1201  Other / Politics & Society / Re: GLOBAL PANDEMIC - BLESSING IN DISGUISE on: April 12, 2020, 10:09:04 PM
We see the different angles of this situation. As we see bitcoin and crypto currencies being the answer to the pandemic, with the social distancing and lockdowns, it will be the way for us people to be safe but other people have another angle, that is tighter security, more safety precautions, and government assistance. People did not even think about using digital currencies, what they are thinking is to buy essentials to keep them safe from the pandemic. I am not saying that there is no possibility about that, there is but I think that is low.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now is a good time on: April 12, 2020, 09:32:10 PM
Yes,maybe now is the good time  to use bitcoin because of covid19 but nowadays has no assurance that it will boast the value of bitcoin because many people at this time is much concern with their daily needs to survive and to fight corona virus. Many people would not think about investment nowadays although it is good to use bitcoin now to send money because many remittance center are closed.

Use for what? You said that it is a good time to use it but you also said that people are more concerned about the things they needed and also these money remittances being closed so you are also countering what you are saying. For me, not the best time to use it, but as you also said about investment, I think it is the best time to invest because of the incoming halving.
1203  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic Coronvirus Impact On Global economy on: April 12, 2020, 03:12:19 PM
The world is surrounded by the COVID-19 and so the demand for the decentralized economy is increasing as a way of maintaining social distance. Does Pandemic Coronavirus open the door for the decentralized economy? Please justify your answer. Cool

A big no. Despite people maintaining social distancing, fiat are so widely used because of the fact that people need it to buy essentials and fiat are the only ones that can be easily and quickly used in this kinds of scenarios.
1204  Economy / Economics / Re: People hoarding anime, Nintendo Switch, manga, figurine, all weaboos collectible on: April 12, 2020, 01:44:22 PM
I think this is just the point where people are just wanting to kill the boredom. Weeks on the quarantine and it is really bad since we can't go out that much, we can't go to places casually and can't even buy groceries and other essentials that easily. People in their houses have nothing to do but play games, watch movies, animes or maybe Korea Novelas. We can't blame them though, we need something to kill the time.
1205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sport betting site offering bets on the Covid-19 pandemic. Worst site now. on: April 12, 2020, 12:45:08 PM
From people scamming other people that just want to help from this site that lets people bet on this kind of statistics? Humans are just bad at this game, that is so annoying. Joke or not, this is just the worst. Can we report the site about this? Are they against any rules or policies that we can exploit for them to learn their lesson?
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DOTA 2] ESL One Los Angeles 2020 MAJOR [GAMBLING DISCUSSION] on: April 12, 2020, 12:39:30 AM
I don't know how people describe their Tier 1 teams but for me, it is those teams that can win Minors and Majors
Not for me, because what I've said before.
TNC won major 2 times because of most of tier 1 teams were not playing in those tournaments.

And for me, the tier 1 team must have consistently good performance. But look at TNC now, they're even struggling in the qualifier.

tier 1 not playing in that tournament? How about VG? EG? IG?
I didn't say "all", please read it again.

Well, we have our own opinion. That's yours, there's mine too.

Personally I'd like VP to win but it's more likely Secret or Nigma will place 1st since both of these teams look really strong rn.
VP is stronger with the older squad together with Rodjer and Ramzes.

Don't forget about OG, they're also strong. Group stage isn't that much as long as they qualify to the playoffs and that's when the real tournament starts.
I do prefer the old squad of VP and knowing this team is included to be on top tier.I dont have track on the current
performance of the new roster atm.

This is their 3rd time major that they wanted to participate in. OG with Sumail? I guess the major champion is already decided.
I cant deny that OG is still strong on new roster but i do still prefer the old one where ana, topson and ceb. I cant still say that the champion is already decided to OG.

