301  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction accelerator is it true or not? on: May 09, 2017, 04:55:03 AM
I want to share other services I found similar to ViaBTC's transaction accelerator:

1. https://pushtx.btc.com/#/ - be advised this is not a FREE service, they ask money for pushing your tx
2. https://www.btcspeedy.com/#accelerator - another accelerator and it seems that they ask money too.

The costs of using those services is ridiculous. You could just resend the transaction for less than that. I believe this was going to be implemented in Core at some point and I'm sure some clients already do it. I would never pay another service to do something and not even know if they will or not.

i will just wait for the wallet to be resolved, mine always stuck in a certain block.

Same here mate, so I'm hoping the dev can fix the issue asap. Not sure how POSWallet is able to run the VTY wallet without any problems. I even tried using their nodes they have listed in the VTY block explorer and still I couldn't get my wallet to sync up. I'm yet to vote as I'm undecided on which in direction VTY should go in so I'll just wait for now.

PoSWallet ISN'T running the node without issues. In fact, their own site shows that the last block they've seen was from weeks ago. Are you still seeing stakes? I had a couple coins there and haven't seen stakes in a long time either (as their wallet is way out of date).

Yes you are correct as I didn't even pay attention to checking whether or not I earned any VTY coins from staking as I was going by the wallet saying minting when in fact it isn't as I just checked and I also haven't earned any stakes for weeks now since April. Any wonder their nodes didn't work for me lol So if this is the case then POSWallet should have the VTY wallet in maintenance but they don't so that is very strange to me.

I warned everyone here months ago about PoSWallet and got blasted for it because I'm "wrong." Smiley.

Between rate and use, there are icons. Those are what change the coin you're looking at in the charts. As for the lending amount, as far as I can tell, it will only go as low as the lowest offering -- so there was likely a flash crash. If you watch rates, for example, even though a rate may show 0.1%, people will often throw coins up at 0.05 or so. Doesn't make sense but they do it.

ven though a rate may show 0.1%, people will often throw coins up at 0.05 or so.

What does it mean?

If rate drops temporarily I do not think I should lend at that rate.

You keep responding to me so I want to clarify that I do not own, nor work for Cryptolend. I actually just recently started using them myself.

On your loan duration, the duration is the maximum time. When someone trades on margin, they can pick a length of time to borrow for. They can close it early if they want, or extend it for the entire period. If you set 2 days, they can ONLY borrow from you if they promise to close their position within 48h. If you set 60 days, they have 60 days but can close it after 1 minute or 59 days, 59 hours, and 59 minutes, all up to them.

As an update, I was able to sync properly. Had to do a fresh blockchain sync to do it though. ETH tokens wouldn't work due to lack of PoS though, right?

Has it been confirmed they ve halted withdrawals as well? I ve read only about wire deposits not working.

They only halted deposits/withdrawals in FIAT. Not sure why people keep pushing the idea that this is affecting coins as well -- it isn't, hasn't, and they've said it won't.

No daily chest bonus available now?

Looks like it's been broken today. Wondering about that myself.

Is anyone else having trouble syncing up their wallet? I'm at block #356418 and with 7 connections and leaving it for over 72h, it goes nowhere. I've been at it for a week and a half. Never had an issue up until that point. And PoSWallet appears to have the same problem but with a different block (their last one shows as 350,000).

I can't verify my phone number. I try different types and open a ticket for that. But maybe someone here can help me?

Doesn't work for anyone I believe

we are using 2 seperated verify system. we dont know why sometimes not work well.

please use 00 instead of + for begining of number.

I was finally able to get it to work! I'm scared of it not working in the future now for logging in but hopefully that won't be an issue.

What I did is:

00+countryCode+number

So if you're in the US/CA, for example: 001number (like 001|012|345|6789)

Today we are introducing the Premium membership, to help us cover the running costs and beer supply: https://cryptolend.net/premium.html

Good addition, and I find it to be fair. Only kicks in after you've profited $250, and you're just asking a little over $1/mo for it. That's more than fair.

