361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin on: December 01, 2020, 11:13:29 PM
I told this a lot of times since I am living in a province where people don't know about bitcoin. People may know it but it is either they look at it as a scam or they don't have any idea how to use it and don't want to be a part of it. There are some that approached me not because I am using it but because people knew I am earning from it.
362  Economy / Economics / Re: 2021 not Looking good on: December 01, 2020, 10:23:16 PM
every year someone who makes these predictions comes out and manipulates people. nobody knows what will happen in the markets.

Well, not all of them though. Most of them don't just make predictions based on something because for me that would be just their assumption which is harder to believe since these assumptions have no proof. For me, it is not to manipulate the people but to warn or inform them of what may happen in the near future. The market is volatile so we never know what might happen that is why there are some predictions that we need to account for.
363  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic did push the world towards a more digital age. on: December 01, 2020, 02:56:58 PM
Many people spend their days safely using crypto although the world is suffering from the epidemic crypto is moving at its prescribed speed. The use of crypto is turning the world digital. The use of crypto for epidemic prevention is predominant many countries are proving the legitimacy of crypto which will make the crypto world digital even in the midst of an epidemic. They are improving with the advancement of technology.
the use of cryptocurrency to prevent the spread of cryptocurrency I think that can only happen if cryptocurrency is used to make transactions that can replace paper currency and using bitcoin or altcoin with a payment method using barcode scanning can potentially stop the spread of this virus.

I don't think you should even think about crypto currencies when talking about this. Don't forget that we still have ATM cards that people would still use even in this situation. Fiat is still used, what is the safest way to pay right now? There are a lot of online transactions happening and is because of the online wallets available like Paypal, in our country we have Gcash, Coins.ph, Paymaya, and many more.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Gamblers! What is your excuse to avoid a game with 0% House Edge? on: November 30, 2020, 11:15:40 PM
Well, it is a 0% House Edge, who would say no to that? Right? It is just that there are a lot of online casinos out there that are lying that is why you would stick to casinos which you are used to go to or visit. Another reason is just I am in the mood to play the games that they offer since there are a lot of times that I play other games as well like Poker, Dice, and sometimes betting on cockfighting.
365  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin profit Christmas gifts. on: November 30, 2020, 02:03:05 PM
Hey guys, what presents will you buy for Christmas from your bitcoin profit?

Another mbtcs, I guess? Present to myself for doing my best and surviving the year even though it is so hard and it is so annoying quarantined in a room for months. The price will be higher in the next few months especially next year so I will keep on holding and just wait for a great time to buy and reinvest, looking forward to next year.
366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If the banksters and governments held 90% of the Bitcoin supply, what now? on: November 30, 2020, 11:37:38 AM
If this will be their plan, I think we should take advantage of what we can while in the process. With a lot of Bitcoins in other people, they would be having a hard time controlling the price. And if that would be really their plan, the price of bitcoin would surely go up since they will be buying them unless they convince most of those companies that hold bitcoin to do that.
367  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Crypto live forever or die? on: November 24, 2020, 11:56:38 PM
I think it will live forever if that is what you wanted to hear but we don't know which one will live for years and years. The term will forever be etched in history and with a lot of people who support it and the probable users and uses of it in the near future is the more reasons that it will be there for a very long time. This is the future of online transactions.

369  Economy / Economics / Re: Jobless for 10 years still doing great because Jobs market is a joke on: November 22, 2020, 11:54:00 PM
We have our own achievements and the paths we wanted in life, I think it would be great doing great being unemployed but that might not be a end goal for some people. They wanted lifelong careers, they have these goals in life and these degrees. It is great for you guys to in that position but lets appreciate those people doing jobs that is essential to us and the country.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers lose more money than win. on: November 22, 2020, 10:56:01 PM
If some of the gamblers are here only for fun and entertainment that means, this type of gambler is willing to take risk and can afford to lose, it doesn't matter for if He win or lose. But if you are here in the gambling to earn a lot, you need to have a good plan or strategy to beat the beat the house edge something like that based on my experienced.

Taking down the house is harder than that. Plan and strategy might not be enough, you should also have that skills amd knowledge that you will need. Also, they have these strategies too for those people that is having a great profit. Another thing is that you will never be able to do that in a day unless you're betting millions which don't ensure your win every bet.
371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost more in the process to recover ? on: November 22, 2020, 09:44:25 PM
Well, that is the point of this thread. They are always thinking that gambling more could lead them to a better future, for better wins and better profits although it is not that easy and it is not the results they are getting in the end. It is like quicksand, to be honest, the more you move, the more you struggle, the more you will be falling into it.
This is a good analogy!

Thank you for that.

3. "Lighten the load" means don't even read gambling related articles or watch gambling related movies.

This could also mean that you need to lessen the bets you are making. Baby steps as they always say.

4. "Grab on to something" means find something else to be entertained with instead of gambling.

This is the most important to gamblers that wanted to stop their addiction. Grabbing on to someone for me means finding that will, that main reason why you need to stop gambling. This will be the root of your desperation to stop gambling.

5. I can't come up with an analogy to "Lean back and wiggle your feet". Smiley

I think that just means that you need to avoid doing bets, try to avoid it as much as you can and the wiggle part can also mean do something or other things like maybe bonding with your family or entertaining yourself with other things, not just gambling.

6. "Call for help" means tell your closest friends you want to fight your gambling addiction. They will help you.

