681  Other / Meta / Re: Where to post asking if anyone is interested in starting a "project" together? on: August 10, 2020, 11:05:00 PM
I think the project development section is wrongly used. Most wrong topics I see are people looking for partners, investors, developers, and marketers which in my point of view is more suitable in either the marketplace section or the service section of the forum since you are mainly looking for manpower in your project and you arem't discussing anything about the project itself. Aside from that these topics are also mostly spammed by newbies trying to pm and send you their telegram accounts which I personally consider sketchy.
682  Economy / Economics / Re: Anyone here Studying Econ ? on: August 10, 2020, 10:05:49 PM
Honestly before I graduated last 2 years ago most of the projects and presentations I have seen in multiple subjects are related to cryptocurrencies particularly Bitcoin maybe its the new trend of being unique or showing something new to the class and the professors but literally more than 30% are showing it at that time. And in most times our teachers are left with more questions rather than answers it might be because they aren't even aware of what cryptocurrencies are or they fail to understand the importance of it either way the students are more knowledgeable compared to them. So I don't think there will be any kind of problems when it comes to students presenting them in classes as maybe in most of the times they'll be able to answer their questions.
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Average Congressman has nearly 60 years. Can those grandpas regulate bitcoin? on: August 10, 2020, 03:37:05 PM
I get where you are getting at and these "grandparents" we are talking about among the years I have seen in news on their statements/opinions towards newer generation things like Bitcoin or even social media (Facebook) aren't aware of what they are even talking about. I've heard statements from these oldies about Bitcoin being a crypto in the dark web or something that only criminals news, I've heard statements that mining farms generate more pollution as well as consume more electricity. All of these statements are coming from senators, congressmen, as well as economists all of whom are old. They are either clueless of what they are talking about or they are just close minded in these topics.
684  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do exchanges get away with faking trade volume? on: August 10, 2020, 03:04:56 PM
I do think you are talking about unlicensed exchanges here since they can easily get away with it without any authorities noticing it. For licensed and legally operating exchanges it will be harder for them to cheat and mislead their users as their data is always monitored by their country's SEC. I know that if they have produced fake volume on their exchanges they will be investigated right away since users will also report/complain about it. For unlicensed exchanges where they will barely have any customers will really get away with this since they aren't part of any surveillance like what a legal company is always is.
685  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-08-10] Capital Flight Out of Asia Is Taking Bitcoin Express: Max Keiser on: August 10, 2020, 01:58:42 PM
Max Keiser assumes that many of the people who are fleeing Hong Kong, and possibly China, are likely taking their capital with them in the form of Bitcoin. Large amounts of fiat cash or physical gold/silver are impossible to take out of the country due to capital restrictions.

Here we go again with statements on why Bitcoin is surging up without any kind of evidence that is happening at all. Bitcoin as some kind of safe haven for troubled countries/citizens isn't really new and is sometimes always in the news but the problem is they aren't backing it up with anything proving their point. Yeah there is a possibility that this is happening but I don't think this is ran on a massive scale to the point of it being the actual reason why Bitcoin is moving up.
686  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC has hit ATH against Turkish Lira on: August 10, 2020, 12:37:37 PM
Bitcoin rising up in Turkish Lira can only mean 2 things 1 is that people in Turkey are selling their fiat currency to buy Bitcoin as some kind of "safe haven" and the other one is that the Turkish Lira has devalued fast that's why we are seeing an ATH for their exchange but there is a great chance that this 2 things is the reason why it got up to that level. A devalued fiat currency combined with people dumping it will result to Bitcoin being bought in that country to rise up in demand which will be the case if people in Turkey do buy cryptocurrencies there.
687  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India considers another widespread ban on Bitcoin on: August 10, 2020, 11:29:24 AM
Didn't the SC ruled recently the cryptocurrencies being traded in their country is not illegal? They just stepped on the circular ordered by the RBI and we are seeing new kind of laws about cryptocurrencies being illegal again. It's crazy to think that this is happening to India where a lot of departments within their government are having different decisions with regards to the crypto industry in their country, if this happens I don't think we will reach any kind of clarification soon.
688  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Working online for bitcoin - would you give this up? on: August 10, 2020, 10:34:41 AM
Depends on how you define "available" for being online.

Great question!  "Available" just means you are in front of the computer available to do quick tasks that may pop up.  You can do anything you normally do while being available.

