I expect that if you could make this available for non programers then there would be some paying interest demand for it, I'd be interested if it was idiot proof or nearly & not needing a PHD in geekism to set up with different parameters
I could have, but you should not be trusting strangers in internet to take care of such stuff. It's a piece of software, which you run on your PC, that deals with your money - you don't know me, so you shouldn't be taking it from me if you cannot understand what is inside. Otherwise someone will screw you over one day - and I'm not being cynical here, it's just life that we all need to deal with yep, I'd always make sure any script had been checked first by someone that I trusted - I wouldn't want it to go all Linode on me, or as you say posted as open source here, like Jessie's Bitcoin alarm free/donationsWhat I can do to help you.. You tell me what do you actually need and I can post some simple scripts here, so others could verify if I'm not screwing you over with them. And then you can run them on your pc, if you want. I can eventually tell you what you need to install first - a software from some trusted source, like google, oracle or microsoft that sounds great, thank you - when I have a little time I will look more in to what I might want, I imagine something like being able to easily enter a pair of EMAs or SMAs & that buy/sell action was triggered when they crossed + x% (x also settable & maybe % move more in the same direction or time? or combo??) But basically, as when it comes to bitcoincharts+bitcoinica, I believe all you need is a continuously running web browser - you can afford it, cant you? yep, my comp is on 24/7 - I don't think that it uses much juice & goes in to sleep mode after a while of afk but I guess would still be checking the APIs etcFor the new mtgox api, which i think is much better, they have a crypto with some weird hmac stuff - I dont know how easy it would be to do it in javascript. Probably php would be best here, since their example actually works - and there is not much more one needs to add over that. yep, to be able to buy & sell or trigger limit orders on Mt.Gox would be great I'd probably need a while to mull it all over, I'm sure that they'd be plenty of others interested in this too

Blockchain.info is good. It sends from an address in your wallet and I think it even has a dropdown box to choose which one. Recommended.
yes it does & all very easy to use too, even when not totally sober PS I've edited my original post above to explain how come I messed up...

Why not from an online wallet?
I like this online wallet as it lets you keep the same address for sending & receiving it seems, unless I messed up with that too https://blockchain.info/wallet

OOPS!
1G5apmPvo2iTtmkNWAHTCET7Y842Ufijs8 did not understand how BitLotto works and just sent 10 BTC for one entry!
Dear 1G5apmPvo2iTtmkNWAHTCET7Y842Ufijs8,
One transaction = one hash = one entry!
You will need to send 0.25 BTC 40 times in 40 different transactions in order to create 40 different hashes for your 40 different "lotto tickets".
Hopefully you will get a 9.75 BTC refund so you can send 39 more separate transactions.
Oppps gambling whilst drunk, never a good idea - lucky that I didn't send it in to a bitcoin black hole - I shall resubmit the 10 BTC in little 0.25 chunks later so that the total remains the same, I'll do this either when my 10BTC has been returned or on the 6th March if still not sent back by then - sorry for the confusion folks edit: I played after finding through a search http://www.bitlotto.com/addresses.html & missed out on seeing the home page http://www.bitlotto.com/ which is why I messed up - it's quite clear on the home page, but no so obvious on the addresses one, maybe that should have a prominent link to the home page on it to make it idiot proof - I was wondering why the current total of wagers wasn't showing on the page that I used, now it's all clear

well seems like Bitcoinica survived the Linode Hax tsunami hopefully & they are probably now processing any significant withdrawals manually from off line wallets or something, delays are to be expected & they're probably too busy fire fighting atm & getting new stuff in place to update much if at all, but after this test of fire I reckon that ZhouTong will most likely have leveled up in his game & Bitcoinica with him, certainly sounds like it from his posts so far

Wow.. I withdrew 50 coins from bitcoinica.. why is it taking so long to hit the blockchain... ?? been at least 5 hours now... that's the method that didn't work for me all of yesterday & the reason for this thread - I'd recommend taking funds out via Mt.Gox BTC code & keep them under 500 BTC per request, worked fine for me about 24 hrs ago even at the height of the Limode problems being realized publicly

