over 1 month now & no news on this, Linode hax prob didn't help I guess, any eta Zhou?

a couple of days ago I finally got out of the nightmare scenario of being trapped in a large high $5s base price long position on Bitcoinica which would have been fine as my ZT price was in the $2s originally & I was happy to wait long term & could have kept it at 1:1 leverage np, until that was he unilaterally decided to start taxing long positions with swap charges, to me this is just Bitcoin wild west no rules rule - I'm waiting to see if his stated registration goes through because once it does I intend to claim back that swap money just removed from my account by changing without notice the conditions under which it was deposited & making my position long term untenable so that I had to close it for a big loss as I believe this sort of action is totally illegitimate in any jurisdiction

anyone else who's suffered because of this pse to let me know & we can coordinate to recuperate this blatant rip off with damages also for overall position loss if it hadn't happened once we were locked in

it's so nice atm to finally be out of that & tomorrow off for a long weekend without having to follow every price movement & the feeling of having trusted way too much money to someone who just makes the rules up to suit themselves as they go along, honestly I was amazed to get anything back out at all in that scenario - never again!

LOL.

Guess you are the sockpuppet account of the meelba guy who also wanted to sue Zhou for some odd reason.

nope

So many people want to sue a 17 year old that it really is amazing. You knew the risk when you deposited your money and when you lose it you all decide to complain Huh

I didn't lose it all, far from it, but I lost enough due to swaps being introduced

Good luck to you and see how far you can get in the courts.

BTC is not "real" money by any means today ...

actually the swaps rip off was in US $ as was my margin deposit & he has adult backers & partners

re the other comment about not having protected myself adequately, I was fine long term to leave a large long position that couldn't be force liquidated until the $2s - ie prob never, but when the rules are changed mid game then that screws it up & sure I was well aware of the risk involved in trusting large sums to an unregistered Internet entity - as I said I conciser myself lucky to have got anything back out in this case once it became obvious what was going on

Why are you posting this story in multiple places..?

We get it..  you got ZT'd

I didn't get ZT'd in the sense of a forced liquidation & yep I got ZT'd in the more general being Goxed sense of the phrase (ie being screwed over) & I posted it on his Bitcoinica thread for obvious reasons, I posted it on my thread here re where & when will Bitcoinica become registered as a legal entity if ever & start to abide by some rules because until they do others will suffer the same treatment that I got & so this can be a warning to them & is relevant, finally I posted it on waveaddict's thread where I'm a subscribed premium member as he had previously asked on it if anyone had made good money with Bitcoinica - so losing good money seemed relevant & I was interested in his feedback on what happened if he chooses to give any

yes, I'm sorry to have repeated it but I believe it warranted been posted on those 3 thread for the reasons given, if you don't happen to agree np & please accept my apologies for having bored you

Who else is dancing with the bear?

Yeah dancing the night away here.

not me, I'm waiting this one out & staying on the sidelines, finally got out of the nightmare scenario of being trapped in a large high $5s base price long position on Bitcoinica which would have been fine as my ZT price was in the $2s & I was happy to wait long term & could have kept it at 1:1 leverage np, until that was he unilaterally decided to start taxing long positions with swap charges, to me this is just Bitcoin wild west no rules rule - I'm waiting to see if his stated registration goes through because once it does I intend to claim back that swap money just removed from my account by changing without notice the conditions under which it was deposited & making my position long term untenable so that I had to close it for a big loss as I believe this sort of action is totally illegitimate in any jurisdiction

well it's been over 8 hours now & I haven't heard anything, not that I was expecting to of course & I'm still unable to withdraw my slowly dwindling Net Value balance now at $350.99 or liquidate or do anything at all on my Bitcoinica account & yes a base price of $4,389,544,719,889,099,776 hmmm - a little steep maybe  Undecided

Try this:

Buy 0.03 ฿, and the liquidate again.

