341  Economy / Reputation / Re: Suspicious Signature campaign Hex.com on: November 01, 2020, 07:19:36 PM
"I don't care lol" - owner of Hex.com

I guess you can count unprofessionalism from a concern of them being a scam for their investment as really being a scam.  I mean if this owner/founder doesn't care about them being called as a scam from another user then I think they themselves accept that what they are doing is not real and they don't care about what other people think as long as they benefit from what other people are doing which in this case a user is trying to promote his/her referral link.
342  Other / Meta / Re: Temporary Ban Request on: November 01, 2020, 06:09:19 PM
Aside from posting this thread have you tried confronting this guya that what he is doing is not allowed in the forum? Some issues might actually be solve here if you just talk to him and say that what he is doing is not allowed and maybe he will stop if he didn't stop then that is when you can ask the mods and the admins to ban him for post bursting.
343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin cross $15k in end of 2020 on: October 28, 2020, 03:42:35 PM
What you are just saying is pure speculation as the news about Paypal won't really affect the demand for Bitcoin that much. I also said recently in another post that Bitcoin is increasing in terms of price but if you look at the volume of it you will see that is is decreasing meaning that we aren't really that bullish. With the current conditions Bitcoin has I even doubt that we will be holding 13,000$ since we don't really have a strong base.
344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Even if you buy a hardware device from an authorised reseller, you need to check on: October 28, 2020, 02:50:45 PM
There is also an attack called the Evil Maid attack where someone can put a malware onto a device which is something that can be done on hardware wallets especially Ledger since they don't have a tamper proof stick of some kind in their boxes so you would really have to rely on their security features if it can really outsmart any malware being tried to install on these devices. So its really a gamble when buying these devices online maybe buying it directly to their website is a smart choice if you really want it to be directly coming from the manufacturers itself.
345  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC issued $5 million penalty to KIK Interactive For Unregistered Offering on: October 28, 2020, 01:30:40 PM
@Harlot - you have a point, I don't know if Howey's test is applicable to crypto and that SEC should be very clear about it.

Howey test is pretty straightforward really since there is 4 questions needed to passed by a certain asset in order to be labelled as an investment or a security.

1.It is an investment of money
2.There is an expectation of profits from the investment
3.The investment of money is in a common enterprise
4.Any profit comes from the efforts of a promoter or third party

If a crypto asset will simply pass this test then they will be labelled as a security rather than a utility token which the only purpose of it is just really as a payment method and nothing more than that. They have used the Howey Test for a certain time now especially about the categorization of digital assets as the confusion is prevalent in that area.
346  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: October 28, 2020, 12:46:00 PM
Like from what I have said in the past firms jumping in the Bitcoin train is a double-edged sword, for one it can really attract a lot of attention for other people to follow and invest in Bitcoin as well as it will give Bitcoin a recognition to the investing community the downside of this is of course a company this big which as of now has 250 million dollars in Bitcoin and is reportedly still buying is considered to be a whale and a capital this big can bring the market down once they hit the sell button. Remember that they have this as an alternative for their cash reserve and cash reserves are meant to be liquidated so anytime the company sees it fit they can always sell all of it at once.
347  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10-26]First Mover: Bitcoin Steady Over $13K as JPMorgan Has Eureka! Moment on: October 28, 2020, 12:15:25 PM
JPMorgan has been saying no new negative comments against the crypto industry every since they created their own cryptocurrency and this just shows you that everything big companies and influential people are doing always comes with a motive that is why they are doing this. However I believe their plans for the crypto industry doesn't stop with them creating their own crypto, since they are in the financial industry I expect them to be more involve in special kinds of crypto investments such as ETFs or maybe derivatives, this might just be a waiting game for them as they are just trying to make us forget that they have bad views with Bitcoin in the first place.
348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Constructive Financial Advice Needed on: October 28, 2020, 11:37:54 AM
Do not worry too much friend. I got my first proper job only at 27 after many years doing so many different jobs including waiting and call center for many years. My advice is to work hard, and save money. Do not get enticed by easy get rich fast things.

