what is the different between monerowallet.com and mymonero.com?

I think mymonero makes you log in with list of words, and monerowallet lets you set up a user/pw more like most websites.
2902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 27, 2015, 12:45:34 PM
Bad news.

If you thought that bitcointalk trolls were isolated in this forum, think again. They have recently started in invade http://www.reddit.com/r/monero

at least https://forum.getmonero.org/ seems safe for now and has been more active recently.

Ignore the trolls! Fighting with them only leads to more trolling

Quote from: kazuki49
Unfortunately, if you think we are going to be free of trolls, it hasn't even begun yet, just look at a comment session about Bitcoin on a mainstream article... but the point of moving the conversation to /r/monero and the forums is so the mods can ban the trolls so people can actually have a conversation, think of it like our home, bitcointalk is a nobody's land.

Is it just me, or do we have a discussion about trolls every week?

I think I've seen enough trolling and discussion thereof that I'm ready to defend my doctorate in trollology  Tongue
2903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: July 27, 2015, 04:25:00 AM
Is child_harold a BCN troll or an XMR dble agent?

or maybe a BCN triple agent ... god forbid, an XMR quadruple agent!

the more he posts on all this stuff in favor of bytecoin the worse BCN looks, so my hunch is he's actually rooting for XMR (i.e. dble or quadruple agent). Are you getting angry PM's from the bytecoin crew?

lols, my bet is on monero sextuple agent Cheesy
2904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Human Mining - Decentralized MMO and Crypto Game on: July 26, 2015, 09:18:08 PM
Sparsely playing today i made around 3.5k HUCs - mostly from PvP and stealing the Crown of Fortune (apologies jokowi/dodol/batman whomever you are) - using the Unity client and alarms for when someone was near - on my laptop at a friends, vpn'd to my home network with the daemon running.

14400 coins are generated each day, atm it's pretty fair game - although be wary of combat - takes some getting used to and also needs some additional tweaks/addons at the next hardfork to make it more skill based and fun.. although there is a "knack" to it still atm.

Good luck Smiley

p.s. if you are using the free Unity3d Client - i noticed a bug which sometimes can occur when one of your player dies - some of your players may disappear from the right hand column but will still display on the map with an arrow. As a precautionary measure until it's fixed, i recommend restarting the unity client if any of your players die.

Lucky YOU!! I dont have a chance.. because I cant start playing.. 200HUC.. but ok.. and you cant get them anywhere Smiley
cant buy or can you please tell me where I can Buy some HUC? to even start trying to play..
thanx ..peace

I'm sure you can buy/trade them for btc at poloniex.com and I think also at cryptsy.com
2905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: moneroaddress.org is it safe? on: July 26, 2015, 05:09:10 PM
If you ask it it will end up as the last reply, I'm sure you will get a good answer there.

I haven't used moneroaddress yet but AFAIK it is as safe as bitaddress, but you should ask it in the main thread for confirmation.

So where did you obtain your Monero wallet(s)?

I use simplewallet, the default client. You can generate an address offline, without syncing the entire blockchain, and there is a remote node available so if you want you can even check balance without syncing the blockchain.
2906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: July 26, 2015, 04:49:28 PM
Removing untraceability does not remove the privacy of a CryptoNote coin. The anonymity is achieved through both untraceability (ringsig) and unlinkability (stealth addresses). Even if all txouts are deanonymized, it doesn't reduce that much. From this perspective, CryptoNote without ringsig is much more private and secure than Bitcoin, as nodoby will ever be able to link to particular transactions (and even outputs) to one wallet. The ambiguity level is reduced to zero, but all it reveals is what txouts have been spent.

So what you're seeing is, "Even if there is an 80% premine, don't worry it only breaks half of the privacy features"?

Why should anyone take that risk when they can get an exact mirror of the code with definitely no premine with dashcoin? Or use a very similar codebase with additional features (and no risk of ring signature breaking premine) from any of the other available cryptonotes?

Anyway, not trying to beat a dead horse, I just don't understand why anyone would use a coin where one of the main selling points may be compromised, when there are alternatives that are clearly not compromised available.
2907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: July 26, 2015, 02:05:59 PM

Scams are not usually associated with true innovation. Bytecoin is a groundbreaking anonymous crypto-currency and the first of its kind. Radically different to Bitcoin, Bytecoin is arguably the most significant crypto-currency advancement since Bitcoin itself. I wanna see what anon tech they develop next for the betterment of man. You dont have to invest in bytecoin to reap its rewards.

This is probably true, but in their case, they could launch the scam, and then launch several other cryptos based on the same source code (bitmonero, quazarcoin, phantomcoin?, ducknote, monetaverde, aeon, etc.) and kind of hedge their bets. If it was truly to prevent this type of attack described in the paper linked above, why wouldn't they just send the 80% premine to a burn address and release the viewkey?

Why does dwarfpool show that their pool hashrate is significantly higher than network rate:
http://dwarfpool.com/grs
?

Suprnova is a bit smaller, but if you add Suprnova's reported hashrate with dwarfpool, it's like triple the network hashrate that either of them or the block explorers report.

