321  Economy / Economics / Re: Better Days ahead for the economy of developing countries in Africa on: November 03, 2020, 11:56:09 PM
Holding an office is one thing and doing the job and helping on improving these countries is another. I think we always see this situation when there is a newly elected official winning with all of these hopes and promises about how they can improve their lives but after a few years in the office you will still see that you are still stuck with what you are doing feeling little to no difference. Having a power is good just as long as you do your job on what you really need to do, if these elected officials can really improve these countries then I'll be happy that these people will finally have a the help they need but if these won't change anything this is that kind of news that is hopeless to give hope with.
322  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10-30] Bitcoin transaction fees jump by 570% over 12 days on: November 03, 2020, 11:21:42 PM
So what's the reason why these mining farms temporarily shutdown their operations? Is the article accurate on saying that its because they want to move to another location in order to cut electrical expense? Or are they just guessing? But really the drop in hashrate and at the same time the price of increase in Bitcoin will just make the transaction fees high since a lot of people will be actively moving their Bitcoin in order to take advantage of the  high price and they will be bumping up their fees so they can be prioritized for it. Maybe this is also one of the techniques of the mining farms to get higher pay in times like this one?
323  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and AI on: November 03, 2020, 10:13:09 PM
By how you describe the AI technology this company has it only compiles all the financial data for the analyst and is not doing the analyst for him, basically for a trader it will only save time for what he is looking for but the AI itself won't be doing the buy and sell decisions in the market this kind of technology has been existing even in the past so I don't think it will give any kind of significant edge for any trader. Besides that if we are talking about an AI that does the buying and selling for the investor won't it just cross out the advantage if everyone is using it? It will just basically remove any kind of edge for any user if they are doing the same trades made by an AI.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 03, 2020, 08:55:17 PM
Now lets not go ahead of ourselves that Milan really did improve yes they are on the top of the table right now but if you look at their last 6 matches in the game you will see that Roma is the most strongest opponent they face and it resulted into a draw. After that they fought Inter and even that game was a tough one for them. It's still early in the season and we can't really say that AC Milan really did improve not until they face much better opponents.
They did improved like Inter Milan last year with the appearance of Antonio Conte and Lukaku. However, I agree that it is soon to say Milan is strong enough to win the Scudetto and if they rely too much on Ibra magic, they might get troubles in later phase of this season. Ibra is almost 40 and his ability to avoid injuries or play in good form in all season still a question.

Well we still need to see how they will play out in the rest of the season. Right now they are showing great in the Europa League but tbh they have been handed out an easy group to play with so no new expectations there. I love to see AC Milan rise up to the top again like what other members are posting here but I firmly believe the transfers they have done and the management they have is not the thing you will say that can make things turn around for them. I mean Ibra is getting old and we can't say he will still be there for their future, the midfield they have is not match against other European giants, and the defenders they have are not that notable except for Hernandez.
325  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] - Uniswap google ad scam on: November 03, 2020, 07:03:41 PM
Google now supports service advertisements from the phishing site. This should be a tight security so that no one gets caught in the phishing site.

I am not surprised to see this and in the past many have also found like this the first list is a scam site where ordinary people will of course click the first one because they are sure it is the official site.

Oh never mind we have to be careful in looking at the official link.

