1781  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970's in the mail.....anyone used with GUIminer yet? on: January 19, 2012, 04:21:20 PM
They wont work with GUIminer.....but they absolutely rage with Diablo.

I am at 1.2 GH/s with 2 of them.....1000 Mhz core
Someone got them to 666mhash each Grin

Can't remember who it was but some dude got them at around 720 or 700 mhash/s !

But then the power consumed makes your MH/W ratio suck !
1782  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $700 (was $500) — Butterflylabs, is it for real? (Part 2) on: January 19, 2012, 04:07:18 PM
Please keep throwing the FUD around so I can mine with my singles at 10Mh per watt while the rest of you fight over who is more right about how BFL is a scam, they won't deliver, they fucked up, blah, blah, blah, blah.

I hope I own 200 singles and a couple rig boxes before you guys are done.

So many people are 100% convinced that this is real while so many other people are 100% convinced it is a scam.

Hmmm, who to believe ?
1783  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is this for real? on: January 19, 2012, 11:13:29 AM
seems pretty legit  Grin

About as legit as my new Pope coins...if you mine enough you go to heaven...or you can buy some from me Smiley

Yeah we need a new scamchain to prey on the religous fools around the place.

Soon, I am starting AllahCoins. In 4-6 weeks Wink they will be ready for buying !

Blue Hedge = scam. 9% interest = LOL !
1784  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: January 19, 2012, 10:59:30 AM

Thanks, I managed to fix this. Turns out X was outputting through a different GPU. Now it's mining, but 3 of my cards are only about 50% load... Aggression is set at 14, any ideas?

How did you manage to fix it ?

It seems I am having the same issue. Black screen and CTRL ALT F1 does nothing and neither is num lock working.
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will shutdown Realcoin on: January 19, 2012, 09:53:59 AM
Bad news for Realcoin if BigCPUminer and BitcoinEXpress join forces to stomp this into Coiledcoin territoty LOL

For once BCX does something worthwhile.

If you manage to shut down this scam, I congratulate you 100% !
1786  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PCI-E 7 slot expansion board on: January 19, 2012, 09:40:35 AM
I really don't know what to do guys, LOL.

Should I buy this ?

I think this is quite good where prices of 2*5870 << price of 5970 ?
1787  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $700 (was $500) — Butterflylabs, is it for real? (Part 2) on: January 19, 2012, 09:39:31 AM
To put things in perspective,

Look at the Raspberry Pi project, its supposed to be shipping in Nov 2011. However, after few delays, they're still not able to ship the products. They just got a contract with a manufacture oversea and will ship the product in Feb. Yet, they dont receive a single negative comment or feedback. Why? simple.... no BS claim, no preorder crap and certainly open to anyone (you can see every single components being used, not some secret BS)

However, ppl in Bitcoin community can be fooled and blind to give BLF some free interest loan. Another fool is willing to do their PR work.

Exactly. Until we actually see a forum review all this ( even the singles ) is total speculation to me.

LOL I actually thought plastic.elastic was Inaba back there Wink

Inaba, how did you get hired as BFL's PR guy ? Can I also apply as I need some cash too Grin ?
1788  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $700 (was $500) — Butterflylabs, is it for real? (Part 2) on: January 18, 2012, 10:53:46 PM
How can the lead time be the same for a completely undesigned and untested device be the same as one that is already on the production line and due to hit the shelves in a week?
Heh, I'll bet that if anyone actually purchased the Rig Box, they would drop EVERYTHING, including the singles, to do whatever they were/are planning to do with it. (Make something, abscond, buy a car, etc)

The rig box does not have an ETA. The Singles are 4-6 weeks from time of order; the rig box has no such wording on their order page.

I emailed them on Dec 16th about the rig box and got these replies same day:

Quote
Hi Mel.  I just got done speaking with someone else who asked the very same question.  Rig Box orders placed today have an expected delivery of 8 weeks.

Kind regards,
Sonny K
BF Labs Inc.

Quote
The pre-order period will end on public demonstration of the production Rig Box units. Sounds a bit dodgy to me !? First get the fools to pay up for a special price then demo the unit publicly ( which may never happen as they have ran off with 25k easily ) Shocked  The price will go up at that point by a margin not yet determined.

