2821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible 51% Attack on fairbrix (fbx) on: October 03, 2011, 09:30:04 AM
Nice describing Tenebrix, Fairbrix and Solidcoin 2. Hopefully I can mine other stuff than Tenecrap because ATM Solidcoin 2 and Fairbrix is down due to attack by Artforz and his buddy lolcust ( maybe same person too ? ) which cannot understand "competition" when it comes to CPU mining etc.
I see, the SC shills are again out in force making libelous claims about their "competition".
Guess they have to distract everyone from "2.0 Public Beta Testnet this weekend" followed by a whole lot of nothing...

Yep back in force once their master and them noticed CPUs are not immune from attack either throwing a monkey wrench in the plans.

Just a FYI, I am not a SC troll but it seems like you are trolling SC without reason. If you actually took some time to see the new SC2 release, you would have seen it certainly is the best CPU mining chain ATM. It has some clever features not even bitcoin has and hopefully it can launch and we can test it really is the first chain that is 51% proof etc.

Go drink so more of that coolaid, I know your master RealSolid has yet to every put any of his great code to the test not once in a month has he backed up any of his claims so I don't believe his BS for a minute until proven otherwise.

Even if the code is not done yet, the ideas are better than bitcoin and any other chain out there. You just cannot see it because of you inherent hate towards any other chain that beats bitcoin.
2822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 03, 2011, 09:28:37 AM

Well until you can disprove it, it can be assumed to be true and the guy who attacked Fairbrix can actually be Artforz/lolcust until you have concrete evidence to disprove this.

That's not how evidence works.

Otherwise, unless you can disprove it, bulanula is a  dog that learned to type.

WOW it really shows how things can degenerate on here. I am not in any way affiliated with SC or CoinHunter.

But can you disprove claims to the contrary ?

Nope. Neither can you disprove that you attacked Fairbrix because it would kill Tenecrap Smiley
2823  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price halved, miners leaving, is there a future for a market? on: October 03, 2011, 09:24:52 AM

you mean the suckers that sell their bitcoins for a dollar each?

If difficulty drops to 400k I'll be happy to sell at $1/BTC, and would continue to do so (but selling 5x as many coins).  $5 only looks good at current difficulty.

Now I'm at 4.6c/kwhr + fees, so the "free electricity" guys and Ukrainian miners can go lower and still be happy.  FPGA miners can go way lower still.

At what point do the bulls provide fresh injections of cash?  If new money doesn't keep coming we have no choice but to eventually make new lows because it's currently costing $1k/hr (or about $720k/month) at US average power rates just to run the network.  I'm sure the exchanges and other related sites have costs of their own they can't pay in BTC.  New price lows may translate to lower difficulty, which in turn would drive lower prices miners are willing to accept.

Bulls really need to step up and start propping up this pyramid, and soon.  And I don't mean by posting here, I mean by cash injection.  Once the downward spiral starts accelerating it may be too late.

You dare imply that Bitcoin is a huge pump and dump pyramid ponzi scheme and Satoshi ( artforz in disguise ) is the master puppeteer / pump+dump master and the whole thing is falling down !?!? NO WAY !!!

Get ready for $1 bitcoins at the end of this month.

If that happens, I will instantly buy 10,000 BTC, and I won't be the only one.

Yeah I'm sure people will, there are a lot of suckers out there.

you mean the suckers that sell their bitcoins for a dollar each?

I think he means the suckers that are going to pay 10 000 USD for some fairy WOW virtual gold on your computer nobody but nerds use  Grin

2826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Announce] Fairbrix relaunched! on: October 03, 2011, 09:15:17 AM
I confirm the chain is back on track.
All it needs now is to garner enough hashing power and increase in difficulty.
I reloaded my original wallet.dat and it still has no coins.

That's because your coins were on the segment that was taken over by the 51% attack (or whatever happened that actually generated a longer strand).
I've also lost thousands of coins to the attack.

Coins mined after the attack are maturing normally and the hashrate is building up steadily.
The more time passes the less likely these will vanish like the first did.

Unless Tenebrix attacks you again with his botnet Smiley
2827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 03, 2011, 09:11:41 AM
Now given that I was helping out with FBX, this is plain outright lie.

