Patrike,

The GPU settings dialog doesn't list the card name, only the GPU number and a colon.  The values come over from the remote servers, but no card type/name, etc

Am I missing something to enable this?

UPDATE:  This seems to only be on remote miners, on a local one the GPU names are shown.
Is this the "Map to system monitoring" and GPU tab of Awesome Miner? Are you running Remote Agent or the Windows service (Remote Service) on the remote computers? The Remote Agent application should be able to get the GPU names in the "Map to system monitoring" list. Please share any additional details and I will try to figure out if there is a specific scenario where it isn't working. Thanks! In general, Awesome Miner uses a third-party library that uses the AMD and nVidia API's to get information about the GPU's, including their names.

In case it's about MSI Afterburner and the GPU clocking - do you see the GPU names in MSI Afterburner user interface?

Patrike,

(see my other issue with no names on remote AB remoteserver)

More on the GPU setting.  If you use AM to change the overclocking, with the checkboxes to set x at start and y at stop.  Stop does not happen when you manually start mining, the x configuration happens, but if you then manually stop mining, it does not send the y version.  (note, I did clone the x, when I created y, but changed the oc profile to the right version).

Could you please verify the log files (or send them to me view mail) for this scenario? Awesome Miner is writing information about clocking profiles being applied and the exact clocking commands sent to MSI Afterburner. Every time a specific clocking command is sent to MSI Afterburner, you can find "Executing GPU clocking command".

When stopping a miner, it should be possible to see "Set clocking stop profile".

hello

i got a problem suddenly i cant use the deactivate button on my gpu tab in awesome miner anymore.
the deactivate button sjust stayes grayed out regardless which gpu ive selected.

anybody got a clue why thats happening since i used that to just toggle the one gpu i use for gaming so that i can still mine with the other 2 of my 3 cards
This feature is where Awesome Miner tell the mining software to disable or enable the selected GPU while the mining is running. This feature is only available for some mining software that do support it, like sgminer and Claymore. It will be disabled for other software.

Found one more bug.

It happens at benchmarking ehen you have AfterBurner remote support installed and configured.

When benchmarking AM sendd to AB remote server "last used algo" setings for all algos you benchmark.

This is not ok. because SW then gives wrong benchmark results or crashes cards.

You must remove the AB remote server info, then benchmark, then add it again.
I will investigate this scenario. Preferably Awesome Miner should be changed to pick the clocking profile according to the Profit Profile configuration.

Just wanted to toss another request in, I asked a few days ago but it looks like it might have gotten buried.

Can an option in the 'detect pool' rule be added to only check the 'current pool' rather than 'all pools'?

Can we also get a detect (current) algorithm rule?

Thanks!
Thanks for your suggestions. They have been noted.

patrike: is it by design that appearance -> miner view -> list is not saved when miner is in Performance mode?
Yes. When running with a large number of miners, the Compact List mode is using less CPU power.

i see there is 4.7.3 update and also want to know whats the best option to mine using online services static settings: Current, 24 hour avarage estimate or 24 hour avarage actual?
There are probably many opinions on this. In general, Current should be the best, but it can result in a little higher estimates than what you actually get paid for.
Is this really true? I ask because when I switch to current, Awesome Miner switches between algos/pools so often that the earnings (In the earnings column on pools.) that show in my pools are almost nothing.... (there are more earnings shown and they are more spread out across my pools) but the earnings are very low.

However, even when I use the default setting of 24 hour estimate, my earnings still seem not right.... For my test rig alone, Awesome Miner typically (with statistics set to 24 hour estimate and the "Adjust reported revenue for actual payout performance." box checked) will still show a per day profit between $5 to $6. And because there are so many variables, I have been using a separate payment address for just my test rig.... but when I look at my actual earnings in Awesome Miner (total unpaid coin, not USD, YES I AM ACCOUNTING FOR DIPS IN PRICE!), I am seeing something closer to $1.50 to $3 per day...

At this point, I am honestly starting to believe that it would be more profitable to just use Awesome Miner with Nicehash so I can use more up to date miners.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
It's also recommended to set a Threshold to reduce the too frequent changes. You can also test with not having too short profit switching intervals as well.

There is also a quite new feature to adjust the profitability for the Yiimp pools based on their actual performance over the last few days. When enabled, Awesome Miner will show lower profit estimations, but they might be a bit more realistic. Please see "Adjust reported revenue" at the bottom of this page:

2868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: No console window - miner runs from ProgramData folder, not %appdata%\AM folder on: April 16, 2018, 06:36:16 PM
This only happens on one of my 18 remote managed miners. The DSTM miner (zm) is running with no console window from the ProgramData\AwesomeMiner folder, which is a duplicate folder of %appdata%\AwesomeMiner. If I upgrade the Remote agent it upgrades the ProgramData\AwesomeMiner folder but not  folder %appdata%\AwesomeMiner.

