341  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bons Telegram | 5000$ Prize Pool Tournament for Bitcointalkers Exclusively on: February 20, 2024, 09:21:10 AM
Welcome to Bitcointalk as a new Casino platform.

I visit the site bons.io the user interface of this site is very beautiful and unique. but what I noticed is that the site is still very slow. a casino site must be fast in browsing. otherwise gamblers may lose confidence from here. And of course this company should do a good marketing for themselves so that they can reach the gamblers. In this case they can also run signature campaigns. Because this forum has many members who gamble a lot.
Thank you so much for your feedback.

I will definitely bring this information to the attention of our technical team.
We are constantly working on improving our platform and thanks to this information we are getting better every day.
You can also use our Telegram bot @Bons for more convenience and leave feedback on its work. Have a nice day
Is it bons.io or bons18.com? Or both of them? To be fair, it's not super simple to use your Telegram service because when I type bons in Telegram, there are many variations and I have to click on show all and then I have to search through them. Also, when I found bons bot and wanted to start playing, it opened a new browser window and I got this message: bons.com refused to connect. I used VPN and that was from PC, via telegram web.

Now I try to do it via my smartphone without using a VPN. When I click on play now, I get cloudflare verification, I click on verify you are human but it comes up endlessly over and over again and I can't start playing.
342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 20, 2024, 08:44:16 AM
I don't watch UFC and this is the first time I posted in this thread but what happened on February 17, 2024, was phenomenal. Merab Dvalishvili and Ilia Topuria, both of them Georgians, from my country, won the fight. Topuria became the first Georgian to become the champion of UFC and I believe that Merab Dvalishvili will become the second Georgian who will also become the UFC Champion.
This is simply amazing, both fighters made Georgians very proud. Not only did they win the fight and make the country more popular but many people made a bet on them and got good money in return.
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too advanced to get into Bitcoin now? on: February 20, 2024, 08:21:07 AM
My first investment in Bitcoin was when the price was about $2,000 to $4,000, and many thought the price was exaggerated. Today, we are trading at $50,000, and at the present time many expect the price to reach $100,000 before the end of this year or the middle of next year, so In terms of price, if your goal is a long-term investment, you are not late, but what is more important is that you learn the basics of trading and how to protect your cryptocurrencies.
I invested when the price was about $400 to $600 and there were people who were saying that the price would reach 10 000$, 20 000$ and even more but everyone was calling them crazy but they were true.

Is it now the best time to invest in Bitcoin? It depends on how much profit you expect. It was definitely better to invest when the price was 30K but it's not late or wrong to invest today because bitcoin will reach and surpass its all-time high. From 52K to 70K, you'll see some profit, so it's not late. Btw keep in mind that Bitcoin will definitely reach not only all-time high but will surpass it and reach 100K.
344  Economy / Economics / Re: Is increase in minimum wage a good method to fight inflation? on: February 18, 2024, 09:44:15 PM
When there is inflation, an increase in the minimum wage is necessary to ease the pain of inflation on people. Btw the inflation rate that the government sets is not a good indicator because sometimes they say that inflation is 10% but actually in real life, product and service prices go up by more than 20%. Since many companies pay a minimum official wage to their employees, it's good if governments increase the minimum wage because an increase can help millions of people overcome financial difficulties. For example, while inflation is 20%, 10% increase in minimum wage can make it look like inflation is 10%.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first time utilizing the Bitcoin ATM…. on: February 18, 2024, 05:58:26 PM
How does it feel when you first make your first transaction on the Bitcoin AMT machine,
Well, I guess for most of us it has been a daily rationale for you guys well

Why I was this happy because, in my regional society, there is no such thing as Bitcoin ATMs.
Most people in my society don't have a better knowledge of Bitcoin, so I could not see the machine or have a better knowledge about it but I still memorized some techniques on how it  Also with the help of this forum I got to learn about it and how to make transactions and also to deposit
To be fair, Bitcoin ATMs have very high fees. Probably only Bitcoin enthusiasts will sometimes use ATMs, those who want to just test it for the sake of Bitcoin. It's not for regular users because there is a huge difference between preev.com's rate and ATMs rate. Btw can you share the rates with us? Also, as far as I know, Bitcoin ATMs can ask you for ID verification.