Regards,
Sonny K
BF Labs Inc.

Quote
I think you wanted to know *when* that will be.  Early February. Thought this was before the end of January !?!? Angry

Kind regards,
Sonny K
BF Labs Inc.

Quite revealing ! Thank you very much !
1789  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1GH/s, 20w, $700 (was $500) — Butterflylabs, is it for real? (Part 2) on: January 18, 2012, 08:50:37 PM

Everyone who mines has a vested interest in a game-changing device such as BFL is claiming to release...

I wouldn't use so dramatic a term for it but, for some people, yes. The BFL product is most advantageous for those with high electricity costs and/or logistical issues with GPU mining side-effects. After all, any efficient GPU has 2x the hashrate/$ ratio as the BFL (5970: $300@800Mhash. BFL: $600@800Mhash. Replace '5970' with 5870, or 5850 or 5830, and the same ratio applies).

You can find used/refurb 5830's for $75 now and they will get ~275Mhash; that's almost a 3x better Mhash/$ ratio than BFL. Yes, I realize that over the longer term (the exact length of that term will be different for everyone) the lower electricity costs of the FPGA will overtake the initial cost savings of the GPU ... but I'm putting that aside for now.

In my case my GPUs run in my home; I've reached the point where I cannot add any more mining capacity without compromising comfort (heat, noise). These BFL boxes will (a) let me add a bit more capacity; and/or (b) replace some GPU capacity with FPGA.

If I had the option of running my GPU rigs outside my living spaces, I'd pick up more cheap GPUs, not BFL Singles, simply because of (a) the lower up-front capital outlay for GPUs; (b) the expected higher resale value of GPUs; (c) the better warranty of GPUs; and (d) my low electrical rate.

Everyone should run their own 'cost/benefit' analysis before deciding what is best for them. I'm sure the BFL boxes will be popular with many people, but they won't be for everyone. Once I see they are shipping and have read some positive reviews, I will buy up one or two myself just to see how well they would work for me.

YMMV.

Thank you for this Epoch. I have now realized that BFL is not an option for people like me with tons of electricity and space !
1790  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PCI-E 7 slot expansion board on: January 18, 2012, 03:42:53 PM
I'd have to consider putting something like that at the end of a 16x extender cable. Just attach that extender of their's into the expansion board and run the cable to it. You might have a slight clearance issue to consider with extender cable though. But that is easily remedied with either plcing the mobo on a shelf just below this unit with a 'slot' in the shelf for the cable.

I like the pic he has, showing it mining almost 2GH at Deepbit, presumably using this board.

Yeah and that way you can also place the eight GPU on the normal mobo position and have any type of CPU cooler you need !!!

I just hope this is legit because I need several Grin
1791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RELEASE] Liquidcoin (Speculation based) on: January 18, 2012, 12:28:56 PM
This thing isn't real scrypt, right? Its the deliberately bastardised pretend/fake scrypt deliberately nerfed for the convenience of botnets who are using other people's computers without their permission thus need to try to conceal the fact they are running?

How large a botnet are you running anyway, and why do you need a new coin to run on it, isn't litecoin already tuned ideally for botnet use?

-MarkM-

It is good to see that at least some of us here have the guts to say it like it really is.

Well done markm and screw all these botnet operators getting bored with LTC.
1792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I will shotdown Liquidcoin on: January 18, 2012, 11:50:23 AM
Liquidcoin have to be opensource from day 0. Otherwise I will fight against them with my CPU power and I will wipe them out.

Please shut down the scam !!! I beg you.

I am being serious all these scams are just making BTC seem like a community of pyramids, ponzis and pump and dumpers !

On another note, I think you are trolling us big time. Show some proof of your botnet and also take in mind the fact that LiquidCoin has open source but RealCoin does not.

"I will shotdown Liquidcoin" Grin LOL
1793  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PCI-E 7 slot expansion board on: January 18, 2012, 11:18:57 AM
This is the HOLY GRAIL for people like me without access to dual GPUs like 5970 and access to single GPUs like 5870 !

