what you will soon find inyour research is that they can actually measure substances below the surface.
yep satelites can actually see aquifers under the earths ground
speculators have already been using the tech to find gold/oil rich area's
ecologists have been looking at aquifer depletion over the last decadesions in the next 4 years
These particular findings are not with active sensors such as bistatic radar which does see some meters below the surface.

....
they hope between 2030-2050 to have space mining for precious metals up and running with payload capacity of 150tonnes per trip. imagine it 150tonnes of gold entering the economy each time a space cargo ship re enters earths orbit in ~20 years

bye bye gold prices
gold aggregates on earth totally by sedimentary processes, eg action of water. It will not be found on the moon except as a small component of metal rich deposits.
362  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NASA to make major announcement about the moon on Monday on: October 27, 2020, 11:57:15 AM
so to explain some of the science
every molecule emits a certain frequency of photons(certain colour of light) and knowing the exact colour of water means they can measure and monitor it.

they say they did not find any water in large blocks. definetly no underground lakes. no iceburgs, not even icecubes or puddles. ....
so i hope this can get some people to grasp the scale of whats needed to do to gather any reasonable amount to use for fuel/colonisation of the moon

These findings refer only to the sunlit areas. Areas in deep shadow do not radiate anything. Areas underground do not radiate spectra. So the new findings do not contradict the possibilities of large bodies of ice in the deep dark areas at the poles.

Sunlit areas are pretty much a constant -20F a couple of meters underground, so they certainly can support water. Except for sublimation, where ice turns directly to vapor. It's been believed that water vapor would quickly be stripped of one H from the solar wind, but these findings contradict that.

The vital finding here is the absolute certainty that the OH is H20. Previously it was just known to be some OH.

....I see pro-trump gatherings all the time. I don't see any Biden people. ....

The Trump voters are reacting to a hostile and suppressive media with massive, spontaneous demonstrations. These cannot be suppressed from Facebook, Twitter and the mainstream media. If they suppress one, there's six more popping up.

I'm seeing it around here also. Quite impressive.

I don't see any Biden people. ....

The part of that statement that should be of concern is the "any." And I agree, I've seen  zero for Biden.
364  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Elections 2020 - very self such moderated on: October 25, 2020, 11:12:15 PM
The whole Republican strategy seems broken to me. They're talking about all the wrong things. At this point, I'm thinking that Biden is going to win by a landslide. He's currently ahead in Florida and Arizona, which Trump needs to win. The polls may still tighten, but I suspect that pollsters are more likely to have overcorrected than undercorrected after 2016; in other words, I expect polling error to go in the opposite direction to 2016.
....

That's rational assuming the slant isn't purposeful and an attempt to create an impression Biden's ahead.

It seems a little unfair to compare being able to smell someones perfume and saying that coronavirus restrictions are a waste of time. There are so many scenarios where this sort of shielding could help stop the spread - if it just stops 1 out of 100 people getting infected then it seems like a good idea, with this particularly deadly and contagious virus. Let's say you were just walking through the checkouts after deciding not to buy anything, someone on the opposite side of the shield sneezes but that barrier was able to protect you from direct exposure in the 2 seconds that you were passing by. Of course you have to think of situations where the shields are detrimental or counter intuitive, but it seems silly to say they are not helpful.

It does not matter if it "seems silly." What matters is the results of empirical testing.
366  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Paid Just $750 taxes in 2016 and 2017 ! on: October 25, 2020, 02:28:22 PM
someone who seemed to owe tax

someone who in fact did owe tax*

Well, that would indicate a final determination by the IRS and the courts in the audit, which has not yet occurred.

Which is why I phrased it as "seemed to owe tax." The IRS can be wrong.

This sort or ambiguity has a stench of elitism and that should not be applied to a presidential candidate or incumbent, it is far more synonymous with those suited and booted tax evaders and tax avoiders that sit on the corporate ladder within high powered institutions that makes them think they are above the law because of the donations they make to their favourite political parties.

The IRS routinely settles for a fraction of what's due, often with small businessmen or individuals that have fallen on hard times.
367  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Paid Just $750 taxes in 2016 and 2017 ! on: October 25, 2020, 01:19:23 AM
Why would a person who was once a presidential candidate and then later became a president make deals and settle with the IRS?

Anybody who is fiddling their tax returns should not be allowed anywhere near the presidency of any country.
...

Why should someone settle?

One reason would be if the point of tax law being discussed is in fact unclear and subject to multiple interpretations.

The IRS makes deals and settles with a vast number of taxpayers, for various reasons.

Another reason would be because you did whatever has been alleged and the offer now is better than if you made them put the effort into proving what you already know is true.

This reminds me of your silly "Michael Flynn is innocent because he admitted he was guilty (twice) and took a plea deal." argument.

I can see that. In the case of the IRS, they would much prefer to take someone who seemed to owe tax, and settle, collecting something, rather than risking the court process and possibly losing, or winning and collecting nothing.

That's entirely different than weaponizing the IRS and using it vindictively against political enemies.

Plea bargaining and settling are very similar processes.

Ah I see.

Why even do this though? Like what's the point?

Do people think that they're going to be able to convince this weird niche of people online to change their vote to Biden, or maybe to just not go out and vote for Trump at all. Seems kinda dumb.

It's extremely dumb. All the way up to origins.

That can be a cubicle sock puppet farm that is financed and designed to change public attitudes, with 100-500 people.

