361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: June 18, 2018, 03:52:41 PM
as fast we got +20  % as fast we just lost it.
I think we just witnessed the rise & fall of Ethereum Classic in just two days  Roll Eyes

I was expecting more volume and a sustained price increase after the listing on Coinbase but it seems it was more of a pump & dump than anything else.

god it's not a pump and dump...it was just added at the worst possible time in relation to the overall market.

even now its recovered back to 220k sats, where it initially pumped to

probably the same type of price action would have occurred if they added xrp, or zec
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can someone specialist on cryptocurrency trading? on: June 12, 2018, 08:40:04 PM
I want to become a trader of cryptocurrency market. What steps need to follow.

Well you should learn some Technical Analysis (TA) to start, even though I feel like most of it is just educated guesses.

You should be able to research and understand what's going on with coins as far as development, community, block rewards/mining and adoption. Those are by far the most important factors in my opinion.

TA is all bullshit in crypto if you don't understand the fundamentals of a coin.

Learn how to use good stop losses and target exits.

But honestly dude, crypto is so hard to trade, it's way easier and more profitable to just buy and hold rather than time these wild markets.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: June 12, 2018, 08:26:14 PM
I wouldn't expect a whole lot more out of this pump, this addition is literally THE WORST timing ever! As I type BTC just keeps dumping and dragging the entire market with it.

6500 and 6k do seem like pretty crucial levels though, if 6k breaks then maybe we could see BTC below 5k like alot are saying.....dang how inflated 20k was wow Undecided
365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 12, 2018, 08:11:58 PM
2 year, low volume, uninteresting, depressing, boring bear market here we come
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: June 12, 2018, 04:37:36 PM
Hello everybody. Yes, the answer is very simple, there is a periodic correction of the market. This applies to all coins on the market. I wish success to all.

The price of this project is bellow June 2017, can someone elaborate why this happens? It seems to be a solid project.

Um no , Factom is taking a much deeper dive , lost 50% in a month , but why? I thought this was one of the more solid ones , something happen?

It is one of the solid ones, nothing bad happening, actually good things on the development side.

If you haven't noticed FCT isnt the only coin down 50% (in usd) in a month...the entire market is way down.

You shouldn't look at price in USD, look at price in BTC for factom
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOBYTE [GBX] - Masternodes, PoW, Secure, ASIC Resistance, & Decentralized on: June 12, 2018, 04:22:47 PM
Hi, I have a technical question.
Before this update I had 2 masternodes and everything worked fine.
Now the update has been completed. I updated the mastenodes on the VPS, updated my wallet, setup third masternode and I had a problem. In the wallet the status "watchdog_expired" always hangs, and on the site https://masternodes.gobyte.network/ the status is "inactivated" but all ports are "open". Help please an example of the correct filling of files gobyte.conf and masternode.conf for several masternodes. Well, and advice that may not be so configured. Thanks in advance!

make sure you are on version GoByte v0.12.2.3 0cdec49 on both your locals and on VPS

then if you still have the watchdog_expired that means you need to install and configure sentinel, but you will apparently still receive rewards even if you dont have sentinel updated

best thing is to come to discord and get live help, been a lot of people having issues lately

368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: June 12, 2018, 03:45:10 PM
the crypto-currency sub reddit is comical right now, on the ETC listing thread there is nothing but newbs crying and raging because ETC got listed saying stuff like "ohh this is just a shit fork bla blah" clueless to the facts of how ETC came to be.....and just butthurt that their erc20 or xrp didn't get listed..

man people in crypto sometimes, it's priceless really
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: June 12, 2018, 03:22:23 PM
I said this sooo many times in this thread and the callisto thread, I knew they would list it before anything else....god but the timing is just soooooo bad.

This doom and gloom bear market only yields a 20% gain, and most people are probably just like ..."meh" about the news...sheezuz yall know if they listed ripple 4 months ago it would have popped off for like 150%.

After holding this for 7 months in anticipation of this exact news and seeing the reaction, it hurts.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: June 11, 2018, 09:17:15 PM
Coach Popovich is set to lure Lebron James. Now that is something better than Rockets. Last Finals proves that in order to beat a superteam and win a ring. You should also form a superteam that is also consistent in scoring and good in defense. If James leaves East, there's no way East can get a ring.
If Coach Pop will get Lebron in the next season then their lineup will be stronger. Lebron, Kawhi, Aldridge. They need a better playmaker if they will get Lebron.

Lets wait where will Lebron land. I think he will be the highest paid player next season like the previous season.

I was thinking about san antonio too, I would love to see him play for Pop and aldridge but i just don't think it will happen.

If I had to put money on it I would say that he STAYS in cleveland...but we will see. I think his family is the biggest factor, he is also 33, he is getting old....he may just retire...who knows.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin back to $500 is likeley on: June 11, 2018, 09:13:59 PM
It looks like bitcoin will have a very strong dip and be back under 1k.  My prediction is telling me it will fall to around the 500 dollar range within a month.

