1041  Economy / Digital goods / Re: SafeDice 99 % Winning Strategy on: October 06, 2016, 04:02:06 AM
Here's what the guide says, I'm 99% (see what I did there?) sure of it:

1) Deposit funds to site
2) Set chance of win at 98.9% (1.01x win)
3) Set risk amount to max
4) Bet

You now have a 99% (rounded) chance to win!
1042  Economy / Digital goods / Re: SafeDice 99 % Winning Strategy on: October 06, 2016, 02:55:55 AM
I'll take a vouch and look it over if you want. I don't see how you can come up with a solid strategy that works long-term when it's all based on mathematics itself.

Why would you launch something like this on XCP? Their volume is horrifying, at best, and with a new asset, you have little volume. You're compounding the issue, creating a very illiquid investment opportunity. Making an exit from this would be painful and expensive.

XCP is very close with Bitcoin and has a much easier means to manage the trade.. I can always make a vote and we can transfer somewhere else entirely.
I would ask though, where would you suggest for us to be on? NXT?

I've historically been against any of these third-parties, solely because the transaction volume is low on most and brings about yet another failure point: Fiat, BTC, the alt for the blockchain, then your business itself. It significantly increases risk.

NXT is likely a better platform, though, just because it's more widely used and has a lot more volume (meaning an entry/exit into the blockchain's native currency -- in this case NXT -- is not going to destroy the price).

Also, it looks like no dividends went out this week? How often are they supposed to go out?

I'll put some thought into this, We might switch to NXT.

I didn't bother posting the dividends as I'm the only one receiving dividends in Bitcoin.. We're only 3 investors so far and I convert the bitcoin we earn into Philippine Pesos for them

Are current dividends shared relative to ownership of currently owned shares? Like you're looking to raise 30 BTC, but have 0.275. If someone invested 0.275 would they get 50% of those dividends?
1044  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌟🎲🌟 MoneyPot.com on: October 05, 2016, 04:48:56 AM

That is true but so far MP has been doing a good job, just that recently the profit has been in the red for weeks or even months. Quite strange about this. I know there is up and down but did MP investigate if this is the normal or a loophole is found?

I am sure they are looking at everything.  Especially after a 2.5 month net loss to investors. Odds are they will come back up.
Also, there is more than just the owners looking into it.  Meaning, people are tracking the wallets to see if anything is going strange.  (example: people tracking the 32BTC transfers).
I have to admit, I would love to know if a loophole is found or a reason why the last two months has not been lucky for investors.  Sad

I have no investment in MP, but it might be time to put coins in seeing the profit going up.

Just to clear something up.  People are confusing the bankroll with investor profit.

The bankroll goes up and down.  Lately only down as investors have pulled funds.  It's gone from over 1500 to the current 1100.  This is NOT a loss of 400 coins.  Just simply loss and investors pulling their coins and/or simply divesting.

Investor profit is the gauge of profit/loss.
1 month  374.70 to the current 362.60 is a net loss of 11.9BTC.  Not good, but obviously not terrible and no where near the 400BTC loss once thought.
2 month  390.30 to the current 362.60 is a net loss of 27.9BTC.  Same thing
So, 2.5 months loss, but nothing even close to the amount of profit over the last year.

We're really not deviating much from what would be expected. We were actually way above expected profit for a long time. It's all just variance.

An example is JD, who was up for 8+ months and tanked to the point where even investors in the beginning were down to the negatives (Nakowa situation). It then went back positive over time.

The general idea is that if you're investing in a BR, it should be a long-term one. It's a volatile game, with the only difference being that you're gambling with a higher chance of winning (based on HE).

That said, we definitely do follow what's happening on the site, Smiley. And FWIW, we're up 0.53% for the week right now.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: October 05, 2016, 03:31:21 AM
Would be great if Devtome could be brought up again and/or made more resilient.

It needs someone that is willing to keep it maintained and work on monetizing it, really. The point behind it was to create an advertising powerhouse, which would purchase DVC off the market and help add buying pressure. So far, whoever is running it has failed to follow that vision.

I'm "Investor Administrator" for that reason! But never got access to improve the platform. I feel myself kind of ignored! Devtome would have huge success and I'm up to work on improving it but I need to have enough privileges for it. Currently I can only use the wiki like any other user, so it is near to impossible for me to achieve any significant improvement.

You're already an admin...

develcuy: admin, writers, users

Use this link: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=start&do=admin

Yes, but that is only within the application, I need access to the hosting in order to change stuff deeper as we need.

I'm talking to jasinlee at the moment about rehosting devtome on one of my servers. I might just give it it's own fresh server, in which case I can give you su access there.

Do you have any particular software requirements? Regarding hardware, I'll see what I can accommodate.

