@fishbonez11 base sa napanood ko sa video, pwedeng ma-classify siya as a shill account. Not that it's against the forum rules pero kapag napansin yan ng mga shill busters dito sa forum, malaki tyansa na mababawasan reputation niya at yung project na pino-promote niya dito. Maliban dyan, pasok pa sa watchlist nila.

2922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 06, 2020, 05:28:02 AM
~ I remember Damian Lillard, he should play then as Blazers might make it to the playoffs. Throw away his own desire as I don't see any wrong with the format. Every remaining game really matters so as much as possible, teams should be healthy and complete.
The irony though is that Blazers voted no to the proposal  Grin
I don't know why but maybe they thought it's useless because Dame won't play seriously  Huh

~
It sounds exhausting and they should provide time for rest before they start the playoffs again.
Now, they will learn something from this. Aim for the top to avoid unnecessary games that will fatigue the team.  Grin
That extra two games (or one if 8th seed wins game 1 against 9th) won't matter much I think. It's been a long lay off and they probably need it to stay more fit for the playoff. It really sounds weird to me to hear or read the word "rest" right now.

I was hoping to see the game schedules but it's not available yet on NBA's website. I bet it would be packed.

For the Nets fans waiting for Durant to play, he's already ruled out playing for the 2019-2020 season. I guess he learned how not to rush in while recovering from an injury when he was in GS. Good choice. Kevin Durant confirms he won't return for NBA restart
2923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 06, 2020, 04:23:13 AM
Well, well, well....

Masvidal asked for a release from UFC if he's not going to get the fight and money he wants - Disrespected’ Jorge Masvidal aligns with Jon Jones, asks for UFC release

He said:
Quote
If I’m not worth it let me go. Why make me fight for half of what I made on my last fight because the other dude can’t draw? Don’t tell me about a pandemic when reports today show highest stock market has ever been. Everybody getting back to work and you buying an island. Stop playing us and the fans.

He then went on and threw shade at anyone who'll criticize his statements
Quote
Watch the company men and the UFC white knights come out and condemn my train of thought, You’ll quickly see who’s in their pockets.

Dana White's response:

Anybody that doesn’t want to fight doesn’t have to fight, including Masvidal and Jon Jones and all these other guys. It doesn’t have to be because of the pandemic. These guys are independent contractors. This isn’t like the NFL where I can make you: ‘You come to practice and you do this or you’re going to get fined or you’re going to get this.’ These guys can do whatever they want. They can say whatever they want.

… We’re not begging people to fight. We’re offering fights because in our contract, I have to give you three fights a year. You have the ability to turn them down and not take them.

^ In other words, no fighter is indispensable. Unless the organization becomes unionized, UFC can still do whatever they want.

I don't know about you but I think he deserves to get paid more but the timing of his demands was just off. Not at a time when the world economy is still recovering from the pandemic. Not at a time when the UFC probably spent more than ever to set up an event.

2925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao Might Fight Golovkin on: June 05, 2020, 03:02:41 PM
Well, I am not expecting this match up but I kinda like the idea. If he's not gonna get Mayweather then setting a new target that's equally interesting is not bad at all. I can consider this as a legacy fight for both boxers. I bet GGG's camp would easily accept this if offered with decent terms.

~ I'm wonder who is the favorite between the two based on the betting odds.
Younger, taller, and at his comfort weight class - it has to be GGG.

At least that's what I want to happen so I can bet on Manny with better odds  Grin
2926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 05, 2020, 02:31:30 PM
Even how Helpful this is for the government still this is a Pandemic, while the government it self is pushing to tell people staying inside their houses even the lockdown or quarantine is stopped then they are allowing Gamblers just because there are safety precautions ?
It's like you are living in another country. Did you not read that almost anyone is allowed to go out now that ECQ was lifted? Under GCQ, you can go out but you are still required to wear mask and practice social distancing.