If that is the case then I think a lot of people will see it attractive as long as it doesn't disturb on what they are doing. Also are these task as soon as it pops out in their computer would the users have some kind of deadline/allotted time for them to finish it before the task disappears and becomes invalid in your part? I see that this is also an important part for people who can't do the task right away.
689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: We ought to be willing to read and learn on: August 09, 2020, 11:22:06 PM
I'm not sure how familiar you are with the forum so I'm posting this. If you are looking to contribute your knowledge as a back-end developer or try to learn the technical aspect of Bitcoin I think the best section for you to hang out and read some threads are these 2 sections.

Development & Technical Discussion
Bitcoin Technical Support

Aside for being informative they most posters here a friendly to newbies who wants to learn the technical side of Bitcoin. Also I'm not trying to limit the sections on where you read and discuss with I mean all the names of sections can speak for itself and show you the topics you might be looking for.
690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior [PPV on Nov. 28] on: August 09, 2020, 10:19:20 PM
I understand why a lot of people are picking Mike Tyson being a legend and all but what people don't get is he has been inactive for several years now as compared to Roy Jones who is active in pro-boxing where his last fight happened last 2 years ago. When it comes to being involved in the sport I think Roy Jones is more match fit compared to Mike Tyson. But if this is an official match it will always boil down to preparation with them until the day of the match so Mike Tyson has a chance of winning this but the question is, is he gonna be prepared to do so?

He's popular and nothing beats that in the media. If its going to be hype a lot, the more people know the even and will probably bet. Its yet not open on sportsbet but there will be many of us going to be there when its available.

Both these boxers will fight differently than how they are back in the days and with the influence of their trainers today, both will learn each other to avoid getting knocked.

Not only the media is siding with Mike Tyson but the bookies as well which is strange coming from a man whos last fight was 15 years ago. Yeah he isn't out of shape or anything but the question is will he still be match ready when the day comes. He might do some sparring and heavy training like what the media is saying but it only shows Tyson just wants to catch up on the years he have rested facing a pro boxer who was just inactive recently. In terms of age, height, and reach they are even the only question is who still have gas on their tanks on the fight night.
691  Other / Meta / Re: Opening Mutiple Ann Threads - Allowed? on: August 09, 2020, 09:42:56 PM
Many of those can be reported as "wrong board" and/or "duplicate of <URL>" but...

It looks like some folks have discovered a way of bypassing the bumping system by posting their ANNs in discussion boards.

This type of spam is a bit tricky. The threads are not merely duplicates. Such "discussions" are harder to report convincingly, particularly if other members actually join the discussion and it's not just a shillfest. I guess as long as the OP of the thread puts some effort into making it look like a discussion then we'll have to tolerate it.

Can't your report these type of threads as wrongly posted topics on a board? For what logfiles give we can easily say that the similar topic they have in the trading discussion thread is wrongly posted as they are just promoting their website/service which isn't the trading discussion is made for. If it is not I think it should be this way as these services are bypassing the bumping system we have created for their service promotion. Because they can just easily create topics where post bumps are available and just make it look like a discussion for them to just pass.
692  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Working online for bitcoin - would you give this up? on: August 09, 2020, 08:41:08 PM
Depends on how you define "available" for being online. If being available means to you being focused solely on doing the tasks given to the users I believe 1$ won't cut it for example you will just be earning 8$ for 8 hours worth of work and that's only 240$ for a month. But if "available" means to you is it doesn't intrude on other tasks such as their main work I think people will find it attractive. It will be a bonus if they can choose what type of work they want to handle as it will be much easier for them to manage it as a side income.
693  Economy / Economics / Re: Wealth distribution, and tragedy of the commons. on: August 09, 2020, 06:32:57 PM
What do you mean by "spend their money more" since it can mean a lot of ways. Like if they just spend their money in more kinds of investments then only the rich businessmen will benefit from such investment as well as the rich people who decided spending their money. But if you mean by "spend their money more" on raising salaries of their employees or something similar this won't really be beneficial for our economy as what will happen is if people will have a higher average wage then their buying power would just decrease as the supply of money has increased to a lot of people. Even the basic law of supply and demand can fuck up your solution.
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do scams harm Bitcoin's reputation in the mainstream world? on: August 08, 2020, 11:47:26 PM
I thi k we can all agree that it's not the scams that damage the reputation of Bitcoin but how the media relays the news to the public. We all have seen it even the newbies have seen misleading news, clickbaity headlines, as well as wrong information being relayed by these media outlets. It's how they make Bitcoin look bad in fron of the public that damages our reputation and the not illicit activities that revolves around it.
695  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Basic things that you need to know before starting in trading on: August 08, 2020, 10:35:53 PM
It's really doesn’t matter if you know more analysis or less this three things will mostly define success of your trading.

