets "hacked" which is much more probable than bitcoins rising to 10000 USD etc.

More likely if $ volume goes to the point where current and future operations are unlikely to result in any net profit -- claim to be hacked, keep the $, close up shop.  It's a completely opaque operation with no accountability and one guy running the show.  What would YOU do for a few hundred thousand dollars in your pocket weighed vs mounting losses for continuing operations?

That's what I suspect happened to bitcoin7.  Look to moonco.in and Bruce Wagner for other data points.

Hehe nice one. Bet he is packing up right now and buying a house in Hawaii.  I'm not even joking the guy can run away at any time now.
2646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 Public Beta on: October 08, 2011, 07:12:42 PM
I find it extremely disturbing how people jump in to mine without having the source or even knowing the generation algorithm. It's like an early adopter mental disorder or something.

Reading the source is a terribly inefficient way of checking for backdoors. Unless you *really* know what to look for, you could read source code 100 times and never realise that there was a backdoor in it.

You can learn a lot more far more quickly about how secure / full of trojans / likely to open up backdoors a program is by running it in a Virtual Machine and inspecting what it does while running.

But of course you know this. These accusations are simply FUD, anyone with half a brain can see that.

He may not know what to look for, but I do. If I were to find something, I could post the filename, the line number, and why it is a problem. Then others can validate what I posted. Then you would have a measure of confidence that there was a problem. I couldn't prove the code to be secure, but I would have the opportunity to prove the code to be insecure (if any flaws exist). It is the difference between "evidence of absence" and "absence of evidence". Security through obscurity mistakes one for the other.

Just as an aside, I wouldn't activate any trojans until after a cooling off period has expired. Gotta suck in the fish before you pull the net closed.  Wink REAL SMART MAN !!!
2647  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sentiment on: October 08, 2011, 07:10:42 PM
Hashing power on deepbit starting to fall perceptibly.  We may be at a turning point of the bitcoin community going from bull (or closet bull) to bear.

We'll also get to see if the same dynamics which drove a positive feedback loop of price/difficulty during the rocket ride up are also going to work in reverse.  We're less than a buck or so price swing from very, very exciting times for many.

The long awaited capitulation may soon be at hand.  Good thing, I'm so tired of beating the "sell" drum over the past 4 months, I am more than ready to be a bull again.

Blah blah blah Bitcoin is for sharing as a tool. Stop trading it for other tools and fucking use it.

Nobody use it because it is USELESS internet fairy money that speculators make it look like it was worth 30$ but now the real price of it is going to be shown ! that is <1$. My bet is 0.1 USD before 1 december.

'BUY BUY BUY" or "SELL SELL SELL" ?

https://i.imgur.com/3xMUf.jpg

If I were you I would sell like CRAZY. 152 000 USD would buy you a lot of things. Bitcoin price will only fall and fall. Bubble burst in June. Only thing that will happen is price drops to level it takes to make them eg <$1. Don't get greedy. Think what if price drops to 0.1 or mtgox gets "hacked" which is much more probable than bitcoins rising to 10000 USD etc.

bulanula, Ten wasn't even responding to me Cheesy

Or is John me now, too Roll Eyes

Like I said, I am quite sure that nothing foul is going on, but that makes concealment of sources even more pointless and perplexing...

I think you already know the reason for witholding the source prior to release, and I think we both know why you are the loudest voice demanding it.

Care to share that with us !? I honestly don't know the reason.

He has found a new way of trolling SC2. He just scared that his crapixtenescam is going to end before he gets the chance to dump 7.7 mils of scamcoins. Just wait and see which one wins SC2 or tenecrapixfailbrix.

Thank you !

More BS from lolcust. Why not supporting Intel CPUs on Windows !? Or at least Intel CPUs on Linux. Why so AMD biased Huh

I did give you instructions on how to compile TBX miner with maximum optimization for intel, any luck?

And, TBX's performance on intel really has nothing to do with purely academic inquiry into the reasons for withholding the sources.

Yes, just did not have enough time to try it out BUT I bet my 2600K with 8 threads < crappy AMD Phenom II with 6 cores so I'm like OMG WTF BBQ switching to SC2 dont care about anything but the $$$ it makes me.
2654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Somebody is spamming Twitter with Bitcoin on: October 08, 2011, 06:42:45 PM
There's been a few hundred tweets with "Bitcoin" in the past few minutes from various generated accounts...

I'm not sure if somebody tries to get the price up or further down with such desperate measures Wink

Idiots thinking they can bring the price up now with this total flipping BS. Price is doomed. Cannot wait for 0.1 USD prices !

So now people are resorting to SINGING to prevent this train crash !?

This forum is LOL OVERLOAD right now. Good luck. See you at <$1 and 7200 BTC pumped every day but nobody wants to buy them anymore and early adopters cashing out too.

Little known fact - exchanges either don't want to bother with "neocoins" at all, or they require the coin "author" (or whomever contacts them) to provide a liquidity boost.

Liquidity boost sizes provided to btc-e are published on their website in the "opening exchange on pair X news"

Can you clarify what this means?
E.g. on TBX/BTC it says

"Exchange received a bonus at the address 5000 TBX tPrATxxGCNsWrJ1bdzBE8Gw6pxrXsHiv8p"

Does it mean you/someone gave e-btc.com 5000 TBX as a fee, for them to open up the exchange? Or am I misunderstanding?

Nope. You got that right !
2660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoin v2.0 Public Beta on: October 08, 2011, 05:37:15 PM
Well one thing is interesting to me. What algo is this using say compared to TBX !? Is this GPU proof ? No mention of algo used anywhere.

The algo in SC2 is custom-designed by CoinHunter.

So far, no whitepapers have been published and no peer review of the algo has taken place.

No details have been released as to its structure and operation, to the best of my knowledge.

Well ATM custom designed sounds MUCH better than your tenecrapix copycat of scrypt that favours amd processor crap !!! SC2 is pretty good now. Can't wait for final thing.

If I mine some coins now do they get carried on when final thing is up ?
OK that's a bit unusual to say unless you really don't know what you are talking about
Your saying an undocumented, unknown algorithm "sounds MUCH better than" another that is documented, source available and anyone can see it.
Hmm - interesting - I wonder why someone would say anything that silly ...

Well it is easier to damn copy and paste than write your own thing from the ground up. Respect to CH !

ArtForz and lolcust are just AMD holding / biased copy and pasters. Good luck. TBX price already 0.0099 which is damn nice. Hoping it falls to 0.0000 as everyone realises your scam. Satoshi ( same people as ArtForz and lolcust etc. ) scam also coming to an end. Price tanking. These people must be long on AMD stock right now. No wonder both bitcoin and tenecrapix is made for amd silicon.

Why no Intel and Nvidia love from both bitcoin and tenecrapix !? Because they are made by same person who is probably AMD employee or holds loads of AMD stock etc.