We will be seeing who really is the best in this tournament with OG and VP match taking place today. I like to bet on VP since they have the odds but I would still bet on OG since I know they would be able to break the continuous win of VP. I did not watch some of the games yesterday since I am so pumped with the CSGO's semifinal ESL Pro League 11 where Mousesports just took down Astralis.
1207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: April 11, 2020, 11:59:21 PM
OG - Virtus Pro: Virtus Pro, 2.05 @ BetOnBit

A bit excited about the game of VP and OG. VP is having a good run this tournament making good decisions and counter picks. Their support is really godly, that is Solo. Resolution is also good the reason why he is even invited in the past by Team OG. I will go with OG here, not because I am a fan of the team but also because of the fact that they might give of their hidden plays and picks here.
1208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin current situation on: April 11, 2020, 11:30:36 PM
Bitcoin has proven to be more stable than many stock market assets. At all times, in difficult economic situations, during crises, people have invested money in eternal values - gold, diamonds. Now such values include the oil. But oil prices are falling as the industry falls. The main advantage of gold and diamonds is that they take up little space, they are easy to store and transfer, gold and diamonds are hard to mine, and their mining costs a lot of money. Bitcoin also has all the qualities of gold and diamonds. It is hard to mine, easy to store and Bitcoin mining costs a lot of money, and the number of Bitcoins issued thanks the halving that will happen in May will only decrease. I think that Bitcoin is a reliable asset that will only grow in value in future.

Exactly that's what I wanted to say. during those days all markets just started drop down including stocks the only this could be called a "safe haven" was gold. However, comparing to the other similar markets BTC downtrend was just much better. I aw many people the bought bitcoins for 4-5K and now Imagine how much profit they will get out of it easily.

Despite the small change, gold was also affected by the pandemic and did drop last month. It rebounded but still, it is affected by the pandemic and if the pandemic is not contained well for a long time, then that would also affect gold and it might also affect bitcoin. I agree though that bitcoin did well as it dropped to $4K and now we are at $7K but still going back to $6K.
1209  Economy / Speculation / Re: My first experience of Bitcoin halving, I'm excited. on: April 11, 2020, 10:52:02 PM
Third Halving
May 2020
If Bitcoin happen to do another 12,000% - 13,000% we would see $380,000 - $400,000 per BTC..

If this is why you're here you're going to be disappointed.

When I read posts like this I start to feel scared for Bitcoin. If the community is really built of people who wait for the halving "because 400 thousand!" "dude I'm gonna buy a car and a house next year because this bitcoin man you put 100 dollars and get 10 thousand after a year!" bitcoin is doomed. At least in the short term.

I don't agree with the post above me that it's over for Bitcoin because it's not, but if it is it's because of greedy people who dream of how many dollars they will get for their coins in a year.

The OP should not expect too much for this upcoming halving. Should be realistic here in numbers. 380-400k is too much to think about it. Start thinking maybe 10-15k. If it is his first experience and expecting so much, he will be disappointed. I hope he will not get depressed for what is coming. This is the reason why many newbies are having negative impression with bitcoin when their expectations are not met.

I agree here, we shouldn't expect that much this halving. The price will increase but it will be different from the previous halvings that happened. I think will be going back to a 5-digit price mark and might have a 200% to 300% price increase. I think he will not be depressed since he's been here for a long time, I think so I am sure he experienced those big dumps, he's fine.
1210  Economy / Economics / Re: The Corona Pandemic economic guessing game on: April 11, 2020, 10:05:08 PM
Our government has extended the enhanced community quarantine and one of the problems that we have to face is our economic situation right now. The government can't sustain our necessities and our funds are not enough to fulfill the country's needs while we're quarantined. Our economic situation has been dropping down. I just wish that things will get better for us before we lose everything.
Don't expect that the number of days of quarantine will just be it especially with health problems like this coz unlike the other problems it is hard to sustain so don't blame your government for extending it, that is just for every one to be safe. As for economic status of one's nation, I guess there will be a massive pull down from every country especially on those hardly destructed.

We don't need to blame the government here, really. If they will be lifting the Enhanced Community Quarantine without clearing or containing the carriers, then that would mean more damage to the people and obviously to the economy of our country. It is hard but we need to hold on for the sake of our people and also of our country.
1211  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic outcome on: April 11, 2020, 03:40:11 PM
It is very likely that we will be soon witness another crisis after this pandemic event many people around the world are becoming jobless, in other word no financial to face the reality when this such phenomenon exit, add up the mortgage and bills to pay for, it is sure pain in the back to workaround and see what we can do for the upcoming month during this pandemic.

