361  Economy / Speculation / Re: Retail is here on: March 01, 2024, 04:51:04 AM
I don't think it's retail FOMO, otherwise we would have heard more crypto services down. Last time, more than 4 or 5 services were stopped, there is no positive news on a daily basis to cause all this FOMO, and greed is still at the beginning.
It is related to Coinbase, and I do not rule out that it happened intentionally or unintentionally. Wink Wink
Then who is it then? I'm pretty sure that there's not a lot of whales out there that can crash the servers so that's probably the only logical explanation as who's behind these crashes, people in droves are definitely FOMOing out of proportion and it's the natural instinct of many retail investors anyway, they FOMO the heck out when the price are surging thus driving the prices even higher.

Well, we may not have reached the peak of FOMO, but that there is FOMO and that retail investors are coming in is a fact, just look at the threads saying to invest or asking questions about it, I just answered a couple. We are almost at the ath, after a fairly rapid rise and now the "moon?" "when lambo?" are starting to resonate.

362  Economy / Economics / Re: Beginner questions on: March 01, 2024, 04:40:06 AM
The OP is very green on the subject and I do not predict a good future for him. If you are going to trade $250 and you are asking those questions you are going to lose it all TackleBash.

For starters, do you have a good emergency fund of at least 3 months of expenses saved aside from this? If not start building it and start putting in that $250.

You have to know that no matter how much trading is promoted, 95% of traders or more end up losing their money. For that it is better that you dedicate yourself to investing for the long term, but for that you need patience and better information.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it possible to inherit a gambling debt? on: March 01, 2024, 04:33:47 AM
I don't know if this applies to every country but the process is usually deducting debts to the estate or to the liquidated property that's inherited. If there is no asset to inherit then the creditor has no choice but to say goodbye to the money as he cannot collect from the relatives. Be cautious when some credit companies start pressuring you of a debt they just passed down to you.

That is what happens in any country that has rational laws in this regard, and is not a shithole. People can either accept the inheritance or not, which they usually only do if the assets exceed the debts.

The regulations that apply in my country are, if someone dies and still has debts at the bank, the heirs are obliged to pay off the remaining debts. This is very worrying, especially if the debt is used for gambling.

No matter how much you live in Indonesia you don't figure out the laws in force there, and believe the first conspiracy theory you hear on the street. With a simple google search you could have discovered the truth:

Don't Panic, This Is How to Pay Off A Loan If the Debtor Dies

Quote
According to Indonesian law, debts included in the "inheritance" must be borne by the heirs. However, the remaining loan debt burden is only required to be repaid by the heirs who are willing to receive the inheritance in full.

In other words, as I said above, people only accept the inheritance (and are therefore obliged to pay the debt) if the assets to be inherited exceed the amount to be paid.
364  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: March 01, 2024, 04:27:04 AM
There are a lot of gamblers here, and each casinos are competing for that slice in a pie.

It's not just that. In addition to the gamblers that are on the forum, the signatures that we wear make the casino rise in terms of SEO, and we must also take into account the people who visit the casino without being registered, who are an important part too, and can access the casinos that are advertised here by clicking on the links in the signatures.
365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is rising faster and faster, It is time to Buy Bitcoin ! on: March 01, 2024, 04:18:11 AM
Typical fish thought that will soon be plucked by the whales. The time to buy was $17K, not near highs.

Don't get me wrong. I think now is a good time to buy if it is with a long term perspective, but it is very typical in retail investors who have not bought until now, when it was really cheap and jump on the bandwagon when it is already too obvious the rise, to sell in panic shortly after the first decline.
366  Economy / Speculation / Re: New All Time High Baby! - $68,742.31 on: February 29, 2024, 04:18:53 PM
The truth is that I am surprised by the recent price performance. In the blink of an eye we have been close to the previous ATH, although now there seems to be a small resistance, as it is logical.

I agree with the general sentiment here that $60k last cycle was too fast, too soon, to expect it to hold back then, but this cycle with the ETFs (plural not singular as many were expecting back then) by big name institutions, the price has a lot more heft behind it.

Yes, you never know. So far Bitcoin had not surpassed the previous ATH of the cycle at this point, but we're a step away. Whether it's because of Bitcoin ETFs or whatever, with 11% more upside we can beat the previous ATH and that Bitcoin can do in a couple of days if FOMO breaks out.
367  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: February 29, 2024, 04:09:29 PM
Not all business are the same and they have different budget too.

I am happy to see Metawin here and give me chance to join their signature campaign. If they have an attractive platform, effective marketing strategy, they will make their advertisement very sustainable. Either signature campaign or whatever contest types, they only able to keep it running for a long time if they get good effect and also new users, good money inflow on their platform.

It's early to say how long they will keep their advertisement running as they only started and will need time to evaluate cost and benefit.