OP doesn't see Bitcoin as a get rich type of scheme but rather a safe way to earn a few hundred bucks just by trading it during its volatility which he is correct about that. But the bad thing about this strategy is he is looking at it as a main income option which I highly discourage because if one or two trades goes wrong then his capital will be screwed and he might not expect any kind of income. That's why I'm suggesting to him that he would rather use Bitcoin trading as a form of investment rather than making it his main income, since he is good in photography I think it would be easy for him to find a freelance job on any freelancing website. The key here is having a stable revenue stream for him to add capital more and more in his trading.
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 28, 2020, 10:56:45 AM
It's a huge amount of money that an NBA player would want, Davis gets the championship at get's the biggest salary in the NBA, there's no reason to leave if Indeed the Lakers will offer him that amount, he even has a bigger salary than the king.

I'm sure Lebron doesn't mind that, as long as he and Davis will be healthy in the next 4 years and bring more championship to the Lakers, he will be down with that. And AD with his first ring experience, will definitely love to stay with the Lakers. The management seems to fit the puzzle together specially when he joined and continue the tradition of Lakers winning again.

The question is will Lakers be really interested in signing Anthony Davis on his desired contract especially with the news coming in that the Salary Cap might even decrease for the next season. If this happened and Davis don't want to sacrifice money in order to win more championship I doubt the Lakers would be able to afford him. Him wanting a bigger contract and the Lakers signing them will mean that they would have less wiggle room in signing other role players to be able to make another championship team. If they want to make more championships Davis should not be looking for another max contract.
350  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit.com blocked my withdrawals ( not old accusation ) on: October 28, 2020, 09:46:30 AM
From 1xbit's bad history I can say that you are just one of many users who got their money being withholden by 1xbit after they won a few bets, these cases are of course with no progress and filled up with the same old response 1xbit is giving you now. I'm telling you honestly there is a slim chance that you will get your money back judging from previous cases where until now is still not solved. Just look at their trust summary and you will see threads linking to other threads of several users being scammed by 1xbit.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Terror Attack Related With Bitcoin - INDIA on: October 28, 2020, 08:04:08 AM
It would be stupid on the Indian government's part if they did an action against Bitcoin and not the criminals themselves, if they made this the reason of their plans to ban cryptocurrency they would look like a dumb government. If you ask anyone if Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies will disappear will this make all the crimes that is happening now will also disappear? Of course not crimes existed before and will still exist now with or without cryptocurrencies, banning the mode of payment won't mean a thing to them as they will have other ways of getting the money.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Binance in a risk of being shut down? on: October 28, 2020, 06:43:36 AM
Will we really believe what Coingeek is saying that Binance is involve in a big crime like this just because BitMex got caught? I'm not saving Binance's ass here but we can't just believe what articles popping out here and there as they will always create this kind of articles just so they can create a buzz and give them more views/visits for their website. If we won't be seeing news or statements coming from any government authority linking them to any crime I think we should calm down for a bit and don't assume anything just because we see crypto news websites linking them.
353  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happened to the user @gunungkembar. on: October 28, 2020, 04:57:07 AM
He didn't really replied anything after several people pointed out his mistake of thinking that having the same BNB address is the same will make them be owned by 1 person. I guess he didn't really have any other evidence to dispute this case or disprove what others have been said so that is why he deleted his post and didn't pursue anything else.
354  Other / Meta / Re: Ban appeal on: October 27, 2020, 10:11:23 PM
I just didn't know, sorry. Can I get awards for the company? I did everything honestly about the companies.

