401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: (JWL) JEWELS 🔷 HEROES LAUNCHED 🔷 1ST JWL USE CASE 🔷 TRADING ON BITTREX on: April 09, 2017, 06:19:15 AM
I already quickly cutting my lost these week. sad a good propsect project gone like this. I just want to know what has happened. Nobody is too stupid scamming people like this unless they has a good backup plan. Or this is just plain simple: noob scammer

Pretty sure it's the latter - noone would be so dumb to leave a footprint without being semi-anon and try and steal that much, these guys are toast unless they are already in venezuela or something crazy. I mean, 300K USD can get you far fast, but not without a trace. especially since the funds were cashed out on bitstamp  Roll Eyes  These fools are probably shitting themselves freaking out regardless at this point... lol.

this is really like a suicide mission. Going rouge, then getting marry and run away. We only speculate about chris. We need to find also the rest of the team. All of them must be held accountable including roy. We dont know if roy really out of the team. The obvious may be not that obvious either.

FWIW, Roy has been pretty upfront with me about things. I'm inclined to believe his story. Compare this to Chris, for example, who is impossible to get a hold of -- I'd think if Roy were an issue, he'd have gone radio silent as well.
402  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [FREE] Unlimited Web Hosting on: April 09, 2017, 06:15:31 AM
The past has shown that services like this are very spotty, at best. The accounts are overloaded with users (due to being "free") which leads to horrible service in most situations, especially with databases. Curious as to how you counter this.
Hi, Ranlo, I'm glad you asked. We have several servers in which we deploy the newly created accounts, this helps a lot since its not a single server the one that's getting overloaded with all the new websites. Also, our automated system automatically supends those websites which are using a lot of server resources (usually they are violating our ToS by installing forum suites like I.P. Boards or vBulletin or other resource intensive scripts).

Either the servers are already overloaded, or it is very rapidly going to be heading that way. No free hosting provider gets enough revenue to keep the servers underloaded through optional premium upgrades; simply not enough people will want to upgrade (even less because you offer "unlimited" everything for free already). But it's not even that - apparently, they make money off of ads on their website. I can tell you right away that that won't work.

Two things. First, the link in the OP has a typo in it. Also, I found it interesting that your premium plan is... in progress? http://prntscr.com/ete043
We have carefully analized our bussiness model and we are sure it's sustainable in the long run Smiley. Thank you for telling me about the link, just fixed it.
About our premium options, yes, they are still in progress. We are currently talking with several other web hosting companies in order to get special deals for our users, shall they wish to upgrade at some point in the future.

So what is the business model...? Ad revenue basically? And if we aren't doing anything against the ToS we won't be throttled so to speak? Or if you get big that's when you'll be throttled or have to pay?
...that would help us whether we avail of this free offer or just let it pass.

Google translate may suggest avail, but it literally makes no sense in any post on bitcointalk. Check yourself before you wreck yourself.

He said if the site is server intensive, it will be blocked (i.e. using forums). The issue with this is that any site can become intensive quite quickly with any amount of users, and even basic ones can use enough resources to cause issues. Seems like this is more geared towards play sites.
403  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Cryptolend.net - Automatic online lending on: April 08, 2017, 04:21:09 PM
New strategy available! Split your initial funds over a period of time, to divide your loans in small chunks and profit from average rate.

Is there any fee for using this system, and can you set it up to be dynamic or do you have to set the % you're going for?
404  Economy / Services / Re: Poker starter on: April 08, 2017, 04:18:31 PM
Most of the time prop players are hired to start tables on their own money and are offered a higher than normal rakeback rate. Usually 50-75%

This is what I was going to say. I think it's fairly rare to be paid for starting tables outside of high rakeback. Physical casinos are likely different because the dynamics are completely different, as is their revenue.

Great, I can be your second-in-command as assistance, just guide me what to do next and when.

Great, thanks. TheCryptoChat is back up so if you want to join the Hyper Dev room we can get started.

Anyway both solutions are great proposed by cryptohunter and CryptoDatabase. But at the same time quite irrelevant. If there is no community to support projects well it really doesn't matter what tools you have. But I believe we are way beyond that, right? Dev tax is something that is out of our reach now. Maybe next time at next "upgrade".

This was supposed to be an upgrade but difficulties on the current developer's end has turned it into just specifications changing with the current code. This is not what you guys wanted nor what I wanted so in return I'll provide an additional 0.1 BTC towards another HYPER project to cover what you guys contributed for the new wallet.

What is actually going to be changed with the new wallet, with this all in consideration? Is it fixing the ridiculous RAM usage, things like the interest rate, etc.? Or what's part of this?

The RAM and CPU usage is mostly due to the massive amount of blocks HYPER has and its quick block time. The new wallet will extend the block time to 2 minutes per block instead of 30 seconds. This will decrease the number of blocks HYPER produces and should slow down CPU usage as it isn't constantly syncing and the new blockchain should reduce the RAM usage tremendously as it will no longer have to sort through and call 3+ million blocks.

