1301  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Corona Virus Crypto Ransomware on: March 14, 2020, 03:33:03 PM
You missed one of the important things in the news and that is the Coronavirus Ransomware itself is just a smoke screen for the malware they are trying to put into your system. Forbes already clarified it with their article that the ransomware itself is not the main objective by the hack but the malware it will try to download in your system. I didn't new this at first but I really wondered why a ransomware virus is just asking for 50$ so this maybe is the reason why because they really want to steal your private and personal information not the money they are asking.
1302  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinBangladesh.org a local bitcoin forum for Bangla speaking community on: March 13, 2020, 09:14:22 PM
I just visited your website and after around 2.5 weeks since you posted this thread I don't see any activity at all, this might be because you have just limited your market to the Bangladeshi people which you have admitted that Bitcoin isn't really popular in your country. Aside from that most topics are left without any content and there is really no conversation happening. With the use of translate to English function in Chrome you will see that instead of members talking to each other they are just posting what they want about the topic without anyone replying to what they have said. It might be the lack of activity or people are just new with the concept of a forum so maybe the mods in your forum should be the ones engaging in a conversation and should be active since the site looks pretty dead to me.
1303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Jimmy Song 100,000$ Prediction on: March 11, 2020, 06:03:36 PM
When BTC reached certain price points like 1,000$, 5,000$, 10,000$, and to it's all time high which is 19,000$ a lot of people are already saying that they have wasted a lot of opportunities to be rich. Yet even if these price points presented themselves they are either still not attracted to it or late to the action, the worst part is after they enter as a newbie they automatically will experience losses since they aren't prepared for the market. I know people like Jimmy Song with extreme positivity towards Bitcoin you will see opinions like this in the internet and I wouldn't consider it as a recommendation to buy more, remember that hype is something that made newbies lost their money so I wouldn't base my decisions to what he is saying especially if his tweet is to vague to pinpoint when Bitcoin will actually hit that number.
1304  Economy / Services / Re: Seeking PR manager for a blockchain project on multi–platform on: March 11, 2020, 04:55:14 PM
Isn't the public relations department supposed to be part of the inner circle in the organization? They should be right there near the management in order for them to have better communications between  them and the public. Looking to outsourced your PR department  is really a bad idea if you think about the smoothness of the communication from each other so maybe you should try and to look someone near you rather than just recruit someone online.
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ]: Boxing - Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev on: March 11, 2020, 04:16:06 PM
Aj is at it again fighting heavyweights older than him who have a decent record. Pulev only lost to Klitschko but he was knocked out by Wladimir so if we are talking about skills and talent here I don't think he is at least on the caliber of AJ especially if you looked at his opponent's record you will see that the only high profile boxer he fought is Klitschko and he got KOed by him. So really I am giving the edge on this match to AJ who is cherry picking his opponents again, I just hope this is another Andy Ruiz kind of fight for Pulev.
1306  Economy / Economics / Re: WHO encourages use of digital payments due to COVID19 on: March 11, 2020, 03:24:22 PM
I think people are always overplaying what WHO says with regards to “contactless payments” in all the news I have seen so far. They make it look like this is the solution to stop the outbreak and this is the way not to get infected but the truth is banknotes are not even the ones soreading the disease but the people who are using them. WHO and dozens more of health organizations, health departments, and universities already claimed that hygiene is something we need to focus more on loke washing our hands thoroughly and cleaning surfaces woth disinfectants. Hygiene is so important that the doctors and nurses are not even recommending wearing a face mask for those who aren't infected. My advice is for you not to get carried away with the dozens of recycled news we have seen related to this.
1307  Other / Meta / Re: Possible restrictions on newbie accounts. on: March 10, 2020, 09:46:50 PM
Would such a measure (or something similar) make any sense at all, does it limit the forum's freedom of expression and whether it can prevent the abuse of a newbie accounts?

I would say yes for thread locking but the one where the newbies can only create threads on a particular board would definitely limit someone's freedom. So thread locking is the best solution here since in this way you will really know if a newbie is interested in their own topic or not. 5 posts left unreplied is good but we can also make it better by seeing if the newbie member already made other posts from different topics, in this way you will know that the newbie is really not interested in their topic. I don't know if the latter can be done automatically in the forum so I suggest that thread locking can also be done with the user of "report to moderator" function so the mods can also lock it right away before it turns into a megathread.
1308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stock Market took a huge dive, Cryptocurrency follows on: March 10, 2020, 08:17:24 PM
I know a lot of people usually say "no relation" "coincidence" etc but it's not true. Often traditional markets and Bitcoin behave the same way. Not only during the bad periods, during the good ones too. There are so many opportunities to see it.
And why it shouldn't be? Bitcoin has more people using it as an investment that people using it for real cases, I mean BTC is traded like the traditional markets.

