1141  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The impact Blockchain has on Gold Investment on: April 20, 2020, 02:49:17 PM
This article isn't really talking about how Blockchain impacted Gold Investment but rather talks about how it created gold-backed stablecoins. Gold as an investment never had changed and has proven that it can be stable during rough times it also has proven that it can be a store of value however I cannot say the same thing for gold-backed cryptocurrencies, yes they may be backed by real gold but the problem arising from the ones holding the gold reserve has the potential to really destroy the said Gold stablecoin. Other than that why would they want a digital version of Gold if they can buy it directly in stores or trade it in metal markets online as well? If this Gold stablecoins have nothing new to add in I don't think it will have any further success to where it is now.
1142  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mythbusters: today's chapter - Bitcoin's correlation with traditional markets- on: April 20, 2020, 01:11:54 PM
Even if we haven't look at the financials of the company you will see that Bitcoin has been affected by the recent pandemic we have and that is just by looking at how it was brought down together with the massive sell-offs that happened in several markets. Looking at the financials would be really irrelevant as of right now since we all now know that their profits will most likely be negative especially the ones who have factories in China or who have markets that are earlier been affected, keep in mind that they have been affected since the beginning of January. Now if you are asking if this financial reports of US companies will be affecting Bitcoin? I guess not if you have seen it by now BTC is one of the earliest ones to recover in any market maybe there is really a shift of investors going on right now from traditional markets to the crypto market.
1143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies and Problems on: April 19, 2020, 09:15:24 PM
1. What is activity
2. What is merit
3. What is the criteria of rank system
I have seen many threads but no one has explained it in easy ways.
So these are the most common problems for the newbies.
And the one most important thing that how are we gonna earn from here???

^This aren't really important if you are just here to learn about Bitcoin itself. Essentially you only need to reach the Jr. Member rank to get all the features needed (image being shown in your post) and it just takes 6 weeks and a merit for you to be ranked a Jr. Member. I wouldn't really worry about this at all since they aren't really related to Bitcoin itself but rather the forum's ranking system. If I were you I'll just start reading thread and try to learn and be part of that conversation so that you could start learning.
1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO statistics on: April 19, 2020, 08:08:42 PM
There is no in depth list as of the moment and the best thing you can have is Cointtelligence's IEO list which is incomplete and lacks information about the cryptocurrency itself. You would be better of searching each and every single one of them through the crypto exchange's website like the one they have for Binance's launchpad which lists all the ongoing, upcoming, and completed IEOs together with the token's information. IMO this is a better way of knowing the IEO itself rather than just looking for a website where you will just see lack of information for the tokern/cryptocurrency.
1145  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Taxes and Cost of Transfer on: April 19, 2020, 07:11:04 PM
Crypto Exchanges are not the ones who charge taxes not unless you have a value-added tax there in the United Kingdom which amounts to 9%. However the tax isn't the one that flags it as a scam but the withdrawal fee which amounts to 300 pounds which is absolutely ridiculous to charge you with. First of all it is your money and you have the right to withdraw it from their platform, charging you this much will only make them profit just because you withdraw from their services. Also @OP it would be better if you tell us the name of the crypto exchange now since it would be hard second guessing if this crypto exchange you have an account with can be trusted in the first place. If this is a not well known exchange then chances are you are being scammed right now.
1146  Economy / Reputation / Re: Fake Translators on: April 19, 2020, 06:14:56 PM
One of the factors that should be considered is how soon the users translate something.
Google translate came a long way last few years, and sometimes, for some languages, it can be really hard to tell if it's used or not.
But if a hunter sends me a WP with 100+ pages translated in just a day, then for sure he's using something,

Not really, Google translate mostly translates the body word for word and their sentence conversation isn't that perfect that anyone who can speak and read the local language will see the grammatical errors in what they have translated.