For me I will just thrown away any things that can be sell off, to support what do I need for, and stay on my list to dos after the event I don't have a family for the moment sure give me a time to not worry about.

How about you give me your thought on this event  I might be adapt your idea and get some of it to surest my stability when the time comes,
Now you need to try to minimize your expenses during the quarantine period. Try not to borrow money and in any case not to take loans. It is even possible to reconsider your specialty and profession from the point of view of what will be in demand in the conditions of a tough and prolonged global economic crisis.
As for cryptocurrency, in the context of the economic crisis, it can, on the contrary, grow in value. Until this time,  need to try to save it.

Well, if people are needing money to provide food for their family and they can't since most of the jobs nowadays are not existent, I think it will be inevitable for those people who are struggling to borrow money. That is the same if they are holding crypto currency, they will be forced to sell it so they will have a fiat they can use.
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have control or not? on: April 11, 2020, 02:48:15 PM
It depends on the situation when i am playing gambling because if i am experiencing a lose streak or losing several times that will be the time that i can control myself to stop playing, so i could avoid myself from having huge losses. But if i am experiencing a win streak i have problems in controlling myself that sometimes i become greedy because i assume that i am so lucky.
Different emotional conditions are occurred in the two sides of gambling addictions, winning and losing are not the decision points to stop the addiction problem. Controlling yourself is not decision, whether it happens or you continue what you have been doing in the regular dates. For big winners, they can limit the betting amount per round but the situation is different for the long sequence losers.
In order to have control over the game you have to observe and follow your rules clearly! It seems to me that something similar exists in trading on the stock exchange... When there are no clear rules - you lose control over the situation and lose money!

Well, there some things that would counter that control. We, humans, are prone to our feelings, to our emotions and that could affect the way we bet or gamble. Despite the rules that we set up, despite the limitations, we could still break those. Based on experience though.
1213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: April 11, 2020, 01:47:18 PM
Any esport game.  I like playing Hearthstone from time to time and I used to play Starcraft as a kid.  That's a fun old game.  I was quite surprised to see there were some Starcraft lines being offered at Nitrogen.

Are those games popular in these parts?

Starcraft is a big thing in the past but I don't know if it is still being played right now. As far as I Know, Heartstone had an event last year but I don't have that much info about that now. These games are being covered by the best games in esports right now being lead by League of Legends, Dota 2, CSGO and, hate to say this, Fortnite.
1214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: April 11, 2020, 12:52:43 AM
I'm interested if Esport events are still going to continue because of the COVID-19 Virus. I guess a lot of events that including huge crows are going to be canceled in order to prevent the coronavirus.
You are missing a lot.

Forget about those live events, esports can be played even without those huge crowds.

That's the best part of it. Esports is currently booming, and one reason is COVID-19. All TO's are turning to esports. Even big sports companies want to have their own leagues in their own games (NBA - basketball, UFC - MMA games...). All those sports have it's own games, where you can create online tournaments between players and still have some sort of entertainment.

We should be clear here though. The reason why sports like NBA, F1, etc are starting to play online games is not because of esports but because they wanted to maximize the viewership their players are in their houses. If you will be following the NBA on Instagram, they are posting a lot of videos about players and other stuff. NBA2K has its own tournaments, and if you will watching it, it is full of TTs and I think it is fun but sometimes annoying since instead of focussing on the game, they are busy TTing. F1 has also their own tournament in the past and it is quite boring if you will be watching it. if you want it even Farming Simulator has a tournament, that is how the online games are evolving right now.
1215  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Privacy in Bitcoin on: April 11, 2020, 12:35:18 AM
I think BTC's  main policy is anonymous transaction, i like it and some how good for me for invest. I really don’t want to share who sent me that's my privacy

Bit the thing here is that bitcoin is not really anonymous, it is pseudo-anonymous. Decentralization is the main reason why bitcoin is created, faster transactions and lower transaction fees. Another thing is that, if people know your bitcoin address, they would be able to track the transactions you have just by searching your address in the blockchain.
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I realise Coronavirus is not a reason why on: April 10, 2020, 11:56:25 PM
I have feelings that it will still go lower than what we are seeing now.