372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tezos: A Self-Amending Crypto-Ledger on: June 11, 2018, 09:12:18 PM
Still in pre-launch on CMC  Sad

But dang price of those IOU's are getting up there, 64k sats pretty nice....bet they will dump when main-net finally gets launched though...unfortunately for Tezos they will finally launch in the bearest of times....imagine if everything would have went as planned and all the Tezos investors wouldnt have missed out on the late bull run of 2017...

hate to stir the fire but i would be pissed if i was a tezos investors....sorry
373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin [BTC] Price Falls Amidst Bear Market on: June 11, 2018, 07:10:38 PM
It's drastic in the short term of course and it's tough to stay optimistic in these times....but actually we have had ALOT of really good news this year.

The next bull rally could make this last one look tiny.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future prospect of cryptocurrency? on: June 11, 2018, 07:07:28 PM
Really depends on what your skills and strengths are, if you are a developer than it could be the best decision you ever make.

I would say overall it's an ambitious choice and could be very rewarding if you find yourself in a company that succeeds, but nobody really knows where crypto will go and most startups unfortunately fail.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best prediction way of crypto market on: June 08, 2018, 08:56:51 PM
Well one thing you can do is follow some upcoming events such as forks, airdrops or upgrades/updates. Websites like coincalendar.com can help you with that.

It's not always guaranteed that the price will reflect changes in a coin/community, but take halvings for example, these MOST of the time seem to have an effect on price. When supply shrinks it effects supply and demand. Just my opinion.

Good luck
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, Ripple and Their Regulatory Capture Advantage Over the Competition on: June 08, 2018, 02:46:04 PM
I tried to talk about this in the FJ Discord but there was a lack of responses.  I might as well bring it here and see what you guys think and gather opinions.

I know the research is lacking but I'll update the thread as soon as I get all the facts straight, like 'who exactly went to the SEC and represented Ethereum and Ripple'.  I heard Andersen Horowitz was there (that true?).  If he was, then more questions...  Which crypto (let's call both crypto for simplicity's sake, I know the issue about XRP) was he representing?  ETH or XRP?

Anyway read below.  What do you guys think?

Quote
So the SEC just hired another advisor for crypto...  And Ripple hired a former SEC director to make a case that XRP isn't a security.  I think something's up.  This could be regulatory capture at its best with those people (maybe) talking behind the scenes.

I think Ethereum could be part of it too.  Remember the news about a closed door SEC hearing on Ethereum and Ripple last month?  ETH and Ripple reps could be shilling their warez to the regulators...  Again regulatory capture if the SEC starts favoring some ICO's (and other privately funded projects) over the rest.  That means bad news for ADA, EOS, etc...

I just think it will be hard for the SEC to classify any of the tokens that have already ICO'd as a security, they are more likely to say "well, at one time it was a security, but now it isn't" because of this argument that the coins are now "decentralized". If ETH and XRP can win that argument than any token/project could probably follow suit.

Now as far as other tokens that claim to pay dividends like TENX, that may be a different story.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀[ANN] POLIS | Masternode | Lucky-POW | Governance | Bounty | Community Power on: June 08, 2018, 02:39:22 PM
was only a matter of time before support around 60k broke, some pretty big red candles in the past few days...

seems like any masternode coin is just susceptible to these types of dumps, hard to keep support when the entire alt market just keeps plummeting
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto market is drowning from tokens. on: June 07, 2018, 07:15:33 PM
Nothing really we can do about it, people want to create tokens...let them...whether or not it will have any value or not is up to the market.

I think there should be some kind of naming standard or ticker registrar, something to keep someone from buying something they don't want to buy. For example the bitconnect (BCC) vs Bitcoin cash (also BCC) was confusing for a lot of people. GBX (gobyte) has another issue with some gibraltor exchange token (also GBX).

But at the end of the day its up to the investor to do their research.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MARKS] Incentivize Content Creators & Build a Reputation Value Framework on: June 07, 2018, 04:47:22 PM
Good to see this project is still alive and rolling, holding a market on polo will be crucial...too bad they disabled the chatbox though. To me that was one of the best ways for bitmark to be seen and utilized.

You guys know if they will ever bring it back?

380  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-06]Coinbase Acquires Investment Firms to Offer Regulated Crypto Securities on: June 07, 2018, 03:43:56 PM
It's pretty big, there has been alot of good news lately and we are really starting to see the stage be set for the OPPORTUNITY of institutions to add crypto to their portfolio as an asset class.

Custody is a big issue that is also being addressed, the biggest question is will these institutions get into the game when they have all the tools and resources to do so?

I think that when a couple do jump in we could see FOMO from other institutions and maybe really start to see the type of market cap numbers that people have been forecasting all this year.
