every so often one of my versions of ccminer will crash. Is there a setting that will detect this and restart it?
I have to close the miner window and then it will auto restart.

thx
The recommendation is to configure Windows to not display those crash dialogs, because it prevents the ccminer process from terminating correctly. Once you configure Windows to terminate the process instead, Awesome Miner will detect it and take care of it. Please see "Terminate crashed mining software":

I've seen a number of discussions about the Excavator miner, and I've just implemented initial support for the recent versions of Excavator as an External Miner. It's included in the latest Awesome Miner release where it's at least possible to monitor it.

I do have an implementation for it as a Managed Miner in the pipeline as well, but that one needs a bit more testing before I will release it. More operations will also be made available later on.

The Excavator mining software is a bit special, and it looks like the configuration file needs to be specified with the number of workers you want for each GPU (the worker.add command). From an Awesome Miner point of view it would be great if Excavator simply could use all GPU's by default, because having Awesome Miner detecting GPU's first and then launch Excavator with a configuration based on this is a possible source of error.

The Excavator miner also provides very few configuration options via the command line, making it difficult to override any behaviors that Awesome Miner will enforce by default. I will try to come up with a good way to support this software anyway, but it's has a "unique" design.

In addition to the above, the Excavator miner will never be downloaded automatically due to the restrictions in the Nicehash EULA.

Guys, is there any way how to add delay before "autostart miner" kicks in ?

What I mean is, lets say, you do overclocking or something that may cause the mining to become unstable. System freezes, you restart it with "smart plug", system boots, but will load unstable profiles and start miner = crash again.
Is there any way how to add timer(delay) before the miner starts automatically so meantime you can make changes if needed. (using AM + EWBF for zclassic).
When I wasnt using AM, i had this "timeout 120" in the miners .bat file.
Hi,

If this is for the auto start of a miner after reboot, there is actually a setting in the Options dialog, Advanced section, that I added quite recently for this. "Delay auto start of miner after reboot".

Awesome Miner version 4.4

- A profit profile can be configured with custom pools to use, independent of the global profit switching pools.
- Improved bulk edit for External Miners to include profit switching settings
- Display MAC address in the Summary tab for the selected miner
- Antminer A3 support
- A miner can be converted from between being a Managed Miner and a Managed Profit Miner from the context menu.
- Awesome Miner API method to set coin properties, for setting profitability of custom coins from external applications
- Added three additional highlight colors for the miner list
- Show total wallet balance in column header
- Show profile hash rate for each entry in the Online Services tab
- New Block Explorer for Ethereum Classic balance
- Phi algorithm included
- XMRig mining software supported for CPU, AMD and nVidia mining of Cryptonight
- Cast XMR miner can be included in the profit switcher
- Claymore Cryptonight Miner 11.2
- Claymore Dual Ethereum Miner 10.6
- DSTM Zcash Miner 0.5.8
- Cast XMR 0.8.1
- Correction to GPU mapping order for the GPU tab. This change may result in different order on some systems.
- Correction to use defined coins with value specified in USD used together with the profit switcher
- Correction to miner specific worker name not being passed correctly in profit switching scenarios
- Minor corrections

The release adjusts to the odd reporting of Accepted and Rejected shares on the new Antminer A3 and also includes the temperature and devices readings correctly. Please let me know if there are any other behaviors of Antminer A3 that needs further adjustments.

Doesn't really help. I want to be able to allow my kids to restart the machine if needed, watch cartoons, play their games, all while the miner is doing its thing in the background.
Vertcoin OCM does this (autostart at login, start minimized to System Tray, start mining automatically), and I've written a small Visual Basic application which does the same for CPU mining (I mine UIS using Yescrypt on Hash refinery with CPUminer-opt). My VB app uses a cmd wrapper to allow easy window manipulation etc.

Awesome Miner already has a System Tray icon, it makes little sense for it to not be able to minimize to System Tray - I just couldn't find the option.
If I understand your request correctly, you simply want to close the Awesome Miner main application so you don't see it in the task bar but only as a system tray icon? Simply click the X-button in the upper right corner to close the main window. This will not exit the application - but leave it running in the background and be accessible via the System Tray icon. Was this the behavior you were looking for?