The only thing changing with the code really is the specifications for block times. The current HYPER PoS schedule should still exist in its current form.

Is the RAM/CPU usage for sure related to that? There are other coins with similar block times that don't have the same issues, so seems weird that HYPER would be one of the few affected.

I want to update everyone. I stated that I'd use my method of contact to get a hold of the JWLS team and see if I couldn't get anything that wasn't already here.

I was able to get a hold of Roy, and he updated that he actually left the project back in February and for some reason their team never notified us about this publicly, despite being asked by Roy to do so (it was unrelated to JWLS' direction or anything, not a falling out or anything like that). Originally he states, "You don't need to announce my departure publicly at this point as I'm sure it would cause some ruckus and I don't want to make a headache for you guys more so then me already leaving does, but it will need to be done eventually." Chris has gone silent across all forms, not just to us, as outsiders, but to Roy and others as well. There's not much more to report at this time, but it does look like Chris may have gone rogue or something happened to him.

408  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: lending on poloniex and bitfinex on: April 06, 2017, 10:55:46 PM
Poloniex is one of the greatest prizes in hacking at present. Lord knows how much money is stored on there. I'm sure they're extremely careful but another hack is only a matter of time.

It's already happened and somehow it'll happen again. Considering the returns on offer there's no way I'd bother myself.

In their defense, they offered up repayment for all users affected through their coins. And just the other day announced that they are doing a full buyout of those coins. So they've done a good job at handling the situation -- far better than most.

Are you able to offer VPSs with more RAM? These days, 1 GB is fairly small for any site or app that is actually going to gain a little traction.

Does anybody know, for how long Trex allows to hold delisted coin on exchange? I planned to hold it until a new wallet is released.

Or you can use this service at http://comm.hopto.org/hyper/, as a temporary solution, which can be found also on this site http://coinwik.org/HYPER if you scroll down at the "wallet" section. Many links are dead but some are still online, as that one I suggested, though I've never tried before.

I'd suggest sending to CryptoDatabase instead of a questionable site (I'm not familiar with the link you gave, so I'm not saying they're shady, but I don't entrust coins to people I don't know). He's a core part of HYPER now, and arguably has been. I'd trust him over even an exchange.
412  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🌟PPCADMEDIA.COM Bitcoin Ad Network, Advertise Your Gambling Site With Us🌟 on: April 05, 2017, 05:25:46 AM
Has anyone used this service that can share your personal results? Curious as to how it's played out for you.

here is our service discussion thread theres not much in there in the way of advertising feedback https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1705910.0

one thing you might be able to judge on is that we dont have any negative feedbacks and we have well over 1000 users.
people that have bad experiences will always complain and most people that are happy with the service will not leave feeback.

you decide if its worth a try

Good point! I'll likely be throwing up a campaign soon to give it a test run across a few sites, Smiley.

I'd like to know what games people have actually been getting. This whole vouch thing is useless if they aren't even giving information.

it won't cost us even a single satoshi? How can you make profit from your service then? Is it something like donation?

This is a not for profit venture. There are costs which are affordable for now. I will bear these costs as long as it is still viable for me.

Definitely interested in hearing and learning more about this, Smiley. Been using things like Duolingo, which have proven to be helpful, though always up for new methods to try out.

How much are you selling the shares for to begin with? And how much do they constitute in terms of company ownership? Essentially, what I'm getting at is... what are you claiming your company is worth right now?
417  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cheapest Bitcoin VPS hosting list on: April 04, 2017, 06:47:22 AM
Anyone know of some cheap (but good) VPS hosts that also include management? That's an issue many don't handle. I'd like to move some stuff from shared to a VPS but don't want to deal with server management as part of that.

Are you buying in bulk? What's the maximum you can handle? I actually have someone I may get you in touch with if you can handle real volume (from a betting site).
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Janus [JNS] Blockchain secured global business NXT - Ardor on: April 04, 2017, 06:41:44 AM
This distribution is very important for our team to offset some out of pocket costs we are accruing. If you want more profit sharing and desire to help with multiple sites and marketing costs now is the time. If this distribution continues at current pace we will use some existing ideas and code to offset costs. The only downside to this is that it could stretch team schedules a bit thin by branching outside the roadmap. We will do what's necessary to achieve our 5 year plan and goals though, even if it means several changes to the current system of sharing in our company.

What is the actual amount you still need to raise to realize all goals? I was under the impression things were already going well financially as it is.

I am watching the ads for Bitcoin Generator on every website I visit these days. This ad is displaying on Google adsense and it takes you to http://bitcoin-for-you.com/
They ask you to send bitcoin to a particular address and get the double or triple amount to your desired address.
A perfect scam to lure newbies to bitcoin.
I want to warn everyone particularly newbies not to try any such websites as they are scammers who wanrs to cash in on growing popularity of bitcoin.
There is nothing that can multiple your coins like that..

Why is the title labeled "possible" when anyone with even basic mathematical skills can tell for an absolute fact that it's a Ponzi?