Also, the only thing that really keeps you from making a fork of your own is insufficient imagination

Not really. Too bad I am not a coder or I really would make a proper CPU mining chain just for the educational value etc. and not to premine millions and pump and dump it.

Fairbrix => Attacked by Artforz/lolcust as too much competition to tenecrap

Now given that I was helping out with FBX, this is plain outright lie.

bulanula, please stop spreading FUD. Stop accusing people of attacking a chain when you don't know for sure. Lolcust is the main reason why Fairbrix exists in the first place.

Well until you can disprove it, it can be assumed to be true and the guy who attacked Fairbrix can actually be Artforz/lolcust until you have concrete evidence to disprove this.

In public he helps complete Fairbux to look like good competition but in private he attacks it with his botnet so that it does not compete with pump+dump tenebrix scheme. Simples !
2828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANNOUNCE] sCAMcOIN : a new alternate cryptocurrency that will make you rich ! on: October 03, 2011, 09:06:49 AM
Quick, get the exchange set up so we can cash out.

At least these alternate coins have been pretty good sources of entertainment for me.

7.7 million premined coins is just LOL   Shocked
2829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fairbrix fiasco on: October 03, 2011, 09:04:36 AM
Is it possible that the solution to "GPU Hostile" crypto-currencies lies within the IE9 Hardware Acceleration and an older lesser known work around for previous anti-parallel computing by the cryptocommunity?

Maybe a modded hardware accelerator could turn GPU's into APU hybrids and could crunch at tens of thousands times faster than every CPU on the network combined. A mere 1 GH /s machine would be a beast...I would shutter to think what a 68 GH /s farm would do.

I would love to claim this as my own idea but it in fact is the (theoretical) brain child of a couple of iOS engineers I know. They (theoretically) adapted it from from previous failed attempts at cryptographers to prevent parallel computing in cracking MD5 hashes.  "GPU Hostility" was solved a while back.

I would also speculate that someone needed a testnet and really didn't want to disrupt Tenebrix as there is already an exchange and pool. I would venture to say this theoretical attacker may in fact have nothing against Fairbrix and is developing a Solidcoin killer.

All just theory on my part.  Grin Grin Grin

~BCX~

PS I would also guess the test is complete and I wouldn't worry about it.

May this attacker actually be you and your buddies over at Cupertino ?
2830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible 51% Attack on fairbrix (fbx) on: October 03, 2011, 09:01:35 AM
Doesn't matter though, artforz could 51% attack bitcoin and he'd still be lauded by people around here it seems.
SolidCoin 2.0 will have none of this drama with the hackers, and it will be the only chain that businesses can rely on to not get robbed.

You have got to understand what natural selection means.
There can (and will) exist an inifinity of chains, all of them claiming to be the best.
But only a selected few will garner enough market capitalization to make it to the real world economy.
These got to be bullet proof by the time they are picked by the financial industry.

So, yes, ArtForz attacked SolidCoin, and yes, that laid waste in the chain, and that looked bad for you.
But you have got to admit that your chain wasn't fit. In fact you already admitted it by creating SC2.
ArtForz deserves credit for wasting time, efforts and resources for the only purpose of proving you wrong.
He paid his duty to the selection process.

Now you have got an original idea with SC2 when you decided to pick a more CPU friendly hash function.
ArtForz shamelessly copied you but improved on it by changing the hash function with a whitepaper backed memory-hard hash one, and that is good.
And someone already copied ArtForz, stripped the premined 7M, and rebranded it as FairCoin. Lame but effective.

It's jungle here, man.
So welcome to pick back stuff from *Brix, put it in SolidCoin and, yes, even bitch as much as you want about other currencies.
That's all within the rules, because there are no rules.

Good idea, I think my new chain will have 1000Billion pre-mined,
and first million adopters will receive 1 million coins each. get ready to sign up yo!

Best idea ever !!!

1. Make alternate chain with huge premine
2. Wait until you can cash out
3. Huh
4. PROFIT

Whatever you say, that 7.7 MILLION premine just screams at me whenever I mine Tenebrix. Too bad I cannot make my own CPU chain because ATM :

Tenebrix => 7.7 million premine pump and dump fail idea
Fairbrix => Attacked by Artforz/lolcust as too much competition to tenecrap
Solidcoin 2 => Not out yet

Hopefully SC2 cannot be attacked and I will mine that.
2834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How developers can protect their services against 51% attack? on: October 03, 2011, 08:43:34 AM
PS Yes this means that if the US Government or any other rouge entity wanted to wipe out Bitcoin, all they would have to do is drop a couple of million in hardware and kiss Bitcoin goodbye. It's that simple really.

