2901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ENaira launch. on: October 25, 2021, 10:21:11 PM
This post has nothing to do with Beginners and help. It should be moved to altcoin discussion board

If I recall correctly, didn't your Government ban Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency transactions a few months ago?
What's the point of the new digital currency, then?

Personally, If I was from Nigeria, I wouldn't be excited about the new development at all. It's no different from the fiat you have been trying to avoid. There are reasons people specifically want to use cryptocurrencies. One of them is privacy.
2902  Other / Meta / Re: About Serious Discussion on: October 25, 2021, 09:01:40 AM
I may add, this thread was intended to get some general guidelines about what should or not go there; not discussing a particular report

The guidelines are in the sticky

There is not so much restriction to what might be discussed there, so long as it meets the standards. There is nothing that points out that is supposed to be a board for only Bitcoin related discussion

Humor is OK as long as it has a point. Any topic of conversation is allowed here, including altcoin talk, except:

 - If you want a response from forum administration, meta talk goes in Meta.
 - Altcoin talk that is advertisement/pump is not allowed, since no advertisement is allowed here.
 - Stuff globally disallowed/restricted (eg. Investigations content) is not allowed.
2903  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Poolin Wallet - A one-stop platform for your crypto assets. on: October 25, 2021, 06:44:18 AM
It does not look like they are. I looked all over the poolin.com site and did not see any mention of it.
Well they do mention them under mining instructions - https://www.poolin.com/mining-instructions

Hi, we are not affiliated with or part of the Poolin mining pool, we are different products, and the Poolin Wallet provides various crypto investment and management products to the crypto hodlers with high yield earning and low borrowing rates.
Are you sure you know what you are talking about?

If you are not affiliated with poolin.com then why are they mentioning your wallet in their official site?

Members be very careful about this custodial wallet. They will hold your freshly mined coins and ask for KYC verification like in this case.

HEADS UP! If you care about your privacy, don't trust POOLIN with your crypto for they will require foto / face ID to withdraw funds!

I signed to POOLIN for BTC mining purposes, unfortunately had to sell the miner and still had 270k in my funds, bellow the minimum automatic payment threshold. I needed to either start mining again or could withdraw funds to pooling wallet and then send to any other address. Unfortunately upon withdrawing to my temporary pooling wallet, i'm required fotos of my national ID card, drivers license and full face recognition ! WTF i'm so furious with this, who in their right minds will give their identity information to China !??

It's not a huge loss, but a loss nonetheless, never trust these guys again!
2904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone have idea propitability of rx570 4g? And which miner do you use? on: October 24, 2021, 10:43:35 PM
Probably Ravencoin tops the list according to whattomine.com

Check out here for details and estimations to give you a clear picture - https://whattomine.com/gpus/26-amd-radeon-rx-570-4gb?cost=0.1&button=
Please note that the power cost of $0.1 was used to calculate the estimations
2905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I have Nvidia GTX 2070 Super, Which Coin Would be better for me? on: October 23, 2021, 10:55:30 PM
Ethereum is the most profitable coin for your graphics card right now
https://whattomine.com/gpus/55-nvidia-geforce-rtx-2070-super?cost=0.1
I am a bit curious about Whattomine estimations.

There are some GPU's especially those in gaming laptops and computers that are LHR versions. Does whattomine take into account the LHR version hashrate or the estimations are purely for non-LHR GPUs?

2907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PoW vs PoS on: October 23, 2021, 07:54:26 AM
Bitcoin is PoW, it is in the whitepaper. However, if everybody agrees, yes bitcoin may switch to PoS as well but I don't think it is going to happen.
It is certainly never going to happen, maybe in another lifetime or metaverse, not this one  Wink

Some people say PoS is not as safe as PoW and we still don't know if this is right. Eth and cardano doing well so far. So maybe, the hesitations might be baseless.
Time will tell, PoS hasn't been fully implemented on ETH network. As for Cardano, no one is sure how things would be if the network had huge transaction volumes.

The rest of the other PoS experiments dubbed Ethereum killers in the previous bull run like EOS, TRON are already leaving below expectations in terms of market value
2908  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance - World's Leading Cryptocurrency Exchange on: October 23, 2021, 07:27:15 AM
@Binance Coin

I understand it was the trader's fault, but what measure does Binance have in place to prevent such a thing from happening in the future, even if it was a bug on the trading algo from the client's side?