I don't have a crystal ball, but I have noticed what generally happens: casinos tend to keep advertising if they see a return on investment, that is, if they see more customers coming into the business. As we are in bull market and we will probably be all year long, I think it is unlikely that casinos that work will reduce their budget or stop investing in advertising. Some of them will, but because there are many casinos and each one is a different case. But in this case I think Metawin will make a lot of money in 2024 and I would expect it to consequently maintain advertising, although I could be wrong, obviously.
368  Other / Meta / Re: Streaming service quality documentary on the BitcoinTalk.org Forum is now out on: February 29, 2024, 04:00:47 PM
I have just seen it and I found it interesting and well structured. It's about the forum that I didn't know about, years before I registered, and although I had some idea from things I've read here, it's a good and entertaining way to figure out the origins of the forum. I had no idea that the first altcoins were born here (I knew about Ethereum and some others) and how important the forum was for the development of the altcoins. When I registered I soon read the word "shicoins" but that was when the shift to social media had already happened.

369  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in a crypto bubble? Is a possible correction coming soon? on: February 29, 2024, 04:43:57 AM
We are not in a bubble as such. What we are in is a clear bull market in which there are obviously ups and downs but the trend is upward. Lately the price had been rising too fast and yesterday's dip is reasonable as a profit taking.

How far do you think the price will go now that it has broken through resistance levels?

The major resistance is at $69K. If we break that one we can go to the moon.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Outcomes of insighting gambling for a source of income. on: February 28, 2024, 05:41:52 AM
To dedicate oneself to betting on EV games - looking for that to be a source of income is to shoot oneself in the foot.

$1000 could be enough to start a successful business but it depends on the kind or the size. The businessman might decide to start an online business instead of renting a physical shop. Some persons might have a business space in their homes which could serve as the business place until the business expands. Some persons might also decide to rent small stalls instead of a big shop.

Of course, $1K is potentially going to have a higher return if invested in a business than betting in a casino against House Edge games. The best thing he could have done is to start out in business, and when it worked for him, with any extra money he had, he could have gone to the casino to entertain himself but not looking for it to be a source of income for him. The best way for a casino to be your source of income is to set up your own casino, be The House yourself.
371  Other / Meta / Re: sembt.com clones entire Bitcointalk topics on: February 28, 2024, 05:32:05 AM
Their user images are probably AI generated.

Only the images? I wouldn't be surprised if at least part of the text is too.

They named me as 2Philip, 1miau as MortonAddison, Bitmover as AllenTennyson, and DdmrDdmr as DonahueChaplin. The one who created that forum might know about Bitcointalk or might be a member of this forum I guess.

Any idea who am I there? I have visited the forum, but as the structure is different, they have not cloned thread by thread this forum, I do not just see myself there.

They cloned Bitcointalk and maybe they are doing it to gain traffic. When they see enough website traffic, they will stop cloning Bitcointalk and sell their site to something else.

Well, I don't know, surely if I had done it I wouldn't sell it when it starts to work. I'm curious, since we already have movies made by AI in which the actors who appear are people who do not exist, and are made without scriptwriters or cameras or anything that is used to make a movie traditionally. Could such a forum be monetized? I mean if apart from the traffic there are also bots generating text with AI.

372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: February 28, 2024, 05:25:44 AM
The problem of the people who bet on these three assumptions is that how do you stop them? I know I shouldn't bet when I feel frustrated, for example, and I don't do it, but there is nothing you can say to someone who does it that will stop them. The same goes for someone who is compulsively gambling to win back what he has lost. The thing is not as easy as writing some rules and knowing that you have to follow them, the problem is the behavior, that many times the person behaves as he/she knows he/she should not be doing.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing on: February 28, 2024, 05:17:33 AM
I ask because he also mentioned that he will never allow a CBDC. I reckon if he is lying about his change of stance on bitcoin he might also be lying about his stance on CBDC. It might imply that he is in support of CBDC.

Donald Trump, currently seeking the Republican presidential nomination, pledged that he would “never allow” a central bank digital currency (CBDC).

Read in full https://www.theblock.co/post/273273/donald-trump-says-hell-never-allow-cbdc-issuance-if-elected

I don't like several things about Trump's personality but overall I prefer his policies to the mummy's. In this particular case too: I prefer a president who says he will not allow CBDCs and expresses a positive attitude to Bitcoin. In general I don't trust politicians and their promises, but if he says this he will surely act better than the one who is already implementing CBDCs.
374  Economy / Economics / Re: Backing Fiat with Bitcoin...A possibility? on: February 27, 2024, 05:15:13 AM
Do you think this is a possibility?