Or to put it another way drive the price down far enough for the miners to quit then easily attack the weakened network without spending any dime on ATi cards
2835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining - Who will emerge Dominant? on: October 03, 2011, 08:42:08 AM
It's fairly obvious all these other chains are dead ends (including BTC in my mind), no real solutions, minor additions, no business support and copycat (poorly too) behaviour. The lolcust chains are premined to hell, anyone supporting them is essentially supporting lolcust's and artforz project to be rich (which is the entire aim of those chains). All chains besides SC2.0 are vulnerable to double spend attacks, you could wake up tomorrow and have nothing. If you want to see the future and what real development looks like

Indeed, talk about 7.7 million premined coins taking the rest of us 3 years to get to the same level LOL what a joke. Waiting to dump all my TBX for Solidcoins 2 when it comes out. Too bad Tenecrap is the only CPU miner working now and Failbrix got attacked by lolcusts/artforz so that tenecrap stays on top.
2836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What speed are your getting CPU mining TENEBRIX? on: October 03, 2011, 08:39:30 AM
2x i7 920 at 2.8 ghz - 2.1 x 4 = 16.8 khash/sec.  Averaging about 10 blocks every 24 hours so far.  Not bad -- that's about the same as 2x5830s mining bitcoin.  I'll probably shut down once the 30 or so bitcoins at .0014 are claimed though, definitely not worth doing at .0001.

So you are the one unloading TBX as soon as they are mined all day long keeping the price down ?

Good idea but remember the protecshun fund of 7.7 million won't be able to cash out if we also cash out Smiley
2837  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: October 03, 2011, 08:37:17 AM
Nah I'm not like artforz, copying other code to solve problems which are simple. Take a look at my block init for example.

Code:
void BlockHash_Init()
{
    static unsigned char SomeArrogantText1[]="Back when I was born the world was different. As a kid I could run around the streets, build things in the forest, go to the beach and generally live a care free life. Sure I had video games and played them a fair amount but they didn't get in the way of living an adventurous life. The games back then were different too. They didn't require 40 hours of your life to finish. Oh the good old days, will you ever come back?";
    static unsigned char SomeArrogantText2[]="Why do most humans not understand their shortcomings? The funny thing with the human brain is it makes everyone arrogant at their core. Sure some may fight it more than others but in every brain there is something telling them, HEY YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE WORLD. THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE. But we can't all be that, can we? Well perhaps we can, introducing GODria, take 2 pills of this daily and you can be like RealSolid, lord of the universe.";
    static unsigned char SomeArrogantText3[]="What's up with kids like artforz that think it's good to attack other's work? He spent a year in the bitcoin scene riding on the fact he took some other guys SHA256 opencl code and made a miner out of it. Bravo artforz, meanwhile all the false praise goes to his head and he thinks he actually is a programmer. Real programmers innovate and create new work, they win through being better coders with better ideas. You're not real artforz, and I hear you like furries? What's up with that? You shouldn't go on IRC when you're drunk, people remember the weird stuff.";
    BlockHash_1_MemoryPAD8 = new unsigned char[BLOCKHASH_1_PADSIZE+8];  //need the +8 for memory overwrites
    BlockHash_1_MemoryPAD32 = (uint32*)BlockHash_1_MemoryPAD8;

    BlockHash_1_Q[0] = 0x6970F271;
    BlockHash_1_Q[1] = 0x6970F271 + PHI;
    BlockHash_1_Q[2] = 0x6970F271 + PHI + PHI;
    for (int i = 3; i < 4096; i++)  BlockHash_1_Q[i] = BlockHash_1_Q[i - 3] ^ BlockHash_1_Q[i - 2] ^ PHI ^ i;
    BlockHash_1_c=362436;
    BlockHash_1_i=4095;