Shouldn't you guys implement like a feature that can automatically cancel one huge order that fills up the thin orderbook to a certain percentage in a matter of seconds?
2909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin flash crashes to $8200 at Binance.us on: October 22, 2021, 01:32:29 AM
Imagine if you had a long on there that was liquidated, damn. Alternatively there will be some shorters & people who had stink low bids in feeling happy tonight Cheesy
Good thing it was a spot market and I don't think Binance.us offer trading derivatives.

However, I feel for the whale who decided to unload that much BTC at once. I mean, who the hell would be happy to sell off their BTC they held at 65K at 8K?
2910  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How to deposit and withdraw on exchange on: October 22, 2021, 01:24:22 AM
Thank for your correction I really appreciate.
I know coinsbit is not really a reputable exchange but some people will want to buy and hold some coins which they believe it will do well in future and some might be listed on coinsbit alone, thats why I decided to add the exchange.
It's not just an exchange that is "not really reputable" The exchange is a proven scam.

Why would you want to promote a scam or encourage people to register and deposit their assets in a scam exchange?
What is the point of buying coins listed in coinsbit alone if the trader is going to get his assets scammed by them?

Please consider revising your post. You made this post, remember newbies will get it through Google search.
2911  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Result from Backtesting in TradingView on: October 22, 2021, 01:04:18 AM
Thank you everyone for the responses but I was asking a different thing.
I'm using this tool in backtesting
Using it 100 times for example. How can I at the end check the total result of my testing (these 100 times Long / Short position tools)
https://postimg.cc/YGF6Dcrz
Since you did it manually, it means even reading the results will be done manually. Tradingview won't save the results.

If you have some knowledge about pine script language, or you can even learn it. You can actually code and automate your strategy and then backtest it using the strategy tester which is available on trading view. You will be able to automatically see the results.

There are also some open-source strategies already available in the trading view public library. You can get one which is closest to your strategy, modify it and the back test it.

This is how the strategy tester will show the results of your strategy;

2912  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with leverage on: October 22, 2021, 12:37:11 AM
I'd always assumed that if in order to be liquidated BTC would need to go down 1/3 from my initial buy in but I just had a thought that got me concerned.

Let's say for arguments sake that I bought in $1000 with BTC price at $10,000 which has now doubled to $2,000 after Bitcoin went up to $13,333 (I'm not sure that my math is right but anyway).

I would assume that Bitcoin would have needed to go down $6,666 in order for my initial stake to be liquidated and I was assuming that this would still be the amount that Bitcoin would need to go to, however now I'm a bit worried that my initial stake is irrelevant and that Bitcoin would need to drop 33% from the $13,333 that it's at now in order for me to be liquidated meaning that no matter how high Bitcoin goes, if it goes down 33% from that high I could be liquidated.

Just in case that explanation wasn't clear enough, if you bought 1 BTC at a 2X leverage when BTC was $10k in October last year and rode it all the way up to $65k and you had something like $120k BTC at that point, would you then have been liquidated when BTC dropped  over 50% to $29k or would your BTC have just gone down to the same as it would have been at $29k on the way up?

Is it possible that somebody could confirm which of these is correct please?

Thanks

Just for reference in this example. If you opened 2x long position at $10,000. The Liquidation price would be set at ~$6,690. Let say Bitcoin went all the way to $65K without ever crossing the $6,690 liquidation price, but then it started dropping from $65K to $20K. Your position would still be safe. The only difference will be the change in the value of your unrealized profit and maybe fees due to funding rate.

Your margin only gets liquidated once the mark price drops past $6,690
2913  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I lost my UST in kucoin exchange on: October 21, 2021, 11:57:24 PM
There is also a possibility that OP did not Memo. Without the memo in the transaction, Kucoin can not know which account to credit the UST to. So even if the transaction has got over 15 confirmations, nothing will be credited to your account.