Why bother waking up? It's actually quite easy to create an own bot. Just don't run it on a Linode VPS - better use your own PC at home 1) Every hour fetch the last 100 or so candles from the bitcoincharts: http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/chart.json?m=mtgoxUSD&i=H1&c=1&s=2012-02-202) Calculate EMA(long) and EMA(short) from the recent data: http://www.iexplain.org/ema-how-to-calculate/3) If the lines have just crossed: execute the mtgox or bitcoinica API, according to the changing trend. As simple as that. You can basically do it in one relatively simple script; use php, python, bash, javascript, anything that suits you... I personally prefer Go - it's a great language. Then run the 3 steps every hour (crontab, windows scheduler or whetever) - and you have no need to wake up in a middle of a night. Unless only to check if your bot is doing well... I expect that if you could make this available for non programers then there would be some paying interest demand for it, I'd be interested if it was idiot proof or nearly & not needing a PHD in geekism to set up with different parameters

personally I'd use the US$ to buy cheap BTC on Intersango atm in these present rather exceptional times & if you were lucky enough to get a (panic) seller by placing an attractive bid there, then wait a few days for this to all blow over while you look in to if it's easier to cash out via Mt.Gox or Bitcoinica, both in Asia so maybe helpful for Thailand, then hopefully next week you can then get more $ than by just withdrawing them by wire now, if your friend isn't in a mad rush that is alternatively, once bought, ask Goat or someone in Thailand if they'd like to buy them for a local Thai bank transfer or Bhat cash Edit: atm there's 60 BTC on offer there < $4.67 while Mt.Gox is @ $4.6 & highest Intersango bid is $4.5 so you might pick some up between say $4.55 & $4.65 in fact that's just reminded me when I went to see the price that I had left some GBP balance sitting on Intersango, *places bids*

ha, now the transfer status says pending cancellation, after nearly 8 hours & they aren't even going to process it
still nothing at all from support to tell me wtf is going on, can I use Mt.Gox codes to withdrawal or what...
Just a quick question...have you been asleep to what's been happening against Bitcoinica from Linode? I'm surprised he even bothers to keep it going today of all days. I wasn't aware of it no, marked's post above was the first that I've heard of the issue which I've only read just now apart from one earlier post above by bitcoinBull that mentioned Rackspace hosting & Linode but didn't make clear what the problem was & I didn't do a search on it as by then my transfer problem had been solved & I needed to sleep literally edit: up to date on it all now, well well well Bitcoin wild west show or what, in other news cheap Bitcoin buying op & my apologies to ZT if I was over harsh about the service as I wasn't aware of the larger picture then - wishing you well going forward

$100,000s of client assets & zero customer support - unfuckingbelievable No one is forcing clients to put their money in Bitcoinica. If you don't like their customer service, don't user their service. I don't. Sgt.BleedingObvious, thanks for ur input here really helpful

great, well thanks Bitcoinica for messing me around for 8 hours wtg for client appreciation, after the transaction was arbitrarily cancelled with no notice to me at all & having been pending for 8 hours the pending cancellation part thankfully was swift & I then used the Mt.Gox BTC code withdrawal at 500 BTC a time (which seems to be all that they can cope with without melting down for a day) to send the coins to Gox & then sent them as a normal Bitcoin transfer which Gox managed instantly, now waiting for them to show up in blockexplorer...
edit: I'm verified at both Mt.Gox & Bitcoinica & my transfer from Gox cleared swiftly - still no explanation from Bitcoinica of why they first failed to process my transfer, that they state in their terms takes only minutes, and then why they cancelled it about 8 hours later without my permission or even having the professional courtesy to inform me of this or how I might re-initiate it in a way that they would actually process - quite unbelievable
my friend that I opened a Bitcoinica account for & funded has been waiting days now for any response from their customer service re a perceived 50 BTC discrepancy in her balance
much could have been handled better imo

yer, good luck with that few minutes, try it & it takes for bloody ever & don't expect Bitcoinica to let you know when if ever they may feel like getting around to doing it either yet again Bitcoinickie goes Hotel California's on your Bitcoins perhaps best they get registered in Somalia or which ever failed state is failing most atm $100,000s of client assets & zero customer support - unfuckingbelievable

thanks for the heads up, I'm waiting now over 6 hrs for this transfer I've a good mind to file a Parapain denuncia

Also down for me. Seemed to go down immediately after I submitted a limit order...maybe I caused it I'm sure it was me what caused it put in a largish withdrawal request & it must have given it a seizure, then 4 hours later it's gone tits up, bloody bitcoinickie edit: also had just made a largish US$ deposit with them at the same time, that of course was processed instantly, sure know how to spoil my day

I've been waiting now over 4 hours for a Bitcoin transfer out of Bitcoinica & it's still pending, no response from their support & now the site's down - great! Anyone else getting this?
Plus even when the site was up it's impossible to cancel & try to send by say Mt.Gox code or from somewhere else instead