You don't even have the right to be here in the forum and you are out here asking for a payment to the campaign manager? It doesn't work that way it's like you are asking from a company a payment/salary of some kind for working for them even though you aren't their employee. Right now if yoy want to cotinue using this website freely with an account you need to set up your ban appeal in a way you show your contributions to the forum but judging that you are here only for the bounty it makes your chances of lifting the ban slim as you really don't contribute to anything.
355  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis of recent Bitcoin fluctuations on: October 27, 2020, 08:49:41 PM
The recent pumps Bitcoin is having IMO is a scary thing to see because of it lacking the volume needed to show that Bitcoin is indeed in a bullish run. If you look at the charts you will see that Bitcoin is going up but the volume of it isn't really improving and it is even decreasing, you can easily translate this too people who are whales are just pumping Bitcoin without any kind of follow up demand from regular traders. We might just be seeing a heavy kind of manipulation and the worst is a big drop might be inevitable.
356  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be aware : Mixum [fake copy of Mixtum mixer] on: October 27, 2020, 07:51:01 PM
2. Report to the domain service provider.

This way both the search engine and the domain service provider takes the site down and the next guy do not fall for the scam site.

Will option 2 work though? I haven't tried this one personally but we have seen hundreds of scam websites being hosted by namecheap so I wonder if this will have any kind of affect if you report it directly to them? Because I have seen a lot of scam websites even though if they have been reported as a scam or has been known as a scam for a long time now their websites are still active and has not been shutdown yet.
357  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: USA offers $ 625,000 to track Bitcoin Monero and Lightning users on: October 27, 2020, 04:21:35 PM
I have a feeling that anymore additional steps from these Monero developers and we might see some kind of special ban against Monero in the USA. I remember that South Korea and Japan did the same thing years ago on requesting exchanges to remove Anonymity based cryptocurrencies in their platform which they did. Yes Monero will still be available in other ways but the thing is if if users have been found holding Monero they might go in jail because of it so really Monero might just be digging their own graves if they did further steps.
Well, in vain they did it. Any cryptocurrency is safe as long as it does not interfere with centralized services that require the KYC procedure.
Now all exchanges are working with special services, and they have removed their informants.
The only way is to create your own mining pool with the highest hash rate, or to control large pools, then you can access the information and decrypt the data.

This might be true since all steps I have seen for limiting the availability and use of anonimity focused cryptocurrencies are all in a phase of banning them in crypto exchanges but the thing is the government will always have a chance to go into drastic measures when a certain situation happens, what I mean about that is when criminals starts to shift more and more on these privacy coins I think the government will not just be paying any devs to track them anymore but just create a law banning them.
358  Economy / Economics / Re: First Bitcoin Mixer Penalized by FinCEN for Violating Anti-Money Laundering Laws on: October 27, 2020, 03:43:31 PM
The thing about Harmon's Helix mixer is he introduced it as some form of anonymizing payments for criminals to take advantage to which make his service in itself as a form or accessory for the crime being committed, this thing alone will just make them guilty of a crime. For normal mixers who just promotes their mixing service as a way to protect your privacy is something that won't alarm anyone, yes it still might be used by some criminals but it doesn't raise any flags as they aren't really directly connected to any kind of crime. So mixers as a whole might not be affected here.
359  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10-21] Breaking: PayPal Goes Bitcoin, Ethereum And More on: October 27, 2020, 02:20:54 PM
Paypal....LULZ

I don't even trust them with cash, let alone BTC.

Yeah I know there is a bad history with Paypal and Bitcoin for a long time now including Bitcoin purchases made through Paypal and how they actually don't entertain anyone asking for a refund but I think we need give them a second chance as from what it looks like they might have a change of heart especially when you think about them adding these cryptocurrencies on their Venmo service which is one of the popular payment methods right now for the younger generations. Yes there will be issues here and then but I think the pros will weigh out the cons here when we are talking about another step towards mass adoption.
360  Other / Archival / Re: Deribit injects KYC on: October 27, 2020, 01:31:37 PM
It might be discouraging for a lot of people in the crypto industry but to be honest this is inevitable to happen ever since crypto assets are mostly viewed as securities/investments. For people who are into investing but got into the crypto industry first they might think that KYC is something that violates their privacy and the government is spying on them or something but the truth is KYC has long been existing in other markets such the stock market and the forex market, just find a stock broker right now who will let you open an account without a KYC and I'll be shock as you. People should start moving on thinking that crypto is some kind of anonymous way of sending money because the days of that will be long gone now.
