Is it ok/safe to run a single unit using 3 cables that have double 6 pins? 8 pin to dual 6 pin.
I was hoping I could run 1 dedicated cable to each blade, then use the 3rd cable and split it between both blades.
The Corsair CM850 only comes with 3 cables.
Thoughts?
Strato
Should work fine as your still using a single rail PSU. Correct, will work fine. All Corsair PSUs are single rail apart from the AXi's which are toggle-able single-multi.

I am happy with 62
I read that going more than that starts to dramaticlly increase the wattage at the wall. currently it works out slightly less than 1watt per 1gh/s (about 0.95watt @ 800mV). i have a watt-o-meter and my PC and the 2 U3 are draining 162watts 24/7 from which 40watts is the PC then 60watts x 2 from the other PSU
I had a duff one form the same guy I bought these two. I was lucky to find them cheap on amazon because I know if something went bad returns would be a simple.. and my hunch was correct. The second one was running 45ghs and there was nothing I could do to increase it. Returned and the 3rd one runs like the 1st. No problem at all.
24hour mark now broken and niether the fixer upper nor the stock one ZOMBIED... Interesting.
Please upgrade the latest firmware if it still can start to work..RMA is accepted if it is still working on 45G at below codes: cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:0.54 -o stratum.antpool.com:3336 -u antminer_1 -o p2p.antpool.com:25 -u antminer_2 --bmsc-voltage 0830 --bmsc-freq 0982 cannot seem to find any firmware updates on the supportpages? Its not on there yet (bumped for it to be uploaded), in the meantime I've mirrored it here because I already had a copy.

Okay had my antminer c1 7 days and have not overclocked or anything and today I am gettings x's Chain ASICS Frequency Temp X.s errr!!!!!! 2 16 250 44 ooooooox xooooooo
Man I am glad I did not over clock
So what should i do?
I am running on a brand new evga 1300w G2 all 8 pcie hooked up Only miner on that 20amp circuit so shouldnt be a power issue
Got a link for the RMA or should i send it back through amazon (cryptocrane) This Sucks !!!!!
I have 9 s3+'s all overclocked and have never had a x they have been hashing at 505GHS steady for 4 mos. and have never seen a x.
Give it a hard reset (via PSU) before you send it back, and then let us know what voltage setting your on currently.

According to the video on face book with the CEO of bit main the ^ should power two S5 with no issues. the ones i linked on amazon I got deals on as used but were really new and if you know how to you can use the 6 or 7 year warr they come with no question asked if you have to . but right now i can't say i would recommend any thing, waiting for my S5 to come.
Yoshi is not the CEO of Bitmain, its just labelled wrong He's very very important in the US though.

Hey I'd suggest to forum admins open a "Ponzi" category under "Gambling" section. Is it possible? Because main gambling section is turned to trash. Threads like this shouldn't be in the gambling section. Thanks. That would be an admission / facilitation / endorsement of said entities. Its not a good idea.

I keep reading that these machines run warmer. What is acceptable? I currently have my miners in my basement and one of the windows is cracked down there. Temp is around 67 degrees. Since nobody spends time down there it's not an issue.
<65 much preferred, <60s are good.

I have been looking at miner link on the S5. I could use a little help if possible.
Looking at it is the UID is your Bitmain email on account?
Also on Server Addr what should it be set to?
Thanks for any help.
Its not quite ready yet, more info will appear here once its ready.

What do you do in voltage field
Leave it where it is.

I just wish we could get it compiled into BFGMiner or cgminer standalone. I keep messing with them and no luck. I worked CLI to fine tune settings and they still dive off a cliff for some reason. Start out well and then just stop. They are fun I like the way they throttle based on temps and such in a more active way than previous USB miners. Been interesting for sure. You would not happen to have cg or bfg standalone would you? Does this version get rid of the weird BTCTelecom ads in the software? I have no idea, I've never seen that in the first place. No, and don't have nano's either, sorry.

If you need to increase temps a bit you can 'greenhouse' them by putting a crane over the top with a cutout. That way they'll keep an envelope of warmer air around them but still be able to ventilate.

I have seen this question before but could not find a clear answer, all of s3's have 0 in the best share spot, my s2 is fine my s1's are fine. Can anyone shed any light on this, I am running the latest firmware, and have ample power supplies, the units appear to be mining fine too. All the s3's show the same as image below. Thanks in advance for any help! Semp3rfi
Anybody??? CK said that the firmware is bugged if the difficulty set is 2 n. That is, Bitmain's version. You can test it yourself by setting an odd difficulty.

Any good recommendations for a raspberry pi based controller that supports the U3?
Raspian, Minera, MinePeon, anything that will get you cgminer. I am familiar with minera for Gridseed devices but was unable to get it to detect the U3 I was offering this as a suggestion for a future guide from you if you had time to put together a setup guide for Running the U3 off of the Pi to expand off this setup guide. I have also tinkered with Minera but the latest build has an outdated cgminer and wont detect the U3 and the bfgminer works but only hashes at 4GH. I am still tinkering but no clean off the shelf solution to run a Pi with the U3 yet without some tinkering I still go for Raspian because its essentially just a linux environment, so you can put whatever cgminer you want on it. There are obscenely long instructions for that in the Noncetech guide if you want to go from scratch, although other users may be able to provide nearly complete SD card images for Raspbian.

