1101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free BTC Mining Sites on: April 28, 2020, 08:04:29 PM
"Free" and "Stable Earnings" doesn't really go in the same sentence if you ask me. Everyone needs to either exchange it for work or rather capital in order to have a chance of earning money stably. In crypto mining on the other hand there is no such thing that exists and you really have to pay something in order to start earning something even HYIPs (don't try this one) are asking for your money to either have fake earnings or be scammed. Since you are looking for free ways to earn my guess is you don't have any capital to begin with that's why the best thing for you to do is to find freelance work here online in exchange of your talent from photoshop skills to video editting or even creating music your talent can be exchange for people's cash.
1102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies are safer with top altcoins on: April 28, 2020, 07:10:24 PM
Seek for more crypto knowledge before investing in new projects, it's not always that easy to choose, as a newbie it's better to stick with old top altcoins on coinmarketcap, why? Because many newbie are in rush to make fast returns, if you are this type pls go for better top coins, 90% of new coins aren't serious at all, they are here to steal money from investors and give fake promises in return

Even if people are losing money on worthless altcoins what more it will be if they choose top altcoins and even Bitcoin? These cryptocurrencies are highly volatile too just by picking them is not gonna make your capital any safer if you really don't know what you are doing so I wouldn't really recommend this kind of advice for any newbies during the end of the 2017 bull run a lot of newbies who have entered late have either cut their losses significantly or have reduced their capital by a lot. A person who really knows what he/she is doing can profit at any cryptocurrencies even if their market cap isn't in that top 20, the thing is they should be knowledgeable on when to enter and when to exit in a trade so that they avoid losing money or just minimize the lost they will be incurring.
1103  Other / Meta / Re: View forum on mobile on: April 28, 2020, 06:15:55 PM
Not having mobile version sucks, but there are applications now that can convert these older sites into a mobile friendly format

Are you sure that these aren't your phone's problem? Before I had an S9 my Galaxy S4 was working perfectly when I'm using it for surfing Bitcointalk even without ticking anything about viewing the desktop version of the site. Maybe if you have a phone that has lower than 1080p resolution or a browser app that isn't good makes BCT bad on your browser?
1104  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-04-26] Global Deflation May Not Be Bad News for Bitcoin on: April 28, 2020, 03:26:06 PM
Quote
The rush for cash, however, may not have a substantially negative impact on bitcoin’s price because deflation would also boost the purchasing power of the cryptocurrency.

LoL! This is the first time I read someone talking about the purchasing power of cryptocurrency. How many people use cryptocurrencies as currency when compared to investment? 2 percent? 5 percent? The article in short discussing the scenario that I can buy 5 lollipops with 0.0001 BTC instead of 4 just because the fall in Bitcoin's price in terms of USD will be less than the rate of deflation in USD.

This doesn't make any sense. I don't know whom this article is trying to give sigh of relief but it is common phenomenon that people move towards safer investments (in terms of volatility) like Gold or keep money in fiat currency during pandemic. Bitcoin never proved itself in any crisis before so we can't simply predict how it gonna perform in coming days. It fell by approx 40% during the first wave of Corona and still trying to recover from that fall.

I don't think that statement is really wrong, if you thin about the value of Bitcoin it is always based in it's fiat value like the USD thus in turn also making it's purchasing power bigger since it's dollar value have also increased in purchasing power. Bitcoin does not need to be directly used in terms of being a payment option for it to have an increased in purchasing power, as long as deflation exists and other payments has USD value in it they will also benefit in increase in purchasing power it is simple as that.
1105  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Minerium Coin SCAM on: April 28, 2020, 02:30:37 PM
It's funny to see that in there OP they stated that the pre-sale for Minerium is ongoing yet when people judge that how can they even start a pre-sale when they haven't shown any "faces, roadmap, whitepaper" of the project they directly contradicted what they have said.

So far the tests on masternodes are working great, we need to finish the roadmap now and the website before releasing the source code and start the pre-sale !

I'm agreeing with what the OP is saying but from where it stands where they are just being shady I don't think any DT member will see this as enough evidence to tag the project themselves. To be honest they are really dodgy and also debate with members doubting their project all of which are valid request/points of members to a project of course.
1106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 27, 2020, 09:45:09 PM
@LFC_Bitcoin you really think that Liverpool needs to sign 31old players? Now when they on the top, why you need the old players? I am not sure how they can improve Liv. team performance.