Your only option is to contact support if this is the mistake you made.
2914  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam] Safepal wallet Malicious Firefox add-on on: October 21, 2021, 11:40:00 PM
People should always be educated if the add ons are legit by checking on the home page of the official website and if it's not available on the website take your time to send a ticket to double-check if the add ons is the official ones, there are fake reviews on add ons just like they do on Playstore and Google map, I have seen developers hiring and paying people to give fake reviews.
There is a lot of material educating people on how to be security conscious and keeping safe from the malicious apps and website but some people continue to be careless anyway

I also found the same thing about Safepal add-ons on google chrome and it seems the scammers not only put it in the Mozilla browser but also in Chrome.
We should report the apps so that they get taken down. It's surprising that the app was published almost a year ago, and the trick they used was to present it as a theme. I have reported it.
2915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: DogeChain Password Recovery Help on: October 21, 2021, 10:23:35 PM
It is both possible to brute force the dogechain password AND to reset the 2fa.

We have done this for several clients
/KX
Let's assume you are able to Brute force the dogechain password. How will OP be able to reset the 2FA given the fact that they can't even access the account?
Dogechain also claims in the terms and conditions that they won't help with any password or 2FA resetting.
2916  Economy / Reputation / Re: LOW COMMUNICATION RATE on: October 19, 2021, 11:47:41 PM
@Lovesmayfamilies and The Pharmacist. I started an accusation against a project and its bounty manager and now it looks like you wants to target anyone who is accusing them, it looks like you are getting paid to defend them. accuse the complainant so that the topic will be diverted and now i need to KYC to you that i am not Stunzz.
Why would you think @Lovesmayfamilies and @The Pharmacist got paid by shitcoin projects that can't even afford to pay in Bitcoin let alone pay you shit tokens? Grin

You surely must be so delusional, isn't it?

I am going to add some negative feedback on your account and alt account. I also crave to be accused of being paid by a shitcoin project.
2917  Other / Archival / Re: [MARATHON] Trading on 1/20 of the deposit on: October 19, 2021, 11:30:16 PM
You have chosen a very good time to start the marathon. I think that the success of trading in the first weeks is due to the fact that we are in a bull market. As they say, in a bull market, even a beginner gets a profit) It will be interesting to see the trading results when the market changes its direction. It is much more difficult to keep your deposit in a bear market than to make a profit on a bullish one.
By the way OP is a fan of shorting in case you were not aware  Wink
So saying the trades were a success because it's a bull market would be a little unfair, especially if someone is trading futures and has even lost some trades. If it was spot market, I would totally agree with you.

Just like him. I find shorting much easier than longing, and right now. I am barely trading futures because of the market pump. Kudos to him.
2918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Too good to be true?! on: October 19, 2021, 10:48:39 PM
I understand that, but if I find a physical person from whom to buy it in this case there will be no delay
What makes you think that that physical person would be willing to sell you the same miner at the same price, even with such "insane" daily profits that they could make themselves?

Obviously, but they time they decide to sell it to you, it won't be that profitable anymore.

no not at all I understood the risks linked to ASIC, ether, etc

I'm just asking a simple question, I know it's not that simple and about E9 if the mining profits stay like this or even decrease it will still be huge and yes E9 mining can make you rich (for those who can afford it) ^^
Look, I don't think anyone is trying to discourage you here. Most members are trying to advise you based on what they have seen in the past. They are simply trying to make you look at the bigger picture so that you are prepared in case things don't go as you expected.
2919  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase, how to contact support on: October 19, 2021, 08:50:47 PM
Which coinbase "wallet" are you referring to?

Is it coinbase the noncustodial software wallet (https://wallet.coinbase.com) or
coinbase.com the custodial web wallet?

Also check the Transaction ID to be sure if the transaction was confirmed?
2920  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by coindeal on: October 19, 2021, 08:34:48 PM
They still have trading volume, and with their ETH/BTC pair, it has about $29M 24-h trading volume. But other trading pairs, they are almost nonexistent. Don't know if it is real or not. But the OP should have checked first the feedback before sending that amount of btc. Not small in this time of crisis. Maybe, there's some promo or bonus why he was tempted sending that amount to this exchange.
Obviously the figures are fake. Scam exchanges inflate their trading volume figures every time

I think they will never answer my tiket they removed my balance and dont answer anymore they fucked me good hope i find someone of them he will pay i will not fogot this even is its Pass 30 years
It's a sad incident, but it should be a huge lesson to you. Stick with popular and reputable exchanges. If you are not sure about the exchange. Ask the community. You will get appropriate answers and no one will bash you for seeking knowledge.