If you want each mining software console window to be hidden as well, you can configure this in the Properties of the miner, on the Environment tab where you can set the Console window mode.

Hey guys!

Thank you very much for creating AM! I'm currently using it on all my 3x6 rigs now.

I would like to invest further in the software. Just wanted to confirm a few things from those who already have version beyond the free one.

1. If I upgrade, would I be able to manage all 3-6 rigs for example from 1 rig that I use as my main?
2. How do I get the most of the "Balance" page in the GUI?
3. Would more pools be added in the profile switching section later on or is this something I can do on my own via the customs pools? I understand I can mine specific coins via the customs pool as I already tried this with a few coins in the past.
4. I use nvidia gpu's. If I mine via dstm and ccminer in the profiles, I get errors that the rm.exe file needs reinstalling for dstm and ccminer crashes. This only happens to 1 or the rigs. Would anyone be kind enough to point me in the right direction as to how I can fix this?
5. Are there any tips as to how I can stabilize settings so that my current AM doesn't restart miner after a few mins? I've double checked on my rules and they're conservative enough to wait for progress and such. I'm not pushing the gpu's so much too. On one of my rigs which have the same settings, I can get 8hours straight of uninterrupted mining.

Thank you! Smiley
Hi and thanks for your nice feedback.

1) The best deployment is to run Awesome Miner on a separate computer, but it also works fine to run it on one of your miners. Then you install Remote Agent on all other mining rigs. The single Awesome Miner instance will let you manage and monitor the mining of all your mining rigs in a single user interface

2) Please note that this feature is only about balance of public wallet addresses, not your pool current pool balance (yet). For details, please see:
http://awesomeminer.com/help/coinbalance.aspx

3) I try to have the most popular pools as predefined, but I will never be able to include everything. You can add your own custom pools to the profit switcher as well.

4 - 5) Do you get any output if you click the Diagnostics button in Awesome Miner, or are these softwares crashing right away without any additional information? This issue is probably outside the scope of Awesome Miner. You can also find the general troubleshooting tips here:
http://awesomeminer.com/help/troubleshooting-gpu.aspx

3107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 23, 2018, 10:03:14 PM
I am new to mining and am setting up Awesome Miner.

I don't understand how to set up the balance display.

1) in the options->balance window I need to specify the Address(public key) for the coins to be displayed.  How do I get the appropiate public key(s) to display the value of coins in my Mining Pool Hub account?

2)  When a wallet creates multiple reciving addresses do all addresses to be displayed get added to the options list or by adding one are all captured by listing one of the public keys?

3) Is there a Block Explorer wwhich works for ZenCash ?  For Monero?

4) Other than https://chainz.cryptoid.info where are good places to look for compatible block explorers?
1) Awesome Miner cannot get your current MPH balance, only after payout. I do plan to add the feature to show pool balance information as well.

2) You need to specify each public address

3 - 4) I don't have any knowledge of any other Block Explorers that works, but that isn't the same as there are none. Maybe someone else have information on this? The difficulty is that many block explorers have their own API's, and although Awesome Miner tries to be smart and support as many formats as possible - it's not possible to support all of them.
3108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 23, 2018, 09:57:01 PM
I have set up two rules according to http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/rules.aspx one that starts mining when my computer is idle for X minutes, and another rule that stops mining when the computer is no longer idle. This doesn't seem to work very reliably though, sometimes it won't stop mining even though I am using the computer.

Does anyone know the actual logic behind this function? How does Awesome Miner decide when the computer is and isn't "idle"? Is it just based on mouse or keyboard input?

I've not tried this function.  For most miners, they dedicate the whole rig to mining.  I understand what you are trying to do, but if you have AM running on that same computer, you can just click "stop" when you want to use the computer, and then the rule to start mining when the computer is idle should kick in when you are done.  Patrike may be able to give more information on what constitutes "idle" though.

Thanks for the response. After some testing, it does indeed seem like it only considers mouse and keyboard input when deciding if the machine is idle. This means that if you were to e.g. play a movie or watch a video (or in my case, stream a game to my Nvidia Shield using Gamestream), Awesome Miner will still think the computer is idle and start mining after the set interval. At least that's how I suspect the behavior is like.

