3161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Two Realistic Moves in Play on: January 26, 2022, 09:48:11 PM
One way or another it keeps showing that 20k line should be retested.

However, I do not believe that we would be going that low, we are going to definitely break out way before that happens. I just feel like 20k is not something we could get down anymore, that was once upon a time and we are not going to get there.

Veterans and early bird would remember, in 2014 our ATH was around 1.4k, and that was broken during 2017 peak and we reached ATH of 20k during that time, we never went to 1.4k ever again, the lowest was around 3k or so, and never below the previous ath price.

So, the same probably stands here, we were at 20k ATH for a while, then we broke out, and now we will probably never see those levels ever again.
3162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: January 26, 2022, 08:58:10 PM
I highly doubt that Lewis will retire, dude signed a contract just this year, just to end up retiring after the season is over? I feel like it is going to be a bit different, I believe that we are going to end up seeing him be a bit different.

I am assuming that the new cars are not as good as they hoped for and they are just going to end up not being dominant as they should be. That is why Lewis will have one more season, where he keeps on bailing and not racing for some weeks as well, and then will retire next season as well. This will allow whoever will replace him to just get on the wheel and test when Lewis doesn't race, and be ready for next season.
3163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Block Rewards when Bitcoin hits $1M on: January 26, 2022, 08:12:27 PM
It is basically the cost to mine a bitcoin, not cost to mine whatever you are mining. If the price is 100k and you are making 5k with the equipment you have with 4k cost, then when the price is 1 million, there will be a lot more people, but your earning will go to 10k as well while cost will be 9k. So, as you can see the cost goes up but the revenue goes up as well making you still profitable.

The only way that a miner would lose money after a while is the equipment getting older and there will be newer and better mining equipment that will end up profiting while your old equipment not profiting so much. Also there is a slight chance that your electricity could cost a lot more, but usually that doesn't happen too much, they change slight by slight all around the world together.
3164  Economy / Economics / Re: Overseing health and environmental impact of high energy required in Bitcoin on: January 26, 2022, 06:09:22 PM
This is a bit of a wrong type of approach to the problem. The problem in the world is not high energy usage, we will keep needing more and more in the future anyway, even if we removed all bitcoin miners, we will reach that eventually and even surpass it one day. The problem is not using energy, it is creating energy and how.

Right now, energy production happens in all kinds of wrong ways and that causes the environment to be in a bad state, if we had worldwide renewable energy structure that everyone uses and there are no bad energy creation like coal or oil or gas, then we would not have any of these problems. Plus pollution is another minus, if we didn't had pollution in the world then none of these problems would exist as well. So long story short bitcoin miners are not the problem, they are the customers to the people who are killing the world, but not doing it themselves.
3165  Economy / Economics / Re: If you don't buy don't come here to complain on: January 26, 2022, 02:50:39 PM
I think it's fair though for people to bitch around the missed opportunity when the price of bitcoin is still low and they didn't buy. It's part of the market and hopefully they have learned their lessons already and it will also send signals to new investors to really grab the opportunity once we enter a bear market because it is really a bargain, as you could buy crypto at a cheap price and build your portfolio for a long time or least during the 2-3 years that the market may experience the bearish trend.
That will happen in the future again 100% guaranteed. We are at a low price right now and there will be a lot of people who will act like they have missed a great opportunity by not buying anything right now. Well here we are, we are there right now, buy it? But no, right now they are going to act like bitcoin is dying or they are waiting for it to go down even more, then when the price goes up they will regret not buying at these prices.

This happened like a million times already. I remember 2018 when I was buying crypto as much as I can afford, and I couldn't afford much unfortunately, and people ended up acting as if bitcoin was dead or dying, then in 2020 to 2021 we had a big increase and people acted as if they missed their chances. If you were around, and you are not buying right now, then not getting richer is your own problem.
3166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will competitors overcome ETH due to ever-increasing gas fees? on: January 25, 2022, 09:51:05 PM
It will definitely make a difference, but I do not think that it will get over ETH, just make them get closer. It is not easy to be second ranked coin in crypto, it is definitely not a thing that small time brand new things could do. I understand that ADA and SOL and BNB all tried, but unfortunately that second place is a very strong place to be.

I remember namecoin days, I remember litecoin days, I remember xrp days, I can see the ETH days now as well, and that's about it, nobody stayed more than 30 days aside from these coins. So do not hope that something else will take over that easily, it will take some time for them to do something like this. I believe it needs time and maturity to reach there.
3167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $34k the bottom?? on: January 25, 2022, 09:08:44 PM
We reached as low as nearly $33k levels. That is really a horrible fall and we are now a bit higher. However, that doesn't mean that it will keep going up, it just means that it is higher right now.