    int count1=0,count2=0,count3=0;
    for(int x=0;x<(BLOCKHASH_1_PADSIZE/4)+2;x++)  BlockHash_1_MemoryPAD32[x] = BlockHash_1_rand();
    for(int x=0;x<BLOCKHASH_1_PADSIZE+8;x++)
    {
        switch(BlockHash_1_MemoryPAD8[x]&3)
        {
            case 0: BlockHash_1_MemoryPAD8[x] ^= SomeArrogantText1[count1++]; if(count1>=sizeof(SomeArrogantText1)) count1=0; break;
            case 1: BlockHash_1_MemoryPAD8[x] ^= SomeArrogantText2[count2++]; if(count2>=sizeof(SomeArrogantText2)) count2=0; break;
            case 2: BlockHash_1_MemoryPAD8[x] ^= SomeArrogantText3[count3++]; if(count3>=sizeof(SomeArrogantText3)) count3=0; break;
            case 3: BlockHash_1_MemoryPAD8[x] ^= 0xAA; break;
        }
    }
}

LOL made my day !

Why all you hating on RealSolid ? At least he did not premine 7.7 million coins like Lolcust's Tenebrix scamchain. If you see the changes in SC2 you can clearly see that the features implemented are leaving bitcoin way behind. It took ages to Bitcoin 0.4 and still it is lacking some features of SC2.

I say let us judge after Fairbrix vs Tenebrix vs Solidcoin 2 are all launched for the best CPU coin.
2838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE, short one] Alt-currency Tenebrix now also traded on: October 02, 2011, 10:11:45 PM
Given that the premined coinage's existence and intent is stated on the official site and in the forums, and is trivially monitorable, you hardly need to make anyone with english reading skills "aware" of it (and those without won't get your post anyway)

Then the more it's mentioned the better, right?  I don't remember seeng "I've given myself about six years worth of coins the rest of you schmucks will mine" (and that's what 3 years worth of 50 btc/block turns into at 25 btc/block) featured prominently on the tenebrix website.  Me, I think that fact needs a bit more stress and exposure than it's received.

Quote
Now, if I was really at a race to the exit, I would have cashed out before a pool, don't you think ?  Roll Eyes

The problem with pyramids is you never know when the end will come.  It's all a guessing game.  The longer and bigger the pyramid lasts, the bigger the stake.  If tenebrix does take off you stand to win a lot more than $60,000.  It's a risk of existing vs potential payout.  Besides, if you cash out now you'll only get 2 chains worth of reward.  If you can get a dozen or more chains going before cashing out you'll do far better.

Plus you can, at some point, distribute some malware with the final shitcoin variant du jour, making the ultimate payout even sweeter.

Quote
Actually, that would be pretty silly of me given that I know at least two people who are watching my premines via automatic tools. It's not very hard given that blockexplorer is up Smiley

Good for them.  But if you DO decide there's enough bids on the exchanges to cash out by the time they get the warning it'll be too late to do anything about it.  Their transactions (and any other speculator transactions), will be behind yours.

Also, isn't your goal to provide a coinage laundry service?  Just wondering when it'll be time to "test" it with your premined GG and brix.

Just picking on you because IMO you got waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too greedy with the premine total on tenebrix.  Any of the alt chain pyramids with gigantic premine totals are like that.  Hell, bitcoin itself, with a 1.5M Satoshi premine is like that.
But your latest is truly an amazing display of chutzpah.

MAN to be honest I think you are not giving this man enough credit !!! He made a new world record in premined virtual coinage and all the coding is done by ArtForz ( wonder what he is getting in return ? maybe the .exe is a trojan and he gets to play with our machines etc. ? ) so truly a new record. To bad I am not a coder to create the newest ScamCoin daily served with a fat dose of BS  Roll Eyes

Waiting on SolidCoin 2 but don't think that will be much of a refresh with its tax but much better than 7 million premined.
2839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 02, 2011, 09:01:23 PM
At the current point, yeah. tbx seems to have about 1200kH/s on it, fbx looks like about 150.
So a potential attacker only needs something like 60 high end cpus or about 1000 really crappy ones to have a good chance at forking and overtaking the tbx chain, about 1/8 that for fbx.

good information and this is why I am planning to stay away from CPU coins for a while Smiley
All you need is a some asshole with a botnet and you can say bye-bye to all your mined coins.

Well, only time will tell.

Though I think that the fbx incident is more likely than not to be accidental (I wonder what would blockchain analysis by more competent peers reveal, though)

Well with 7.7 million coins I think you will be safe Smiley