Try this:

just restore my $351.70 Net Value so that I can withdraw it & please to remove your crazy false Active Positions on my account, plus fix your coding so that it actually does maths instead of "Active Positions ~ Amount = 9.99200722162641e-16" just what is that FFS! when I have a zero position!

is all the back end coded like this?

over 10 hours now...

& no satisfaction  Angry

tried multiple times on different browsers - doesn't work, says Insufficient Margin & still unable to liquidate this false position or do anything to free up my Net Value for withdrawal

doesn't it all boil down to whether the info that you have on DI in rl is correct or not, he's a scammer so depending on how bright he is then a lot of that info may be just him doing identity theft & dissimulation, if you can establish his rl ID then I'd say he was doomed - a bunch of anons who know that for sure, so that there's no repercussions to them for whatever dastardly revenge they may plot & even execute, but after the fact looks too late to me to be sure of who an online person may be in rl when you're dealing with a con artist & it would be wrong to persecute whoever's ID he may be spoofing if that's the case

in future when lending over $1,500 or whatever it was, insist that the perp (sry - person) gets on Skype to live shows their mug, plus ID like driver's license/passport/ID card for screen shots, utility bill for 'know where you live', bank statement - this should not show -£1,000s btw, proof of work if the loan is to fund an event etc

anyway, horse's (BTC) bolted - live n' learn

I received mine, on Euro time zone it was in on the 2012 03 19 (I'm 21.38 atm on 20th March)

one small query is that my 13th March payment was 0.4167 BTC less than all the others & while it's too little to make a fuss over I can't work out why that may be

edit: re your payment sry I may be being confused, I thought that all go out on the same day but maybe was wrong about that & everyone has different 3 day schedules

Dear Mt.Gox users,

This is a notice to inform you that we have temporally removed our HSBC deposit option from MtGox.com.

 Huh

it's been removed by shifting it in time  Shocked  Gox are getting advanced
2812  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye $4's on: March 20, 2012, 04:01:52 PM
I suspect that at least some of this drop was caused by Mt Gox having bank issues in Hong Kong.

Exactly what kind of issues?

Temporary suspension of HSBC Deposits

Mt.Gox Support
posted this on Mar 13 12:08

Dear Mt.Gox users,

This is a notice to inform you that we have temporally removed our HSBC deposit option from MtGox.com. We have noticed that many recent deposits to this account appear to be fraudulent, so we are being cautious while we investigate.

Althought HSBC deposits are currently suspended, all withdrawals from HSBC are currently routing without disruption. For the time being we invite our international customers to make deposits via our Japanese SMBC account and to avoid sending to our HSBC account.

Finally, we believe that we will be able to resume all deposits to our Hong Kong HSBC account at a maximum of two weeks.

Regards,

The Mt.Gox Team

Otoh's post edit: this same info can also be found on Gox's International wire deposit page

this is what it looks like on a Chrome browser to show it without the liquidation price app

now under Actions the Liquidate button is more visible but it still doesn't work, just goes to an error page & won't let me close this false position that I never had & withdrawal my Net Value of $351.53

2814  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoinica - Advanced Bitcoin Trading Platform on: March 20, 2012, 12:14:27 PM
have just sent this to support, will see how long or if there's a reply:

hi

kindly release my net value on account Richardlogo that is trapped in false maintenance from closed out positions, it's $351.70 thanks

see the forum bitcointalk.org Bitcoinica thread for more details

urgent

thanks

Richard

edit: I have never been able to log on to Bitcoinica support, from the auto response which is all I've ever had or those I know who have also never had requests answered, has anyone ever been able to do this?