Huh
2909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: July 26, 2015, 12:06:24 PM

If I know something about bytcoin devs, is that they don't rush things. You can learn how they test everything in their blog.

Keep calm, because they gonna deliver... Wink

haha, that made me laugh, if the bytecoin devs were in the habit of rushing they wouldn't have had time to 80% mine the coin before anyone else heard of it lol

how do you guys see this ending? the scam wash-up I mean

Invest or don't. Or just stick around to see what the innovators/cypherpunks who brought the world the very first crytonote coin (and maybe cryptonote itself) have for us next in 1.0.6 (multi-addressing for RPC Wallet to get rid of payment IDs and crypto improvements)

It was always about the anon. And it always will be.

The problem is for Bytecoin that the anon may be broken. You have been posing many questions about Bytecoin's/Cryptonote's history for the last several weeks/months. Although you seem to come down on the side of believing they Bytecoin dev(s) story about mining on the deepdarkscarynet for two years, many others are skeptical, such as myself, acdc, and NASdaq. If you think there's a possibility that one person/entity controls ~80% of the coins/UTXOs, then the anonymity afforded by ring signatures is broken; see here for gory math details:

Supernet seems like an IPO vaporware scam. I'm not hoping that Burst gets involved in any way, and I don't see why they would invite another NXT-based coin into the fold anyway.

Navigate to the folder where you have simplewallet.exe, but don't open it. Hold shift and right-click on folder and select "Open command window here", and then type exactly what myagui suggested:
Code:
simplewallet.exe --restore-deterministic-wallet

re: Huntercoin, they've developed a Unity client that can be run on Android devices. So, at the moment you still have to run your own node, but I believe it's planned in the very near future that they will offer a remote node(s), that you can log into using the Unity client as a kind of SPV wallet, so the blockchain won't need to be synced for individual users - it will be lightweight game you can play on your phone/pc/tablet/etc.
2915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed[Bittrex/Poloniex]GPU Released on: July 23, 2015, 01:47:06 AM
Guess this answers the question if Boolberry is still a SuperNET coin:
http://cointelegraph.com/news/114915/what-debate-nxt-votes-unanimously-to-add-coin-mixing-anonymity

Ring sigs so much better than mixing. Idiots.

Typical Supernet...announce and hype vapor projects faster than anything can actually be finished.

Where's that Pangea Poker demo that was due in April?   Roll Eyes

If supernet proceeds with this plan and does not utilize cryptonote it will lose a lot of credibility in my eyes

lol supernet has credibility?

HOW ABOUT A BIG MMORPG/MMORTS GAME (Online: Like e-Republic but with cryptocurrencies?)

There are tons of private servers for any MMO game, why can't anyone create any MMO private server based on Bitcoin or other Crypto?

Did you even look into Huntercoin? It is a MMORTS (it's turn-based, but each turn is one-block, so it is real time, kind of).

hardfork seems ok so far.

What was the Hardfork for?  Does HUC have max supply of 21 million just like Bitcoin?

Finally, what are your long term plans for HUC?  I ask cause a game won't ne enough, lots of other alts will have games as well.  TIA!

Question on reward was answered a few pages back, not sure why it's not listed on first post or huntercoin.org (at least not prominently):

How long until block reward halving and how many coins are mined by now?

42million coins total, 7.5million coins in circulation, block halving should be every 4 years (2.5 to go - i believe).

You can use the RPC call which Domob added

analyseutxo:

Code:
{
    "height" : 734599,
    "num_utxo" : 371802,
    "moneysupply" : {

316k coins in the game fund with be distributed through NPCs and through the Crown of Fortune in a future update.
2918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of altcoins that can be obtained by gaming on: July 20, 2015, 04:04:56 AM
Huntercoin is a "game"/coin that emits 80% of its coins through a process referred to as human-mining.

2920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Shitcoin Cleanout and Clean Up Has Begun- Join the Revolution- Re-open on: July 17, 2015, 01:59:02 PM
yes problem is crypto is just full of scamcoins now, too many to clean up, and many scaryingling doing every well on the crypto charts, sometimes the more you expose them the better they do  Sad

now my definition of a scamcoin is one created for the purpose of making the devs fiat. all ico, premines fit this category.

only premine that is acceptable, is when by design its distribution methods is via (properly controlled and documented) giveaways or similar.

Has this ever happened?

Good point, I'm not sure that it has, never perfectly too my knowledge.

clam could be something like that or at least closer than most other distribution mdoels so far. though it's not possible to tell if the devs did create some kind of ninja-premine for themselves by choosing a certain date that would benefit them.

To my knowledge Clam couldn't have a Premine since it was distributed among addresses equally by a certain date
The only way to premine in the developer sense was to have a significant list of transactions to withdraw clams from at distribution
That said staking offsets a lot of that as the clam supply has grown a fair bit since then.

Clam could have very easily had a pre/ninja/instamine if the developers (who set the cutoff date), created a shitload of dust addresses in doge, ltc, or btc blockchain. It probably would have cost them less than a penny to create thousands and thousands of doge addresses above the dust limit. I think it's a pretty poor distribution model.
