321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of members of BitcoinTalk sentenced in a court of law concerning Bitcoin. on: May 30, 2015, 03:23:09 AM
You could list BurtW in the "Pending" section, here is one of the threads for more info.: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=985596.0

Could definitely use a little more exposure in my opinion.
322  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you expect from the halving in 2016? on: May 30, 2015, 01:23:07 AM
I'm hoping that there will be less new coins being mined and less miners dumping onto the market, so hoping for a nice price increase and then another stable plateau. I think people dropping off of mining will reduce difficulty and then we'll have waxing & waning cycles of difficulty rising and falling and new miners coming into it. I could see maybe a stable $400-450 Bitcoin with a higher potential of rising at any time. I would be totally fine with that. But I mean really who knows? It's Bitcoin and it is pretty damn revolutionary...  Anything could happen in this experimental new economy. I'm just glad to be on board for the ride.
323  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Circle is giving away $5/~0.021 BTC for new users on: May 29, 2015, 05:05:23 PM
It's not a repost, they're celebrating the fact that Google featured the Circle app at the I/O event this year.

324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IBM Bitcoin Rain on: May 29, 2015, 04:16:33 PM
^ Thanks for sharing another working link for the video.

As already stated: Major kudos to IBM for doing this! It's an extremely cool and unique idea and shows some of the new possibilities that can be accomplished with Bitcoin technology! And $50,000 is no chump change!

As to all the people that commented about these people immediately dumping all of their newfound BTC, sure some of them maybe did, but this was a very specialized audience who are all very proficient in tech. and most likely understand the potential of Bitcoin, I would definitely say some of them are HODLING or using it for other positive means. I definitely have a newfound respect for IBM after seeing this.
325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brain Wallet hacked, suspect bitcoin talk hackers. on: May 29, 2015, 03:44:48 PM
I am very sorry to hear this happened to you, it is an unusually shitty circumstance.

I haven't read the whole thread, so this may have been mentioned, but I saw you said you weren't very computer savvy: You don't have to mess with Github at all, but if you want to use bitaddress.org, go to the options on say Chrome browser and click "Download Webpage". Download it as a complete webpage, then disconnect your computer from the Internet, open the file in your web browser, and then generate your desired amount of addresses while disconnected from the Internet. It is the best way I can recommend to anybody who is not really computer savvy; it is pretty simple for I think anyone to do.
326  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Circle is giving away $5/~0.021 BTC for new users on: May 29, 2015, 03:26:50 PM
It wasn't expired for me, I downloaded the App, registered and confirmed email, scanned the code and had the free $5 of BTC within 5 minutes. Thanks OP!

328  Economy / Goods / Re: CBD oil on: May 27, 2015, 03:51:25 PM
I've sold CBD oil on here in the past through my friend's company Milk Mane Supply. (The CBD oil, Dab Pens, and E-Cigarettes are no longer listed on his site because PayPal wanted to be a bitch about it)

But if it's relatively pure CBD oil, and no THC content, it is legal in most countries (not all, but most) and I don't think the mods would have any problem with it this time around either.

EDIT: This is the kind we were selling.

Received my payment thanks marcotheminer and Bitcoin_BOy$. I knew everything would get sorted out.

I do like how each coin has the full address engraved on it.

Agreed.
The full addy is needed, else would it not be possible to transfer funds to the coin.
Blockchain searches with only the first digits only work if the address has already appeared on the blockchain.

An interesting site note: Mike preloaded all his empty bearer bars with 0.001 BTC, so they public addy was searchable with only knowing the first digits.

I'm off-topic here too TookDk, but I have never really had any luck searching the Blockchain for some of my coins or addresses using only the first bits. I don't think blockchain.info recognizes first bits for searches anymore and sites that claim to never work for me. Things could have changed recently though, I don't know.
331  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN][WTS] Brand new line of Physical Coins!....With a Distribution Twist on: May 26, 2015, 07:04:48 PM

Trivial is not even the word.  I hand verified addresses with the engravings not once but twice.  My eyes felt like they were bleeding after that..lol I then separated all of coins into groups and only worked on one coin at a time all the way through packaging.  Once each coins address was verified I made one printout of the public and private key, matched it up to the coin with the correct engraving, cut off the public key and put the private key right in the recessed area and applied the hologram sticker.  Then it went right into a coin capsule for protection and then into the pack and sealed shut.  Did this again and again until they were all finished.  Very time and labor intensive.  I've said it before but I have a new found respect for people who make these coins.  I did it this way to ensure absolutely no errors would occur, as I've treated each coin individually and not as a bulk production.  With the price I'm asking verses all of the coin and packaging along with the hours upon hours of labor, I'm really not making a killing off of these.  Enough to get some lunch and make a new series of coins.  Its a hobby now that hopefully I can turn into a legitimate business, all the while wearing protective gloves, that made it just a little harder to work with than normal..