Maybe the behavior could be changed to consider running a 3D application as the computer being in use? Would be amazing for those of us who run Awesome Miner on their main desktop and only want to mine when the computer isn't in use.
Awesome Miner requests the "idle time" information from Windows. It's based on mouse/keyboard input. Awesome Miner cannot detect activities like playing movies and so on right now.

I remember reading a post on here that said you can copy over the configuration file and not have to start again updating everything in awesome miner.  I am setting up my new dedicated mining computer and just tried this and nothing carried over.  Can someone please explain how to do it?  I went to appdata local awesome miner on current machine and copied to new machine, went to roaming as well and copied to new machine and awesomeminer still opens blank.
Awesome Miner stores all configuration in the file ConfigData.xml located in the folder %appdata%\AwesomeMiner.

To copy the configuration from one computer to another, make sure that Awesome Miner isn't running and copy the file ConfigData.xml to the other computer.
3110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 23, 2018, 09:50:39 PM

We all lost hours instead of having all coins and algos added in this paid software. If the developer is so busy and lazy pay an Indian to add the coins and to export the config files. It is being asked for weeks and developers do not care. Add all algos and coins.

For the past days persons that mined PHI made 30% more money and phi is the most mined and most profitable algo on all pools.

Today phi is most profitable and users are not able to add it or are unaware about money they lost and tomorrow will be another algo that is missing, all because the developers do not care or want to pay $100 to someone and create the conflig  files for all algos and coins.

We are all tired of lazy developers from the team that do not care when we all loose thousands of dollars every day.
Hi,

First of all, I'm spending about 70 hours a week on Awesome Miner and serving all customer questions via mail. There is no need to be rude and call people lazy, so please stop doing that - thanks! I think that most people that has been around in this thread for a while do know that I answer many questions here and work hard on making as many people as possible happy.

Second, due to the large number of questions about getting right now, I've been prioritizing all customers with a paid license that ask specific questions via mail. Except for the last week, I've also been very active in this thread trying to answer as many questions and requests as I possibly can. Because the popularity of mining has increased a lot recently, it's difficult for me to keep up. Also, in many cases the answers can be found on in the FAQ or Help section on the web page.

Third, you can add any algorithm or mining software to Awesome Miner. In some cases you need to many add new algorithms to Options dialog, Algorithms section.

Please don't get me wrong here - I appreciate all feedback and questions. But let's work together on having a nice discussion to resolve any issues or missing feature. Thanks!
3111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 16, 2018, 10:42:30 AM
Hello Patrike,
I noticed something a little annoying regarding coins statistics. If i set AM to use 24h average statistics to decide what to mine, then the price of coins displayed in the bottom bar change to an average price on the last 24h too.
Would it be possible to have the coins listed in bottom bar to always list the current price even if i use 24h average for profit switching ?
That's a good point. This will consider making this change.

Hello Patrike,
Just for remember, could you please look at this small issue regarding statistics ?
I have a note about this already, so it has not been forgotten. I'm simply getting a very large number of questions and feature requests these days, so some feature request will take a little time to get implemented. I do however appreciate all feedback and comments, so let's continue working together on making the software even better. Thanks!
3112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 16, 2018, 10:39:55 AM
Glad to see you can switch between managed and profit miners now easily however there is an annoying issue.  When you switch between them it doesn't remember all of the miner's properties, for example when you switch from profit to managed the mining software and pool are not what they were the last time it was a managed miner.  I really expected that it would be able to switch between the two seamlessly without having to redo a lot of properties (actually without having to redo any properties).
Thanks for your comments. I think the concept should be combined with the Managed Templates as well. So if you apply a template to a Managed Profit Miner it could turn into a Managed Miner with the defined settings.

Already today you can use the Templates to be able to restore settings to a miner that you converted back to a Managed Miner, but it's a two-step thing that could be optimized.

Two identical machines
Even hash rates are within a few MH/s

And yet AMiner, decides to put one on Lara2 for days while the other switches to most profitable as intended

https://i.imgur.com/t8gF99T.jpg

The updated online services show lara as most profitable - but how can it be when the identical set up on the right shows it further down.

The whole software is one big mess as far as I can make out.
How can two identical machines, cards, hashrates, miners, pools everything be showing different profits and mining different alogs.
I'd expect some shenanigans but it's more likely to be incompetence.

