@OP best course of action when you see something like this is to report their posts and eventually tag them for shilling (even though in that case they usually just ditch those accounts and start using new ones).
Good suggestion but I don't think that moderators will care much about deleting such posts especially when those are in gambling board. Tagging such users will also not be much fruitful because they aren't here to enroll in signature campaigns, their main role is just shilling the threads and they can do that even if they get 20 negative feedbacks. If I'm not wrong then such scammers who get paid for shilling may already have 100's of newbie rank accounts which they can use to shill the threads.
Of course they will, if you prove that they are all part of the same bumping group (which is pretty obvious in this case).

I (and many others) reported thousands of such posts and in 99.99% of the cases they got deleted so I have no idea on what you base your opinion.
282  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: February 29, 2024, 06:12:05 AM
We seriously need to start thinking about making some yearly competitions and rewards for best local members, with counting of activity, merit distribution and overall forum contribution.
I think this could help improve quality of local boards and make everyone happy, if we find some sponsors (or if they find us).
What do you think about this idea?
That's not a bad idea at all, people like things like that and could yield results, especially if we manage to find some sponsors for it.

We're about to take advantage of our population here as well
Yeah. it was just a matter of time. Due combination of crypto popularity in your country, size of the population and the fact that you can (I guess)  make an average monthly salary via signature campaign, I do expect you to eventually surpass Russian board as well.

and the only advantage the Russian and Turkish boards have over us is the number of merit sources on those boards; whether we admit it or not, the number of merit sources and the amount of merit distributed attracts members to the local board, and that's exactly what the Nigerian board lacks; if we could get one or two merit sources, the activities would explode.
While I agree that amout of merit sources is important, I don't think that its crucial for the growth of local board (at least not for the organic growth, without alt account farms). After all, both Russian and Turkish local boards don't have higher merit per post ratio than you so I wouldn't say they have advntage over you in that aspect.

With that being said, I do think that you need more merit sources and hopefully you get them the next time theymos decided to readjust the merit.
283  Economy / Reputation / Re: What is happening in SportBet.one topic? on: February 29, 2024, 05:51:55 AM
Could even be this one, which has been known for engaging in the exact same tactics for years.
That was my thought exactly when I saw the thread, that its most likely Vitor Services behind it.

I will take some time to look at the accounts in a bit, wouldn't be surprised if they're connected to other accounts that are engaged in coordinated shilling.
Indeed they are. Few of them (littlEOwl, MercerAlex, Krypt0nite)  were doing the exactly same thing in Биржа iExchange [Официальный топик] ANN thread few years ago and I woulnd't be surprised if they wake up more accounts that used to be active in that thread.

@OP best course of action when you see something like this is to report their posts and eventually tag them for shilling (even though in that case they usually just ditch those accounts and start using new ones).
284  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OTC exchange offering daily yield of 25 bps (0.25%) on: February 29, 2024, 05:37:55 AM
Are you passing your kangaroo court judgement based on a yield farming site I posted here 4 years ago?
How shocking, people are judging your new projects by the previous one, which was by the way scammy defi bs. But even without looking at your past, these new projects that you are advertising here look dodgy as fuck.

I am no longer associated with that project and that project had already folded without causing any losses to external investors.
Yeah right, we are supposed to believe that you sent the money back to all those who invested in that failed project of yours.

285  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CAN I BUY CRYPTO ON EBAY? on: February 29, 2024, 05:28:34 AM
It must have hurt a bit when Mr. Mars inflated that coin to $0.70, because for $100 you could profit to an extent that you couldn't even imagine.
Nah, not really. I think that most of us who are in crypto long enough made some mistakes that cost us  a lot of money so that's just how it goes (either we sold too early/didn't buy enough/lost wallet etc). Its all part of this game.
286  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining recommendations on: February 28, 2024, 04:18:23 PM
I also assume that shesha has never used Kucoin's mining service
As far as I know (I checked their website and couldn't find anything of that sort, but maybe I missed it), Kucoin doesn't offer any type of mining, they merely have tutorials on it.
287  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: February 28, 2024, 03:15:49 PM
Sometimes, I notice that a new account pop up every few days and suddenly become too much active. Once they rank up, they slowly left the thread.
Sounds like someone farming an alt account.

