today i just went to see my moneypot and the drop is really very huge for me. it is gonna to take months to recover the losses.

I think "months" would very likely be an overstatement. In post #3, ndnhc posted that the investor profit was -27.3 btc on Jan 29. At this moment, the investor profit is only -19.0 btc. With this trend, the number could turn back positive in a month or so, but of course it could also receive another heavy blow. Tongue

And in the first 30 days, the site ended up like +28 BTC, so following that pattern, it should just be a couple weeks for breakeven.

Currently testing the withdrawal and deposit features now for release!

Awesome news! I haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet but will in the next couple days. Looking forward to an update, Smiley.

which clutter up the thread with the same complaint so ranlo locked the thread

Misinformation ftw. Ranlo didn't start the thread so Ranlo had no control over the thread so Ranlo could not have possibly locked the thread. Ranlo never censors anyone.

@Blazed, there was a note among admins about the withdrawal. Not sure why it hadn't been sent yet. I'll ping it...

are you one of the new owners of MP?

as far as I understood MP paid out the OP's big win and confirmed there was nothing wrong with his bets. why are you still delaying all withdrawals?

Nothing was delayed, per se. To keep a bit safer, the site runs far less BTC in the hot wallet than the cold wallet. There were a lot of withdrawals the day he tried to withdraw, which had drained the hot wallet. At this point, Blazed had made a withdrawal that exceeded its balance, which puts it in a "failed" state for admins to take care of. Shortly after, there were more deposits, but the system doesn't automatically attempt to keep pushing transactions through that are already "failed," so it still requires admin intervention.

Past that, I apologize but I have no information, Sad.

1846  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Any interest in modded Xbox 360 consoles?? on: February 02, 2016, 11:09:46 PM
Hey all! I wanted to report that the 360 came in, and everything is as stated! Smiley. Along with this, adroitful has been more than helpful with understanding things, and I feel like I've flooded his PM box with questions. Would absolutely deal with again!

And thanks!

- Join the Hypercrypto corporation in Eve Online to get FREE HYPER and assistance with your EVE career: http://hypercrypto.com/eve-online/

Is this even active, cause looking at http://evewho.com/corp/HYPER+Crypto, this corporation might be inactive. I played Eve Online a year ago or so and when I applied for a membership in this corporation got no response.

Is anyone here playing Eve Online maybe?

And HYPERFUTURE do you maybe know those players stated in that link?

It could also use information on how to actually earn HYPER by playing. It says "just by joining" but there's no information on calculations, pay rate, how you'd withdraw, etc.
1848  Economy / Gambling / Re: Moneypot just took a huge loss? on: February 02, 2016, 06:04:50 PM
Perhaps this is a silly question, but I'm curious why are we just now having this discussion? MoneyPot has been up and running for years, and I'm assuming its usage/implementation of the kelly criterion has remained the same over that time. It's just strange to me that previously there had not been any bets that drew this kind of attention to the % of bankroll kelly would allow to be risked.

Moneypot (not to be confused with the game Bustabit which was originally called Moneypot) was launched last April, so it has been running for less than a year AFAIK. Yup the implementation of bet limit (just follow what Kelly criterion suggests) has not been changed since the beginning, but in the past no gambler was dare and lucky enough to make such a big bet on plinko and to win such a big amount. It seems no one even knows that the max bet limit on plinko is actually that high in the past.

Yep, the bet is unprecedented. It was a risk of almost half a bitcoin on a very, very long shot. But it worked for him so all the more power to him, Smiley.

An official announcement will be posted soon, but the verdict is that he's seriously lucky and it was real (BTW, he has been paid already). A lot of time was spent verifying everything and there's no sign of foul play. His bet was recreated in an even more risky fashion (i.e., apparently he didn't do a max. bet) and worked as expected.

@Dooglus and Ryan, I want to thank you both for your time here as well. Your math skills are way beyond most peoples', and far beyond mine (as you can see by my misunderstandings within this thread). It was a very interesting event, to say the least!

And this situation will absolutely be bringing changes to the risk algorithm soon, Smiley.
1849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [GP] GoldPieces - 3D MMO RPG Live -Online RPG Gaming Currency -NO PREMINE on: February 01, 2016, 09:27:19 PM
I thought you were going to have Gold as in-game currency which could then be exchanged for GP (and later HYPER)?  Are you going for complete direct integration?  Much as I like that idea in some ways, it sounds terribly risky.

I am going to try and go for direct integration and see how it works instead of having an additional market, but the coins wont be 1:1. My idea is when you deposit 1GP that is equivalent of 1,000 coins (I think this is called uGP?) in the game and vice versa. This doesn't mean people can't make money in the game with their skills though. If you are the first one to get 99 smithing you can mine ores and create items that aren't available yet and sell them to other players for example.

Interesting idea here. I was brainstorming the viability of having a MMO whose only currency was the crypto itself (unrelated to all of this) and couldn't get past the pricing of items vs. speed of earning of gold situation. Wasn't thinking about removing the ability to farm it, and using like a faucet...

And 1000 coins would be mGP. uGP would be micro, which means million (0.00000100 GP).
1850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GP] GoldPieces - An expandable digital currency for online gaming on: February 01, 2016, 12:52:17 PM
Is this the current GP thread? Or is there another one? This one hasn't been updated in a while...

Check the post above yours for the new thread Wink

I think I was realllllllllllly tired or something. I'm baffled as to how I missed something so obvious...

When does the cap on coins staked come into play (total market amount I mean) and when does the interest method change to be like HYPER's?

Some questions, i know its not on a priority list, but still:

Where are with the fork to make the staking work like HYPER?

And because we are almost knocking at the door to max coins at 1 500 000 GP, i wonder what will happen after. Will it keep staking on or what?

I believe there isn't a limited number of coins?

I held a poll and the results were overwhelmingly in favor of no fork for GP.

So it will continue as it is for now. The 2.5 GP cap per staking input actually keeps inflation relatively low, while letting anyone earn stakes.

As the ecosystem keeps growing, I anticipate market cap growth to far exceed inflation.

Ah, thanks for that. New to the thread and didn't have time to read through everything, :p.

And what's the current thread for GP? I found one that hadn't been updated in over 2 months.

The latest post in it is here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1053441.400
That thread's become quite active in the last few days!  Wink

Thanks! And yep, just ran into this on accident, Smiley. I'm new to GP but I'm familiar with it and the niche (especially MMOs), so may get involved with it.

Time for another big HYPER Weekly Update:
//stuff

I love the update, but feel it's premature to link to the GP game (inkhscape). The site isn't up yet, and that can lead some to not check it again.

The site was up when I posted the update. Inkha the head dev is redesigning the site with a much more professional design etc, but you are right I will remove the link for now until he gets the site back up.

Ah, makes sense. Hope to see it live soon. And looking forward to seeing where the game goes, Smiley.

Thanks Ranlo, I know Inkha is working very hard on it, and when we start announcing it in a huge way it should really explode Smiley

NP! Responded to your PM, btw.

And what's the current thread for GP? I found one that hadn't been updated in over 2 months.

Saw the new token system and I like it, Smiley. But it's not clear about something... is the reward amount random, or based on some criteria (like crypto-games, where your "rank" determines claim amounts)?

It's been a long time since I messed with these sites, Smiley. I'm back to mess around some more! Just got my first ticket for this round. I think a cool feature would be to have a counter on the site that shows like "You have 3/300 tickets (1%)" or something.