Not sure if it's even worth my time trouble shooting going on the past 20 pages of this thread.
But I did reinstall latest miner on both - delete and redo the miners. rerun the benchmarks and yet this still occurs.

So just a heads up - you could very likely be chucking money away, unless you have two machines to check what this software is doing.

Later, and mine safley.

I have the same problem, with 2 identical machines with identical GPUs and with identical statistics settings (refresh time is 2 minutes and whattomine selected) looks exactly like in your picture, with very big difference from one rig to the other, and the difference is very big, like 50% more for a different pool. It is strange and not logical.

Also everyone must check real hash rate recorded by the pool and also actual payment because it is a very big difference in the amount you are being paid (you get a lot less, and your hash power goes somewhere) compared to what you see in HashRate in AwesomeMiner (not talking about dolars that you can say it depends on exchage rate when converted, I am talkign about constant hasrate that varies less than 1% in 24 hours and you see it going down a lot on pool recordings.

What do you think, patrike about the 2 issues from above ?

First of all, please verify if you use the same statistics time period on both systems. Quite recently the default value was change from "Current" to "24 hour Average" in Options dialog, Statistics section. If this setting is different, the numbers you see will not be the same.

If there is a specific profit switcher deceision you want to investigate, then the right click on the miner and select the View Details dialog instead, where you can see the actual pool priorities based on profitability.

Hey patrike

I have another thought i don't think any one has asked for yet or may have there is a lot of pages to go though for Awesome Miner .

to save you time can you make a add on or add some kind of template that can update to any custom miner we want to add with full states some like the Generic miner but improved to beadle to add the full miner there a lot of mew soft ware miners coming out that are looking like they will blow a way CM and a few others over time. plus you do some amazing things , I'm not saying that to get you do some thing  , you do, the thing that still supersizes me the most is the updates you up pump out an don't ask for more money that a lone keeps me using AM  an telling others about how good AM is . not that i won't pay i will ... Again I'm not kissing ass to get to some thing it's the truth until it's not.
Thanks for your feedback. What Awesome Miner should do is probably to let you define more details, including the actual software path and handle automatic upload, for any custom Managed Software you define. I guess this is related to what you ask for.

Awesome Miner development version 4.3.4 (preview of 4.4)

In addition to preview preview 4.3.3:
- Claymore Dual Ethereum Miner 10.4
- Correction to miner specific worker name not being passed correctly in profit switching scenarios

Important: Remote Agent must be upgraded as well. Once upgrading to this version, you cannot downgrade to an older version without all configuration being lost.

More important: There is unfortunately a bug in the upgrade mechanism for the Awesome Miner main application in development preview 4.3.3. If you have this development preview, you may need to manually use the MSI file below to upgrade the Awesome Miner main application. The Remote Agent should still be possible to upgrade automatically. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The get access to development versions, open the Options dialog in Awesome Miner. In the General section, enable Check for development versions. Then go to the Menu and click Check for updates.

--user s3c70r , even if in the properties I have "Add to workername" checked, it doesn't pass the workername to command line.

We should read --user s3c70r.Rig02

Miningpoolhub doesnt allow connections without a login followed by a workername. ( login.Workername )

I have a s3c70r.Rig01 defined globally in the profit switching section of options to work around the bug.

Please fix ASAP.
I will investigate. Thanks for reporting

I would like to be able to switch between profit mining and specified pool mining easier. Currently I have to go to each miner and enable and disable the profit mining.

Can you make it a right click option?

I actually implemented something similar in the latest development version (4.3.3), but in the Options dialog only. Until it's supported via the right-click menu, please go to Options dialog, External Miners and use the bulk-edit feature.
3118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 15, 2018, 06:21:00 PM
@patrike

Can you please check if profit switching ignores "power" settings in the profile? Seems as if profit switching only switches for "revenue" not for "profit" as seen in the online services tab.
As seen here...

cryptonight would be more profitable, because it consumes less power - but it is mining yescrypt. I don't care about the few cents, just wanted to show, that there might be a bug.
Btw. - IF there is a bug and you fix it - please make sure, that it won't start any mining with negative profit Wink

Thansk for support

The profit switcher should look at the profit, not revenue. Can you verify that if you right click on the miner and select View Details?
