2221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UEFA Nations League 2020/2021 Discussion Thread on: September 22, 2022, 09:40:30 PM
Once again world cup is getting closer and nations would have had some friendlies if they could but instead they are playing in this insanely sueless tournament. I can't believe that they are forcing nations to join this, it's just another way of making money by UEFA who already makes so much money and didn't want nations to do their own friendlies and decided that every single game could be played under either Fifa or Uefa banner.

In the end, these games do not matter, no proper nation would care about these games and it's clear that we are going to see them not even play their starting eleven at certain times, maybe younger players who want to show themselves.
2222  Economy / Speculation / Re: Saylor equivalents? on: September 22, 2022, 08:18:21 PM
I do not understand why people are worried, like for example if they are willing to buy bitcoin via microstrategy (which is not even a hedgefund to begin with) then they could end up buying bitcoin at coinbase as well, legally you would be able to do either do both or neither, so if you buy bitcoin at coinbase, it's better.

I understand the fear to buy bitcoin at a risky place, you shouldn't buy it at any risky place at all but that doesn't change the fact that trusted places like binance or coinbase wouldn't be safe. If they are afraid of it, then they should wait until they are not, because alternatives are always worse and doesn't make sense to me.
2223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't keep connected your wallet to a Dapps for a long time. on: September 22, 2022, 07:26:50 PM
I had this trouble before, there was a period where I was too much interested in defi projects and I was part of too many of them, lesson learned of course and I did not after a while but lost a good chunk there.

During that time I was interested in so many of them and connected so many of them (even ones I didn't invested into) that after a while I got a warning that someone tried funny stff with my address, eventually I used unrekt to make sure that I do not have any connection to any defi or actually anything that I wasn't using constantly. After I removed them, the warnings stopped and to be fair I do not have any money left on my metamask neither.
2224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum POW - ETHW on: September 22, 2022, 06:35:12 PM
It was of course expected someone to build something where a hard fork of eth that continues in the proof of work environment. The ideas behind this will make some people want to be part of it but the reality is that we are not going to see too much of it becoming a reality, it is going to hurt them a little bit.

The reason why is that people who wants to see ETH being a proof of work will end up investing into this, it might have been given free to some people but it will be bought and sold and basically traded which means anyone who buys this for idealistic reasons will end up losing money because not many more will end up buying it forever in the long run, like bitcoin cash.
2225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 21, 2022, 06:15:33 PM
Gambling is something you are legally could do after you turn 18, why would it be something that could be viewed by thousands of kids on twitch? I support the idea that it is not something that should be streamed, I mean this sliker dude himself is the proof that it would be a horrible way to continue your life if you are an irresponsible person.

At the end of the day, there would be a lot of people "if I only win once" type of thinking and thousands of people who watch gambling on twitch will see people win and assume they could too and end up losing a lot of money. This is why I support that twitch should ban gambling and remove anyone who continues to do it.
2226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: September 21, 2022, 05:54:20 PM
Anyone who knows about formula would know that these long breaks would mean that anything could happen next race. Teams probably already stopped caring about this year and started their research on next year's car because it's obvious where who will finish, but there are a few teams trying to gain some positions in the middle pack and I am guessing something shocking could happen there, if everyone is looking at next year's car and someone makes a good improvement on this year's car, the difference will show itself.

I guess Mclaren could be that team, they got amazing sponsorships and money this year and failed to provide, that's why I am not sure if they will look at next year yet.
2227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meta universe on: September 21, 2022, 04:15:19 PM
I honestly believe that it is not going to be as good as people think it will be, it will be just an "attempt" and failure that is it. People are expecting the worlds out of the metaverse world, but the reality is that we do not have the tech to continue doing that for now, it is going to be very tough because in the end we are going to face with the truth that meta can't be build with whatever we have right now, not the money, not the resources, not the tools, not the people we have right now in the world could do it.