Entry Exit & Stop loss

These 3 things you have mentioned is just the gist of a whole trading plan but at the back of it these 3 requires technical analysis before you can define what will be your entry and exit points as well as your stop loss point as without any kind of analysis you will just be picking a random number just by guessing it is a good entry for your trade. Yeah you made it look simple but you are just confusing members especially the newbies that trading is as simple as you defined but they'll just be risking their money if they plot their entry, exit, and stop losses without any kind of analysis.
696  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-08-03] Hack Forces Travel Company to Pay USD 4.6m in Bitcoin Ransom on: August 08, 2020, 09:28:49 PM
~snip~

Step 1. Travel company should insist that payment should be in bitcoin.

Step 2. Use Coinbase to send the payment for hackers.

Step 3. Inform Coinbase what had occured and request for blockchain analysis.

Not a really good idea especially when it comes to the face of the customers/users of Coinbase knowing that they can backtrack your transaction using them as a wallet payment. This will just look like Coinbase is a more centralized service rather than giving the users the freedom and some kind of privacy for their payments. Yeah it will give you the end result you are looking for but the only thing this will work is similar to those times where Coinbase will receive some kind of court order or subpoena ordering them to do so. But requesting the company directly from a person or company it may make them look bad on their service for the users overall.
697  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-08-03] Hack Forces Travel Company to Pay USD 4.6m in Bitcoin Ransom on: August 07, 2020, 10:36:17 PM
The news indicated that even if CWT had paid the ransom the hackers have managed to stole 2 TB worth of information from the compromised computers containing employee information to security documents. This just shows us when it comes to ransomwares its really not good to give in the demands of the hackers as there is no guarantee that your files are untouched or will be clean after you pay. I'm wondering why these big companies don't have some kind of back up for data when something like this happen with their system since in this case they won't be pushed in a core like this one.
698  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Stable At $11K – Altcoins In Green: The Calm Before The Strorm? on: August 05, 2020, 03:06:09 PM
One thing that worries me about this pump is the only time that the volume is big is only July 26 but after that even if the price was increasing you will see that the volume is decreasing considerably thus making this a bearish market until now and what we are seeing is a bull trap. Let's just be careful because this is one of the indicator that shows a fake breakout. Let's just observe if this will continue as we don't already know that this is a weak bullish pattern without volume.
699  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Putin signed a law on the regulation of cryptocurrencies from 2021 on: August 05, 2020, 02:25:27 PM
Aside from that the law based on the article has no mentions regarding tokens/ICOs as well as mining which the article stated might have separate law/s with both of them.

They decided to focus on the financial aspect, especially the transfer of wealth rather than on mining, probably because they've realized a lot of tokens are not minable and mining is restricted to some coins. As for ICOs, they all fall into "investments" and a lot of this law is focused on investment from the first pages, it comes with a full AML/KYC requirement for all the platforms dealing with Russian customers.

Technically everything in the crypto industry is part of the financial aspect as everything involved cryptocurrencies with monetary value. So the real question is why do they have to separate the laws for ICOs as well as mining? There are 2 possibilities for it for one they might have other plans for it or the other one is they will have harsher rulings or penalties for these types of activities. Either way I think it will follow on the first bill that was signed by Putin.
700  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Protect Your Account on: August 05, 2020, 01:43:43 PM
Yes, the "hide email address from public" flag is on by default (meaning hidden), but I guess people are used to being rather social, and switch it of in many cases (some are business relate, and therefore deliberately conscious). Going through a profile DB I have with 2.481.270 profiles, almost 56k accounts had an associates visible email.

I figure though that BitcoinGirl.Club’s case is not down to the email being visible on the profile (I don’t think it was, and Archieve sites seem to show it as hidden historically, right up to a snapshot from a couple of days ago). It looks more like some malware got installed after following a link.

So this answers my question in his post in the meta section. I don't think most of them unhiding their email is a social move but more of a business move to me, the mistake members do by showing their email is of course their email that they are showing is also their email to their account in BCT which is the wrong move. Showing your BCT account email will only put targets at your back and you will be vulnerable to numerous phishing attempts by doing so. If you have a separate email for business transactions then it would be easier for you to filter out the fraud emails you are receiving.
