yes I see that I misunderstood, it'd be cool if a private key could be represented by the 52 cards in a standard deck but I guess it can't, how about a 78 card Tarot deck *goes to add up A-Z & a-z & 0-9* brb

This reminds me of a password generator I came up with while soaking up the southern sunshine. Take a standard playing card deck (perhaps with distinct jokers, optional), then assign a character from ~base58 to each card. Shuffle them up and draw some cards.

I looked in to embossing on metal, like dog tags, but found a better solution looked like being to laser engrave - here it's on an aluminium credit card size, titanium would be cool, a free business idea for Casascius or someone to provide

The problem here though is that it's for 50 identical cards whereas a run of just 3 or so with each private key would be fine as a backup physical storage, I see they also offer engraved rings in tungsten or titanium which would be cool as the private key could be hidden on the inner side & worn while a backup kept in a safe place & engraved inside a gold ring would be a most desirable object - like a posy ring

knowing next to nada about trading but how about if some manipulator did a giant sell order to flush out a bunch of sell stops because he was basically long & wished to spook them & then a few mili seconds later made equal or greater buy orders & maybe was betting with leverage on the price movements or wanted to see if he could trigger a large instant bot panic crash & buy back in lower if that happened

Hiya, my very first BTC buy/sell/offer of goods/services, I'm offering a couple of BTC for a simple animation of this image - turning it in to a GIF maybe (I know next to nada but assume that it's easy to do, it's just for fun not commercial)

Sometimes I see an image like this and I think, "Is that one of those pictures where one part is animated in an eerie way?" and then I realize it isn't, but it should be. The tip of that cat's tail should be twitching slowly.

one of the best ways to short the US$ is to buy gold, oil, (options or actual) or a basket of strong alternative fiat currencies - except most of them are also basket cases atm, € cough cough

so say buy $1,000 worth of Bitcoin (400) & if it's price rises for example from $2.5 to $3 per BTC then take your $200 profit out by selling 66.6 BTC keeping your original 400 BTC stake unchanged, then buy physical gold or similar with this $200 on bullionvault.com

repeat as & when you see BTC highs & gold lows

suggested because Bitcoin atm is far from being an inverse play upon the $ so you'd have to do it via a proxy asset

in the future, well it's the dream of many here that it may one day be

So was your BTC limit raised?  If so do you mind sharing how much or what was the max limit they would allow?


Note that there are withdrawal limits. Here is the detail of your limits:

You can still withdraw up to 900.00000000 BTC provided you have enough on your account (your limit is 1,000.00000000 BTC per 24 hours )
You can still withdraw up to $10,000.00000 provided you have enough on your account (your limit is $10,000.00000 per 24 hours and $50,000.00000 per 30 days)

I haven't tried to talk with MagicalTux about raising my individual limits as molecular keeps suggesting because I don't know how or care to spend the time to find out, I communicate with & through the MtGox web site & am happy with the present limit though really don't see why there should be one at all when I use an MtGox Yubi key to log in & again secondary Yubi key long press of it to initiate a withdrawl (when I logged in just now to C&P the updated W/D limits I'm sure the random code that the Yubi generated for this that flashes past started with 'lmao...'  it's probably mocking me)

well finally verified 7 hours ago, it took 3 days as the first scan of my passport was rejected for no good reason (banks find it fine) then multiple attempts to upload a high res photo trying different file sizes of it didn't work all day yesterday due the some MtGox glitch finally with an apology & no explanation I received an email that my account had been verified today. Incidentally a couple of days ago I couldn't even withdraw the daily limit of 100 BTC due to an erroneous error message that kept reporting an invalid address to send to when it was not, just like as in the past one needs an appreciation of farce & a strong sense of humour when dealing with the Gox

Edit to add, the utility bill that I uploaded was my land line phone/Internet bill & was accepted so I assume the person above who's wasn't may have tried to use a mobile/cell phone bill perhaps?

I think trading records would go a long way. It would show that not only are you accurate with respect to your macro view, but that you can, and do, translate that into actionable trades. You can anonymize your records, only show percentages, whatever, but having such data would probably make the site far more interesting to people from the start.

Of course, you'd have people wondering "if this is for real, why is this guy letting me coat-tail his trades for $24/mo", but I think you can probably find reasonable ways to answer that.

just ran up against this 100 Btc limit today when I wished to do an arbitrage sell on another exchange & hence lost the opportunity, have now uploaded pics of ID & utility bill today for verified much larger withdrawals - will post how long this takes & any hiccups, also really what's the point for Mt.Gox as when withdrawing in Btc any random uploaded stuff would do & probably for $ etc too - it's not like they can confirm any photo of an ID or address is actually tied to any specific account holder unless they're the CIA or something, so it's just an inconvenience & breach of privacy for normal users & np to spoof for bad guys just like 99% of these restrictions that companies cook up in the name of security unless I've missed something here, real security would be offering to let you permanently set an irrevocable dedicated Bitcoin address that you can only W/D to for high amounts & the same for $ etc W/Ds, my favourite is bullionvault.com where funds can only be W/D to the exact same unique bank account that they were originally funded from
