301  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Children aged eight can have their own Mastercard: Debit cards on: July 09, 2014, 03:26:38 PM
I think it's a good idea actually. Kids are getting smarter these days and people need to move with the times. The headline makes out like it's giving them a creditcard as well, but it's just a debitcard. I had one when I was quite young too.
302  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm FREE! on: July 09, 2014, 03:24:14 PM
I left the sig campaign, so now I can actually post a bit more about what I actually think rather than being politically correct to not get hit with "omfg, he's spamming".

So, just saying, bitcointalk is making me a racist. ._.

How does that make you racist?

I'm saying that bitcointalk is making me racist.

Actually, it's also making me hate people in general. Everyone here seems half-way retarded.

I think that's just the internet in general. It turns everyone into a misanthrope. I don't know why a sig deal was making you sensor yourself though. Most people just seem to post their opinions regardless or how controversial they are.
303  Other / Off-topic / Re: The N Word Prank on: July 09, 2014, 03:18:01 PM
I'm a fan of Roman and have subscribed to his channel but haven't seen that one before. Was funny as usual.

That guy is gonna get his ass kicked at some point. Cheesy

He has done a couple of times. He got beat up by Vitaly (another youtube prankster) though I'm not sure how real that was, but he's been hit a few times before in his videos.

why are all his 'neighbors' black?

Well that's the joke.
304  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips on increasing my TRUST level on bitcointalk? on: July 05, 2014, 03:45:23 PM
Trust is hard to come by for a reason. You can attempt to game it or gain it legitimately over time, but if you're honest and do lots of trades you will get it eventually. Don't try to rush it just so people think you're trustworthy though.
305  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: July 05, 2014, 12:00:51 PM
Loosing Neymar is obviously a big loss as he always seems to have a lot of energy for Brazil, but I still think it's going to be a close game between Germany. I think Argentina and Belgium will also be a close game providing they stick a couple of defenders on Messi. Holland should beat Costa quite easily.
306  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $100 Starbucks Gift Cards for $40 on: July 02, 2014, 11:05:34 AM
I would be interested in one of these but how do I use them exactly? Could I transfer the points onto a giftcard or do I need to use an app on my phone?
307  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS on: July 02, 2014, 11:04:10 AM
You might want to state what you're actually selling in the thread title. You might get some more interest that way.
308  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay on: June 22, 2014, 02:22:03 PM
I think it's the software or protocol for it isn't it? I could be wrong though. Hopefully this solves all the problems other markets like Silk Road and Atlantis had etc.

I'm sure it will solve many of the problems Atlantis and SR had. I wouldn't really trust those markets but I'd have a little more faith in this one I think. I hope it works out well.
309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very Early Adopters on: June 22, 2014, 02:19:12 PM
If you are reading this in the summer of 2014, and you have any BTC, congratulations. You are an early adopter, and you will soon be rich if you choose to hold.
I saw the Video although I believe in bitcoin but somewhere I found this video biased , because it only talks about successful companies like Twitter , Facebook , Google.  and their S curve , but there are also so many companies out there who never grows that big. We all know bitcoin is not a company[which is in favor of bitcoin] but it will not have a similar kinda of advertising , and will be restricted in use till some killer app comes out and it will take some time to explain it to average joe + it will face many difficulties as it grows bigger. Yeah I'm hopeful for a very higher vertical curve but will it ever happen I have faith.

bitcoin has the potential to be much bigger than FB or twitter.
Sorry do disapoint you but this is bullshit, how could bitcoin be much bigger if almost everybody that has computer and internet is registered on facebook?
Just nonsense...

Not at all. Not everyone uses social networks but everyone uses money. Will it be bigger than Facebook or Twitter? I don't know, but it certainly has the potential to be.

Have you tried this: http://www.wired.com/2014/03/make-autocorrect-suck-less/

My phone changes some words annoyingly too.
311  Other / Off-topic / Re: Official Snowden Defense Fund on: June 20, 2014, 12:58:16 PM
What is his legal defence actually doing? I wasn't aware you could have a court case without the actual person.