The thing that bugs me about this is Rummypandwar  didn't apply for Thai translation in that project yet he made a Thai translated post. This leads me to believe that one of them is an alt of another since they have posted the same Google translated post. The titles are the same, the time posted are not that far away from each which just shows that the person might have mistakenly posted the same post twice using two of the accounts.
1147  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Ullu : Decentralized platform on: April 19, 2020, 05:08:51 PM
This project already has a confirmed scam accusation against them being connected to a scam cryptocurrency which is related to the current coronavirus outbreak. What's concerning about their project is the connection between this one and "Covid19Coin" since they are using exactly the same whitepaper with just changing the names of their respective coins. The connection also doesn't end in the plagiarized content since they are also headed by the same team as well.
1148  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-04-13] Coin Mixer’s Record Month Proves Bitcoin Users Want Anonymity on: April 19, 2020, 03:30:27 PM
Agreed. For this reason, did criminals find a new method to trick Chainanalysis and make it appear that they are regular people randomly mixing their coins?

Why would regular people who use bitcoin as a speculative investment want to mix their coins?

It doesn't mean if a person automatically uses Mixers will then he or she be is in a process of doing an illicit activity. I've seen enough posts here in the forum on how they want to avoid KYC from using a DEX or other ways to exchange their crypto, I've seen enough posts on how they want to buy Bitcoin without verifying something or using their credit cards, I've seen enough posts on how they can transact online without providing any personal information, all of this posts/threads just implies that a lot of people still aim to have privacy because they value it too much that's why they use mixers as well. If Chainalysis assumes that everyone who are using mixers are criminals then they must do more better research than this.
1149  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Trying scamming, be careful before click this mail on: April 18, 2020, 09:53:11 PM
I don't know about this site mydigitalsurvey, even yesterday and today i received 20-25 mail from this site. Their trying to scam me with still give me many mail and more money offer.

Just a tip for emails/text messages where the message is saying that you have won something without you having any knowledge of joining a contest at all this is already a good indication to delete that email and avoid clicking any links coming from it. You can't just randomly win something without you signing up on any kind of contest, just question yourself why the hell did your email got picked up by this survey website without you knowing what is that website in the first place. This is also for all the newbies who always get see the rewards rather than the truth, once you bite their bait a you'll be risking everything from that scam.
1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 18, 2020, 08:12:24 PM
Teams will be confined in training retreats for the remainder of the season, so “if everyone tests negative, there won’t be any problems of distancing or the virus spreading” Gravina further explained.

As part of the measures, players will be divided into smaller training groups and will have to shower separately, as well as observing social distancing during meals, meetings and gym sessions.

It seems like with plans like this even there shower schemes check in place there is now a sure possibility that the league will indeed resume. However my doubts are how does the Italian government feel about this one? Did the Serie A have the government's blessing already or do they don't have any objections on the league resuming since from what I know the government has already told them to back down in their training a while back did everything change overnight just for their league to resume?
1151  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best exchange(s) for short selling? on: April 18, 2020, 07:21:40 PM
This will be a tough one since from one I know crypto exchanges don't have the automatic short position in their features since they are mostly spot exchanges. What traders mostly do is they use bots in these crypto exchanges programmed to do short selling as well as automatically buying at the target bottom. You should also do research in these crypto exchanges if they do allow the use of bots in their platform so that you avoid being banned and also locking your account. Other option is if you are interested in margin positions (for exchanges that has one) which also have the short function in them although these will also make you borrow money for the trade which I think doubles the risk if you aren't that really sure of the trade.
1152  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitsprox.pro Exchange Scam or legit ? on: April 18, 2020, 06:10:04 PM
Update ,

Once we told them the company name was not registered to them they said that its a partner, we called them and they said no, then all people blocked us and left chat ! conclusion, someone is pulling a SCAM with this company bitsprox.pro.