The fees though have been horrendous. At the first ATM I used in Taipei the fee was like 15-18% for buying, and similar for selling.
And 1 time I sold a little bit of btc for around 400$, which was around 12000NT$ local currency. For some reason the ATM was out of "big bills", 1000NT$ is the biggest common bill, so it gave me 120 100NT$ bills. That was quite stressful and took a long time cause the bills came out one by one.

Lucky I later found a much better ATM which had better fees, but still around 10%  Roll Eyes . And for some reason all ATMs stopped buying btc and just sold (as well as other currencies), that was quite annoying.

Many Bitcoin ATM providers probably depend on Bitcoin enthusiasts and want to make money from them because their fees are very high. They are doing bad for Bitcoin adoption, my friend had an ATM in his restaurant and almost no one was buying or selling coins because fees were up to 16%.
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you beleive in the concept of "Luck"? on: February 17, 2024, 10:58:44 AM
If you are a gambler, do not believe in luck, although it is possible. You can accumulate many matches and be lucky though, but some people will continue to use the amount of money they can not afford to lose to gamble and be thinking about luck. As my experience in gambling, luck is possible but most people are not just lucky to win than lose.
No, luck exists. It's luck when you beat the casino with RTP and house edge. To my mind, one of the worst decisions of gamblers and one of the reasons too why they lose is that they try to build a strategy to beat the house.

Guys, have you noticed that first-time gamblers usually win a lot? Have you ever thought why does that happen? To my mind, that happens because they don't know the game and can't build a strategy to beat the game. They try with pure luck, that's why the first-time gamblers win. Only luck can beat the house, not strategy because there is a math behind every casino game, you can't beat the numbers via strategy, you can only beat them via pure luck.
347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP telling people how much Bitcoin you have on: February 17, 2024, 09:46:25 AM
I just wanted to share a piece of advice that I learned early on from Andreas Antonopoulos (if you don't know whom this is, I highly recommend looking up his YouTube page and watching his videos and or reading his book Mastering Bitcoin) never tell anyone how much bitcoin you have.  Andreas use to say it's not our job to teach everyone we know about bitcoin, letting them know we own some "Let that be my job" he would say.

I see so many people that come around here sharing how much bitcoin they own...don't.  Just like any of your finances such as your portfolio or how much your annual salary is..it's no one's business but your own.  Being transparent about these things can be harmful to you in a multitude of ways.  As an advisor this is something I tell my clients all the time.  Your financial info is private and should always remain that way.  I hate these new social media trends where people walk up to strangers on the street and ask things like "how much do you pay in rent" or "how much money do you make a year"...ignore them!
Blockchain is an open book and if you use one address to receive payments, especially a vanity address, it's becoming hard to hide the number of bitcoins that you own or at least you owned. Btw it's not a good idea to speak the number of your coins in public but some people try to flex and say that they own some of them. I think that flexing is more dangerous. By the way, if you own 2, 3 and more bitcoins and are rich, you can't hide it or if you try to hide, then I don't understand what's the point of such wealth.
Btw I agree with you on the educational part, it's not necessary to enlighten everyone about Bitcoin. I have tried to do that and their response most of the time was that it's a scam, a pyramid and it will fall soon, they were saying that Bitcoin is used for illegal activities and etc. There is no point in arguing with these people, they will always close their eye on what's true with Bitcoin, they believe in lies that government tells them.
348  Economy / Economics / Re: saving vs investing - minimalism vs frugality on: February 17, 2024, 09:01:37 AM
yes choices are narrower. but by pre-planning, even that can stretch the money, food to last a few days longer than expected
this is where people then have to get creative about increasing income

and yes increasing income is a different debate which is another category.. separate from the minimalist vs frugal planning concept
when you live in an area where there are buses, where there are shops that sell shoes/clothes. there are opportunities.
heck when you speak with friends and family and speak of the things they wish they could have, even that can be an opportunity. but thats for another category of discussion

Yes, some savings are still possible for those who are on a tight budget but saving some bucks every month will not lead to any fortune today. I think that the only solution for those people or families who struggle is to make some savings and instead of collecting bitcoins, they should buy a one-way ticket and fly to Europe. I grew up in a time when that was the only solution for people to survive.
Btw in modern times, the situation is not that difficult. If any family or person wants to improve life, informational technologies, especially programming and UI/UX design, give them the possibility to find a high-paying job online, which will give them the possibility to choose between a minimalist and frugal lifestyle. Once they find a high-paying job, then they should follow your advice to achieve great financial success. Just my two satoshis.
349  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security might not be a priority for younger generations. (2) on: February 17, 2024, 08:23:59 AM
*Reposting this topic from my post in other forum.

