Is he still holding forums BTC? Anybody know the privatekey besides him? He must told somebody if he has mortal ill.

If he did tell anyone (like whoever logged into his account), he didn't publicize it so there's no pressure for them to do the right thing.

1082  Other / Meta / Re: Sorry Phinnaeus Gage, you are banned from using this forum! Trolling on: April 26, 2014, 02:26:16 PM
It's 7 days. I could care less who he calls a scammer but the off topic nonsense and trolling is excessive, has been for a while.

And calling something a scam doesn't make one immune to moderation. And davout had nothing to do with it.

Is trolling the correct word or is it spamming? I'll admit to spamming AMT hard, if fact that was I was I doing prior to getting spam - posting heavily in their self-moderated thread, thus deserving my punishment.

Trolling is a pretty general term, you were trolling by spamming, so either is accurate. It's splitting hairs though.

Welcome to Simple Machines Forum!

We hope you enjoy using your forum.  If you have any problems, please feel free to ask us for assistance.

Thanks!
Simple Machines

The first 20 posts or so were testing and setting up configurations. First real thread was https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5

You can replace the 5 with 6, 7, 8, etc to see more. 1,2, and 4 were configuration stuff in the staff forum. 3 was permanently deleted, it was probably a test thread but no real way to know.
1084  Other / Meta / Re: End of newbie restrictions; ban changes on: April 23, 2014, 01:11:42 PM
You shouldn't, that's ban evasion, which only make things worse for you.
1085  Other / Meta / Re: Why was user MadCow banned? He did not organise any altcoin giveaway!! on: April 23, 2014, 06:04:45 AM
Doesn't really matter how long ago it was made, one doesn't get a pass just because we don't catch it within a set amount of time.

Looks like MadCow started his NEX 'mock' thread a full week before altcoin giveaways were banned.

The ME.TOO thread was posted on 19 January. theymos post below was on 27 January.

Though hadn't noticed this, still not too pleased with the 3 months of spam that resulted from it, he should have dealt with it himself, but I'll let it go.
1086  Other / Meta / Re: Why was user MadCow banned? He did not organise any altcoin giveaway!! on: April 23, 2014, 02:42:29 AM
Don't confuse "unable to back up my charge", with won't. I don't know you, don't care what you think, and certainly don't need to prove myself or my actions to you. But just so you'll stop bumping this stupid thread.

...
Please leave a message here if you want a part of the 4 Billion coins that will be issued! That's right there will be 4 billion of ME.TOO instead of 1 Billion. That's because we think NXT is like gold which can be used in valuable transactions meanwhile ME.TOO is like silver and can be used in everyday.

There is no cost to acquire coins, only your interest would suffice and remember for your interest you can get four times the amount of NXT or NEX you can get.

...
So to summarise, if you're 'interested' in NEM, then we're assuming you're 'interested in ME.TOO.

...

The thread is nothing but pages of "interested" spam, of which much has been deleted.

I've only seen one person consistently misspell dissonance as disadence, and the ranting style is familiar. m3sSh3aD (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=34577), who's been banned, plus his various alts.
1088  Other / Meta / Re: Can someone please tell me why did I get banned on: April 21, 2014, 08:40:06 AM
I warned you yesterday about ban evasion not being kosher, you chose to ignore it and continue posting as usual.

It isn't the addresses specifically that's the problem, that isn't why the original thread was locked. The root of the problem is that people were required to post in order to "apply". You should not be giving any incentives to people to post, addresses or not. I'm locking this thread as well, but I won't ban anyone for it. If you are going to remake the thread, make it self moderated and clean up the garbage yourself, I'm not going to waste my time doing it. And remember, no incentives to post, no posting to "apply", no post here for x, whatever.

He's lying to you.

Ok, stickied.

Paid sig spammer, either doesn't bother reading threads he's replying to (likely since he seems to post every minute or two on average), or repeats posts just to increase his post count. Not something easily seen just by looking at one's post history.

as I said, you just hate me because I have an ad in my signature

admit you wouldn't ban me if there was no ad

You wouldn't have gotten banned if there was no ad, since you wouldn't be posting redundant posts for no reason other than to increase your post count, so you're partially correct.

1094  Other / Meta / Re: Why is the moderation so lame? on: April 20, 2014, 02:51:33 PM
There is a limit. Personal attacks would fall under off topic, the offensive part isn't the problem.
Being offensive toward a mod is though?

No.
1095  Other / Meta / Re: Why is the moderation so lame? on: April 20, 2014, 02:43:14 PM
Being offensive isn't against the rules.

And dude, you're starting an IPO, you're going to have detractors, some won't be very nice about it. Reacting the way you are is just suspicious as hell. But yes leaving is probably your best option, you need to develop some thicker skin.
This is one of the weak points of the moderation.
Yeah being offensive is not against the rules, but there needs to be a limit. Being a little offensive okay, but attacking one multiple times in a thread is definitely not okay.

It's more a limitation of SMF, not an arbitrary decision.
1098  Other / Meta / Re: Bring back the newbie jail on: April 18, 2014, 08:16:15 PM
There have been changes, there are more moderators in general and also moderators who can moderate all newbies, regardless of the board they post in, as opposed to moderators only controlling a specific board.
1099  Other / Meta / Re: Transfer thread ownership? on: April 18, 2014, 08:05:06 PM
Yes it's possible for admins to do this, pm theymos. To increase the chance of a response keep it short and to the point, and make sure you clarify that you are the current OP (he's not going to do it without the OP's permission).

Edit : Beaten by theymos, who woulda thought  Tongue.
