The site itself isn't the issue (I trust Dooglus immensely). It's CLAM.

One thing I like about JD/clam is that there's virtual zero chance, or incentive for a big-exit scam. That's in comparison to most bitcoin investment sites, were there's strong financial incentives to do it.

Dooglus will probably hate me for saying this, but I see just-dice investing/clams as an epic version of bustabit. You can buy-in (polo), or claim the faucet (dig) and now the goal is to hold on (invest) while making phenomenal returns. You can cashout anytime, or risk the giant bust Cheesy

Yeah, I feel like I should have exited when they jumped up to 15-16 mBTC each (now they're back at 4). Could have re-bought at the bottom again.
2782  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Loanbase.com - Scam or legit ? on: October 13, 2015, 09:12:42 PM
this is the renamed site of btclendingclub
i used to received notifications from them
their requirements for loan is outrageous

Oh right , I just saw the backlinks to articles for CoinNewsMagazine & Coindesk still , I don't know both of them so .. if anyone could give me more info about this BitcoinLendingClub , I would really appreciate it .
What do you mean by outrageous ? what do they ask you exactly so you get a loan ; Please don't tell me it's worst then BTCJam for what comes to the informations part .
One example of an outrageous requirement is that they will ask you to send them a picture of you holding an identification card, the identification card must be readable as well. so just imagine that your holding your drivers license right below your chin and that your name and address in the identification card should be clear. You need a good DSLR for that.

I like that requirement. I'd require a lot more than that to invest in a business, and if I did a personal loan I'd absolutely need to know that information because I'd have to pursue the funds if they weren't repaid as agreed.

2) That previous ownership bolded above may be cancelled by a rest period? I mean how long is your memory: 1 month, two months or forever?

Our memory is as long as we judge it to be needed, at our sole discretion.

This is a bit iffy. Someone could be doing account farming, and end up with 5+ people on the same table that bought accounts from them.
2784  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: [ANN] MinerFarm - Virtual Mining Game for Real Bitcoin on: October 13, 2015, 07:44:46 PM
Wait, so if you buy a tech., you're paying a fee on it forever, even if it's not being used?
Yes even if it's not being used as stated on the game itself: When a new block found, a cost of 0.00000700 BTC for each employee is collected however this is not suitable if you have smaller GH/s on your account that's why there also the option of renting others technician for an hour for a smaller fee and then you don't have to pay any other fee other than the rent fee for the technician (good for 1 hour)

This explains why the rental costs are going up. People have to recoup their fees PLUS the cost for the tech itself.
2785  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: [ANN] MinerFarm - Virtual Mining Game for Real Bitcoin on: October 13, 2015, 07:06:20 PM
if i buy tech its permanent or not??
Yes, each technician worker would be permanently yours after purchasing one and as result there's a fee for the tech itself upon finding of each block in the game

Wait, so if you buy a tech., you're paying a fee on it forever, even if it's not being used?

Can someone share some quick financials? Mainly:

1) Cost per share (latest I saw was ~1 mBTC)
2) Historical/estimated ROI per month/year

I've owned HLFTC shares for about a year and a half, fiat wise I've just about broke even (LTC was $10+ when I invested), but in terms of Litecoin its been a fantastic investment (recouped more than initial investment in dividends, share price is up ~8x).

Very nice! Where are they traded now? I've been trying to visit the Litecoininvest page since yesterday and it's always offline.

I think they got beaten to the punch by these guys https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-intersect/wp/2015/09/30/everyone-you-know-will-be-able-to-rate-you-on-the-terrifying-yelp-for-people-whether-you-want-them-to-or-not/ it is sort of the same idea but more fine tuned and with a better "hook"

everyone says it will be hated, but that just tells me it will be a massive hit. the people want nasty, peeple app is gonna give it to them... itsa selfie is just tinder swiping... not as interesting as rating the entire person/personality

That one's a lot more featured, but think of it like this. FB and Twitter allow status updates, and FB does a lot more. People still use Twitter, though, because it's quick and easy.

IN THE HEAT OF THE BTCATTLE OF CASINOS ( 1 DAY GO TO), BETTERBETS JUST HIT ANOTHER MILESTONE YESTERDAY OVER 2000+ BTC WAGERED IN 24 HOURS

I think it's pretty much over now. BB has such a large head start that Rollin.io will have a hard time keeping up now. Especially this close to the end.
2789  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: October 13, 2015, 07:00:31 PM
I have been keeping a close eye on nasty as well. it seems like one of the few, if not only "sustainable" btc investment opportunities. the payout is low, but reliable and it is run by trustworthy team. unfortunately i am no longer in any sort of position to take any chances on anything, but im watching and so far i must say they are commendable, especially considering the cess pool that is btc based investments.

+1, joined in before GLBSE went down and never had a single reason for doubt, his handling of that fiasco was exemplary. Not meaning to kiss arse here but if I ever bother figuring out how the trust thing works I'd add everything I could to his.

You just go to his trust list and give your review. But if you're not one of the core trust people (there's like 20-30) then others, sadly, won't see it.
2790  Economy / Securities / Re: creating altcoins - accepting investment/recruits - $5000+ a month on: October 13, 2015, 06:59:08 PM
In my own personal opinion, i think mod should ban this OP because since october 1st that his failed scam schemes fails he have refused to comment here but only check his btc address to see if there is any deposit  Grin Grin Grin

If they banned all the scammers, the forums would be almost empty. So good luck with that. Everyone has to do their own due diligence.