Do you have a Canadian reseller with known stock? Great price, but importing one will kill me
Resellers are unofficial, as anyone can be a reseller. Best bet is a having a good google to see who is listing in CA, then posting here so other members can backtrack or vouch for their legitimacy.

Well, I can see why Bitmain struck the verbiage from their post about running on 9V. This is not authoritative by any stretch, as it's done on a single unit, but undervolting doesn't seem that effective here. I'll have to look into if I can share numbers (it wasn't one I bought for myself or was given as a review, they were purchased by someone for the sake of me testing them for them) but so far I've only gotten the S5 stable at 312.5 at 11.0V, and not stable much under that. If I start at 11V I can lower it to 10.75@300MHz, but I can't get it to fire up from being off at 10.75V at any frequency.
I wonder if Bitmain added that term based on chip efficiency and voltage in testing, and then just multiplied the voltage by 14 for their figures. Hopefully it's just balancing protections added in FW that can be solved later.
The test unit also seems to cut out at 9.45V @ 200MHz even if I start at a higher voltage, and 9.75V @ 250MHz.
If anyone else has had any luck starting these at 10V or under I'd be interested in hearing it.
I've poked the right people who can answer this, they'll be along shortly [after weekend]

Trialing some new formatting tweaks on this guide. Feedback is appreciated.
1) Section colors changed to more eye friendly ones 2) Line breaks changed to width limited images to prevent them filling the entire page width 3) Code boxes enclosed to prevent them filling the entire page width 4) Page will now display in full at ~1350px width. Can't get it down to 1280 due to too much padding in the forum code. Approximately 24% of users will need to zoom out very slightly.

Hello, I received a used S4 today which does not start anymore. After powering it, the green "Alarm" LED is running permanently while the red Fauld LED is blinking all the time. The miner does not start when pushing the power button. Any suggestions? Kind regards
Green is not alarm, that's yellow - right? Sure the cable / outlet is good? Apart from that there isn't much else we can do but RMA the PSU as something has gone wrong in shipping. PM BitmainWarranty to arrange an RMA. Be sure to link to your post describing the issues, what type and how many miners you wish to have repaired/replaced and your bitmaintech.com order number.

Votes:
1) Can you post a key as to the colors please, and is there a significance to the ranking? 2) I'm sure you or someone else will come up with something. I went through about 5 different ideas but they're all abusable in some fashion without moderation. It only takes a teeny amount of moderation (appeal tribunals to remove the most obvious fake stuff) and then plenty of versions become viable and better than current trust. 3) And OH MY GOD YOU CAN USE HTML COLOR CODES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. I've been stuck with green and lime green for years, time to fix 42 guides .

Thanks for your response DolphinHeart.
When I look at the web console we see Chain 1 to 4. If I look at a miner with the fan facing me where are chain 1 to 4?
On my unit it would be the right most unit, but there may not be any pattern to it.

As above, the circuit rating is there to protect the wiring. If you want more, you'd need to replace the cabling. Is there another circuit you could run an extension from? That would be the cheapest option.
The thing is, I'm trying to run it from my detached garage, and it only has 1 outlet =( trying to figure out how to run more than 1 S4. Still nothing stopping you running a 25m reel from the house. If you want this to be a long term thing, pay a local electrician to come install you some beefy 230V lines to your garage. That way you know you're safe and its all good.

Perhaps, but everyone is familiar with some sort of feedback systems, be it Ebay's, OTC, Amazon product reviews, etc. If the purpose of the trust system is to help the newbies, why make it more complicated than they can understand? That said, of course everyone understands we are talking generalization. Some newbies here have never touched cryptocurrencies nor many tech features that we take for granted, and some newbies here have been developing decentralized systems for 30 years. I didn't mean have the newbies decide the depths of the technical features, I mean ask them what would help them out, and then have the older members (people in this meta thread) design a doable system around what they need.
If you have never been scammed, and know with complete certainty that you can avoid doing so in the future, your motivations in the new trust system will be minimally compared to those that actually need it. I personally would be just fine without any sort of trust system, so I probably wouldn't be the best person to design a trust system. However I can understand the need for one. So why not ask the people who will use it what they want and go from there?
I'm starting to feel like a moderated system would solve almost all of our issues. Mods don't even have to do the work as you can set up a tribunal like system as the super popular game League of Legends uses. Because there would be fewer cases and members to vote if people appeal ratings, it would be more appropriate to say have a tribunal of 7 review each case and the evidence users submit. Without moderation, we're struggling to come up with any even remotely viable systems because there's always going to be a way for someone to freely abuse it if we don't set up rules and enforce them. As with this forum, there has to be some level of centralisation for things to actually get going and build a stable base for appropriate decentralisation.