Liverpool might be interested in him as being a back up player for Salah or Mane since he can play both of this spot. I agree with you that he won't improve the team that much as a starter but this will be a very good signing as a role player especially if either of them gets injured or needs to rest. Willian will be a good signing here especially if they get him now that he can sign for anyone for free, I know at 31 he won't be looking for any starter roles in the Premier League so signing for a Champions League team like Liverpool will be a good option for him.
1107  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [e-commerce Gaming/Service Project] Need partner/s, webdesigner, marketing... on: April 27, 2020, 07:34:14 PM
Hey there I know you are looking for a web designer because you will also do a make-over of your site but there is also options for you to implement Bitcoin payments now with the use of payment gateways like BTCPay, Bitpay, and Coinbase Commerce that last to supports Bitcoin payments that can automatically be coverted to fiat. But if you purely want to accept Bitcoin payments with 0% fees I would recommend you using BTCPay since you will be removing additional cost as well as also accept other cryptocurrencies.
1108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why there is no Standard Marketplace like Amazon with BTC as payment method?? on: April 27, 2020, 06:18:00 PM
I know...there are smaller marketplaces that people can buy/sell goods via bitcoin, but why a major marketplace is not emerging??

It's because these big companies are afraid to handle Bitcoin's volatility, for any company who will be receiving Bitcoin as a payment they are also risking themselves of losing the value of the payment seconds after they receive it and for any big company they aren't willing to risk their revenues because of it. This is also why Steam , the gaming platform, suspended Bitcoin as their payment option just when Bitcoin suddenly fell during the 2017 bull run their earnings wear hit because of it. I know the solution for this companies is to have some kind of third party where they'll be the ones receiving Bitcoin and in turn this party will be paying them fiat currency which is what they mainly want, this might be their best option right now if they want to open a big door of opportunity for them.
1109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to buy - question to Hodlers on: April 27, 2020, 03:54:09 PM

I myself buy Bitcoin every month no matter the price for a set amount from my paycheck, in hopes of averaging the price I buy for.
Before doing that Id wait and hope to catch it at a lower price but that always seemed to go in the wrong way, aka. price went up =)

DCA is probably one of the worst strategies here in the crypto market, it works in the stock market because prices of stocks are mostly stable compared to the wild jumps and fall we have in the crypto market. Simply by doing DCA in the crypto market you are just avoiding a lot of chances at the same time increasing your risk of having paper losses because you always disregard one thing and that is the price when you have bought Bitcoin. Since you are a beginner I won't really tell you to do a full on TA study but I would simply advice you to know where the supports and resistances are when you are at the time you will be buying, the nearest the price of Bitcoin is near the support level the bigger will be your margin of safety as well as maximizing the earning potential of your capital.
1110  Economy / Economics / Re: How can the corona virus end Faster and economy reopen on: April 27, 2020, 03:19:15 PM
The corona virus is said to be in the air and has some limit of time to spend in the air.
But the virus keep spreading even if it cant spend long in air or anywhere.
After all the lockdowns in every country, the virus still keep spreading.

How does COVID-19 spread?

People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. The disease spreads primarily from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth, which are expelled when a person with COVID-19 coughs, sneezes, or speaks. These droplets are relatively heavy, do not travel far and quickly sink to the ground. People can catch COVID-19 if they breathe in these droplets from a person infected with the virus. This is why it is important to stay at least 1 metre (3 feet) away from others. These droplets can land on objects and surfaces around the person such as tables, doorknobs and handrails. People can become infected by touching these objects or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. This is why it is important to wash your hands regularly with soap and water or clean with alcohol-based hand rub.

WHO is assessing ongoing research on the ways that COVID-19 is spread and will continue to share updated findings.

^This is the common misconception of everyone that coronavirus is airborne but until now WHO hasn't updated their findings with regards to how the COVID-19 spread, it still is from person to person contacts that is why majority of the countries seriously affected are practicing home quarantines and social distancing to prevent as much person to person contact possible.