I hope others search google first and this comes up to warn them ,

Bitsprox.pro itself is not to be trusted with since all they have are fake reviews and a considerably few honest feedback behind them. Like what they have said would you really try to launch your project's cryptocurrency on a not very well known crypto exchange? Your IEO listing itself will do poorly even if they handle it very well, with low volume and low people using their crypto exchange the sale target you would expect won't be reach. I would suggest aiming to the top even if it will cost you more so that your IEO will have a great start rather than starting poorly in a unreputable exchange, this will have long term effects on your crypto as well launching in a sketchy exchange. Basically you really don't want to be associated in this kind of things.
1153  Economy / Economics / Re: China will rule world as economy king after crisis end? on: April 18, 2020, 05:09:02 PM
We are already hearing reports how other countries that are extremely affected are suing China for damages in the reason of how they have allowed this COVID-19 virus to grow and spread to other countries. Several countries including the UK and US are thinking that China should also be held liable for being the main cause of this pandemic. If you think about it if they hadn't silenced their media and confirmed the spread earlier most countries at the beginning of January should have act out properly based on the information they have on December. But since China wanted to limit the spread on their own ways without banning flights and restricting their own citizens on going out it had spread to several countries now. If Big countries like the US and UK team up with other countries I think China will be the one buried in debt and not the countries who have more infection now, after all China cannot risk to be alone here without any kind of allies in the world.
1154  Other / Meta / Re: A child board for qualifying threads in Beginners & Help board on: April 18, 2020, 03:50:31 PM
And what do your propose to be the name of that Beginners and Help Child Board? Because we cannot necessarily make a duplicate copy of a board that has the same function only this time it is restricted to real newbies who have real questions in that board, you are just ruining the purpose of that board if you restricts members who have 19 and below merits. After all if you look at the condition of the B&H board now you will see that a lot of threads are also made up of Sr. Members and above and that is without any kind of restrictions to anyone. Only putting a restriction to a childboard with the same purpose will only make newbies be uninterested with that child board. Beginners and Help section isn't that bad also as compared to spammy boards such as Bitcoin Discussion and Economics section.
1155  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FBI Warned That COVID-19 Scammers Are Targeting Crypto Holders on: April 17, 2020, 09:54:46 PM
Best advise is avoid anything regarding covid19 platform when regards to donation, investment or transaction.

I'm pretty sure people know that investment on COVID19 is pretty shady, but some donation programs are legit. I believe it is not that hard to distinguish the fake and the real one.

Avoiding them altogether would decrease the number of funds for helping people in dire need. I bet any government bodies won't suggest something like that. Especially when they can't solve it on their own.

We can't really be complacent right now since this is really a serious matter that even WHO and Interpol have guidelines regarding COVID-19 related scams, this only mean that there are already a lot of victims because of the use of the current pandemic with such investment schemes. What would be more appropriate for this agencies who are already aware of the scams happening is to blacklist this sites in order to lessen the chances of them having new victims, I know that they have the power to do that and instead of just reminding people about the current scams happening I think this will be a better solution overall.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinmarketcap or Coingecko? on: April 17, 2020, 08:57:10 PM
It's better to save our opinion when it comes to coinmarketcap as of the moment since they were recently acquired by Binance, I know a lot of people will have negative views towards this including me since Binance is literally monopolizing the crypto industry not just particular markets in it. But what does it mean for Coinmarketcap? It only means that a billion dollar company is now backing them and with the really big amount in order to acquire them which is around 400 million dollars I think it only means that Binance has really big plans for CMC. So we really need to scrape of some things like the date manipulation, discrepancies, and other scandals that has plagued CMC. Just think of it as CMC being a new crypto tracking website which has a potential to have more accurate pricing for cryptocurrency and up to date list for all coins in the industry.
1157  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: FSB on Global Stable Coins (GSC) on: April 17, 2020, 05:32:22 PM
Well, here is my personal opinion. There are no propositions stated in this article so I may not be able to know if it is really just to have the GSC. Though there will be a lot of issues and concerns that must be addressed, --this Gsc may really eat other currencies but we cannot conclude if it will give us a better economy or might as well worsen the industry. The Creator of GSC perhaps has there own ideas in addressing these concerns and why they should want to have one world currency.