Then if I delete the duplicate ProgramData\AwesomeMiner folder and uninstall/re-install the Remote Agent,  the  folder %appdata%\AwesomeMiner is created and the miner runs with console window as normal. But after a few restarts the duplicate ProgramData\AwesomeMiner folder is somehow created again. Then I am back to running the miner without console window.
Are you running both Remote Agent and the Remote Service (Windows Service) at the same time? Please open the Remote Service Configuration Tool (see http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/remoteagent.aspx) and make sure that the first section "Service Status" indicates "Service not installed". If not, stop it and uninstall it using the buttons.

If you launch mining software from a Windows service, the console window will not be visible as a Windows service never can make anything show on the desktop.

I can't log in to any Suprnova pool now.  Supernova logins consist of Weblogin.Worker but only the Weblogin is being passed on the command line.  This used to work, did something break in the latest releases?  I don't know what else the problem could be, I haven't changed anything that I know of.
Please share additional details about how the pool and miner is configured, and also the Diagnostics output that highlights the issue.

Hello Patrike,

I had a rig that for some reason can not upgrade to the 4.7.3 remote service.  It can't be uninstalled manually because it says it's not installed... though it's still running, AM can't control the rig.  I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both services with the Remote Service Configuration tool, but that doesn't seem to do any good.  When I try to manually install the new 4.7.3 MSI it says it can't find a noteservice.msi to complete the uninstallation of the old 4.7.2 service.  I've look on my other rigs that did upgrade successfully, but this MSI is no where to be found.

Are there any manual steps to uninstallation/cleanup of the remote service from a rig so I can start fresh?
Hi,

Please check out this tool from Microsoft that can be used when a MSI-based installer isn't behaving as it should - and this can be used to force a removal:

Patrike, BTCP included by default in the 4.7.3?  How is it shown?  I doesn't exist in the coin listing, I can't select it and add it as a pool coin, etc?

Do tell?  Cuz I mine this all the time, and have been using the external api program to pull in the data

UPDATE: are you just talking about the coin graphic, because indeed that works now, but the coin isn't listed in any listing until I ran the external api program that pulls the data

graphics just put appropriate image file in %appdata% AM folder as BTCP.png

coin isn't listed in the whattomine coins.json, you have to add it yourself if haven't done so, no need for external program unless whattomine info is borked (such as LUXcoin)
http://whattomine.com/coins/230.json

yeah, that doesn't help much because WTM isn't populating price, value, etc.  So the external thing does all that for me for now until it gets listed on a real exchange, then WTM should work.

So at least I have the icon, etc, but everything else is coming from the external api program
BTCP was supposed to be included by default in the last release, but I noticed a bug where it was only automatically added if you had any other custom JSON URL's specified. I will correct that. The coin image should however be available already.

Your observation is correct that right now WhatToMine doesn't list any exchange rate for this coin. But once that's available, it will of course be available in Awesome Miner automatically.

Patrike:

Any new updates on you checking into the code of NemoMiner to improve the profit switching of AwesomeMiner?

The reason i ask is im nearing my 2 month mark of running 1 GPU on AM and 1 GPU on NM from the same watercooled PC using the same miners per algo comparison test. The margin of actual payout between the 2 wallets has grown wider.....
I've not checked the that code, but since version 4.7 you have the feature "Adjust reported revenue" that is similar to what you requested earlier.
http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/coinstats.aspx

All statistics from the Yiimp-based pools are collected in the cloud and and the estimated and actual payouts are compared - and the result is a percentage value that Awesome Miner can use. When you enable this feature, you can see it on the Online Services tab for each pool.
2874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: April 15, 2018, 09:50:23 AM
After i upgraded to 4.7.1 my gpu clocking profiles are not applied when algo switch happens.
Manually I can set gpu clocking in the gpu settings form, so I think the Afterburner integration is working properly.
Now I am using 4.7.2 but the bug still reproducable.
Is it possible to verify from the Awesome Miner log file (toolbar: Tools -> Log File) if Awesome Miner is sending any clocking commands to MSI Afterburner? Search for "Executing GPU clocking command".
2875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: April 15, 2018, 09:47:45 AM
Hey another request, this time im being lazy not about to look though 286 pages here Smiley sadly so yell at me if you must .

