2761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SOL The Chain Goes down Again ! ETH 2.0 and upgrade is the only solution ? on: May 04, 2022, 10:52:04 AM
I kept saying after the first network problem that we should be staying away from SOL. I do not think that ETH 2.0 is the only solution, there are other projects which are doing fine, like what is wrong with Avax? Nothing, or Matic? Or dot?

Basically this isn't just a "only ETH works properly" situation, this is a SOL is not working properly situation we are in. Remember that they froze the network themselves as well, highest level of centralization in any project. If you are still invested in SOL after this, then you should be fine with investing into US Dollars as well since that is at least backed by the government. I personally prefer decentralized projects and SOL isn't one.
2762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Defi Lender Rari Capital hacked Offers $10M Bounty to Hacker on: May 04, 2022, 10:10:48 AM
These type of hacks will continue to happen because we are talking about digital money and digital could be hacked. Like if you hack a bank, which has happened before, then you could get away as much as you can before they realize it and they will catch you since there is a trail of you based on the bank itself, or there used to be bank robberies as well.

But, when we are talking about crypto, it's all digital and hacking is a part of the digital world. So, no matter how well something is secured, it will always be under the threat of getting hacked one day, even if it never gets hacked, it will always be tried to get hacked. Can you imagine how many people are trying to hack Binance every single day? It must be thousands.
2763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 04, 2022, 09:04:23 AM
I agree that racing horses is cruel to them there is no doubt about that. However, figuring out a way to stop that is the key point here.

If you just make it illegal, there will be some loss of votes for the politician that made it illegal, if you are ahead in the polls by a huge margin and there is no worry then you may end up doing it, but it wouldn't be really easy to pull off if it is close. Like for example Kentucky senator can't really propose such a thing, but I am sure New York wouldn't be a problem. All in all it's bad, but just like everything in the world, it comes down to politicians and what benefits them the most and how they could get votes.
2764  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Elon musk's buying of Twitter fueled by Jack Sweeney?? on: May 04, 2022, 08:25:18 AM
I mean spending 50 billion dollars just to get away from 50k payment would be funny, but at the end of the day he knows that if he pays 50k to this kid, some other account will come up and do the exact same thing and ask for 50k again, which wouldn't make sense, he would be out of money eventually because everyone would open an account to follow his moves if that were to happen. Hence, it is clear to me that this can't be stopped.

Only thing he could hope for is that he could start twitter, and then all of his "free speech" bullshit will go away and he will ban anyone who follows anyone's plane, which would be against free speech, but he is that kind of guy anyway.
2765  Economy / Economics / Re: Share your Money management strategy on: May 04, 2022, 06:29:12 AM
Spend as little as possible every month, put money aside, buy bitcoin or ethereum with it. Do you really need more than this. Imagine doing this for every day for the next 50 years and tell me you do not see yourself richer than your wildest dreams? I personally see myself quite rich, and not even 50 years later, I will wait about 10 years and I will be rich enough to retire probably. It will be quite difficult to arrange but it will happen for sure.

I just try to spend as little as possible, now taken on my mom's debt as well which is a difficult thing to pay off but I hope for the best, and then I will end up with putting even more and after 10 years it will be big enough for me to retire.
2766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers - 2nd round (Let's discuss) on: May 02, 2022, 09:48:41 PM
I am not really sure about the domination though. Everyone is acting like Harden all by himself can't do much but this dude played basically "all by himself" during Rockets years and still played very well. I am guessing that he could be doing something in this series that could be helpful for Sixers to get a few wins for sure. I can't say how many games he would help them win but I believe that this series will not be as simple as people claim it to be.

I guess that with Harden on the floor, anything is possible. I am not saying Miami will lose this series or anything by the way, obviously they will be the favorites, but Sixers is not that bad without Embiid and just get swept.
2767  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New crypto arbitrage project/platform on: May 02, 2022, 06:05:43 PM
I really do not know how well I could be doing myself if I was a newbie, so I would probably trust others who said that will give me 3% as well if I was a newbie. However, let's be honest with each other and face the fact that nobody will guarantee you something like that.