If you look at the document's header you'll see that this is a potential "embargo" for several developed countries. What it does if countries in the G20 will based their findings of the opinion of FSB in the article they have written out. Personally FSB created their conclusion without bias towards cryptocurrencies but basically the threat they are calling "GSC" is something nonexistent as of the moment. Right now this potential embargo they are planning is a preparation for what is it to come when a cryptocurrency plans to become a GSC, countries part of the G20 who have agreed with the embargo would essentially not accept the GSC in their country.
1158  Economy / Speculation / Re: My first experience of Bitcoin halving, I'm excited. on: April 15, 2020, 03:18:10 PM

Bitcoin is ponzi-ish
Angry
But for Bitcoin to have value it requires more people to recognize it and follow it. For Gold to maintain liquid value it requires a consistent flow in relation to currency. That will not make Gold a Ponzi scheme. 400 million a month into BTC is a drop in the bucket (according to a tweet I saw during my research).

My question is what price do you predict Bitcoin to be after this Halving and also I would like to get more details as regard to the Halving event. Does it have a venue?

Bitcoin was never a ponzi scheme nor an exit scam since even if its price is too volatile it doesn't mean Bitcoin is a ponzi. Another point on why Bitcoin is not a ponzi is the way Satoshi introduce it as a alternative mode of payment for a P2P tranaction rather than an investment, Saotshi didn't mention anything about Bitcoin having high yields of return nor it being an investment. Simply the volatility we have now is caused by our own doing and no one else.

If reading is what you call "research" then I'm afraid that you still have the wrong way of doing it. Research required more than reading anything and believing that it will happen just because someone wrote it in the internet.  Of course if you are expecting a 13,000% return then anything not near to the volume expected to that tweet would be a failure but don't even expect that Bitcoin can repeat another 13,000% price increase since we are in a far more worse market condition compared to where Bitcoin have stand out in the past. Halving doesn't have any exact date but it is expected to happen around the 2nd week of May.
1159  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: FSB on Global Stable Coins (GSC) on: April 15, 2020, 01:57:43 PM
1. Characteristics of global stablecoins

Similarly, the attribute global refers to a stablecoin with a potential reach and adoption across multiple
jurisdictions and the potential to achieve substantial volume, thus posing financial stability
risks, rather than a specific legal or regulatory concept.

The problem that I see here is there own definition of what a stable coin is. If you look at there definition you'll see that a stable coin is considered to be a "GSC" if it has the "potential" to be mass adopted in several countries which the definition itself is pretty vague considering that this report is done by an international body part of the G20. If we look at the current situation now you will clearly see that there are no GSCs at present even though they have a potential to be one I doubt that they'll be the first ones to be mass adopted compared to Bitcoin. Basically they are worried about nothing and just adding a lot of problems to the pile of what we are facing right now, or may I am missing something here like the FSB is just actually trying to prepare for a cryptocurrency-first type of world?

User name: pankaj1234
Profile :https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2685867

This person is claiming youtube bounty, I think he is Scammer.
You should provide more proof regarding this claim, just linking the profile of the accused and saying that he is YouTube bounty scammer or whatever is not enough.
What I can understand from previous posts (correct me if I'm wrong), you claim that @pankaj1234 used someone else's YouTube videos and presented them as their own in the bounty campaign?
Btw, did you edit your post and removed some previously shared info?

You are correct he definitely edited his post and removed alsmost everything, OP removed his very long post about this guy^  stealing  youtube videos from two other accounts. I wonder why he removed his post since the evidence was really convincing to begin with and also can prove someonne of the two or even three is plagiarizing someone else's work. I guessed he removed it by now since he is incriminating the two "controlled" accounts being alts of each other.