This is one thing that I have commented on in other threads as a future possibility: just as central banks have gold reserves, they could have reserves of Bitcoin, which in practice is an enhanced digital gold. But if it happens will take time and also I think it will take a component that they almost have, which is a high degree of control of Bitcoin by the authorities through regulations and KYC obligation.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it ethical to break your gambling rules on: February 27, 2024, 04:59:01 AM
I find the question a bit of a joke to be honest because it is unethical or unethical to break rules that you yourself impose on your behavior. It is better that you don't do it, of course, because if you have imposed rules on yourself you have done it when you think rationally, and if you skip them it is because your emotional part has taken over you.

I thought that you are breaking casino rule, but it turns out, it is your own rule. To be honest with you, I don't have any rule to begin with, it boils down as to how you are going to manage your bankroll in relation to your loss.

That's my point. I do have rules that I usually abide by, although I'm not your typical casino game player. If you play occasionally and responsibly, it's reasonable that you don't impose rules on yourself.
376  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Technical Analysis Really Work? on: February 27, 2024, 04:50:19 AM
i think Technical analysis & psychological analyze both of most important parts in the crypto trading, because trading is also psychological game, if you can't control your emotion then high possibility to loses everything, psychological analyzing can protect you from greed.

I would say it is even more important than the rational of analysis and charts, and the OP has also pointed this out. What is not often stated in all the marketing of trading is the percentage of intraday traders who make money over the long term. They should be forced to put it big in every trading ad, covert or not. Things like psychology or that stop losses do not always work, are more important than a supposed system that they try to sell you and with which 95% of people or more lose money.
377  Other / Meta / Re: A simpler version of demerits: "dmerits" for every X merits earned on: February 27, 2024, 04:42:36 AM
Why this sudden collective interest for a demerit function?

I don't see why, is it because of the airdroped merits?

No, I'll sum it up for you, it's very simple. OddJobsForBitcoin opened the following thread:

What Sort of Signature is "FUCK Royse777"?

In that he basically made up that someone had tried to hire him to put on that signature. As it usually happens in the Reputation section, whoever opens a thread gets in the eyes of the DTs, who start investigating his story, and in this case decodx discovered with blockchain analysis that he has a lot of alt accounts with which he has joined the same bounties and that he has been involved in accounts selling.

When asked why he had broken the rules joining bounties with his alts, he replied:

For fun. Trust me.

So, when caught red handed, OddJobsForBitcoin opened this shitty thread talking about demerit and how bad some higher ranked members, like decodx, are doing:

Hey Theymos, There Should Be a Demotion Button

BenCodie thought it was a good idea, regardless of the context of where the proposal came from, and from what we see in the voting results, he seems to be the only one.
378  Economy / Gambling / Re: CryptoFreebie.io - For The Players on: February 26, 2024, 04:33:12 AM
Quote
Our plan is not to influence the players decision to discard their current casino accounts. That decision is entirely up to the individual and it is their free will to do so.
Why would you even advertise its ok to create a new account under you? You likely know the ToS of casinos includes 1 account per person, so why mention it's ok to make a new account?

That's what I was thinking. In his answer, he's throwing his hands up in the air about whether alts should be created, as in: "it's something that many people do even though it's forbidden, and we don't tell people to do it, but we don't say it's wrong either.

Another thing that strikes me:

After 16 years of experience in the online gambling sector...

Has anyone heard of them? Because I haven't, and with such a long trajectory it's rare. Although if he talks about 16 years it must be supposedly with other names.

Also, neither this thread nor the website seem very professional.
379  Economy / Gambling / Re: Withdraw ''instant'' isue on Freebitco.in on: February 26, 2024, 04:14:15 AM
Perhaps OP is not aware that instant doesn't necessarily mean that the Bitcoin will be received immediately after pressing the instant withdrawal button...
maybe he did not know that mate and also indeed that he have already His funds because for a week now he have not posted here .

What you two don't know is that the "instant" withdrawal from freebitco.in is advertised as time taken to process less than 15 minutes. And when it works well indeed they send you the transaction in less than 15 minutes. But you see that sometimes this is not the case, as it happened to the OP and it happened to me.

What I do believe is that by now he will have received his money. As I mentioned the "instant" withdrawal once took me almost 24 hours to arrive.
380  Other / Meta / Re: Hey Theymos, There Should Be a Demotion Button on: February 26, 2024, 04:04:13 AM
That doesn't make sense, decodx created his account after the introduction of the Merit system, and earned all his Merit by himself.

What makes no sense is to presuppose veracity to what the OP says, and what you say is only part of it. He says:

This could be due to the fact that they were promoted before the introduction of the merit system or they simply bought a high-ranked account to spew rubbish on the forum.

From someone who has been caught breaking the rules, such as having joined campaigns with his alts and says this:

I just want to know why you chose to cheat on the review campaigns if you have other jobs and businesses?
For fun. Trust me.

I wouldn't presume much veracity in anything. This thread and the other's responses are full of excuses of a little kid who has been caught red handed and doesn't know how to get out of the situation.