God, I hope somebody gets one here so we can see if this is legit and works properly !

8 single GPUs on a rig + this baby > 4 dual GPUs on a rig

in terms of heat produced and probably price too ( dual GPU is very expensive for some ) !
1794  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PCI-E 7 slot expansion board on: January 18, 2012, 10:54:40 AM
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=14062839037

I'm very interested in this item, but I have no clue on how to decipher how much it actually costs, or how to even buy one. Maybe someone here can sell one to me?

WOW. Somebody gotta try this mofo out.

This can solve all my problems LOL. Screw the extenders !

How much does it cost ? Can it be trusted ?

We need some Chinese people here to help us translate !

As far as I can see it costs about 150 GBP shipped to the UK which is quite nice but I don't think it will work without many stales or something.

Someone needs to try it out for us if possible.

I can already see some problems with the CPU cooler placement ( need to get me a LP one then ) and the board flexing under heavy GPU weight and also problems with the connector to the MB location.

Also why not 8 connectors instead of 7 ? Maybe I can attach the eight board via the standard mobo with extenders ?

Also see that it has 2 onboard PCIe power 6 pin connectors which is VERY nice to supply the power to the PCIe slots ! Screw powered extenders and all that BS.

Get a board like this and you can easily put 8 * 5870s on one mobo with just 1 extender !!!

God, I hope this is real ! I will buy one ASAP if someone tests it and shows us it is geniune. I wonder why the designer guy does not post on here to advertise his product ? Maybe fake ?

I sure hope it is real !!!

So, when are these expected to ship?

Hey, look on the bright side of life :

it's probably 4-6 weeks again Cheesy
1796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RELEASE] Liquidcoin (Speculation based) on: January 18, 2012, 09:11:55 AM
We need an exchange guys Cheesy

Can't be LiquidCoin without any exchanges right ?

I didn't think it would be possible for someone to come up with something worse than ScamCoin but they did.

Strange thing is the website looks just like LTC website too !

Anyway, I think RealCoin is the best thing since sliced bread, really. It is going to solve global warming and female infertility all in one !

How can I become a fund director ?

Forget Bitcoin, use a RealCoin !

"Important : The RealCoin is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme or a Ponzi scheme"
1799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] RealCoin - Targeted to the IM world! on: January 17, 2012, 04:00:35 PM
Well i guess you could simply scan the OP once more to see where all the fiat currency will go.

As i explained, the fiat currency will be used as a "reserve" as well as a funding source for businesses within the RLC network as well as businesses that have been developed around the BTC network.

As for rest 2,1 mil RLC:

1) 1,05 mil RLC will go towards continuous development of the RLC client

2) 1,05 mil RLC will go towards the founders and investors ( i am not the only one, i am just well know in some forums and was chosen to promote RLC ) to hedge the risk taken. These RLC will be used for numerous everyday life costs. Also these 1,05 mil RLC is what will give RLC its initial exchange price since a little more than $10k were spent on this project.

About the exchange, well we do have to start from somewhere, dont we? After the initial distribution has been down then any exchange can simply add RLC to their inventory.

The plan has been carefully laid out and there are several things that will make RLC different.

IMHO, a lot more currencies need to be created with different targets, goals to see and choose the best in the future.

You really expect us to believe this, right ? Total BS. Spending 10k for an altchain = LOL.

Hopefully the mining Fuhrer will come along and close this sham just like CLC.
1800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] RealCoin - Targeted to the IM world! on: January 17, 2012, 03:42:10 PM
I don't see anything that couldn't be done with bitcoins. There's no USP in this alt currency like in namecoin. It seems just like another alt currency with premined coins.

You're building exchanges around it.
You're building merchant integration around it.
You're bilding a faucet.
You're buidling escrow services around it.

All these things could be established with bitcoin too. Namecoin offers something unique, a new way of DNS. What is your USP?

Why another alt chain?

They can't get rich quick with Bitcoin?

Come on D&T, I think we all know that this ISN'T just another pump and dump get rich quick scheme !

This coins will solve world hunger and get rid of the USD, GBP, EUR, YEN etc. forever !