There is a huge possibility of younger or new generations adopting cryptocurrency investments compared to them getting interests on farming and food related sectors. What do you think? Does it have a good or bad effects on our economy?
There are fewer people in agriculture because parents push their sons and daughters to enter university, study medicine, engineering, law, informational technologies and move to cities for a higher quality of life. At the same time, in developed countries it is getting expensive to buy land and start farming, some people don't have any other choice.
The young generation tries to adopt cryptocurrencies and invest in it because it is an innovation and innovations always pay well. When this market will become saturated, people will be forced to find a different niche. We also have to keep in mind that the science of agriculture is improving and it's getting easier to farm and have a good harvest with less involvement of mankind.
350  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK SHADY/SCAMMY BEHAVIOUR. WATCH OUT GUYS on: February 17, 2024, 07:57:44 AM
Their terms of service give them the ability to request KYC from any user at any time in order to identify and verify the end user, also in order to mitigate the risks of money laundering and terrorism financing.
If they wanted to identify you, then they should have asked for KYC documents before they would give you a free no-deposit bonus. Since they asked you to submit KYC after you deposited money, I have a bad feeling that KYC is an excuse not to pay you. Many casinos use KC as an excuse to not pay their users, they rarely care about illegal activities.
351  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: February 16, 2024, 07:22:39 PM

By the way, Meatwin recently acquired two domains, hit.eth and one super premium domain - hit.com <-- I don't know what's the plan but this domain hits different, like stake.

This is also the first time I see slots with higher than 99% RTP. Has anyone played them?
352  Economy / Economics / Re: saving vs investing - minimalism vs frugality on: February 15, 2024, 11:38:19 AM
I like your advice, it explains everything in detail with its pros and cons about why we should save some part of our money and why should we invest another part. I completely agree with you on that part but in the last part, you touch lifestyle and I want to remind you that it doesn't apply to individuals that struggle.

minimalism vs frugality
alot of people think to save/invest requires being super frugal, live under a rock like a hermit and never spend. this is not the case
instead develop a minimalist lifestyle.
decide what actually important to your life. what things serve a purpose/function, gives lasting memories.. and spend wisely.
do you need all the clutter of dozens of branded shoes, clothing, household luxuries/decorations.
or can you find the minimalist unbranded options that serve a regular function to only need a couple items

develop it further. do you really need the lavish new luxury car, or just a minimal model that gets you from A to B
do you really need to pay premium transport, carry 5 luggage bags charging extra at airport, containing every item of clothing and gadget your house had. and then sitting in first class on a plane... or can you just put a weeks worth of underwear and shirts/pants into one bag and sit in economy.

frugality of hermit crab living can be a short term aid. but at somepoint going super frugal fails itself because living on "survival" mode too long is a mental break that cant last. the stress of surviving and not living will become its own downfall which usually ends up with people splurging in excess to get that feel good feeling to regain sanity.
so instead be wise about your spending. note wasteful. make purposeful decisions on things that make your life have good long term feelings/memories. and cut out on the wasteful stuff you usually dont care about a week after purchase
When you are from a poor country and try to save some money, you simply have to eat cheap food like rice, buckwheat, bread, potato, pasta, use low-quality oil, etc... You simply have to sacrifice your health for a while which you'll have to pay later. When you are poor, not only luxury cars but even cars don't exist and to save some money, you have to use the bus less, go out less, buy second-hand clothes. When you live in a poor country, you already have to buy shoes that will last you for centuries. So, for people from poor countries, to save some money, you have to be super frugal, live under a rock like you described.
If someone is capable of affording what you described, then that person is rich and probably doesn't really need to save something, that is the lifestyle that poor people want to achieve.
353  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is it possible to convert WIF to seed phrases (BIP39)? on: February 15, 2024, 10:40:58 AM
Btw it's okay for me to generate a new vanity address if there is a program like vanitygen or vanitysearch that will generate results in seeds instead of WIF keys.
If there is enough demand for such a tool (considering how I keep seeing topics like this pop up), it could be created very easily.
I don't think there is or will ever be enough demand to motivate someone to create such a tool, it will stay on a hobby level. Can you create such a tool by the way?