Of course we can have someone crazy like Elon Musk deciding to spend 50 billion dollars to try to build one, but even that would be very hard and would take a decade to build what "meta" means to us.
2228  Economy / Economics / Re: DAO & Electricity on: September 21, 2022, 03:51:09 PM
DAO is not used for what you think at all times, I mean it could be, but the general term DAO is not like that. You could literally be a company and work towards being like a group of developers who build things, like websites and games and what not and then you could have a DAO structure for it so that everyone would get a fair share, just like a company with stocks, and the people who get paid would get paid based on how many they have.

So, electricity doesn't "really" matter in that case, mining is not always regarding DAO, hence it means that we shouldn't really consider them all the same things and people with all the same aims.
2229  Economy / Economics / Re: California sues Amazon, alleging its policies cause higher prices everywhere on: September 21, 2022, 02:53:08 PM
It is certainly a difficult job to be in the senate of California, or be its governor or mayor anywhere there, or basically have any sort of power. It is a state where the silicon valley people are making a huge huge amount of money and increasing the prices of course, living in a world where money is abundant for them, and anyone else there would be living in poverty.

By comparison, there are "people" who are richer than famous Hollywood celebrities and they are just employees, a good CTO could make a lot more and you wouldn't even know who they are, how many people know the name of Amazons CTO really? Hence, amazon does, but it is not just amazon, silicon valley drives the prices up together, for anyone who is not working in tech.
2230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: September 20, 2022, 09:21:40 PM
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.f1-announces-24-race-calendar-for-2023.7oNRaq4kZ2bwTAmL7r6dqg.html

Formula just announced the dates for next seasons races, and it looks like 24 races will happen if all goes well, I still think that there is a fine line between having too much, but also leaving money on the table.

If you have too little amount of races, then you would lose money for formula 1 and causing it to make even less money, most teams barely go by, on the other hand if you race too much, it is going to be a logistical hell for teams to run around and have so many races and have it all delivered on time, we already have trouble sometimes. So all in all, I am guessing that 24 could be pushing the limits, we will see how it will happen, but if it works perfectly, they can try to increase it each year until they face a limit.
2231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metaverse in 2022, which projects are value to invest? on: September 20, 2022, 08:23:33 PM
I think there are hyped ideas at some times, ICO, IEO, STO, NFT, META all gets their attention at some time or another and when they do people think that it will go on but in reality we are talking about things that will not be a long term solution to anything.

I feel like the best thing to do would be understanding how you could make a profit from old school stuff that goes up by grinding innovative good stuff that gains a lot of attention. Look at ETH, you think it got this big and stayed there by doing nothing? They are constantly improving and becoming better, and I believe they will continue to be great in the long run as well because of this innovative side.
2232  Economy / Economics / Re: Going to war means let's ulter the economic progression on: September 20, 2022, 07:08:21 PM
There is also an economical impact on the taxation as well, many governments tax people a lot more, and spend a lot more on military, even if they are not involved, just so they could be ready in case anything happens, and that is not really acceptable. I personally believe that the best thing to do would be making sure that you are not part of this at all, doesn't make sense to me, just leave it all together and let's not fight.

There are two sides who wants different things? Just sit them on a table, and let them hash it out by talking, even getting angry at times, but somehow figure out a method by without killing a single person, much better outcome.
2233  Economy / Economics / Re: Age as a factor depreciating some people of their dreams on: September 20, 2022, 06:09:40 PM
^ That is why I am trying to do as well, that's how I know. I am planning on working super hard until I am retired, and hopefully retire at a young age, not like 30-40, I am already there, but like 50-55 hopefully but at worst 60 years old. After that I am going to not think about money since I will be retired and from that position of power I will be able to do whatever I want.

I have some ideas, which can be done right now as well but that doesn't change the fact that I do not have the time for it right now, it would require a lot of time, and I am working right now to support my life, when I no longer need it, I will be able to do what I want and maybe it will worth money.
2234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: September 19, 2022, 09:28:40 PM
And with Marseille finally getting a tie, while PSG winning, it is obvious that PSG is the first and intends to stay like that. People overreacted to PSG  a lot, and they shouldn't and it wasn't such a big deal, they assumed that Marseille could win the title like Lille did a year prior, and that is obviously not going to happen at all, look at the game and the result and you will see why.

