BFL must be getting desperate to resort to bribery.
1142  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Obligatory I'm not dead or running post on: March 30, 2014, 10:31:42 AM
The price of BTC has basically halved since he was supposed to release the raffle escrow. If I was a winner I'd be extremely pissed at this stage.

Did he ever set-up a dead man switch or something similar?
Its all in hand of admin what he want to do with this now too much time and no reply from him is just going in this way he is not in this world

If you have a problem with John in a moderator capacity, then go to admins. He was demoted a while back.

If you have a problem with John regarding his escrows, that doesn't really have anything to do with the forum. This thread is also a better fit in service discussion since it's about his escrows, not meta.
1143  Other / Meta / Re: I'm sorry, but Inaba has just gone too far... on: March 30, 2014, 06:56:32 AM
There's not enough time in the world to verify every single feedback for all users. If we do it for you, then we have to do it for everyone, then we might as well be back to handing out scammer tags and figuring out who's "guilty" or not.

1144  Other / Meta / Ignoring or blocking pm's on: March 29, 2014, 08:59:48 AM
This is asked/reported often, so to block users from pm'ing you, go to profile, personal message options. You can add names there, or * to block all pm's. This is a separate function from ignoring a user's posts, one doesn't affect the other.

I've banned quite a few, they just reregister, pay their little fee to bypass the ip ban, and come right back. In theory it works because it increases, but that's dependent on being banned repeatedly, and I got better shit to do than ban the same guy for the same stuff over and over. Particularly when there's hundreds more just like him.
1147  Other / Meta / Re: How does asking about John K consitute service discussion ? on: March 28, 2014, 03:54:32 AM
He ran an escrow service, so service discussion. This isn't hard.
1148  Other / Meta / Re: Possible spambots "hey, i am fresh here" on: March 26, 2014, 04:59:55 PM
Yeah, only reason I noticed was because...well never mind I'm sure they're reading threads like these.
1149  Other / Meta / Re: Possible spambots "hey, i am fresh here" on: March 26, 2014, 04:45:59 PM
They've adapted, now they spam the alt currencies subforums. That's a good thing I guess, who cares about that board Cool.
1150  Other / Meta / Re: Unban Request (Since Theymos doesn't reply to appeal emails) on: March 26, 2014, 04:25:39 PM
I know it won't cause you and all your accounts are banned. Screw off spammer.

Lemme guess,

You don't have a soft spot for two month old newbies that cross post spam and then bump the hell out of said spam?

~BCX~

Indeed. The whole playing dumb schtick is really old too. Just once I'd love to see one of these posts where the OP actually owns up to what they did upfront.
1151  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Discussion about RitzGrandCasino on: March 26, 2014, 04:08:46 PM

Feedback doesn't really matter if they're not on the trusted list. People will likely just ignore feedback if it's left for silly things and isn't sourced.

You are missing the point.

I acquired my first negative feedback because of nothing to do with trading or scamming people. It was because someone didn't like that I 'defended' Ponzi site operators. In actual fact I have a very long and lengthy article pinned to the Gambling page to caution people about scams. At the same time, I'm open to the idea that some Ponzi sites can exist that reward everyone as long as the players are all aware how the game works. If all donators know how the money pays out, and agree that it is okay, it's not a scam. A scam is when the new money is unaware of the idea they are paying the old money.

So because I chose to allow people to read the facts and decide on their own, I must be pro-Ponzi and must be a scammer.

Then we have the same moron threatening to leave negative trust because of people who are spamming the same content.

It's disturbing when someone takes it upon themselves to target your trust based on the fact you don't agree with them and then because you are spamming (which wasn't me by the way). What if tomorrow I decided I wanted to target people who were pro-casinos and said they encouraged scamming. Then I went and flooded every casino thread with large big red 'SCAM' letters.

OF course logic like this falls on deaf ears. Because I am not a sheeple and because I believe investors can make their own decisions I must be labeled as untrustable.

So I disagree... feedback DOES matter to me, in the sense that it's being misused as a weapon.

Look at my feedback page if you want a laugh. Even got bad feedback because apparently I moved someone's thread to off topic, and he never even tried to talk to me about it.
1152  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: RitzGrandCasino is not provably fair. on: March 26, 2014, 03:48:27 PM
I've seen almost daily new threads or bumps from this guy. Or the threads appear new because they are self moderated and he removes all comments? I think this guy should be suspended from posting for a while and we create a general thread about the site that is not self moderated.

I've seen several complaints along these lines, and looked back through the last 20 pages and only found 3 threads created by him, is there more I'm missing or what? I mean locking an old thread to make a new one is okay, as long as it isn't excessive. I think people are just getting confused because he deletes the old bump and reposts it, which is okay (and encouraged, do you really want to read 10 replies in a row of BUMP?) as long as it isn't an early bump (24 hours).