The halving will soon take place.

Based on the movements, I think we will be starting the halving with a $6K price. The rose to $7.3K but it goes back to $6.8K now. It can go higher but I don't think it will ever leave the territory of $6K price mark. Since bitcoin is not directly affected by the pandemic, I think we should not be panicking about the price of bitcoin.
1217  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we get people to use bitcoin as a currency? on: April 10, 2020, 11:19:45 PM
Let's always display banners of bitcoin and list its advantage over fiat and get to give discount for anyone who wants to pay for our goods and services even if it's a very small discount. People generally are attracted to low price with good quality.

I don't think we should compare it to fiat since people would doubt something like we are wanting to replace the fiat into crypto currency. What you're saying is good but the comparison is not needed, we can still display banners especially those businesses to accept bitcoin and give them discounts when using it. In our country, the local exchange let us pay using bitcoin (but not directly bitcoin since it is being converted to fiat) to pay bills and buy load and it will be giving 1% to 5% cashback depending on their promo.
1218  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency can not replace fiat currency. on: April 10, 2020, 05:40:23 PM
There are still some rural places in this world, so it will be hard for them to adopt the new system if this will be implemented in the future, which I hope won't happen, and even those person in provinces will also get mad if those things happen.

I live in the province but I think people could be used to those changes. The only problem we have right now is that obviously, the government can't afford that technology, that development. In the future though, for sure, we would be able to see a crypto currency as the main currency but for sure that would not be a decentralized currency.

I think it is not that the government can't afford the technology, for me, it is the government who don't want to accept cryptocurrency because they aren't that knowledgeable about it. Based on my observation, I think that their mindset about cryptocurrency is, it is full of fraud and scammers. That's why we should first let the government know that the benefit of cryptocurrency is somehow focused on the economy and the market. We can start just by promoting it in some business or platforms that many people can see, once they got curious about that then that's the first step. Also, crypto is not the enough yet, because it still lacks some ability to replace fiat currency that is used for so many years, it is not that easy to replace it with cryptocurrency, may be soon.

Well, with the pseudo-anonymity of bitcoin, it is the obvious reaction to it. Though, I don't think that the government will be thinking that it is a good thing for the economy even with us letting them know it because the only thing they would look at it is the decentralization of it. I think it would go side by side with fiat but not really compete with it.
1219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: April 10, 2020, 04:59:58 PM
No one should rely on gambling they can make money from gambling, that's not a wise idea even in any situation. Gambling in the first place is just only a game of fun for most of us, therefore it should not take much of our time, we may even not do it on a daily basic, gambling occasionally is still recommended, but this is for online only since nothing can stop online gambling sites, unless they are close.

With this pandemic we are experiencing now, if we like to gamble, we should know what's the right thing to do.

Maybe it's time to completely stop thinking of gambling as a moneymaking thing? I mean, unless you actually WORK in the casino industry, or you are running referral/affiliate programs for casinos, ou really shouldn't be doing gambling to make money. It's just against the very logic of gambling (house wins in the end).

Well, that is easier to say than doing it. It is hard since the obvious reasons why people are gambling is because they want to earn money. People may say they are playing for fun but there are other ways to entertain yourself without risking your money. Because of Covid 19 a lot of gamblers stopped gambling, it is the start for those people that want to stop gambling.
1220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: April 10, 2020, 04:14:30 PM
Just wondering.  I know DOTA has like the biggest tourneys.  I tried watching the game with Team Liquid vs some team on it and I found the game a bit slow...  Are there any other popular games out there?  Preferably with quicker pace.

I can't think of a good game right now with big tournaments but if we will be talking about quick-paced games, I would recommend Mobile Legends. I don't know if they have any games right now, but I am seeing some replays last week.