They are either lying when they say that they will provide something like this or they are just simply doing something that would be impossible to sustain but they themselves believe that they are doing a great work as well and they will sustain it. Stay away from everyone who provides a guaranteed return at this rate, only decentralized places like swaps can give you an estimate and that's it.
2768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good for crypto community having more Tokens & Coins as well on: May 01, 2022, 09:28:43 PM
I am afraid that it is not something we could decide anyway. I mean it is easily one of the most difficult situations we could consider and it means that we will have to deal with these thousands of coins and tokens coming to the market even if we do not want to. Just accept this fact and move on, everything will be much better that way.

I personally prefer if only the bad ones didn't come and the good ones came up that would be better but at the end of the day we can't cherry pick like that. So, just research them well and you will be able to either find the good ones and make a profit, or find a bad one and lose money to it as well. Not that much choice given.
2769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not all hacked on exchanges are real on: May 01, 2022, 08:34:20 PM
OP didn't say "all" hacked exchanges are fake, of course there are some which are true and I am sure OP is not against that. The fact however stands that some of them are fake, and some of them just take your money and say that they were hacked and get away.

These days it's hard to be a brand new exchange, between all the known and preferred places being at the top and picked by everyone, plus the DEX places called swaps that get no trust required at all, it's rare to see exchanges exit scam but it's still there. Hell, we literally had a netflix docuseries regarding this topic as well, some exchange which suddenly kept everyone's money because owner "died".
2770  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Legal Tender in Panama on: May 01, 2022, 03:55:45 PM
Central Africa just recently did as well, right? What does this change in the tax situation? I mean if I earn crypto by trading, how does it see? Is it still same as me turning my fiat to dollars and back to my fiat and profit from it? Or is it seen as a way that I profited like if I were a company and sold a product?

In any case, we are talking about a proper increase in the level of bitcoins reputation because we are getting more and more attention and that is a great thing for us. I personally love it when bitcoin is taken seriously because when I first got into crypto, we weren't taken seriously at all and now we are legal tender in 3 nations.
2771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Found an excellent coin! on: April 30, 2022, 08:20:31 AM
Just try to add a link to the CMC and maybe anyone will be known the truth if what you are saying was true if this was a shit scam token.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/metapets/

People who have not yet seen that the performance of this token will never know if this was another shit scam token. It seems he was loosing a lot in this token. I would not be surprised to see that if he was shilling for this dead token. I think that if this is a common thing when someone wanna leave from the token.
Basically it is just the combination of NFT idea and the meta idea together and that is where they are trying to make their money from. The fact that we are all depended on the team working hard and making hits into a big thing is red flag for me enough to stay away.

If I have to trust some people to do their job instead of the market itself, then I am not going to invest. If this team goes away today and never comes back, this project will fail and it will never be picked up. This is why there is nothing that I would suggest about this project that looks investable, maybe you would and maybe you would profit from it, but I wouldn't want to be a part of it at all.
2772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TUSDT may be the coin you need to pay attention to on: April 30, 2022, 07:04:23 AM
People will always shill the thing they love, without really considering what the other side might say. TUSDT is something that would be looked as a joke by many of us, it could be promoted like the next big stablecoin but the reality is that it is not providing anything of value at all. I personally do not even enjoy USDT all that much and only trust BUSD because it's backed by Binance which is a big company and would rather deal with something else and I do not trust the integrity of DAI all that much neither.

All of these should show you that if I do not trust these 3 projects, then it must be very difficult for something as silly as TUSDT to gain my trust.
2773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: April 29, 2022, 09:59:30 PM
Vettel has spoken today and released an interview.

He may stop at the end of the season if the result will be not satisfying.

Btw I was sure the Miami race was at the end of this week but I was wrong, it turned out it will be next weekend.
The result will not be good, it can't be good and unless he is signed by some other better team than it is wise for him to retire. It's sad that such a great racer ended up this way by the end of his career, he was one of the best drivers, won it 4 times in a row which hasn't been done too many times before, and he ended up with the worst team in the league by a mile on his last season.

I get that his ferrari years was a big fun and it was a bit of a weird feeling to see him part from there but he could have gone to a better team, aston martin doesn't really feel like "4 time world champion team" vibe. Hopefully they will get a lot better.
2774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ApeCoin on a massive run on: April 29, 2022, 09:53:51 PM
To see that there are still people out there who is willing to risk their money for this fake memecoin is beyond my understanding. I am not saying that people shouldn't be doing it, I mean it is your money and do whatever you want with it by all means, but what led you to believe this was a good project? There are so many good projects out there and you believed that Ape was the one to make you rich? How did that happen?