So true, there are a lot of professionals out there that will push you to your limit to stop addiction. But remember that at the end of the day, it is still that thing you grab on to will make you stop gambling. You should never let that go.
372  Economy / Economics / Re: people stop complain about economy and ccovid on: November 22, 2020, 02:07:55 PM
it is actually not good if always complain and blame the situation. but with us blaming something, from there we will know what caused the problem so that when we want to talk about a solution, it will easily be obtained. the point is not only complaining but also solutions and realization

As it might result to positive things, it could also result to  the opposite of it. Complain is usually a self-centered request rather than a selfless one. Request if the better one but these days, people takes it as a complain. This pandemic hit us hard, but we should be stronger since it is on us to be better. We can't put it all on the government, we should also pull ourselves.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dose meme helps a crypto to be viral? on: November 22, 2020, 12:50:39 PM
Some investors might dig it especially those young investors. The meme might be one of the most popular terms on the internet but I don't think that it is that helpful when it comes to attracting or advertising investors and users to crypto currencies. Instead, these crypto currencies should just be referenced to tv shows or cartoons like The Simpsons did.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be used instead of paper money on: November 22, 2020, 12:47:33 PM
In the past, we have an idea of a universal currency that can be used wherever and whatever country you go to. Wouldn't it be great if bitcoin is that currency? I know that fiat currencies won't be replaced but since bitcoin has its value, in the future this might be a thing. Each country has its own fiat and the world has bitcoin as the universal currency.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the price of Bitcoin now? Take profit or greed? on: November 22, 2020, 12:08:00 PM
Why would I choose to do one when I can do both? I would like to get profit from it but at the same time, I want to continue holding my bitcoin and crypto currencies. It is not that I am greedy but I needed the money for my family, for my future family and to also help the people that needed them. Money is one of the problems my family has as I grow up that is the reason why when I will be starting my own, I don't want to have a problem with money.

It really depends on your priorities in life and how you strategize to earn more from this market. ...

Right now what we should be prioritizing is taking advantage of the great movement of the price. Trade with another altcoin that has a high chance of giving good profits and maybe sell some if you wanted to. In my case, I am holding most of them. I think we can reach a new ATH this year since the price is still sitting at $18K.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Player protection - stop loss limit on: November 22, 2020, 11:38:37 AM

They can't just stop themselves from betting their money so the only thing that could stop them is when they don't have money to bet or they realize that they should stop.

Yes this type of people are the addicts. Addicts don't know how to control themselves even in profit or loss time that why they loss profit all at the end of the betting. This is a big challenge for them and some seek help because they are losing more than profiting to the labour used in the playing of bet.

That could also happen to other people.

When you present someone with a way to earn money just by using his luck, people will really bet their money no matter how small that amount is. I remember that every fiesta in our place, these people are going to our barangay with dice and we guess which color will roll, we usually call it the color game. That is gambling but no matter the age of the people there, they really bet until the money they've empty their pockets. Do you know what the bad thing is? Some of those people that lose go back to their houses just to bet again. Again, these people are not addicted to gambling, they have just presented a way to earn money, despite gambling, they are willing to risk.

It is one of the most popular gambling games here in our country, if not maybe in some places. And I agree that there are a lot of people that even though lost the money they brought, they will go back to their houses to get other funds they can burn. It is because of the fact that their houses are close to the place where the gambling takes place. I also want to say that most of these people are not gambling that much but at that time only.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost more in the process to recover ? on: November 21, 2020, 11:45:28 PM
...the best thing to do when this things happen is to pack up stop and enjoy your winnings.

This is the problem to most of gamblers I know. They are thinking that it is their win, that they should stop and go home. I agree that they should stop but that is not their win, they are just taking back their losses. They took back the money they lost, how is that a win? You win bets maybe, but the money? It is not a win.
...But many gamblers don't operate as such, they rather continue with their gambling for more winnings which might lead them into coax.

Well, that is the point of this thread. They are always thinking that gambling more could lead them to a better future, for better wins and better profits although it is not that easy and it is not the results they are getting in the end. It is like quicksand, to be honest, the more you move, the more you struggle, the more you will be falling into it.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Player protection - stop loss limit on: November 21, 2020, 10:46:28 PM

I don't know how to explain this but there are a lot of people that despite their vice, can actually stop whenever they wanted to. They are huge bettors and they are always at events or places where big wages go down. I don't know if they are addicted or not but they sure are close to addiction yet they can stop, they usually talk about how bad is their luck and call it a day.

This people, even though they don't have any "player protection" can still stop whenever they wanted to. I know people needed help but I know other gamblers can do it too.
379  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: November 21, 2020, 10:09:21 PM
It is because fiat currency is the traditional one and some criminals don't even know or have knowledge about cryptocurrency so they prefer to fiat-crypto. Not all criminals know everything about crypto but those who know it are thinking that they cannot be tracked by the authorities once they already stole the money or an asset of an individual. Hackers are commonly the criminals that will choose to steal crypto than fiat because they can do so online.
Criminals still prefer to launder fiat than crypto because crypto is quite more complicated to transact especially if you are not familiar with it and know less about it. While fiat once stolen leaves any evidences but with crypto, everything will be traced online. You cannot stole or hack crypto if you are not good enough in online transactions plus the KYC that you have to pass before you can make crypto withrawals.

Those people don't have to go to exchanges that requires KYCs, they are criminals so usually they just send them to certain wallets and send them to a mixer. Mixer is usually their go to when laundering hacked and scammed bitcoins. Still, I agree with you, I still prefer fiat because of its liquidity.
380  Economy / Economics / Re: Effective Covid-19 vaccine found on: November 21, 2020, 08:44:38 PM
The COVID 19 was a opportunity for bitcoin to show it unique use case and difference. with the vaccine now in play I think bitcoin has already make it mark which will not have any impact on the price of btc.

We can't say that since even though it is anounced, people might not just dump their bitcoin after this. The price is still having a great time and it is still increasig that we might see an ATH. I think if the price drops before or after that, we all know that it is not because of the fact that there is a vaccine but because there is an opportunity to sell.