You see the activity because we all are in one thread. But, I don't know if we will see that much activity if we get a local board. But, it's also true that a lot of good posts get buried easily because we are in a single thread.
I don't see how getting your local board would decrease your activity. Sure, posts would be spread acorss many topics but that would also enable the more quality (and lenghtier) discussions which would then increase your overall activity. Just take a look at the Nigerian local board and how much their numbers went up since they got their own local board.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: February 28, 2024, 03:09:16 PM
@Rikafip. Watch it a weekday if you are going alone, I reckon. However, if you are watching it with friends, it is much better and fun on a weekend where you fall in line and talk, buy your drink and popcorn while waiting for your schedule hehehe.
I think first watching will be with my buddies and 2nd (if movie is as good as I think it will be) with my wife. Either way, can't wait, its been many years I saw the same movie twice in cinema.

For those interested, The Zone of Interest in a good quality is finally out in "video stores". I have a very high expectations from this one, very interesting take on the whole concentration camp thing. Despite having 5 Oscar nominations I still kinda feel that movie is somewhat under the radar.
289  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gate.io blocked my funds and the problem has not been resolved for more a month on: February 28, 2024, 02:54:16 PM
I also wrote above that almost all of my data that their system can see remained the same, even 2FA was not disabled.
Have yoiut ried escaalting your issue on their other social media channels like Twitter, or maybe even asking on Telegram?

The only time I ever had issue with CEX blocking my account (It was Binance) it wasn't resolved until I contacted them on reddit so imho its worth to try in your case too as I hear from people around me that use Gate that is a solid exchange. Then again, that's the risk when using CEX as you never know for what bullshit reason they might decide to freeze your money.
290  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining recommendations on: February 28, 2024, 02:48:58 PM
I have no idea why anyone would think kucoin even offers that since that page is just a tutorial.
I guess we have to wait for @sheenshane to explain us where he saw cloud mining on that Kucoin pool mining tutorial page he shared.
291  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Koja kartica za bankomat? on: February 28, 2024, 02:29:34 PM

292  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: February 27, 2024, 05:00:24 PM
...
Out of curiosity, do you have any members of Phillipines local board submitting their posts in your thread? Their merit numbers are very low for a long time now, probably more than 2 years while they are among the more active boards. I mean, their merit/post reatio is on par with some of the lowest quality parts of the forum like for example "Off Topic" section and I doubt that quality of discussions in their local is that bad.
293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: February 27, 2024, 04:50:06 PM
Ive read oscar voters who are Directors then vote on the Directors category but any of the Oscar voters can vote for the Best picture so that is the most open, I guess the directors could all decide they dont go with Nolan's style on things.
Its true, directors vote for "best director" category, actors in "best actor/actresses" awards etc while all members of academy have the right to vote for the main award, "best picture".

This could be good or bad based on two things, would be bad because it would mean people would not give enough credit for Oscars and enough of these stupid decisions and Oscars will lose its attention
The bolded part already happened, Oscar award is loosing its signifance each year and I don't see this trend changing anytime soon. If anything, I expect things to become even worse.

The early reviews on rottentomatoes.com is 97% with a fresh pick logo.
Yep, initial reviews are very good so far and I am getting seriously hyped. The only thing I have to decide whether to go watch Dune on Thursday or wait for the weekend. Or maybe I watch both days.  Grin
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who was Satoshi Nakamoto? on: February 27, 2024, 04:31:11 PM
Most people have already figured it out
Some people think that they have figured it out.