The most important thing is that we ditch our current advertiser and get the site acceptable to the higher paying ones (eg adwords). I recall we couldn't do this in the past because of our non-censoring policy, but I think we've proven that devtome can't survive without censoring. As a benchmark, devtome has been earning 0.001 btc per month from coinurl :/.

Is anyone able to figure out and suggest a plan of action on what we need to do to convert devtome to be adwords approved?

Is anyone an advertising fiend that knows how to best place ads? At the moment devtome only has one at the top, and I'm sure that could be made better.

HB

Now we are talking Cheesy

I prefer debian/ubuntu, and I will setup anything else with su grants. Also, I can contribute a server for automated backups.

I still see devtome down and got no access to help with devtome Sad Any news @Hunterbunter?

Just to let you know that I have no news from @Hunterbunter

Sucks to hear. The last payouts (the ones going out now) are screwed up because Devtome was down. Anyone who contributed in the month prior gets absolutely nothing. Only ongoing payments were added to the list. So people are quite literally losing money at this point because they are not missing coins they should have, but others are being OVERpaid, meaning there's more inflation. The system as it stands is in a very dire shape.

Actually, I think I see why I'm not seeing them. Someone made a withdrawal a week ago. Funds were sent to our hot wallet and were withdrawn from there. So the addresses you're seeing the coins end up at are not in our possession, just for clarification (the 32 BTC transactions). However, 1F5Xsuy9ZZWcLApoEBBFvnYTbZ4bkKzhcJ is ours (and is where funds were sent for the hot wallet top-up).

Hope that helps clarify things, Smiley.
Who is the owner of MoneyPot? U or RHavar?

I, Dogedigital, and ACoinLLC are as of last December.

Through a brief check, these don't match any of the addresses I'm aware of. We also don't split off into blocks of 32 BTC. Mostly asking where you found them so I have a better idea of where to look but so far not seeing them anywhere.

Let me chime in now since i just woke up and seen this conversation. First let me address the issue of how much i earn from the house edge. WE EARN .5% OF HOUSE EDGE ON BETS. NOT ANYWHERE CLOSE TO 50%. If i earned 50% of the house edge id be making enough i wouldnt feel the need to gamble. For every 1btc wagered on any moneypot app the app owner will earn .005btc if his house edge is 1%.

Do you not understand what "house edge" is?  You earn 50% of house edge on bets.  You don't earn 50% of bets.  But you do earn 50% of the house edge (the edge is split between you and MP).

Just look at your example.  1BTC is wagered.  The house edge is 1%.  1% of 1BTC = .01BTC.  50% of .01BTC = .005BTC.  So yes, you do earn 50% of the house edge on bets.  Not .5%.  You earn .5% of every bet that is made @ a 1% house edge.

This is like saying if someone owns 50% of the BR, they shouldn't be allowed to win anything. Which, as you might be able to guess, any of you are fully capable of doing if you have the funds. The simple fact is that Yahoo is getting no unfair advantage.

No, that isn't "like" saying that at all.

Did you read what I wrong?

I wrote that what he said in bold was wrong.  He then confirmed that I was correct.  I didn't say anything about a bankroll, or gambling, or that an owner shouldn't be winning his own giveaway.  Again, READ and then comment.  I don't care about any of the petty squabbling, and although it doesn't make sense to offer a prize to encourage play on your site and then win it yourself, it certainly isn't unethical or give you an unfair advantage.  I was simply saying that the thing he said, and bolded, was incorrect.

Sorry, I think you got hit as collateral damage. My post was in regards to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1390714.msg16428816#msg16428816

Was on a tablet and quoted the wrong one on accident it seems.

Just wondering, I saw yahoo's name on the top of the weekly wagered does it mean I have to beat him to get the first prize or wont he be counted for the weekly wagering? It is kinda funny to see the owner take place however if he is counted then surely Im out of this week as I wont be able to catch up to him

I dont think he is counted on the wagering competition, otherwise it will be so funny to see other players compete with the owner of the site. If till the end of the competition and Yahoo still on first, I think the 2nd player will be the first winner. I'm sure yahoo do not want to get the prize of his own competition.

I may be wrong on this but I think Yahoo has to be considered fir leaderboard prizes purposes. After all tbeing their site implemented into MonetPot owners profit comes from wagered but beside this aspect owners are not different from normal players: when they lose their bets amount are deducted from player balance and goes into MP bankroll and contrary happen for win. So when yahoo wagers that amount he is risking his pocket money just like us. Only difference is he gains back a tiny amount on his bets amount back from MP as site commissions.
I wouldn't se anything weird if he will be considered in leaderboard.

Wanted to chime in on this. I also see nothing wrong with Yahoo taking a leaderboard position on his site. Whether Yahoo is betting or some other player, everything is treated the same with regards to all other players and investors themselves, so there's no issues with this at all.

I know some have an issue on the basis that "you're winning your own contest," but I've personally never had an issue with that. He's not doing anything unfairly or having any special advantage nobody else has.