Can you please update the title of this thread to something like "Official Discussion about Ritz Grand Casino" and we make this thread stay instead of all the new ones he is posting and bumping? Otherwise I will try to create an "official discussion" of this casino so that he's not allowed to create more threads.

Yeah, I'm not going to stop someone from making a thread about his website just because you make one, don't be ridiculous.
1153  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin 2.0 on: March 26, 2014, 03:30:15 PM
It's even funnier when knowing this thread was originally in Bitcoin Discussion. I suspect the OP just doesn't get it and thinks all his threads belong there.
1154  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Is Property Not Currency on: March 26, 2014, 02:53:00 PM
this is all great and fine with everyones examples of 1 BTC...but what about the other 99% of us who mine like .1/.2/.3  btc/day for example.

We're now supposed to keep track on every fraction of BTC we receive as well as the current price we receive that at? that's almost impossible.

Look at your receiving address(es) that you use for mining on blockchain.info.   It will show all of the time and amounts of received btc.   I'm pretty sure that the blockchain.info api has a function to show what it was worth at the time of the transaction, since my android blockchain wallet will tell me the "now" and "then" values in USD on each transaction.

Not impossible if you have a computer connected to the internet and your receiving address(es).

So what happens when you sell? You have accumulated coins over the months, but how do you know which particular coins you are selling? Maybe you're selling 5% of the coins you mined at $600, 2% of the coins mined at $630, 6% of the coins you mined at $510

Do you see where I'm going with this?

I have an accountant who used to work for the IRS doing my taxes, and she said to use a FIFO type system. First in, first out. It's not as complicated as some of you are making it out to be.

That was before this ruling though, we haven't talked in depth about the tax situation since this, though she did give me a heads up on the IRS statement.

Ritual sacrifice.
1156  Other / Meta / Re: Image proxy broke :( on: March 26, 2014, 03:56:23 AM
I don't really get why we need it at all though, surely it just increases the bandwidth required on here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=343912.0
To improve privacy and eliminate mixed content warnings...

I'm assuming that's referring to people leaving geotagging data in, then using an image server that doesn't strip it. What does the second part mean?

Also tracking pixels, to log users ip addresses.

Frozen bit:  A new take on cold storage. Your coins are stored offline independently from others, meaning your coins are always secure.

 Link to Our Site: FrozenBit.io

Ever since I first reading about bitcoin in 2011 I've been obsessed with the possibilities of this. Just how much things can change, how much this would be for the better. Until recently.

Well, hello everyone. Over the last month after the gox (scam) hack, me and a team of developers have been masterfully crafting a solution to what happened at gox. We feel we've adequately found a solution. We've found a way to securely store coins OFFLINE without human error or intervention in the process getting in the way or compromising security. We've done it in a way that the private keys are neither stored client side or in the database, but offline in a separate server that their located in. (Protected by a PGP key)

Now you're probably thinking this is too good to be true? Well, I can tell you we've crafted the work around for this and found a way to mix security with accessibility. So lets review what the team of this wonderful bitcoin project has done. Use this to form your own conclusion on whether or not this is the most secure bitcoin wallet in the world.

Our main feature is, We've made it so EVERY USER GETS THEIR OWN COLD ADDRESS!

Our site will feature the following features:

1.) Instant Txt message alerts for every transactions.
2.) 2FA Authentication
3.) Individual Wallets
4.) In depth coin management
5.) 24/7 support
6.) Algorithmically calculated fees.

Now their is a downfall for not hosting stuff online. What we gain in security is changed for a lapse. The lapse is someone from our team has to manually "push" a withdrawal request. These requests will require you to verify by a pin sent to your phone that you did in fact do this withdrawal. Luckily someone is standing by to process this withdrawal.

Now guys, I know, let me repeat: I know, you don't believe me. That this isn't real, that it's a scam for bitcoins. I have no validation on your forum and I'm not going to insult your keen sense of ass hattery. This really is a service we are starting. Right now, we have back end developed, a VPS secured for blockchain confirmations, paying someone for graphics and an HTML coder. Those are all expenses coming right out of my pocket. I'm asking you to lend some assistance, I have listed some things down below I can offer. Costs add up quickly and I fear we may run out of funds, halting the project.

If you don't feel comfortable donating or need something resolved PM me, I can talk via skype. I'm sure you have questions, post them here or request my skype on the forum below.

I have more photos of the site being developed if you wish to see them.

 FAQ

Question: Why should we trust a third party like yours to hold our coins?

Answer: Now to address why, but first lets put this into perspective. Most people already use webwallets, your trusting those to hold your coins and their completely unsafe. Now for our response, It's not just the security we offer. It's also In the form of tools to manage coins, charting, planning and support we offer clients. You are a knowledgeable bitcoin user, you know the risk and take steps to stop that. Some people do things their own way which could put them at risk, where here to make that risk 0.
We proceed with the following goals :Prevent waste, and make it as easy to use as a webwallet. We're here to make the mix between functionality, security and ease of use.