So with that in mind, we really need to respect their request.
With this part I agree. One of the biggest Bitcoin advnatges is the anonymity of its creator and I don't think that anything good could come out of finding out who really was behind all this.
295  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: February 27, 2024, 04:15:20 PM
Someday it would have to happen. Maybe this year there will be more competition and it will be more difficult for me to appear so many times in the top 3.
Well, a least now you have a goal, to regain your title. Eeven though, as a member of another local board I know its not awlays up to you how many posts you gonna make as you depend on other members too.

I have shared the reason a couple of months ago. But, I am glad that the spam has reduced a lot.
Quality > quantity. After all, your numbers are still good enough and if you keep them you will eventually get your own local board.

296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CAN I BUY CRYPTO ON EBAY? on: February 27, 2024, 04:04:37 PM
Who would have thought that 10 years later that same coin would be worth $0.70 or today around $0.10 - I hope you sold them at their peak Cheesy
Unfortunately I lost the wallet long before DOGE reached its all time high. Few months after that purchase I went on a long break from crypto due some reasons and when I came back I coulnd't get the acces back of the crypto wallet.
297  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining recommendations on: February 26, 2024, 07:25:32 PM
Is it really true what you are saying? Minimum investment should be 5 bitcoins? I don't think this is serious. Or did I not understand the issue correctly?
I have no idea where he found that 5 bitcoin requirement. I just checked the link he shared and they only have explanation how to join mining pool, there's no mention of some minimum bitcoin investment.

298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CAN I BUY CRYPTO ON EBAY? on: February 26, 2024, 07:19:20 PM
I'm not sure how but those that are into crypto like selling they'd just order it from a specific merchant and it will be delivered to them once the payment is confirmed. But since it's no longer allowed there, he should look into the exchanges that he may be comfortable to transact.
It was just as you described, you sent the money via Paypal and once the seller gets the money, he sends you crypto.

My first crypto buy was actually on ebay. It was back in early 2014 and Dogecoin was just released and since I coulnd't afford one whole bitcoin I decided to buy $100 worth of DOGE. Since I already had ebay account and was using it regularly, friend suggested me to buy some via ebay. Crazy times... Cheesy

Nigeria board is in a long sprint! 2nd place! Congrats!
I woulnd't be surporised to see them at the top in the near future. Anyway, overview has been updated with your animated chart.

I am somewhat surprised by the overall decrease in activity and posting in January compared to December. December is usually a time for holidays and time spent away from work and home. It turns out we were being a bit lazy. I wonder how much of an affect on the stats the new rule change had? I think a significant one.
Since total number of posts in local boards decreased only 5% compared to month before, its hard to say whether that was just a coincidence or mixer ban indeed had the influence. I don't know whether its just my lack of inspiration, but its harder for me to find interesting conversations lately in the English part of the forum.

Wow!
Indonesian board taking the lead in local board is a big thing.
They had a big help from the external merit sources, therefore those numbers.

I guess of course the inactivity of a very active Merit source as Ratimov had a important role in this, even if next month we will see something similar in the Indonesian board, as o_e_l_e_o left the forum as well.
If you check Russian merit numbers previous year, you will see that they didn't have much higher numbers when he was active, and sometimes even lower than now. Then again, I don't know when exactly he stopped sharing merit he got as a merit source.
300  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: February 26, 2024, 11:28:25 AM
Since months is almost over, I think its time to finally publish the January's (not so brief anymore) monthly overview. Apologies for delay but as always it was caused by the combination of my laziness and having shit load of work. As always, all charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space which I suggest to check if you want more in depth overview of your local board.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards.

Post activity per local board during January 2024

During the previous month 21413 posts were made across 18 local boards that are part of this overview, which is a slight decrease compared to December's numbers (22544). Majority of that decerase happened of Russian and Pilipinas board, while rest of it has been divided across several others.

