2661  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Hashkings Lending, Deposits(Specials), Escrow and Bitcoin Purchaser on: May 10, 2012, 09:37:21 PM
It was noted also in the subject of the thread. No way to miss it Cool

I was afk today so would have missed it in any case, but my preference would be for specials to be announced in the thread as I look at new posts on stuff that I'm interested in & following but that's all mostly, I don't refresh the whole section of lending to see if the OP has been edited or not

request for some way to strip out the silly bids/asks from the charts, like the 2,000 bonds issued PPT series have 10,000 quantity bid @ 0.00000001 which just messes up the chart & makes the relevant part of the information to be not discernible, like just chart from 0.5 to 1.5 say - apart from this I like the new look & features, thanks!

Judge, judge! This man stole my virtual internet monies!!!

I expect that if the FBI are treating bitcoin thefts, scams & frauds seriously then judges would do so too

While people are trying to guess his business model, here's my 2 satoshis - he has a/multiple clients who wish to amass a fat stash of bitcoins & don't mind paying through the nose in fiat $ for it, guessing 10 - 15 - 20% over spot & they buy regularly like say once a week or 2, this is because they have a big constant inflow of cash that they wish to move around the world outside of the banking system, where every they move it they have the means to change back from bitcoins to their preferred fiat or merchandise, quite a few enterprizes could fit this bill (hi Wal-Mart.mx)

Lets say that after Gavin's presentation to the CIA they saw the advantages of a company fund, maybe to use for entrapment, to pay anon informers, bribes, prepagardo 'ho/s for the president's security detail, wanted dead or alive rewards (Fahd al-Quso hello, well that's goodbye actually*), a host of other nefarious purposes spring to mind & being spooks they wish to have no paper trail & plausible denialability so they dip in to their black ops cash slush fund & head to downtown Texas, or it's virtual equivelent, where Pirate is happy to oblige them & becomes untouchable to LE in the process, just one small op could account for this 6 months past funding - it could even be LEO themselves getting a healthy float in an off the books manner for whatever they would like to mess with, I mean people do buy, sell & do illegal stuff with this currency so if they're going to sit at the table & act like a player then they need a stack of chips first

disclaimer, I have an active imagination but also a lot of coins with Pirate - I'm so patriotic  Wink

* edit: that's 1,000,000 bitcoins fiat equivalent was offered just for Quso's GPS loc & you can bet that if their Brit mole had demanded payment in small denomination, used bitcoins then that's what he would have got - who'd want to trust those leaky old Useless Banks of Switzerland nowadays anyway, so last century
2666  Economy / Securities / Re: PPT Bonds for the European market on: May 08, 2012, 02:46:35 PM
+1 works for me, I actively trade the PPTs & don't wish to have more than 4 at a time to monitor & especially not Europecentric poor relation ones - I'd just ignore them even if the launch time suited me better, so good choice BODs - hopefully

2668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin tx free messaging service 888 on: May 08, 2012, 02:28:06 PM
Bitcoin free messaging service 0.00888000

Here's a way to send a message along with your Bitcoin tx, just send any regular amount down to 2 decimal places only, then include the code x.xx888 BTC followed by the number of your post here in 3 digit format on this thread where you have left your message , eg for the case of this post being the message then the amount to send would be x.xx888001 BTC - if/once 1,000 posts are made then it reverts to 001 again, just ignore any 1,000s & use the latest posts to see or place messages, the extra added (or minimum that can be used for this) is about 4.4 cents worth of Satoshis (Edit: to prevent spam txs)

I don't know if there would be any demand for this at all as usually one is in contact with who one sends a tx to, but in some cases one may wish to try & communicate with someone where their contact details are unknown, say the Linode haxers 128u4nNS2DCbPk61aNAXLUTsHZt5FAEtit (the robber's first bag of swag address) or perhaps Satoshi himself 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa (his creation block address, the first tx). Messages can be anything you can post here & are obviously public unless you've previously exchanged a crypto key with the recipient, this could also be done after on a certain date etc by another tx message though that would be public too

I don't suppose there would be too much demand for this, but if there is then I'll set up a web site to do it independently of the forum if wished, and replies here that are not messages are just skipped so people would use the next available post number for their tx message so best to claim one's post number first, compose the message & then send the tx with it in

If this thread would be better off moved to another section of the forum then please do
2669  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Intersango Exchange on: May 07, 2012, 02:55:45 PM
this just released option may be good for those of you where it's hard &/or expensive to get wires sent or where they are heavily monitored by your government - Thailand, Brazil, South America generally, China, Africa etc - just have your Bitcoin funds sent to your existing debit or credit card in your local currency, or a new dedicated $ card, maybe Intersango &/or Gox could link up with these people so as to streamline this from their sites but you can do it yourself right now np, good for smaller amounts where the wire fees would be prohibitive too & for sending money back home to family etc

Personally I would prefer to stick with just the 1 weekly offer of 2,000 or more bonds, make it a Sunday when most people are free - a lot of eBay auctions end then for this reason & choose a time like 5pm UTC which would work well for both US, EU & Asia

5pm UTC = 6pm UK = 7 pm CET = 1pm NY = 10am LA = Midnight BKK

Multiple auctions with less bonds per week just complicates things unnecessarily imo & is too much to keep monitoring the different issue's prices on, is demand going to be 50:50 between US & EU anyway

many thanks BL for May's winnings received & 3% of them have been sent to your donation address as pledged

also as promised I will enter the same 100 BTC in to all further BitLottos until someone else wins the jackpot, I'll do this for June on Sunday the 13th of May, in 1 weeks time

thanks again for a great & revolutionary game  Smiley

I like the concept but don't know enough about the inner workings of Bitcoin to comment on that side, if you only treated second address as the preferred one's when they had exactly 0.00054321 then it would be exceptional odds to get that as a random change tx so shouldn't be a problem for a few billion years, also not only could one have any winnings sent to an offline cold storage wallet but peeps could also make gift or charity bets that can be seen to have been made & show the recipients address for receipt of any winnings, nice present  Smiley

Cutoff notice

If your bid is under 1.065 BTC, you need to move it up, because that's where the 2000 bond depth cutoff is Smiley

this rather depends on how many of those > 1.065 bids are (or may be) cost free shill bids that would get pulled at the last moment (doesn't it?)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shill

It would, but with any bidding, someone could pull a higher bid as well, and they would be hit.  Current bids are over 3300BTC so you would have to assume we're just playing with a couple of thousand unproductive coins - that's not too logical (possible, but not logical).

about 90 minutes to run, cut point is around 1.075.

I said they would pull/cancel their bids before the last moment so no danger of this

there's a lot of peeps who have bought in to the PPT-A & B who might wish to shill things up a bit, just saying  Wink