Other than that, just generate a vanity key then convert that WIF to a mnemonic (256-bit entropy to 24 words) to make it easier to write it down.
When I google, I only see mnemonic to WIF converters, not WIF to mnemonic.

I checked threads that you guys linked here.  As far as I understand, it's possible to convert WIF to mnemonic but it's impossible to import them in Electrum or other wallet but why? If it's not possible, then there is no point in converting WIF to mnemonic as I understand.

-snip- but I want to back up and safely store them on paper as seed phrases instead of long and ugly WIF key format.
Isn't WIF already in "easy to copy, easy to write" format with confusing characters omitted since it's in BASE58;
And it's not long either; the common 12-word seed phrase is even longer than it even with the spaces removed.
It's not as long but there is a very unusual combination of big and small characters and numbers. Words, while being longer, are still a better choice to my mind.
354  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which are best stake alternatives on: February 15, 2024, 09:40:21 AM
From me personally Stake is just so good and has set the standards so high that it's quite hard to suggest anyone an alternative site. Although I did come across dual bits's new fantasy game mode which is great and only available on that site.
Stake is good but it's not great enough to make it hard to suggest other casinos to the OP, especially when he is looking for original games.
My favourite crypto casinos with original games are:

1. Bitsler.com - They have many original games with very nice UI and good house edge, including Dice, Twist, Keno, Boom, Ulitmate Poker, Plinko, Fruitsler, Mines, BlackJack, Roulette, Blast (bustabit), Crypto Thugs, Baccarat, Video Poker, Chests, Flash Roulette, Hi-Lo, Dicey 7's, Cara Y Cruz, Multi Color.

2. BC.Game - Crash (bustabit), Limbo, Classic Dice, Plinko, Hash Dice, Keno, Ultimate Dice, Wheel, Twist, Cave Of Plunder, Mine, Tower Legend, Coinflip, Hi-Lo, Roulette, Ring of Fortune, Video Poker, Oriental Beauties, Saviour Sword, Fast Parity, Baccarat, BlackJack, Deadliest Sea, Double, Roulette Multiplayer, Keno Multiplayer, Baccarat Multiplayer and some private Live Blackjack tables.

3. Crypto.Games - This website only contains their original games. Their visual side is not very entertaining but if I were you, I would check them out.

I would also check Rollbit and Duelbits. There aren't many other casinos that come to my mind right now.
355  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? on: February 15, 2024, 08:45:50 AM
I wonder why some traders are still experiencing losses in their crypto trading upon all the impart professional traders are imparting  traders in some trading section to ensure traders know when to trade to win and when not to trade to avoid losses. Can you make everybody to win in their crypto trading? I asked this question based on what I heard from some traders that traded their coins early this year, hoping that the price will still return back to low price before they can buy and hodl for the real bull run to occur but this morning price made such traders to lose and, it made me to understand that there is no way you can help everybody to win in their crypto trading because, there are some traders who will be thinking that you are teaching them wrong thing until they experience profits or loss before they will appreciate what you did.

Even crypto trading experts cannot make everybody to win or earn big profits from their crypto trading at the same time because, for some traders to wait till the real bull to show up in the market, it will make them to feel they are about to miss the opportunity and it can lead them to loose no matter what you do to help such trader.
When you make money, that happens because somebody else loses, we can't have two winners, there is only one winner and the reason why there is only one winner is that there is a loser too as well as there is a loser because there is a winner.
I'll explain to you why everybody can't win in crypto trading. When you buy a coin at 30K, that means that someone got rid of it instead of holding it. When you wait and sell your coins for 50K, that means that someone started holding at 50K, then the price falls, and the ones who bought at 50K wait for a while, price falls down at 40K, 30K, they sell because of panic, then the circle starts over again. That's how trading works Smiley
356  Economy / Gambling / Re: I've Made Millions abusing Exploit in a Crypto Casino - AMA on: February 14, 2024, 10:05:04 PM
Regardless of what happens or become of the casinos, it wrong for a gambler to abuse the casino and any of such act is regarded as stealing from the casino, so you cant expect us to welcome such act or accept this kind of service at any point in time, bug abuse is one of the things that casinos doesn't take with levity and for that we have to avoid using such problems against them.