They can try him in absentia. But obviously he needs lawyers to try and stop whatever legal proceedings there are currently against him, plus I'm sure there are many other areas of the law he needs advice on.
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iraqi miliatants stole 400 million $, could have been saved with bitcoin! on: June 20, 2014, 11:54:28 AM
How did they exactly steal all that money? I don't get it.

But this would have not happened if the banks have converted all the money into bitcoin and had the private keys encrypted..even if stolen money is super traceable with blockchain.

Just one more reason of how bitcoin could truly help the world become a better place.

Yeah, this is exactly what would happen. Safer if you've not got access to the person who's money you're trying to steal, but torture or the threat of death will get it out of them.
313  Economy / Services / Re: Cloudbet Signature Campaign – up to 0.12 BTC per month for 50 posts on: June 20, 2014, 11:52:28 AM

314  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-12] WSJ: FBI to Auction Bitcoins on June 27 (Non Paywall) on: June 14, 2014, 04:04:52 PM
So what's everyone going to do?

Can see this going one of 2 ways:

(1) The 174K BTC are auctioned off at a discount and combined with the flood of injecting 1% into the market causes BTC to drop

or

(2) The 174K BTC are auctioned off at higher than $600 per coin - it's not easy to obtain chunks of BTC of that size (i.e. VC's or companies with long-term plans for BTC) and BTC continues to rise

Or everyone sits tight and waits while nothing happens.

It all really depends on what price they get bought for. I'm hoping whoever buys them plans to hold them as an investment though. Trying to sell them all at  once will be silly.
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Marshalls auction SilkRoad bitcoins on: June 14, 2014, 04:02:55 PM
The price probably all depends on how much they go for and what the person does with them. If he dumps them we could see trouble.
Buying and dumping makes no sense as he is selling such an amount that he is driving down the price as he sells and so will get much less than he paid. Unless 'his' plan is to drive down the price and then buy back in from the panicking "dumb money" and in the end driving the price back up. If that's the plan I'm all for it. I'll end up with more bitcoin (buying low) and the bitcoin will be stronger for having appeared to weather another storm.

Maybe the winner bidder wont have any idea what he's doing? I'm sure whoever wins them though will probably be keeping them as an investment. It'd be hard to sell many of them straight away as the price will go down.
316  Other / Off-topic / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014!!! on: June 14, 2014, 04:01:11 PM
Brazil and Spain both played quite poorly I thought. I'm sure Spain will step up for the next game though.

I'm looking forward to the England Game tonight. I think it'll be close but Italy will take it by a goal.

Yeah, I agree. I'm thinking 2-1, 3-1 to Italy.
317  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: June 14, 2014, 03:58:36 PM
Hello,
I see that the OP removed the text which says that the campaign is totally full. Does this mean that It is open again for newcomers? I am e SR member now, Is it possible to join after some time?
BR

Why are you even inquiring about this deal? You can quite clearly see that people are having trouble with it and the op hasnt even been online in going on two weeks. I quit this because there's no way I'm risking an entire month on it.
318  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I check the balance on my paper wallet? on: June 14, 2014, 03:54:48 PM
Coinbase is an online wallet, and your coins are mixed. That's why it can do off-chain transactions, your bitcoins in your account are recorded in a system in coinbase, and not actually on the blockchain.

oh ok. well no wonder. Many thanks for the clarification.

So if I use Coinbase's paper wallet feature (which i plan to), I'm assuming my balance still will not show up on the blockchain?  If so, how would I easily monitor my balance on my Coinbase paper wallet?

No, it probably will show up. I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing their paper wallet feature is so you can safely store your bitcoins offline, which if is the case then you'll be able to check them on the blockchain.

I made a total of 95 posts and got three payouts of 0.0304, 0.0112 & 0.0344 BTC. That works out at 0.076 total and 0.0008 per post but I'm not sure if I got what I was owed fully. Not a big deal really but I hope op sorts out the problems with the people who got nothing.