You argue why they would allow gamblers just because there are safety precautions? Well, it's GCQ. Besides, other establishments are already allowed to open at a limited capacity, why not add another that's revenue generating like land-based casinos? Borrowing from @chaser15, they are most likely the best at implementing safety measures.

In addition, the two months lockdown is to help flatten the curve and give time for the government to prepare health facilities for covid-19 patients. I think they've achieved that (especially the facilities). Sooner or later, majority of the businesses will be allowed to open and public transportation will resume because the economy needs to recover. All that while the risk of infection is still present and the vaccine not coming anytime soon. That's the reality we are in right now.

Sorry mate even how hard i try to understand yet there are part that is not allowable (though we have our own opinion in this matter and i respect yours so please try to respect mine)
I'm just showing you the logic or the position of the government if they approve land-based casinos to reopen at a limited capacity. One of the economic managers already mentioned before that the revenues from the gambling industry is essential. He gave that statement at the height of POGO reopening issue. I read that in a news article but can't remember which one. You are free to reject that if you want.

2927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ‘Bitcoin and Black America’ Author: Protest by Buying BTC on: June 05, 2020, 01:53:19 PM
~
- are they not transforming the protests into problem that should not be discussed at this time?
- are they not using bitcoin to join the fight against racism?

Mate, I hope this is the last topic here about bitcoin, protests, riots and lootings in America.

I didn't read the whole book but it somehow highlights the alleged "racism" or favoritism by financial institutions (i.e. financial services not equally given to both Blacks and Whites). To be honest, it looks like they're also using their color to push their own agenda.

It looks like this:

Mr. Floyd (RIP) is a Black man. Blacks don't receive the same financial services like Whites. Therefore buy bitcoin because bitcoin is not controlled by any financial institution.

^ It's probably not an accurate representation but that's how I generally see it.

2929  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Ethereum 2.0 speculation. on: June 05, 2020, 06:35:07 AM

I say they are in a unique situation and I can see why they are very careful in with the migration and upgrade.

Phase 1.5 is what interest me the most

Quote
Phase 1.5 is the integration of Ethereum mainnet into the new eth2 consensus mechanism as a shard (existing as one of the many shards created in Phase 1). Instead of the Ethereum we know and love being built by a proof-of-work mining algorithm, it will be built by the eth2 validators. For existing applications and users, this hot swap of the consensus mechanism will largely be transparent. Applications will continue chugging along, but developers will now have a much more powerful system to build on (better security properties, proper economic finality, more layer 1 data for rollups and other fun applications).

I wonder how they'll migrate those data from the mainnet into one shard?

Anyway, good news here for eth supporters is nasa 39K+ na yung validators sa beacon chain (phase 0) testnet.

2930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Current US Economic Catastrophe Caused by Anti-Racism Movement has Impact on BTC on: June 05, 2020, 04:48:39 AM
~ USA is facing the biggest economy catastrophe in history as a result of this movement and the coronavirus epidemic. It is conceivable we will see the impact in the Crypto market in the next few months, a terrible catastrophe is approaching.
Remains to be seen but the way you worded this sounds like anarchy is coming.

The pandemic has taken its toll on people and a lot of them probably used this protest to vent their frustrations. My guess is that more good citizens will start helping the law enforcement to fight looters soon. Order will be restored and the peaceful protest will continue.

There was a thread in the Bitcoin Discussion section yesterday that somehow linked the oppression allegedly experienced by African-Americans in the US to Bitcoin. There may indeed be a link somewhere. But I guess we need to make a huge leap first in order to find that.
This?

We have seen how Bitcoin has been linked to all kinds of things happening around us: the violence in Iran, the fall of oil prices, the spread of COVID-19, and so on and so forth.

This is just one of them.
Exactly. Anything that can be connected to money and economy will be connected to bitcoin somehow. It's the usual "economy in crisis and investors will choose bitcoin as safe haven".