So the best thing to do is to report such incidents once we discover them on the casinos, and may be regardless of whatever it depends so much on the individual whether they can abuse the casino or not.

The casinos are abusing its players 24/7, if you believe that they are the good guys then you are really wrong. They are dirt-bags that will use illegal ways to get money out of your pocket. I didn't do anything as bad as what they are doing to their own customers.
I don't think every casino abuses its players 24/7 because there are some of them, at least in my country, that fund the visit of psychology for addicted players and casino has many forms of restrictions that they can enforce if you have addiction problems.
Casinos have a house edge that guarantees them profit, why do they have to use illegal ways to get money out of you? They still profit from fair play and fair rules.

What is your opinion about live casinos? e.g. Evolution gaming? I'm very curious to hear your opinion because I have experience working there. Some people say games are rigged, some say they are not, but I know the truth. Waiting for your response to reveal my answer and what happens there, whether it is a fair play or not.
357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, 50k Done on: February 14, 2024, 12:20:04 PM
Finally Bitcoin 50k Done. This is very good news for us. This is very happy news especially for Bitcoin holders. Since bitcoin is at 50k, I think now people who are not bitcoin holders, or who have never invested in bitcoin, are now addicted to bitcoin and those who stopped holding because of fear of falling bitcoin price will now hold long term in bitcoin, because I think, for the price of bitcoin is now 50k, for this has created faith in bitcoin in the minds of those failed holders. And they will definitely hold bitcoin long-term later.

What is your view on this matter?
And please correct me if I am wrong in any way.
People never learn from their mistakes. I registered on this forum in 2016 and I remember when some people were posting that Bitcoin would reach 10K and 20K in 2017, they were treated with laugh and many were even calling them spammers and stupids. Today we see Bitcoin reaching and surpassing 50K USD. I think this year will be the first year when we will reach a new all-time high before halving happens. 72 days have left, bitcoin gained so much in the past 72 days that I am confident, this year will be different from previous ones.
358  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the world soon become tired of the US dollar? on: February 14, 2024, 10:13:35 AM
Vietnam for example can undercut China production cost apparently, though cost is only one factor.  China has a falling working population which naturally forces up costs, India has great growth for some time in the future but the ability to harness that potential is an open question still.   Its never straightforward.
Vietnam can undercut China's production cost but Vietnam doesn't have as much experience in production as China has. Besides costs, we have to consider that factories are already built in China which is another investment and will Vietnamese workers be able to work as fast as Chinese workers do? Companies will have to invest money to improve the skills of Vietnamese workers. China has an advantage over other countries that will be hard to take from them.

One simple question - why would normal countries move away from a stable and secured dollar that is guaranteed to be accepted by the whole world for payment ?
Because they don't want to be under the influence of America. It's a huge mechanism of control. Tell me a single reason why dollar, a paper is better than gold standard?
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Updates from the COPA v Craig Wright trial on: February 14, 2024, 09:42:51 AM
Craig's defence seemed to consist of just letting the court know about Craig's autism and previous suicide attempt due to the stress of trying and failing to prove he's Satoshi.
Why does his autism or failed attempt at suicide matter in this case? Craig is not kind and the judge is not a parent of the kid who buys candies for a kid to stop crying. He has a mental illness and that's called Self-Deception, he needs the help of doctors and psychologists.

Btw I think that we are already seeing the start of massive Bitcoin adoption, even BlackRock got involved in it recently, so I don't think they'll let him play like this. This mascarade should end soon, no one is going to confirm him as the Satoshi Nakamoto since he can't provide evidences, he will never provide what doesn't exist, no matter how much time will pass.

360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do cryptocurrency increase the standard of living on: February 13, 2024, 11:41:11 AM
Knowing fully well that there is so many uneducated people around the world, how can cryptocurrency increase the standard of living
Who said that cryptocurrencies increase the standard of living? Cryptocurrency is the result of an increased standard of living. Btw cryptocurrency is helping El Salvador economically at some point because cryptocurrencies are completely legal in El Salvador and it creates new jobs, attracts investment and some digital nomads move there but this country still has a lot to do because there is a very high violence and crime rate. Anyways, you need educated people to work in crypto companies, which means that the standard of living can't be increased without education, bitcoin is not magic, don't fall for fairy tales.