"ERIC TRUMP ORDERED TO TESTIFY IN DADDY TRUMP’S FRAUD CASE BEFORE THE ELECTION
"Trump has built a pyramid scheme of public fraud. It's a taxpayer-backed cash grab.
"WHICH TRUMP WILL TAKE THE FALL FOR YEARS OF TAX FRAUD?"

Not sure where you're getting these headlines or if you're just making them up by yourself at this point. I really doubt that a news publication put out the words "to testify in Daddy Trump's Fraud Case..." Doesn't really make a lot of sense to me to be honest, but yeah.

What is the point of this thread anyway? Take tons of the bad headlines about Trump and just toss them in here with no links to the articles or any analysis.

The entire thing is robotic postings. A stack of messages , or here, headlines is assembled. Then they are set to post periodically. It's not a real thread with real people.

Why would he hide behind excuses? What is stopping him from releasing his tax returns while the audit is on-going?

There is absolutely nothing stopping anybody releasing their tax returns while the audit with the IRS is going on.
....

Yeah, that's you trying to push someone else into doing something.

You can ask nicely.

Naw, leftists would rather sue to get them, or outright steal them.

I'm guessing the reason you wouldn't want to release them during an audit is that the legal team / tax law team is interested in ensuring that the financial ramifications of the audit are as low as possible. If you are to release your tax returns to the public you risk pressure on the IRS to ensure that they make penalties as strict as possible....

Sounds reasonable. In such a situation I might make a quick compromise offer to the IRS, something like "let's settle for 1/2 the disputed amount, but this offer is only good for 10 days."

But then people'd complain he got off easy.

Hi everyone!
UFAGAMEเว็บไหนดี
This question is for some heavy thinkers.

The multiverse theory is probably correct.  Many-Worlds Interpretation is also probably correct as well.
Talk about infinities!!!

But the bigger question is why, not how, the cosmos exists at all?
...

Because if there was no universe, there could be no bubble gum.

Then this movie couldn't have been made.

I'm only bothered by them because they reinforce the crapspeak about the virus. They do create tunnels, but that is good because it helps to spread immunity, and eventually the government will have to admit that the vaccines will be useless and not required. Then they will have to justify all the money they wasted. and  the life years that were destroyed in pursuit of their agenda.

Age isn't really relevant. it's the co-morbidities and the strength of your immune system that is important . The only reason that the elderly are more vulnerable is that they have been exposed to vaccines and other so called health care products for longer.

But the plastic barriers provide a home for the trillions of plastic nano-bots, which fly out and are invisible and then re merge with the plastic, until the next time some of those 5G network signals energize them.

<<<a joke>>>
376  Other / Politics & Society / Re: French teacher beheded for anti-sharia teachings on: October 21, 2020, 08:17:53 PM

The teachings still can't justify beheading, they can just make fun of the teacher like the Jalal Prank and just give him a warning about it than killing him by heading though.

However there is no law about people making fun of Muhamad, is there?
Most people are not aware of the culture and beliefs of other religions which is why this is always going to keep happening. I don't know why think no one will even make fun of their God actually.

But Mohammed is not the God.

The idea here is that making fun of the "messenger" is a bad thing.

Is there a law prohibiting making fun of Mohammed? I suppose so, in Islamic theocracies.

I think Biden was second, followed by LIB then GRN. Didn't even know we had a Green Party candidate, seems we do.

So maybe they did order by some arbitrary popularity metric but that sounds really sketchy. Unless all ballots in your state are completely random and yours just happened to be that way.

The ballots were entered by touchscreen, then printed out on thermal paper both in English and scan codes. Then you actually "vote" by inserting this page into a scanner that's on top of a collection can. This system is capable of randomizing and presenting data impartially, and then accurately recording votes.

The collection bin system does allow double checking vote tallies and audit.

I'll grudgingly say I like the system, seems to have the advantages of both old style paper and modern electronic. With the paper stored, as long as the thermal image survives, there is a paper trail.

Could humans abuse it? Could they be caught every time? I think so.

The religion of peace strikes again. Roll Eyes
At least they say the suspect was shot so no more beheading for him. There are virging goats awaiting him in the afterlife.

Islam is the religion of peace and it preaches peace in the world. However incidents like these are condemn by the Islamic teachings and those who are involved in these activities are not muslims or are the one's giving bad names to the muslims.

People who are involved in such acts are Muslims but have less knowledge of their religion. The one who made that cartoon should be punished from the start because they will trigger such people to do something such as this incident. because their knowledge of Islam is not yet full. therefore, they really need to be aware of this kind of scenario from ignorant Muslims. However, if those cartoonists just leave every religious thing and focus to make cartoons for the kids, this kind of incident wouldn't have happened.

This is the same kind of twisted thinking that creates atrocities like honor killings.

So I am french...
.....
You have to know that terrorist "islamic" groups are paid by occidental countries, including of course "Israël" at a good place.
Terrorist "islamist" group kill about 90% of muslims, 10% of christians, an never attack "Israël", because they are paid and healed by this entity......

It'd be significant if, say the Iranian mullahs came out publicly against these silly, stupid, extremist actions such as the beheadings.

If you want Iran to react because a silly man killed a teacher in France, you re silly stupid and extremist.

Didn't think they would.

But if Iran doesn't, they leave it open for the Saudis to say the things that should be said. Fine with me either way.