Bitcoin Outperforms Nasdaq 100, S&P 500, Grows Whopping 37% in 2019

It doesn't seem like it, they may have the same movements during the bullish and bearish market in terms of trajectory but Bitcoin has been always outperforming the stock market in terms of gains, the gains are considerably big that NASDAQ even called it the best performing asset in 2019. So even if they have the same trajectory in the market you will always see Bitcoin outperforming gains compared to most bluechip stocks we have in the market. I'm also part of the people seeing no correlation between the crypto and stock market but this event is an exemption with us having a global pandemic at hand I know that it has influenced and inserted fear among all investors in all types of markets that is why we are having these kinds of sell-offs happening right now.
1309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency Podcasts on: March 10, 2020, 06:54:32 PM
This was asked before on another thread in the Bitcoin Discussion section and I did recommend a podcast that can be found in Spotify and that is Coinbound. I'm not really a fan or avid listener to podcast so I cannot really judge how good they are but they approached the crypto industry in a different way which is focusing more on the marketing side of crypto which I think is very unique compared to what other podcasts can bring.  So maybe if you are looking for another angle in the crypto industry this might be a good podcast to listen to, if not you can also look for the suggested podcasts in the thread link I have provided.
1310  Economy / Reputation / Re: Cheat Alt account in the campaign (SPYCE - Rise of Web 3.0 - Probit IEO). on: March 10, 2020, 05:53:41 PM
Good catch, but I will never understand what's in the minds of people who cheat this way and don't even try to hide their tracks. Is it that they are not aware that someone is paying attention to such things, or are they simply having low IQ so they use one address for different profiles?

They might not just be aware of the rules about cheating bounty campaigns that is why they just try to join multiple accounts with the same address, most of them are not even reading the rules so I won't be surprised if they just try to cheat a bounty campaign unknowingly. The bad thing about this is once they got caught from cheating a campaign I am certain that they won't be making this kind of mistake when they will try to cheat a campaign in the future.

It would be good if there was a database of all such accounts that could easily be checked by all signature/bounty managers - something like BPIP, but only with all linked (alt) accounts.

This is a good idea but I don't think that it is a more convenient way then just tagging the bounty cheaters. A red trust will be much more visible to them compared to looking at their names and profiles on a database or spreadsheet file. At least if a DT tagged them they can be automatically get excluded from that campaign.
1311  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin is now legal in india. on: March 10, 2020, 04:56:12 PM
When will this drama end? The debate on this matter has continued for several times. The state allows circulation, the central bank issues a warning, then circulates the ban, and then Parliament returns to deny that.
India is one of the countries for this model and I do not think that the huge platforms will be based in India as individuals will not consider investing huge amounts of money. Lack of clarity is a bigger problem than the ban.

At this rate where we get our news from random sources where we can't verify their reliability I don't think this kind of “ping-pong” like news infromation will ever stop. We don't even know what's true anymore until we see the effects on it so I won't really make an impression on the article the OP provided since it is always the same thing being reported everytime and  change it a little every now and then or even make something up just to stay relevant in the crypto news industry.
1312  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Leave crypto trading in lost condition is not an option. on: March 10, 2020, 04:15:33 PM
Actually making them quit crypto trading because of a loss is really a bad advice coming from a crypto trader. Instead of suggesting them to quit why not treat their mistakes as a learning experience for them? I know it is a tough pill to swallow but they will really lose everything if they just quit without trying again. If they are holding Bitcoin at a loss right now then they can still cut it and try to buy some crypto again. If they start cutting losses near their capital it will really be a good start for them conoared to cutting it like 10% or more than their original capital.
1313  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-09] Silver Lining for Bitcoin Amid Global Market Panic on: March 09, 2020, 09:47:12 PM
The newcomers arriving and making powerful buys did not get that money from using their graphics card back in the day. They came from conventional markets.

Or there are also first timers in a investor's market looking for some fast moving assets, and like what you have said some might not even have entered in the stock market in the first place. The "overlap" will be always there especially when you think about traditional investors venturing out to new markets looking for some fast movers but it won't be that big considering that investors in the stock market are always in the conservative side. I was one of the people that believe the COVID 19 has no connection with the recent drop but it is evident right now and it is causing a lot of panic on all investors from different markets, it might struck the crypto market late but right now I am seeing the crypto investors might be going on the safe side cashing out their money temporarily.
1314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guys, be aware of a new scam! Stay safe with your funds! on: March 09, 2020, 08:37:49 PM
I have watched some local videos from hacked users about this one and from what I noticed they are targeting "rising"/"decent" Youtube channels who are the most vulnerable since they are the ones looking for some sponsors, quick cash, and other promotional stuff that can help their channel grow. Based from their experiences what I can quickly summarize up is this.