Is there any update on VPSs, such as pricing/configurations yet?

we added some server all got pre-soled before we add them to the website, we will add some more servers very soon.

Awesome to hear. That means the pricing is really good, Smiley. Looking forward to checking it out!
2792  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com :: The bitcoin gambling wallet on: October 13, 2015, 06:55:22 PM
yah i understand. but for me, usually i see them as seperate currency. so i try my best not to bother too much about the rate, like my net worth it is increasing or decreasing due to varies exchange rates, i will see as raising the amount of alt. i know it is not a wise move but sometime i put some $$ into an alt, i just let it be there and never convert back to fiat or btc.

Definitely an issue. Bitcoin is the only widely spread crypto, so everything else has to be denoted in BTC value. Because if you ever want to make an exit, you're converting to BTC (or to fiat, but that would be based on BTC's value as well).

Molloype on BetterBets is tearing the place apart! BetterBets has a pretty cool spyglass feature if you want to watch him in action. In the last 24h he's wagered 1794 BTC, and in the process made a profit of 18.94 BTC. We've paid 8.944 BTC to the app in commissions, which means investors have taken a -27.885 BTC hit from him (although slightly offset by some of the other action). Ouch.

Yeah I divested all and won't be investing again. Simply not worth the risk for such minimal returns.

Yeah, fair enough. I've lost 250 BTC in the last week bankrolling bustabit, taking 6 months of my income, so that +EV certainly doesn't come easy. But as people divest, it should increase the returns for people still in which I hope means it reaches a nice happy equilibrium. Also I think the vast majority of investors tend to over-invest, it really shouldn't an all-or-nothing proposition.

Moderation is key. I have a small percent of my holding invested in various sites. The only all in I have are DOGE at Peerbet and CLAM at JD. But that's because I just have them as speculative bets.

how well are these 2 site doing at the moment???

Peerbet is up about 48% in 13 months but value of Doge puts it in the negatives.

JD is up like 190% in a few months (I have about 3x starting amount).

Neither of these are representative of the future and both fluctuate.

understood. i am just looking to diversify my investment.

Keep in mind you add another layer of risk when dealing with alts, as well, so be careful.

yah but JD is something i quite trust last time. except peerbet which i never hear b4.

The site itself isn't the issue (I trust Dooglus immensely). It's CLAM. You need to keep in mind that BTC itself is risky. When you then move to an alt, you have an extra layer of risk (if BTC crashes, CLAM does. If CLAM crashes, BTC won't). So your risks are then:

1) The site
2) BTC
3) CLAM

Invest accordingly.

Can anyone explain why, for such a volatile area as BTC, the seats are going for what would take 20 years to ROI? This seems highly risky.

It is actually below 18 years using the last 9 weeks of data.  However, this period has been slow as we sold off equipment to upgrade to S7s.  We also have not had a great deal of silver sales during that period.  Once our new equipment is all running and the new 2oz coin is officially for sale, I suspect the weekly distributions will rise.

I also don't think there is anything similar in the Bitcoin world to compare to NastyFans.  3+ years of regular weekly BTC distributions is pretty much unheard of for any organization.  The impressive growth, proven longevity, and continued development is the reason why you see seats more closely tracking real world valuations then what you have seen in past BTC offerings.

There are also many opportunities for Bitcoin that have yet to be explored.  For example, I could see NastyFans infrastructure being very attractive to a large scale mining operation that was looking for an automated solution to distributing BTC and ownership stakes to their shareholders.  This could involve licensing agreements, or a buyout.  Not saying this is something that is actively being discussed, but there are several opportunities for increasing the BTC distributions that could come into play in the future.  Mergers with other organizations, development of new sources of donations such as faucets or advertising, new products and further development of the NastyFans credit system...  All good examples of why this shouldn't be valued the way you would value a time set cloud mining contract...

Great answer! I'll follow this for a while and keep up with the updates. You're right in that it's one of the longest-lasting businesses, my only real issue isn't with you, but Bitcoin in general (which is still a risky situation). That said, I may jump on board with at least one seat, Smiley.
2796  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Loanbase.com - Scam or legit ? on: October 13, 2015, 07:03:32 AM
It isn't any better than BTCJam. The one difference for me was that they accepted my verification stuff while btcjam didn't. There are a lot of scammers there and I have been scammed there before. They allow people to take rep loans, which is just really stupid.

How would you know if it was a rep loan if someone didn't say upfront that it was? I personally like the transparency. You could just as easily claim it's for something else and then pay it back, building rep. the same way.

There is a type of loan for reputation loan in here where you can't withdraw the coins out of your account. Isn't that   insane? Cheesy

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. That's just... odd. Basically you just pay for rep. then. So why not just sell rep. outright? XD
2797  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 2 BTC in 2 months on: October 13, 2015, 06:45:42 AM
i dont believe joining a signature campaign at your rank will earn you 2btc in 2months. if you really need it that bad i suggest you take a loan WITH SOME VALID COLLATERAL, and pay back after you've made the money back irl

I suggest you take the easy route: work, use the money to get BTC, win. It's not that hard. Even at minimum wage it's only around 50 hours (so 25/month, 6 hours a week, or under 1 hour a day).

I'm a bit lost as to how this works. Like what do you mean by risk 25%, return 50%? And how can users check up on their profit?