Despite the decrease, Russian board remained by far the most active while Nigerian finally reached 2nd position due their big increase compared to month before (2708 - 3255) and I expect their numbers to keep growirng, while Turkish board ended up being 3rd.

Local Board post race

Animated local board post race chart, courtesy of bitmover

Active members per local board January 2024

Despite the decrease of number of posts, active numbers increased; from 1526 in December to 1589 during last month. Once again Russian board is the leader in this chart as well, followed by Nigerian and Indonesian local boards while German at 4th and Turkish at 5th place are left behind.

While majority of other local board either had the same number of active members of even slight decrease, those two local boards ( Indonesian and Nigerian) keep growing month after month and those are their highest numbers yet. Well, at least since I am making these overviews.

Local board members per amount of posts during January 2024

When it comes to the members who wrote only 1 post, Romanian board is the leader with 78% of such members, followed by Greek (67%) and Indian (52%) local boards. At the same time, Nigerian had the lowest percentage of such members (11%), while Pakistan was close with 12 % and Pilipinas with 17%.

In the 2-9 posts bracket leader is Russian board with 44%, followed closely by Indonesian (43%) and French (42%) local boards. At the bottom there is Romanian local board with 11%, followed by Polish (22%) and Portuguese (23%) local boards.

Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, Pakistan local board is the leader with 51% of such members, while Nigerian and Portuguese local boards are not that far away with 49%. At the same time, Greek board had no members in that bracket(which is not a surprise considering their post number), while Romanian had 11% and French 22% of those members.

Merit shared per local board during January 2024

Despite the (small) decrease of the amount of posts, number of merit shared went up compared to December; during January 8765 merit was shared across the local boards that are part of this overview which is a slight increase compared to previous month's numbers (8455).

For the first time (afaik), Indonesian board is at the top of this chart with 1765 merit shared, narrowly beating the usual leader Russian that had 1763 merit shared during January. Far behind those two are Nigerian, Turkish and German local boards. At the bottom we see the usual names, with the Greek board missing as they didn't share any merit during January.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during January 2024

When it comes to merit/post ratio, Romanian board is once again at the top with a huge 1.81 merit/post ratio (just to note that the less active boards tend to have such extreme ratios), followed by (again)_ Arabic board with alos a big 1.25 m/p ratio and Spanish local board at the 3rd spot with also impressive 0.94 m/p ratio.

Once again the usual names are at the bottom, Ppilipinas once again sticking out) with Greek board missing due obvious reason (no merit sent during last month).

Merit senders and receivers per local board during January 2024

During above mentioned period, 616 members in the local boards sent at least 1 merit, while 645 received, which is a solid increase compared to month before (519 senders and 578 merit receivers). Just to note that charts are sorted according to the amount of merit shared while Pakistan and Bangladesh boards are missing since I don't have that info about communities without local board.

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during January 2024

Due their very high merit/post ratio and low amount of posts, no surprise that Romanian board is far ahead in this chart, with an incredible 64% of posts getting merit, while far behind them are Spanish and Arabic local boards with more reasonable percentages. At the same time, Turkish and Pilipinas board remained at the bottom where Geeek would probably be too if they managed to send at least 1 merit during last month.

Merit per transaction across local boards during January 2024

And the last in this series of charts, merit per transaction. Despite the Romanian board leading the merit/post ratio chart, in this one Arabic is on the top with and avreage of more than 3 merit sent per transaction, followed by French and Romanian local boards. At the same time, Indonesian (leader in the merit sent chart) sends only 1.23 merit per tx, on average.

The most active members per local board during January 2024

Last but not the least in this overview, list of top 10 members across 18 local boards and thanks to whom their local boards are alive and kicking. This month we have a big change at the top since the usual name (joker_josue) is not even in the top 3, which went to three members from Turkish local board: ZekiBeyy [268], totti67 [261] and verbakalim [261]. Congrats guys,a nd lets see if the usual champion takes back his first spot!