From what I have seen I think what they do is they make the website acceptable first in Google's ad placement standards and when their ads are up and running in their search engine this is the time where they change their website and turn it into a phishing website that is why they somehow bypass the security Google is trying to implement. If Google wants to improve on this kind of matter I think the best way to do it is to constantly monitor the changes happening from that link to see if there is something suspicious going on with what they are advertising.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Say Bitcoin is scam on: November 03, 2020, 06:05:37 PM
IMO by the definition of what a "scam" is Bitcoin will never fit it since it's not kind of a a deceptive scheme to fool a person for their money because it in itself has a value made purely by its supply and demand. If you are thinking it will all go down to 0 in some day I doubt it will ever happen as Bitcoin and the crypto industry is still growing and there is no signs that it is slowing down when the government is trying to adapt for it as it is in line with the digital age.
327  Economy / Exchanges / Re: IS YOBIT VMINING A SCAM ? on: November 03, 2020, 03:51:55 PM
I've read some threads about this one and I think the majority will say to you that this is really a scam. Here is the thread where I first saw them offering up the virtual miner, basically they are giving a rate for their "vminer" a 50% return in a month which is really unbelievable for any kind of investment, real investments don't even reach half of those returns in a month realistically speaking. In the thread an article was also posted why their new service is doomed to fail in the long run.
328  Economy / Reputation / Re: The shameful Romanian translation of Bitcoin white paper from Bitcoin.org on: November 03, 2020, 02:08:00 PM
The best solution here is to report this issue on their Github page as I think Bitcoin.org wouldn't want a badly translated Bitcoin whitepaper on their website for the Romanian users. They posted this link at the bottom of all the translations for people who have issues and questions and I think you can use it to report this translation.

PS

@OP if you don't want their names to be seen by others you might want to blur out some things in your "small preview" post.
329  Other / Meta / Re: Why aren't avatar ad clickable? on: November 03, 2020, 10:06:00 AM
now what benefits is the avatar to the companies buying the space if their ad aren't clickable, how do they monitor the success rate of their ad.

I think for projects who also have personalized avatars the idea is if their participants are wearing not only their signature but also there avatars it makes them more noticeable even if the the avatars aren't clickable they still have the whole space of the participant's signature area to be clickable. Also for people who are aware at a forum signature spaces are something that is known to be clickable so I really dohbt that thry would expect avatars to be clicable as well.
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC can reach $ 20000 after PayPal, Venmo accept payments in BTC, ETH? on: November 02, 2020, 11:51:46 PM
What type of world did we became that bitcoin was a currency that was considered a payment option and not it is a currency that payment options use as an investment.

We are finally reaching to a point where satoshi was talking about why bitcoin is important, instead of thinking bitcoin like a thing that you use for sending money, we are finally seeing it as literally money itself. Don't get me wrong that method wasn't wrong neither, I have send and received tons of bitcoin in my time calculating everything in dollar before I do it, but that doesn't change the fact that bitcoin is money itself as well, you can say "10 dollars worth of bitcoin" but you could always say "selling it for 0.0004 bitcoin" as well and this is what paypal will be helping us with as well.

Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System

The title of Bitcoin's whitepaper says it all, Satoshi didn't directly said Bitcoin being a replacement for other fiat currencies but rather a payment solution where there is no middleman involve for their transactions. Aside from that where Bitcoin being viewed more as a investment rather than a currency is because it is in its nature to be one, since it is volatile and there is a big change in demand you can expect the volatility to be taken advantage by a lot of traders and investors which I don't think is a bad idea. People aside from using Bitcoin as a payment has seen it as some kind of hedge for their devaluing currencies or even as a safe haven when it comes to situations similar to this.
331  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mobile wallet for newbies? on: November 02, 2020, 11:17:43 PM
If you are looking for a non-custodial wallet it would be a hard one since even the mobile version of Electrum looks complicated if you will start from a custodial wallet, basically you will have this options and adjustments for the transaction fee. If you really want a wallet for your family for transaction purposes I think custodial wallets are the best thing to go, some custodial wallets also have off-chain transactions where you won't have to pay any fees on sending money to them or vice versa.
332  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Money laundering via BTC on: November 02, 2020, 10:36:26 PM
Bro the government won't be issuing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and compliance with crypto services if people aren't doing illicit activities such as money laundering and tax evasion. If you are asking the "how" they are doing this I think it is pretty straightforward on how they have been using Bitcoin to launder their money one of their processes in making that dirty money is through mixing it for their Bitcoin to be clean. If you are thinking about laundering your dirty money then it is really a bad idea actually there is a recent case where the owner of a tumbling service got arrested because he is helping criminals to clean their money, Larry Harmon the owner of the Helix tumbler got arrested for this.
333  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin the best reserve asset? on: November 02, 2020, 08:13:11 PM
It's important to point out that when they are talking about cash reserves being an investment they are looking for assets that would likely appreciate in the future, if that is what you meant by a reserve asset then I think it is one of the best ones out there. But if you are talking about a reserve asset that will have a stable price then Bitcoin might not fit as a good reserve asset as it is too volatile. Microstrategy here bought Bitcoin as an investment not for their cash reserve to have another stable state, their cash reserve is just extra money lying around where they are hoping for to make more money out of it.
334  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-11-02]Facebook is banning the Bitcoin hashtag on: November 02, 2020, 07:35:19 PM
I am agreeing more to the Redditors pointing out that it is more related to scams happening in Facebook rather than FB being related to Libra and trying to wash their competition away. I mean yes it has the same affect as removing Bitcoin related post but it will also flush out scam related posts here in FB. This might just be temporary until FB finds a good way of filtering out the scams being created daily in their social media websites.
335  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best Rates on: November 02, 2020, 06:26:51 PM
If you are looking for the best rates possible I think you need to look at directly buying and selling your cryptocurrencies to a buyer or seller since in this way you will be removing several fees and commissions that will come out on their services aside from that you'll also remove the rate difference from liquidating your cryptocurrencies to fiat within any service. Direct P2P will be straight to the point, if you like the exchange rate then you can take advantage of it without any additional cost involve.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 02, 2020, 04:14:28 PM
As predicted AC Milan to win against Udinese, it's not in vain that I bet big on AC Milan's victory. Seeing AC Milan's improving performance,
I'm sure AC Milan will be a strong candidate for the Serie A champions this season. Ibrahimovic played superbly in the match, providing one
goal and one assist, consistent play makes AC Milan unbeaten from 6 matches. Hopefully AC Milan's game will remain consistent until the
end of this season.
Another 3 points for AC Milan, another goal from Ibra and AC Milan stays at the first position. Amazing start for AC Milan. I did not remember the last season when AC Milan was strong and stood at the first position in Serie A.

The late goal of Ibra reminds me his goal against Italy in the Euro 2004 match: Sweden and Italy. His Karate skills do help him to score the unbelievable goals.

337  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] - Uniswap google ad scam on: November 02, 2020, 02:25:29 PM
You will see dozens of scam/phishing websites if you search in Google and they suddenly show ads. Based on my own experience and what I am seeing the forum Fake Ledger and Trezor websites sometimes pop in Google's search engine if you search them directly or just by searching the words "hardware wallet". I guess the only solution right now to avoid these things is for people if they do not know the official website is to either search extensively from their official social media websites and articles or to ask people directly whom you trust.
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we stop bitcoin scammers? on: November 01, 2020, 11:52:33 PM
I think the simple answer here is we can't really stop them. Just look around you hundreds of HYIP sites are being created, a lot of Youtube accounts are being hacked and then converted into a fake giveaway site, Fake social media accounts are being created to fool people, and also social media accounts being hacked in order to fool people these things cannot be stopped by a community even if you educated them with all things like phishing emails or sites and what to avoid things like this may just reduce the number of victims but with the crypto industry still growing I don't think it will stop all the scams from luring some victims.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: KYC for bounty hunters on: November 01, 2020, 11:27:09 PM
I guess theymos making the KYC requirement an April's Fool joke basically say that the forum doesn't want any kind of KYC happening in the forum. The forum made the trust system unmoderated for all of the users become the responsible ones in their trade so I think the forum doesn't want to be concerned on matters particularly being affected by their own project. If you think your project is being abused by users then I think the best way to do is to have a responsible campaign manager who will flush out the abusers of the bounty campaign.
340  Economy / Exchanges / Re: After Two Weeks : OKex Withdrawal Remains Suspended on: November 01, 2020, 08:11:31 PM
Is this some kind of smart way of OkEX saying that they were hack and they just don't want their users to panic at the moment? If this is the case I think they are doing a bad job because right now with the Twitter complaints about them not being able to withdraw their money and several news saying worrying things their job of extinguishing the flame is not good. We have seen this in hacked exchanges before were they are really not saying the truth or not saying the whole story, this is the same case I am seeing with OKex.