I believe that the best thing to do now would be waiting for PSG to have even more wins, and they will do fine. It is overreacted, and PSG will show the world how "rich" they are, I mean they are good, but that's mainly thanks to the money they have.
2235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Few crypto thoughts of the day on: September 19, 2022, 08:54:20 PM
I honestly do not think that these questions needs answering, it feels like OP wanted to just project their own ideas and that's fine by me, you can do that and it's fine. I do not think it will be 13k, I think we found the bottom, I do not think it matters if you bought at 10k or 15k but if you bought at 10k then you make bigger profit on the long run, and yeah in 2023 we could still have some world economical problems why not, and lastly it's normal for something this good to get bigger, we should be helping that out.

I am not saying that it's the only way but getting a lot more recognition makes it easier for us, so instead of a harder path, let's get it bigger by getting acknowledgement from bigger places.
2236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CZ claimed Layer 2 isn't really needed yet on: September 19, 2022, 08:11:39 PM
I would guess that "not needed" is something for other coins, ETH needed it back in the day, it was a smarter decision to use layer 2 for a while because ETH had such a huge transaction fee, and people would rather not pay for it, I had the same thing for a while, I have this money in the metamask wallet that is like 20 bucks, and I had trouble getting it out because it would be something difficult with the high amount of payment required.

That's why it's going to be a bit of a trouble that we shouldn't really consider as possibility. Just end up realizing that layer 2 was needed, but MAYBE it's not needed right now which is going to be the case right now with the PoS change in crypto.
2237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 18, 2022, 07:46:40 PM
Not only he made a big mistake by turning down that offer, but he is also making mistake now coming back as well. This team is not as good as that one, plus they got Westbrook, which means that Dennis will be at best a backup PG and not get a lot of minutes, maybe like 20 minutes a game, being possibly the best player of the second unit is not a bad decision, he could get some stats but, but that team has 3 superstars, meaning one of them could be on the floor at all times while the other one rests and that could result with Dennis not getting any good stats neither. He should have found a team that has an open spot at PG he could work for and get some stats, that would have worked better for him.
2238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: September 18, 2022, 04:21:19 PM
Having that kind of schedule is not easy for clubs of course, I mean league then ucl then league then ucl and then leauge again back to back, that has to make some players super tired in the end. I can see even PSG putting players like Messi out of the starting team just so he could take a breather, or maybe they won't do that, but if even PSG is having trouble with the deep bench issue, with all their money, then I am sure Marseille having the same issue would be normal as well.

I am not saying that it would be impossible, they can still beat Rennes, we just need to make sure that an upset is not over. Rennes however also played against Fenerbahce, so they could be tired too.
2239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So the ETH merge has finally happened on: September 17, 2022, 09:04:30 AM
In term short term, it may face tough times, but in the long term I am expecting big grow. Imagine the fact that the more you buy the more you will earn from staking it, in a world like that there is no way that money doesn't go into ETH by the bulk, and maybe it is not happening right now but I am 100% sure that it will eventually happen.

Because of that we are seeing a small drop these days but that doesn't mean how it will be, it will probably end up with a good return and the price will go up eventually. I am holding, and I am buying a bit more, I am going to enjoy the ride to top again, and I am sure I will hold it for far too long and not sell at a profit and wait for it to crash again later on as well, lol.
2240  Economy / Economics / Re: "Be your own Bank with Bitcoin" - A reminder why this is so important! on: September 16, 2022, 09:19:14 PM
This type of story always makes me laugh. She literally had to "rob" the bank to get her own money, and like she could have asked for more, she could have asked for everyone’s money, the bank was probably willing after seeing her with the gun, and that means she purposely didn't want anyone’s money, she just wanted her own money and that is a wonderful thing.

I know that we shouldn't glorize these type of gun related stuff, it is traumatizing to so many people who were in the bank that day, and the teller has no say in this, banks decide this and the one you point the gun to is a teller, not the bank CEO, but still, getting out with only her money is a good move.