I feel like there is a good chance we could see it drop even more. Whenever there is a big fall like this, there are a lot of people who take advantage of it and buy from that cheap level and sometimes it rolls over and creates a good increase, but eventually they will stop. So, at that point if people think that it is looking good then it is looking good but if it is still going down and not normal then the price will keep going down for a long time as well, we could see even worse prices.
3168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market sentiments ? on: January 25, 2022, 08:32:54 PM
People are feeling like they have given up already, it is looking too bad, and things are not looking great. I get that it is not easy to be joyful during a period like this, it is even beyond that "buy more and hold" period because it is looking horribly low for most people. However, this is exactly the period to make money, if I could do it, I would make every person realize that they are actually in a great spot right now.

To buy bitcoin at this price, when the ATH price is more than 2x away, would be a great idea, everyone should do it and everyone should get as much bitcoin as they possibly could, I know that it is not easy right now but there are no other methods, just sitting on your chair and crying all day won't solve anything.
3169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 25, 2022, 07:45:01 PM
Would anyone feel weird if Lakers missed playoffs? I am not saying that they will, but would you really be shocked? At this point a team that had championship goal by the end of the season being so bad that people wouldn't be shocked if they were not even on playoffs tells us all we need to know about that team. I mean they are just horrible, terrible, and that is with Lebron being awesome as well.

If it was a bad season for Lebron then I would understand, but he is playing one of his best seasons ever at 18th season and we are still not seeing anyone be any good around him. It really sucks to see them this way but as long as they keep Vogel there, they are going to keep being a horrible team. They need to get someone better, much better, not like some Jason Kidd or Fizdale type of deal, I mean like seriously great head coach that will turn things around.
3170  Economy / Economics / Re: How To Profit From MASSIVE Inflation on: January 25, 2022, 07:01:09 PM
you can tell that his recommendations are superb, ranging from real estate, commodities and I will also add bitcoin as the high priority one. Real Estate because once their is inflation, properties tends to grow more in value, secondly commodities because once their is inflation production price will also rise and they don't get affected and lastly US savings bond too keeps up with inflation and your guaranteed return is sure.

I believe bitcoin will become a trusted hedge for all people around the world to safeguard against inflation. It may take time but the good thing is the trend of adopting bitcoin as a hedge is already started.
Real Estate could be a great investment, but it is also very expensive to start. Where I live, we do not have too much land, which means we all live in apartments, there are probably just 1-5% houses here, rest are all apartments and tall buildings, people build like 10 story tall buildings to live, with 20 or even 40 apartments (4 on each floor, tiny places) so it is hard.

So, for me to invest into real estate, it would take about 500 months worth of salary, that's right, I need 500 months to save my money and not spend a single dollar from it as well. We all know that is impossible, so I need to find a way to invest my money some other way and make money that way until I have enough to buy a house. It is not a bad idea, I agree with that, but it is both a no-brainer and obvious plus very expensive to start at the same time which makes it a not good advice.
3171  Economy / Economics / Re: What If? on: January 25, 2022, 05:48:09 PM
Does it really even matter? I mean China is already a nation that benefits from using dollars, if they stopped doing it, would that hurt USA? Of course, but it is obvious that it would hurt China even more because that is how they get rich. They manufacture stuff, sell it to the whole world and get dollars in return, making them hold more dollars than even USA in the future.

So, I would guess that there is a good case to be made for China to keep using it, but even if they did stop, that would not really hurt the USA as much as it would hurt their opponents. Same goes for Iran, they are already not trading with USA anyway, so it wouldn't change much. We have to accept the fact that even though China is growing in power, the type of power China has and the type of power USA has will always be different, and that is why China could never blackmail too big countries, maybe some small one in Africa, but not the USA, the UK, France, Germany etc etc.
3172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to become a dapp developer. on: January 24, 2022, 09:12:06 PM
Learning by doing. I have been in the developers world for a long time, I haven't really developed anything great myself, just small stuff, usually adding or removing stuff from others work to perfect it, instead of building it. However, as a marketing person who has been involved with many projects, I have watched developers figure stuff out while doing it and that is how they learned it.

If you think that developers study to be a developer for years and never develop anything, and only develop something when they feel like they know everything, you are VERY wrong. They develop basic calculator if they know how to at first, just do something, do anything, just develop it and learn the mindset of it.

You want to be a dapp developer? Figure out some ways to learn how to do that and do it, test it. You will fail to develop a dapp, then you will google how to do it, and learn the start, then try it, fail again later on, google it and so forth until you finish it. First will be bad, but if you insist on it then you can be good and even great.
3173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 24, 2022, 08:21:11 PM
I really worried that it would be a 0-0 game and it did happen. I am not saying that this game was deserved by one team or the other, I know that if one team wins than the other teams fans will be sad, so do not get what I am saying wrong, but as someone who is not from Italy, all I care about is my bet winning (which lost) and/or watching a good game.