I personally believe that the best project that I could think of is bitcoin, then all the other top names, I would have to invest like 20+ different coins before I could rely on something like Ape to help me out as well.
2775  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mistake I made till now investing on crypto projects. on: April 29, 2022, 08:48:35 PM
Ohhhh this list is amazing. I have made some of these mistakes and learned the same lessons, even needed some of these lessons to be fair even though I have been around for many years, nearly a decade. I have to say there is never enough mistakes, we just make them all the time and no matter how long you have been here, you keep making those same mistakes all over again.

I am afraid it is not going to be that easy to just watch the list and check every box before you invest, if it was like that then none of us would have made any mistakes. But, it is clearly important to learn from our mistakes and get lessons like this so that we never repeat them again.
2776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You guys think pancakeswap messed up this time? on: April 29, 2022, 08:12:35 PM
When you change some things in these tyep of places, it does return to be a bad decision most of the time because people like to just hold things, for the long term and if you disrupt them then there is nothing that you could convince 100% of the people to come back and be happy as they used to be.

I know not many people may realize this, but there is a huge huge huge part of the crypto world that just buys, and holds for as long as possible and changing things, even for the better if you think so, will not end up with something that will result with a good return because people who do not want to be disturbed will have to do something and some of them may leave.
2777  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So Many Exchanges out there on: April 29, 2022, 06:50:31 PM
Picking any exchange would be hard, I will give you that much. Even if you are dealing with places like Binance or Coinbase, it could become a difficulty because they require KYC and they could still get hacked in a way that your KYC could be shared with the world.
KYC should be serious problem for us, and why we have to worry about this policy ? isn't we want to maximize our security layer to protecting our account. and passing KYC could help to protect, maybe hackers will have trouble when withdrawing our assets but have different name on bank account and receiver. honestly i am feel comfort if asked to pass this stagge, beside for security reason my account limitation could increase.
There is a double edge sword in that situation. If you give your KYC and then report to the exchange that your account is hacked then they could stop the account and then ask you your KYC and you give it to them and they will open it to you only and you will get your account back that way.

This is the great part, which happened to me (sort of) where I forgot my password and didn't had access to my email, so they asked my KYC and I sent them a new picture and they accepted it and I got access. But the downside is the one that I talked about, it is risky because we may not be the ones that get hacked, it could be them that gets hacked as well, which is a problem.
2778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Need a second opinion on the new CAKE staking system on: April 29, 2022, 05:42:24 PM
It’s cake, it’s the pancakeswap, it’s the place that is the biggest defi in all of bsc, if you do not trust them then you are making a huge mistake. The returns may not look great to you, but you should not invest and stake based on your staking income at all, you should consider it like any other token or coin. If you buy it, and the price does 2x then that is why you invested and you should be happy about it. If the staking rewards give you something in return during that period it is even better.

It is not the staking rewards that should attract you, if you are investing just for that then stay away, but if you believe the price of cake will go up, and you "might as well" stake, that’s a better approach.
2779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 29, 2022, 03:19:16 PM
I think Xavi will be keen on keeping Frenkie De Jong, he has been instrumental to the revival of Barcelona since Xavi took over, winning valuable points for the team. If Barcelona would ever allow him leave which I think won't be a smart decision, swapping him with Rashford is even worse of a decision. If Manchester United desperately need Frenkie they should spend the money not giving Barcelona Rashford for the bargain.
I wouldn't blame him if he didn't though. I mean Rashford is definitely a horrible swap, a player that worth’s 110 million should be sold directly, and if you are getting a player in return, it should still be paid on top of that and a huge sum as well. But, if United spends 110 million on De Jong then they won't be able to pay anyone else at that point. This is why I believe that either this will not happen or it will happen straight up.

Xavi likes De Jong for sure but with 110 million he could get 2 Ferran Tores level players and that would be al ot better for the team in the long run. They need to pay their debts as well and selling a player would help a lot.
2780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: April 28, 2022, 09:37:27 PM
Everyone is talking about how PSG squad is good and all, but if you remove Mbappe from it, is it really still looking that good to you? Don't get me wrong they are still fine, but this is the same team that lost to Lille and failed to win the league just a year ago with Mbappe on the roster, you think they would be great without him?

Possibly another win for the league for sure, but they would be much worse compared to other european giants. They lost with this roster to Real Madrid and they will lose Mbappe on top of that. I feel like it is not just about the manager change, their roster is not as great as people think it really is.