The Duck says bitcoin too

Come to think of it, I haven't read a lot of negative criticisms about BTC lately other than the report by goldman sachs. I usually see a lot of not-so-friendly reactions from these so called financial experts everytime it pumps and dumps like what happened couple of days ago.
2932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 04, 2020, 04:05:17 PM
Gamblers Drive Hours and Wait in Lines, as Casinos Reopen Amid Coronavirus

^ That could potentially happen in the Philippines also once land-based casinos are allowed to open. Just like how drunkards were so excited to quench their thirst with alcohol when the liquor ban was lifted, some gamblers might be itching to touch the tables and machines in the casinos Grin

Disclaimer: I didn't read the full article because WSJ won't allow me unless I subscribe.

~
I don't think it will be possible to re open this month ,because this is just a luxury and not a main needs of the people, the government is controlling the socializing and with this?there will be a bridge to risk the pandemic again.
You are missing the point. It's not how people view casinos but it's how these land-based casinos help generate funds for the economy. In the eyes of the Government, that is essential.

Maybe read what @chaser15 said in the previous comments about implementations of safety measure in casinos [1 2] .

@FlightyPouch, I wanted to reply to your comments but that would derail this thread. If you got other problems concerning the pandemic and local issues, try to post that in our local board or in Politics & Society.
2933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Alert] extstock - Fake volume on: June 04, 2020, 03:03:36 PM
I can't help but laugh at those pumps Grin
It looks like the pumping has been going on since it was launched. @CryptopreneurBrainboss already accused them last year of faking volume.

Is this their token? ExtStock Token (XT) The token is listed on CMC (with volume of 0.06868481 BTC and 2.75314675 ETH) but the exchange itself isn't. It's too easy to manipulate with extremely low volumes like that. I won't be surprised to see a 1 billion% increase next.
2934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 04, 2020, 02:30:16 PM
~
That is only a rumor I guess, we can only see the NBA will resume if Adam Silver the Commissioner of the NBA of the NBA will make a formal announcement. Rumors depends from which source the information is coming, but it could be close to resume since we are hearing a lot of rumors already.
Yup. It's probably 99% true. I think they are still ironing out some of the details like the format of the tournament before it will be approved.

Maybe it's also another way of telling players not to slack off and start training seriously.

~
But who am I to say it. Damn! I am getting fat too.  Grin
Thank God my contract doesn't need to be fit.
I hear you mate  Grin

https://www.bjpenn.com/mma-news/ufc/tyron-woodley-says-hes-already-been-offered-and-accepted-colby-covington-fight-following-burns-loss/

Woodley is delusional! Colby whooping him and putting him into retirement would be hilarious!
Delusional how? He didn't really say much. He was offered by the UFC and he accepted it. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt that Colby was avoiding him in the past.
Quote
But, at the end of the day, Colby has turned me down five or six times

Sneaky good card this weekend. Really interested in seeing how Garbrant goes, it's a make or break fight for him.
I agree with this. He won't be getting any fights soon if he losses here even if he remains active unless someone personally calls him out. Or when he starts talking sh*t on twitter  Grin

~
But then we knew TJ was juiced to the gills and now we know how talented he was and still could not beat Henry Cejudo Cheesy.
Putting juicing aside, Henry vs. TJ was a different case with Cody vs. TJ. What I was trying to imply is that because they were former teammates, they must have known each other's strengths and weaknesses. TJ's coach, Duane, must have outsmarted the other coach. He must have trained them both at one time and that's another factor.

Dana gave an update on Fight Island on Eddie Hearn's podcast:

Quote
UFC president Dana White has confirmed the first ever 'Fight Island' event will take place on June 27 and revealed it is “f***ing expensive and crazy”.

The promoter has been determined to push full steam ahead during the coronavirus pandemic, managing to stage four shows behind closed doors, in Florida and then Las Vegas.