1. They'll be targeting decent Youtube channels the ones who at least have 100k subscribers.
2. After that they'll try to contact that channel and invite him/her into some kind of paid activity.
3. The Youtuber will then be required to download some thing in order for that "promotion" to work.
4. His/her computer will be hacked.
5. The channel will then be in a state of transformation where they will delete all the hacked channel's videos, change the name, change the logo.
6. Then they'll be starting to do a streaming video of a fake giveaway.
1315  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Antminer Store - promineruk.com Review 100% Scam on: March 09, 2020, 07:37:37 PM
Sigggggh so I placed an order from promineruk.com and I am currently waiting to see if I will receive my order. I did the payment by wire transfer. I only suspected the phone agent being very suspicious after I made the payment. The WhatsApp number they are using is +44-795-705-8326. I saw they had a lot of good reviews on Trustpilot however now I am seeing this might all be fake. If they do not fulfill their end of the deal is there any recourse in this matter?

IF THEY DO NOT KEEP THEIR END OF THE DEAL I WILL BE POSTING ALL THE INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR FRAUD HERE!!!

Most of their info was already posted here and I think that it won't weigh anything if you add more into it. Their profile haven't replied to anything and they were last active when they have posted their last post so maybe they just gave up the fight, they didn't even replied why the OP didn't receive hist Antminer when they already confirmed that the payment was successful. The only help you can do by adding another scam accusation against them is of course showing that promineruk is fake and had several scams against several buyers, but hoping that you will receive the antminer you have bought might just be slim to none.
1316  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How would I start an investment fund that invests in small businesses? on: March 09, 2020, 06:23:03 PM
Generally if you are looking for a kind of partnership like this what you would be looking for is some kind of corporation where you will be the managing partner and the one providing the funds is from your silent partner. A normal partnership wouldn't simply cut out especially if you think about the market you will be covering if you think about how a corporation will stand out to the businesses you will be planning to manage. REITs and ETFs are also bound to be a corporation as they aren't normal commercial businesses. so I would advice you to start looking for partners wanting to build a corporation but it would be tough if you won't be flashing out cash on your own.
1317  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin is supposed to go up of this corona! people are doing it wrong on: March 09, 2020, 05:46:42 PM
I'm always about positive opinion towards Bitcoin but what you are suggesting right now could be something that others would regret following. I mean come on man, sell there houses to buy Bitcoin yet you also suggested for them to buy food worth of 3 months as well as gas for their cars?  If we are setting our priorities straight wouldn't you want to have a secure house to live in to protect yourself against the outbreak? It is just common sense why would you sell your house just for you to buy Bitcoin right now when we have so many unconfirmed cases as well as we are clueless on how the virus can transmit. I would encourage people buying Bitcoin but only in a way they can afford it without losing the basic necessities of living.

cash will carry virus, so bitcoin is the way..

Washing your hands thoroughly is the answer, not contactless payment

Also don't mislead people with only the things you know contactless payment isn't really the answer here, there will be no guarantees that you'll be safe from the coronavirus just because you are using Bitcoin.
1318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Security in Crypto Matters? on: March 09, 2020, 04:53:49 PM
For your average crypto investor where they buy and just hold the crypto this thing would be easier for them since sending their crypto to their wallet after buying them is just a one time process. However if we are talking about traders especially the day traders they can't risk their capital lying around in there wallet because they will miss some opportunities there. So maybe the best option for then really is to trade in a reliable exchange where they can have piece of mind trading or at least go to those crypto insurace coverages that protect them against crypto hacks and thefts which I think will be the preferred option for them.
1319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 09, 2020, 04:16:32 PM
As you may know, the deal for Ibra to Milan is for 6 months.

After these 6 months, he maybe goes to Monza, the new team of Berlusconi family/Galliani according to rumors.

Next year they will probably on Serie B and I doubt Ibra will be happy to end his carrier on second league...

Berlusconi and Galliani is the reason why he was sold to PSG just to have some profit in the first place why would you think Zlatan will want to play for them again? Obviously Zlatan loves Milan that's why he went back but if it weren't for Berlusconi leaving AC Milan he wouldn't be re-joining them during the last transfer window. Also Zlatan does'n have that much youth left to join a rebuild at this level where they need to be promoted twice to be in Serie A, they'll be winning a lot of games of course but Zlatan will be overqualified in that kind of league.
1320  Economy / Economics / Re: The Indian Bank System is Faulty, and Bitcoins will be it’s replacement. on: March 08, 2020, 09:05:47 PM
I have only a common idea about Indian banking system. It isn't very different from any central bank in the world. I can't support the idea of giving your money to banks.
Interest rates close to zero, centralized control, and no guarantees sometimes aren't cool.
Cryptocurrency is a conception of being your own bank, who needs a third party in 2020?

The RBI has actually more control than you think. They don't just lend and print money they also control what mode of payment their citizens can be use in their country. Like what I said in my above post they are also against crypto in terms of it being a legal tender in the country and they did a lot of things to keep it that way as well as to be unfair on crypto related businesses. Yeah sure that the part where you can keep your money on your own is there but banks have other functions like lending out money as well as underwriting acitivities, Bitcoin cannot simply make banks lose their businesses just because othe rpeople start storing their money in Bitcoin.