"Alternatively, you can keep track of this conversation at http://help.bitcoinica.com/discussions/problems/976-kindly-release-my-funds-as-i-cant-liquidate-due-to-your-site-not-working"
2815  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoinica - Advanced Bitcoin Trading Platform on: March 20, 2012, 12:00:07 PM
this is what my account looks like, it's been impossible to sell it to zero as it's gone completely haywire, I've just taken out all the funds that I could, still leaves $175.44 trapped in maintenance when I have a -1 billion position apparently due to Bitcoinica's code not being able to do maths, can't press liquidate either because the Account setting button field is on top of it - haven't bothered to contact support because there never is any response

edit: or as it's refusing to let go of maintenance on a closed out position then it's keeping back twice that locked in $351.70 - open request to Zhou to release this today & explain what's going on
2816  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Open Ended Investment Opportunity on: March 19, 2012, 10:33:10 PM
Just a quick query..  I have more opportunities and could use additional capital.  What would motivate a person to invest or if already invested, to invest more?  Would a flat rate be the better route?
That and make it more aware you have availability over Skype. I always end up going through INAU because I know I'll be able to push a deposit out to him for arb within the tight time constraints I have to make a 30D loan off a 32D deposit.

Noted. What else?

A web site that shows by date investor's BTC in, interest paid & rate, current balance or at the very least fortnightly updates on this otherwise it just feel like you've put x BTC in to a black hole with no feedback of what's going on with your funds, peeps like to see the growth with regular updates in order for them to be confident that it's still all ticking over nicely

& yep, a fixed rate from day one, with if you need - then a min deposit & commitment time, would be simpler & for me more appealing

edit: or banded interest rates

< 100 BTC = x% per week
< 250 BTC = y% per week
< 500 BTC = z% per week
> 1,000 BTC = 10% per week   Tongue Wink

phpbb is very unsafe forum platform

ah OK, but unsafe in what way? it prob doesn't need to be totally hax proof for 2.5 BTC per month - just looking for an easy to set up forum or continuously open chat place that stored all input where WA's subscribers & himself could interact, suggestions most welcome
2818  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Matthew's recent raffle for a BFL Bit Force Single on: March 19, 2012, 09:48:23 PM
as he's locked his post, I opened this thread re how the future raffles he proposes (& those by others) could be seen to be more open/fairer, no criticism intended, for me the only way for raffles to be seen to be fair would be if operated like Bitlotto where your entry is also your ticket, the blockchain winner choosing part is fine, then the publicly seen winner gets the raffle prize plus all BTC that were bet for more than it's value less a predetermined organizer's commission on those or on the total that was bet - say 10% (in Bitlotto's case it's a very reasonable 1% of all funds staked)

this is because as others have already pointed out, if the total bet isn't all or almost the same as that given back in prizes then it costs the organizer nothing to put in fake bets to himself that stack the odds in his favor at no cost to him, if he has to return say 90% of those sock puppet bets then it's far less attractive a temptation & he would need to add bets excessively to have a good chance not to lose which would be fairly obvious to those participating

feedback on how this could be made more watertight appreciated, also should raffles best go in the Marketplace or in Gambling?

either way, congrats to the BFL Single winner (please post here when you've received it) & I'm looking forward to the next one ~ like a $15k mini rig maybe  Tongue

re chatroom I was looking at this free forum providers earlier today http://www.phpbb.com

with a view to adding it to my WA site, but it's taking me a while to work out how it all works, maybe I should ask chsados to give me a hand setting it up, also am off for a long W/E in a couple of days so not sure if can get it done by then
2820  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's called a correction (waveaddict's bitcoin charting subscription thread) on: March 19, 2012, 08:23:31 PM
There is nothing here to investigate. Someone bought 35k BTC last week and bumped false-rally signal. Panic buyers followed. Then, he saw there is no rally and sold them back. Panic sellers followed.

We are at pre-"rally" point now.

Just a hazy feeling - but it is already a few weeks that I started to suspect that someone is looking for triangles and if one happens he buys to break the resistance and create a really.  I don't know what he was doing after that, slowly selling or maybe genuinely waiting for the 'next leg up'.

like https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=68120.msg794135#msg794135 maybe  Cheesy
