Account farmer/spammer
What exactly classifies the user as a spammer? Just a lot of short/useless posts to boost post count/activity? Yes. I don't care if someone has multiple accounts, and encourage it if you need it to express yourself without retribution, or whatever reason you have. I have far more important things to worry about/do, it's none of my business really. Spamming (in this case, ~70 accounts, almost all with worthless posts) makes it my business. Dear Admin, Why my account got banned ? is this a perma bann? as i dont see the duration of the bann here, wondering what is the clasification that will got you a perma bann and a 14 days bann It won't expire automatically, though I may unban his main account at a later date. There's no particular line to cross that will lead to a permaban instead of temporary, depends on my assessment of various factors. I don't want to stop people from participating here, that isn't good. I'll try like hell to stop the spam though.

PLEASE give me another chance and I promise I will "slow my roll" and respect the rules of the forum.
Then prove it by respecting the ban that you evaded, which led to your permaban. Go away for at least 30 days, then come back and ask. Until then it's just words.

He constantly spams his faucet sites, and spams other faucet threads with links to his. Was banned 3 times, then started evading his ban.

I've removed my negative feedback for yussuf since they've come to an agreement so they can resolve it, and replaced it with appropriate feedback for marcotheminer.

There are 2 possible situations here (currently I am thinking this is the 1. situation):
1. Zeki is the original account owner. Zeki took out a loan (using a proxy) and shortly after claimed the account was hacked in the aim of getting the account back. By getting the account back Zeki would profit from the loan which he would not repay, claiming the 'hacker' took out the loan. Zeki will (might?) realise that his scheme failed and will have to repay the loan to get the account back.
2. Zeki is the original account owner. The account has indeed hacked and a loan was taken out. The loan won't be paid back. Zeki will have to pay the loan back on the hacker's behalf to get the account back.
In both situations I am left holding the account until the loan is paid back or collateral is sold.
There's another possible scenario, you are the one who stole the account or you're in league with him/them. The saying "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" comes to mind. I don't see it as likely, but the more this pattern continues with you one has to wonder.

Too late now, you made a mistake right after you registered.

Like I said above I have it on good authority that he is SellingHBOGo
Indeed he is, good catch. A significant number of the recent posts about default trust are scammer alts, I even have reason to suspect one a while back was an alt of TF, though I can't confirm it beyond a reasonable doubt.
|
|
|
It's pretty obvious he's asking why scammers (or people with negative trust scores) aren't banned.

Thanks for the reminder. Had decided to wait and see if he was really going to stop and respect it.

No you didn't, you reported a pm where he said he received that pm.
The only thing that verifies is that he did send you a pm saying he received a pm.
|
|
|
I know this is resolved already but just for future reference, a much easier and quicker way of doing this is to report the pm, by default reported pm's go to us and global mods. You can choose who it goes to with the drop down box if there's someone in particular you want to work with.

Unless your name is Dave, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
It's a bot.
If your name is Dave, then stay away from the airlocks.

That's not a new mod, it's a separate account for an existing mod. It's not typical, but somewhat unique circumstances.

That thread is actually about me, not mprep.

Yeah most of the reports were coming from marketplace so made sense to add a dedicated moderator or two there.
Most of the reports will probably be old stuff that nobody acted on for whatever reason. Not necessarily a bad report but probably not really worth acting on, but sometimes reports get drowned out in the alt currency reports (oh my god this guy said xcoin I'm invested in sucks ban him plox).
|
|
|
Whether the reason for a report is important or not really depends on your perspective.
Some see it as a good report because it was brought to their attention and they were able to act on it, and the actual reason is irrelevant.
When you are looking at reports in the context of it possibly being a factor in someone being made a moderator down the road, the reason can be as important as the report itself.