here goes

can you add https://prohashing.com  to the Pool balance list it works a lot like mining pool hub does with API key's but only uses two ports to get to get to it that i know of, not sure if that makes it a issue .

prohashing.com:3333

proxy.prohashing.com:443

Prohashing is very special as it uses the password field to specify algorithm information, and the Pool URL is always "prohashing.com:3333" no matter of what is being mined. Because of this special design of prohashing, it's not possible for any software to look at the Pool URL and see which coin or algorithm is being mined - all of them look identical. This is a major drawback in the design of prohashing and it will for that reason be difficult supported with profit information from Awesome Miner. I'm not saying that's impossible, just that this pool has a special design that doesn't work well with any management application.
2876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: April 15, 2018, 09:43:17 AM
Awesome Miner version 4.7.2

- Network scan for ASIC miners can include miners with blocked API, but with a response on the web port
- Improved rule trigger for Revenue/Profit to also support Profit Profiles
- Added new mining software: Ravencoin Miner for X16r algorithm
- XMRig 4.6 Beta for CPU, AMD and nVidia, with support for more kinds of Cryptonight algorithms
- Adjust to new Nicehash Nist5 unit reporting in TH/s
- Adjust to new Mining Pool Hub reporting of CryptonightV7 profit information
- Correction to benchmarking of XMRig when a specific GPU was selected

Can you prease give back the "domain matching" to "online services"... now it's gone and i can not use/set SSL for MPH

Thank's
In the latest release I added a feature when you can set URL prefix (like ssl://) for each entry in Options dialog, Online Services. This should be a more flexible solution. Please let me know your feedback on this.
2877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: April 15, 2018, 09:39:08 AM
Hello. So I managed to setup mining at Blazepool. It was quite a bit of work getting it setup, and I'm a little proud of myself for sticking with it, and getting it up and working. I had to read instructions, and there was a bit of trial and error, but it's up and running. I am having an issue though, so I'm here for the Awesome support that we're all so lucky to have. So, Qubit is showing profit of $4750.00 a day, on my Baikal Giant+, that's obviously wrong (unfortunately). It should be reading $4.75, so to resolve it, I tried going to user defined online services and editing the Blazepool Qubit entry. I changed the profit factor to .001, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I'm thinking even if the place is still wrong, it still should of changed the decimal point place. Kinda stumped here at this point. This same issue has prevented me from adding Starpool (most of the decimal points are wrong, and I can't seem to get them to change places the way I'm trying) Is there another trick I'm missing to get this to change, or is there a bug or something? Thanks for all the hard work Patrike! Almost up to 10 miners, will be upgrading soon, and looking forward to gaining even more features!
Thanks for your feedback. Setting Profit Factor to 0.001 should have been the solution. It can be set per entry in the Options dialog, Online Services section and will only be applicable for that pool. You may have to hit the Update Now button in the Online Services tab and wait a moment before the numbers are updated.

When adding some custom pools, Awesome Miner simply doesn't know the unit the pool uses, and that's why it you sometimes get 1000 times too large numbers. When these pools are reporting profitability, it can look like "0.00123" when Awesome Miner get the information. But for some algorithms this indicates BTC/MH/s while it represents BTC/GH/s for others - and there is no way of telling from the numbers.

This is also the reason why whenever there is a change at the pools to report in GH/s instead MH/s, the profit numbers becomes incorrect in Awesome Miner and I need to release a new version to adjust to it. In a perfect world, the pools would tell which unit (MH or GH) there were reporting in, but that's not the case.

Blazepool is also included by default in the latest release.

Why is XMR-STAK still defined as just CN algo and not CNv7 ?

When i add external miners for CNv7 miner XMR-STAK is grayed out
The indication with gray text is just a way for Awesome Miner to indicate what mining software it thinks you can use for a specific algorithm. You can still select XMR-Stak even if it's gray - it's not disabled.

I will update the next release to not make CNv7 gray for XMR-Stak.

I've read through the GPU Clocking page and am unable to find how Clocking Profiles Groups are applied.  I'm assuming I can create the profiles and apply it to a specific rig and it will set the various OC settings since it's a mixed-card rig?  Am I understanding this feature wrong or how do I go about applying the profile groups I created?
It's correct that if you have mixed cards, you need to define several profiles, and then one group profile to bring them together and specify which GPU (either by name or ID) that should get the different profiles you defined.

You can define that a clocking profile (or group) should be applied when a miner is started to stopped. For a Managed Miner, you define this in the Properties of the miner, GPU Clocking Profiles section. If you are using the profit switcher, this can be configured in the Edit Profit Profile dialog, where you for each algorithm in the list can define a profile to use when starting and stopping.