Right now there is no time in believing in conspiracy theories and "what ifs" since if the government played along they will lost focus on actually trying to find a cure but the people behind it which you are claiming. I know thousands of people are getting infected everyday and the best chance we have is to only find a cure as well as follow the government in the quarantines that will take place.
1111  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Bitcoin - Crypto - Blockchain writers on: April 27, 2020, 02:03:38 PM
~snip

Hello there,

We can be somewhat flexible with rates depending on experience and article. But we will have a ceiling that is not as high as with other news and blogs.

And of course, when we will start earning more, grow bigger we can, of course, spend more.

So, for now, we might not be able to attract the senior writers due to our lower (current) revenue. But when that changes we will change our rates accordingly.

We will pay people, and it won't be pennies and I would prefer to have those discussions with each writer via PM. If the rates are not good enough then people can always say no.

Well that is good to hear, my advice for you since you have a tight budget I would focus more on the quality side of things rather than the quantity of writers I can pay on a limited budget. Spending this budget for maybe 2 to 3 writers per category is a good idea compared to have dozens on writers just to maximize the budget. If you focus more on quality then definitely your viewers would react more positively since this is what lacking on most content base crypto related websites right now.
1112  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now Bitcoin will pump or dump? on: April 26, 2020, 09:32:52 PM
I don't think bitcoin will get a big pump on the crisis pandemic that has hit the world. All people are in economic times that are difficult to meet their needs and need more cash for their survival. maybe in the short term we will see bitcoin in the area of $ 7500 - $ 8080 in the coming week even though it coincides with the halving event for Bitcoin 2020, but in the short term bitcoin will fall to lowest level. I predict big pump will occur by the end of 2021.

We cannot say that is for sure because just when Bitcoin got down as soon as the world markets fell Bitcoin is the only one who got up and quickly recovered, this alone shows that the dump was only cause by the global pandemic and the actual demand for Bitcoin is really strong especially when you think about how it quickly recovered from the 4,800$ mark which was simply amazing. On Bitcoin going up to the 7,500$ to 8,800$ level I could see that there is a big possibility but as of the moment Bitcoin is still consolidating which does not show neither it being bullish nor bearish, I would still observe what this week will offer to us to see a much bigger picture of the actual movement of Bitcoin.
1113  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: April 26, 2020, 08:45:01 PM
To return to the original question.
I try to give as little data as possible. Which is why I'm having even more trouble with KYC. I'm releasing data that criminals can use to destroy my entire life.  Almost daily there are reports of hacked accounts and servers or data transfer to third parties.
If I could at least be sure that my original data would never be saved but converted in a way that nobody else could do anything with it. Then I would have less stomach ache. Because you have to register at one exchange at least, if you need a Fiat Gateway.

First of all you wouldn't have this kind of worry in you if where you submitted your KYC from is also trusted by you, knowing that KYC all has your important documents in it I think you should be the one who decide what projects get it and what projects don't because I certainly believe a lot of projects especially the ones who will ask for KYC later aka KYC-trap are not the be trusted with. However if this project is highly trusted and is reputable I think you should be confident enough to give away your KYC, since they are not really the ones asking your personal information because the government is the ones requiring them to do so.
1114  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When to report crypto on taxes? on: April 26, 2020, 07:51:19 PM
Does anyone ever claim/report their crypto purchases/sales?
What is your threshold for reporting?
I was thinking no one bothers unless you withdraw hundreds of thousands of dollars.

This is where a lot of people are wrong about taxes, they think that if it is small enough or won't go over the AML threshold it would go under the radar from their taxing authorities and yes they are right about it but they are wrong about evading their taxes and they are actually committing fraud while doing it. It's always wrong when you are not stating your full earnings during that year and it won't good to no one's eyes except yours remember that taxes are an obligation not some kind of choice where people can choose what amount they just want to pay. And based from your previous post I think you live in the USA and from what I know the IRS is actually strict when it comes to your tax report yearly.
1115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Project use case is important for long term investment on: April 26, 2020, 07:06:07 PM
I have seen several investors complain of rekts and loss after participating in certain ieos or investment, the token refuses to pump or increase in value.

It's the investor's fault for demanding the project to pump the prices, I mean it's like the equivalent of asking a company to pump their own stock prices even though they know to themselves that if they are underperforming that year it would be impossible for them to do so. Yeah sure they can buy shares of their own but this will just be a band aid solution at best.

Because a project without use case, it's just crypto currency. Without demand for the token, it may never reach its true value.