Keep doing what you're doing! Smiley

Try to cash out PP via 3rd party as soon as you can, then forget about chargeback.

That doesn't solve the issue. They will attempt to recoup the money and file a lawsuit against you if they can't get it. That affects your credit rating and creates a lot of complications.
314  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitfinex turning into Mt. Gox? on: May 04, 2017, 08:14:13 PM
Do they still do not allow BTC or Ether withdrawals? I know fiat is out of the question ATM but is crypto moving out possible?

Cause if fiat is the only issue, that s a banking problem. If crypto s locked down as well, that s clear insolvency.
Why use the word "still"? Moving crypto in or out has never been a problem. The only thing you can't withdraw or deposit is fiat (unless you count USDT).

Cause I was told crypto does not work either. If what you say is true, then there s no need to compare them to Mt.Gox. Having liquidity issues and having issues with banks not cooperating and not supporting crypto projects re completely different issues.

Lets hope they resolve these issues soon.

I've never seen anyone say crypto doesn't work. They even stated that crypto is not and will not be an issue (nor have I had one). The entire situation is just dealing with a bank. They still have all the USD, they just need a bank to allow them to send/receive again. Think of it like them holding everyone's fiat in cash -- they have it, they just need a way to move it.

Are there any more updates on their banking situation? Is Bitfinex going to move the funds to a new bank? Do they even have a new bank ready to accept them as a client? Its taking too long if the problem is a simple banking problem. Maybe someone should contact the Taiwanese bank to see if Bitfinex's account is frozen.

Banking problems are never "easy" when you are dealing with international transfers. Even getting a bank to allow international transfers usually requires jumping through hoops. Then add in the Taiwanese issues and it's compounded.

Then would that mean theres a chance all the users' funds thats being held by Bitfinex will be frozen for a longer period of time than we have anticipated? What if 90% of all Bitfinex users leave the exchange and withdraw everything they have in BTC, ETH, LTC and ETC? Maybe thats the reason why those cryptocurrencies are being pumped.

They're not insolvent in cryptos. If everyone withdrew all the BTC on the exchange, they (BFX) would still have BTC left over, for example. The only things affected are fiat. How they will get that part resolved I don't know. Luckily, I don't use them for fiat.

Is there any chart of how much people are earning based on space right now? Thinking about the old days when GPU mining BTC was still possible and there were charts to help gauge your approx. hash rate/earnings based on various hardware, but in this case based on your storage space. I know there's a lot of calculation going into it but just to get an idea?

Why is it that March divs were paid out in BTC, but April's were paid out in FNC? What determines which balances are paid out? Feel like there's a lack of transparency there.

I have two questions please.

1. Can you send PayPal payments in GBP?
My account is GBP and seeing as you're a U.K. company I feel it might be cheaper for both of us to avoid double conversion.

2. Can you send via 'Pay a friend or family'?
That should remove most questions about transaction reversal. Thanks.

Thank you.

Replying my own post.

When I didn't receive a response here I decided to send the above questions via the email address included in the first post. This was the reply I got:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello.

We send only in USD and as "goods and services" but we cover all fees.

Alex HiRiBi Support

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Someone (not HiRiBi) recently just reversed three PayPal transactions after I sent them Bitcoin. Claiming that 'I took' the money from their account and they did not make the order. I am still speaking with PayPal as this just happened yesterday.

However I advise everyone to avoid trading via PayPal if the person you are trading doesn't use the 'Pay a friend and family' method. I don't know why HiRiBi would refuse to pay via a hard to reverse method if we are sending them Bitcoin via an irreversible method.

Also dissapointingly they said they cover all fees, seemingly ignoring the very point I raised above telling them I got less than the quoted amount because of PayPal fees.

There are many ways to reverse F&F transactions as well. Not sure why so many people mistakenly take it as being "safe." It's no safer than sending payment for goods.