I already lost, I said Juventus would win, but at the very least Milan could have win this and it could have been still a fun game. I mean imagine that it is 3-0 first half, Juventus is ahead, and I am super happy, then Milan scores 4 more goals, and wins, last one at 90+3, like how Liverpool won recently, isn't that super exciting? That would give some fun to this boring world we are living in. I mean I could just watch a boring movie if I wanted to spend 90 minutes with 0-0 result in the end.
3174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This use case even make any sense? on: January 24, 2022, 06:41:40 PM
Only rewards makes no sense of course. However we agreed to hold bitcoin which gives us nothing. If you look at a technological and financial standpoint, we increase bitcoin by buying more but we expect nothing else from it, we gain absolutely nothing from holding it. Only thing good about bitcoin is that we believe it will go up. So, when you say that a coin or token only promises rewards for holders and nothing more, even that is more than what bitcoin provides.

Basically the expectations from newer projects are higher than what we have for older projects, look at LTC, why is that even still remotely related? %90+ of all the successful projects that started out in 2021 can be seen as miles better than LTC, but people expect less from it. So, it is not about what the project provides, it is about what you expect from it and we expect more from new projects.
3175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bull is back? on: January 23, 2022, 08:48:39 PM
We had a great bull run in October, we are basically living the pullback from that. I know that it should have been going up already according to some analysts but sometimes what you expect doesn't happen. We just need to let it be for a while and we are going to end up with doing a lot better in the long run. Just focus on holding and accumulating as much as you can during this period, and in the end we are going to end up with going up and profiting. It may happen in a month, it may happen in a few months but it will eventually happen and the price will go up.

There is nothing we can do to stop the fall right now, not individually at least, and we just need to end up holding and waiting for it to go up. This is the only way we could profit, it is not a nice period to be in as a holder, but it is also not a horrible one neither considering we could accumulate from cheaper prices.
3176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Touched the Bottom RSI three times on: January 23, 2022, 07:42:15 PM
It is not a shock that after a huge increase we end up with a huge crash which in return results with a huge increase. It is just a cycle, markets always do this, it is not like we are going to just keep crashing, is there anyone who thinks we will have another 50%+ drop? I mean we are not going to end up with like 15k or something, we are going to end up with 70k+, that is too obvious.

The only problem right now is how long it will take and not whether it will happen or not. I am going to just keep on buying more and more each month and I know that it will end up with absolutely no problem at all. It is going to just be something quite easy, just hold a few months and I will 2x easily.
3177  Economy / Economics / Re: How To Profit From MASSIVE Inflation on: January 23, 2022, 05:52:27 PM
I love these types who keep saying "well if you buy a house and create debt, your debt will be very tiny in 30 years whereas your income will be huge due to inflation!", dude do I look like I can buy a house? Like what is wrong with these people?

Housing prices could be fine in the USA and you may get one, but here it costs somewhere between 50k to 350k to buy a house and the minimum wage is like 300 dollars, yes I make more than minimum wage but not like I make 10k per month, I do not make that at all, I barely make twice as much as minimum wage, and that is good but nowhere NEAR enough to buy a house. That is why I am in crypto and it has been helping me slowly grow my capital.
3178  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook Diem on the run for launch on: January 23, 2022, 04:44:07 PM
Although I know that it’s true Facebook usually have problems with handling of user’s data, let’s hope that they have learnt their lessons and would do better this time around in making sure that their users data is secured.
No one is talking about the Facebook Diem any longer, and I have even forgotten about it until I came across this topic again. Is the project still going to work out at all?

Now, Facebook seems to have moved on to some other projects, it’s quite possible that they are going to overlook the Libra/Diem project and focus mainly on metaverse which seems like it is going to be the next biggest thing that we will see. Unless maybe they will decide to launch this cryptocurrency later on, on their metaverse platform. We don’t know this yet and as time goes on we will all get know.
3179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you buying during this dip? on: January 22, 2022, 05:33:10 PM
SOL seems to be doing fine again. I have to say I lucked out on that, normally I hold coins and I do not sell that easily, but this time around I ended up with selling my SOL when they froze the blockchain. That is not something that I ever do, I either hold coins or I sell them and get out completely, I do small time trading but not for holding. So for the first time ever, I bought a coin, held it for a while, when it was high priced, I sold it because of the blockchain issue and not related to anything else, and I assumed that would be it and I would never have SOL again.

However, recently I have seen them dominate the NFT market after ETH, and that is a great thing. So, I jumped into it again, cheaper than what I sold, so I kind of made a profit. It all turned out great for me, but I do not know the future, maybe it will drop in price again, who knows?
3180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitrage in crypto on: January 22, 2022, 05:09:38 PM
I once used a trading bot that did arbitrage whenever it found one. This became a lot easier whne you consider the fact that arbitrage could be done even in just one exchange. Like we could do btc-eth-ltc trio as arbitrage if we want to, or use usdt there instead. This is why it became easier to find arbitrage opportunities but there are a lot of competitions going around as well. Places like swaps in the smart contract world have bigger chance, because one price in one swap might be different from another, and that results with bigger chances that not many people know.

Some very low level cap tokens could have hundreds of dollars sitting there because people didn't check it, yesterday I made about 8 dollars in profit because I remembered a token and wanted to check and saw a chance. So it is there, but it is very hard to find them and they are not frequent.