I like the coins with the addresses right on them as it adds a little more than just a 'token' to the piece.  Thanks for hte interest.

wheelz1200

I can definitely respect that, better to do things the right way and spend more time on them than have a mix-up or security breach occur.

wheelz, just curious if your rl identity is known? Some other coin manufacturers have made clear their identities making the concept of preloaded keys more trustworthy (as there is someone that - at the least - can be held accountable.)

If he sends my package from his real return address I will have his info. I would only ever give it out to someone if they had concrete evidence he mishandled or copied private keys and if he wouldn't respond to questions/complaints himself. But I honestly don't see that happening in this case.

333  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN][WTS] Brand new line of Physical Coins!....With a Distribution Twist on: May 26, 2015, 05:52:41 PM
I thought the idea sounded cool and for $15 I rolled the dice and bought a pack last night before even seeing pictures! I thought about just buying a single Darkcoin, or Clamcoin (to send my Just-Dice winnings to), but decided to go for a random pack in hopes of getting a BTC, LTC, or DOGE. As mentioned, we can always trade/sell other coins as needed. I do like how each coin has the full address engraved on it.

And I will try to snap some nice pictures for you after receiving it!

EDIT: Is there really an altcoin named "Coin2"? I'm not sure where they are going with that marketing strategy  Cheesy
334  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN][WTS] Brand new line of Physical Coins!....With a Distribution Twist on: May 26, 2015, 06:12:21 AM
wheelz1200 explained his concept to me a little more via PM and I decided to go ahead and try out one of the random packs! Payment sent for pack + shipping, I will let you guys know what I get.
335  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN][WTS] Brand new line of Physical Coins!....With a Distribution Twist on: May 26, 2015, 04:05:47 AM
I edited my post but yeah I'll go ahead and buy the first pack or physical Bitcoin you're selling for $15. I haven't even seen pictures yet but it sounds cool and the price is decent for sure. I can send first on this I don't feel like you would have come up with all of this plan to rip me off for $15-20 ha. Just shoot me a PM and let me know what's available.

Thanks
336  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN][WTS] Brand new line of Physical Coins!....With a Distribution Twist on: May 26, 2015, 03:50:58 AM
That is a lot of info. that I'll have to read through in full again but it does sound interesting with the trading cards comparison of a lucky pack. I'm confused as to when you are selling these though- now, or working on them, or pre-orders? Sorry I'm sure you probably stated that like I said I need to read the full post.

EDIT: For $15 I'd be interested in buying the first pack (or individual coin?) and checking them out.
337  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling 2010 Silver Eagles for Bitcoin on: May 25, 2015, 08:15:24 PM
Yeah, eBay/PayPal's fees freakin' suck...    You have to clear over 10-15% profit to even make Any profit (if flipping items that is). Welcome to the forum, you can make decent sales/profits here because it's P2P, no middleman taking their cut. However, for things to go smoothly for you here, I would strongly suggest 2 things: 1) write your forum username and today's date on a piece of paper and place it near your items for a picture; this proves you actually have the items, and 2) while you build up your reputation here you should use a trusted third-party escrow, such as OgNasty. This will not only protect your buyers but also protect you if they try saying they didn't receive it.

Good luck with sales

I noticed I didn't get paid either but I understand the bot may have some catching up to do after we've been offline for days and I'm not really trippin' about it; I know all will get sorted in time. Hopefully BitcoinTalk stays up and we don't have another outage...   Although when you think about it this place probably faces some heavy attacks on the daily from a variety of different people & groups.

340  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How much should physical Casascius Bitcoin cost today ? on: May 19, 2015, 07:28:31 PM
Wow, I didn't know about origin of the gold plated bitcoins and the fake counterparts from China.
I gifted one of them to a friend Tongue   ... I guess you learn something new everyday.

Next time of i willingly gift one of those to someone,  i will also take time to explain them a story about the original coins and of course the Casascius ones.

I'm not mad at ya at all, you would have no way of knowing it's a counterfeit unless you already had prior knowledge of a relatively unknown coin series. It does suck for the original creator Antana though, they make his coins worth less because people assume they are the same Chinese coins they've already seen for a buck or 2 everywhere on eBay. Like I said there are a lot of fake Titans and Lealanas as well, but these are Very Easy to spot because they don't even attempt the security hologram, and instead have a different and crappy reverse.

Thanks for that, I was under the impression those were just cheap China coins and had no idea they were a replica of an actual coin (Antana Statistic).    Smiley

I hope the upcoming book that comes out regarding physical bitcoins has enough information to be able to tell the difference between these types of counterfeits.

I think it will, IIRC I saw where elianite said there will be a section on counterfeits, and elianite knows his shit pretty well. I think his book will become the authoritative reference book on all physical cryptos, sort of like the Red Book that every coin shop owner owns is for US coins. I can't wait to see his finished product, that will be very cool.