Speaking on Eddie Hearn & Tony Bellew's Talk The Talk podcast, White said: “Fight Island is so f***ing expensive and so f***ing crazy – and almost impossible to pull off.

“You're talking about planes, flying people over, you have to quarantine people. It's insane to be even trying to do this. But I promise you we will do it and we will pull it off.

“I believe that in doing this, it's going to help grow the sport immensely. It's going to help financially and in many different ways. I know we can do it.”

I'm glad this is still going ahead with the lockdowns being eased, but there's no word on what fighters are going to be on the card yet. Without some big draws this could be a serious disappointment. With a couple of big fighters it could be huge. I can't see a fighter like McGregor turning up though given the short notice, unless they've been told to train for it for a while. If a big fight was going to take place on there though they would likely have been trying to promote them for a while.
Not much details as per usual  Grin
Did you say McGregor? - Conor McGregor texted the UFC boss Dana White saying he's desperate to fight on 'Fight Island'
2936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 04, 2020, 07:09:33 AM
~
I bet that  eight teams that won't play for the rest of the season (Hornets, Bulls, Knicks, Pistons, Hawks, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Warriors ) won't be too happy with this final decision, as they won't get TV money, since contract says that they have to play at least 70 games. But I guess sacrifices  has to be made in order for this NBA season to finish. Same goes for players, by some projections they will get 15% salary cut, due lower income.
They are out. I'm not sure about each contracts now. We are in a unique situation but if there's a stipulation in there that this has to be done in case something happens that's out of their hands, they have to abide. Anyway, part of the blame should be on them for not winning enough games. They would still be in the tournament had they done that.

~
Yeah they complicated it a bit, especially with that play-in tournament in case team seeded 8th and 9th are too close. I am curious to see whether Lillard plays or not.
I think Damian will play. The proposed format gives the Blazers a fair chance to get that last playoff spot.
2937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: June 04, 2020, 06:03:29 AM
"NBA set to resume action on 31 July in Orlando after Covid-19 hiatus"
source: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/jun/03/nba-return-date-basketball-teams-orlando-florida-basketball

Looks like the season isn't completely lost yet. Wink
Well, it looks like no one in this thread has picked up this news yet.

It's going to be eight top teams from east and the west (total of 16) plus 6 teams with the nesxt best record regardless if it's from East or West. As it stands, 13 teams from the west and 9 teams from the east will compete for 8 regular season games.

Orlando and Brooklyn could be kicked out by any of the four teams (Blazers, Pelicans, Kings, Spurs) from the West for that playoff spot.

^ The format is a bit complicated but I think it's fair to just let the top teams compete.
Not that I think it's going to happen but it would be interesting to see if two teams from the west would compete in the Finals.
2938  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Panahon Na Nga Ba Maging "Cashless Society" ang Pilipinas? on: June 03, 2020, 05:18:17 PM
Much better if you can provide stats and not just plain statements.

2018 data for smartphone penetration - Philippines ranks 25th out of the 50 countries on the list with 44.9% penetration.

Even middle class can easily do electronic transactions.

~ Now, if someone had business with an user of the forum and came back after a long time, how much confuse will he be? What do you think? Is it a good idea to allow changing username? I do not oppose it but it seems it may create issue in future.
@asu did an "experiment" before where he tried to re-register a username of an old account. Impersonation was the real danger here but it looks like the recreating of accounts has been taken cared by the admin.

~
Nah, that guy sacrificed 50 BTC and "VIP" title for the name change: (jk)
I had some 50 btc lying around and I just thought, why not  change my name just for fun?
Don't forget to insert sarcasm  Grin

I think a change in username should be allowed as long as their own username keeps attached to them like in their forum profile it can be shown their old username
Something like this "TheBeardedBaby formerly iasenko" ? If so, what's the point of changing username?

or their old username profile link redirects to their new username profile.
Changing usernames doesn't change the link to the profile.

~ Maybe a log would help or a tag on such user's profile.
There was a list before but some members opposed it.