This is where a lot of crypto projects fail, since they aren't fulfilling their promises or actually accomplishing something they have said in their roadmap then a promising project would definitely fail and the demand will diminish since there are really no developments involved with the project. That's why just a piece of my advice I would highly recommend you not to always just look for ICOs that are promising but also is handled by responsible people who will definitely guide their project towards their goals.
1116  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam] Youtube Channel Bitcoin Giveaway on: April 26, 2020, 05:46:05 PM
As long these yt channel owners don't care about the security of their accounts,? more and more users especially newbies will get scammed sooner.

I don't think that they "don't" care for their account's security but them making Youtube as their profession will make them vulnerable to these. I've seen news on how these channels got hack and the main reason is a company/organization will be pretending that they are looking for sponsors and will ask for the Youtuber to review the product by downloading something, that something is ofcourse a malware which purpose is to know your Youtube channel's information. It's not their fault but if an opportunity like that came knocking on your door I know a lot of us will also be fooled when it comes to their tactics.
1117  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-04-17] Crypto’20 VS COVID-19 on: April 26, 2020, 01:57:17 PM
As the world is moving online, people have started calling fiat ineffective and even dangerous.

I never have seen people say this even online, so I really wonder how this article have come up to this claim? I also took some time to see in Google if there are people and governments actually saying their own fiat currency is "dangerous" or "ineffective", the only news I'm seeing about them are related to WHO's misunderstood statement about bank notes are the ones spreading the virus which in the truth is the physical contact is the one that can spread it not the fiat currency itself. I don't know this website pretty well but right now with claims like this not showing any proof people are actually saying it just shows that the website is only the ones assuming it as facts.
1118  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam] Youtube Channel Bitcoin Giveaway on: April 25, 2020, 08:56:51 PM
As of the time of this being posted they are still live until now which there are currently 2,416 watching the channel, the chat is also disabled unlike other fake streaming giveaways in Youtube so there are no other members can warns them it also looks like that like and dislike button are disabled as well. From what I know and what I have seen in previous related cases the best way to handle this is to mass report the page and/or the video, I did my part and reported the video in spam or misleading and chose scam and fraud. I believe enough reports the same us mine will be able to take down this channel.
1119  Other / Meta / Re: Appeal of Ban Appeal: “hacker1001101001” spammer-sockpuppet menagerie on: April 25, 2020, 07:25:56 PM
Fighting scam but spreading spam? I am not convince that hacker1001101001 deserves to even have a chance to even be here in the forum. It's pretty ironic that he is cleaning the forum from scams yet he is something doing against the rules by being involve in a bumping service.

I have stated multiple times I was involved in it before I was aware about the core working of the forum, I was/am pretty much against spamming on the forum and even discourage working of such misleading services.

He might not even stop it in his own will since the bumping system in the ANN section of Altcoins have been change that's why he is claiming that he is no longer part of it. However if hacker1001101001 still wants to receive a temp ban I think it would be enough for him to spill out all the names part of this bumping service (with proof) in order to come out clean.

Are you trying to imply ban as some 3rd degree torture treatment so that I would spill out... ? I don't have any internal knowledge about those services and the user's behind it. I am sure there are many people's around the forum anonymously offering such services which is out of anyone's reach, not even mine.

So are you claiming that you have been involved in a bumping service where dozens of accounts are involved in the service itself yet you only know your name? From what you have previously posted and expressed before it seems like you aren't willing to share their names because it would be "unethical" on your part, you cannot just simply take back some statements just for your own convenience. No, I don't consider this as some kind of torture and I think you should too since if your life and connections from these bumping service are really over I think this will be a good time to mention their names by now if you really have "discourage working of such services" .
1120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 25, 2020, 05:52:56 PM
Last week FIGC already post a press release about protocol to resume Serie-A on their website. In other news, if they are starting to resume, maybe it will end of May or at beginning of June. Forbes

I have seen this news about Serie A continuing their season for 2020/2019 and I think it was highly likely to happen but when I read this news it seems like still a lot of Italian teams are having some issues when it comes to the medical procols issued by Serie A is still not enough for majority of the teams part of the league. The news didn't really dive down to the issue or what parts are concerning the teams but I'm sure it is part about the safety of their players and how they can guarantee them that they won't be infected somehow during or while going in and out of the stadium. I know that they still have a lot of time left but they need to fix this quick in order for all the teams to have an agreement.
