...I value the consensus of the business community. I believe that the government has the ability to use its own people to verify the consensus of the medical community (the CDC for example) to come to a decision about the outlook of Covid from the medical community (and its own economic advisors). It then takes that input, and crunches the numbers to come to a plan on the best possible solution. Why? Because thats their job... when people have a job to do, if they don't have any reason to do it dishonestly they typically dont.

Ever dealt with the CDC directly?

Just curious. I have, and have a very low opinion of their ability to represent a trustworthy source of data and advice. Let me be more specific: I would strongly disagree that the CNC always, or generally, "represented the view or consensus of the medical community."

But that's just me.

Seriously, after 19 years still bringing that up?
Next thing you gonna say moon landing was faked?
Or that earth is round....

Why not? If the reasons of the collapse are not true we need to reveal the truth.
Even if there was a fire that caused collapse how come an airplane crashed to a building in a huge city in the US without taking into consideration this airplane that was flying in such low feet?
This puzzles me a lot and I think a lot of people as well...
Why was the plane flying so low? Because the Islamic terrorists trained to ram plane into buildings at that altitude. What about it is puzzling?

Why kill a bunch of terrorists and place them on board? The planes were simply radio controlled buzz-bombs, there as a distraction to attempt to cover the demolition. Worked pretty well, too... at least in your case.

Cool
It's that easy to get a modern jet full of passengers to operate via remote control?

Nope. However, go ahead and double down on stupid.

That does have the effect of enabling you to continue on contributing to anti-American, likely Iranian propaganda.

Nothing to worry about?
The climate has already changed and we have to act fast if we want to overcome the worst.
There are so many extreme changes in the temperature of my region that are not normal. You can feel the disaster without being a scientist.

I don't believe this kind of a thing. You can feel it so it must be true?

It's the SLIME, you maroon. Not CRIME...

Let me know when either one of you have an argument to present.

I kinda like the color maroon. Do you think Obama will blush maroon as they escort him off to prison?

Cool

A maroon, is a person so much of a moron they can't even speel it.

A joke, basically.

I will have to differ strongly, as you are too ignorant to realize what we are experiencing now is a result of international organized slime.

Crime you can shoot the perps. Slime?

Care to explain in what world would social distancing help cell tower triangulation? Are you trying to suggest coronavirus has something to do with 5G? Perhaps the reason only one person were able to put two and two together is because the theory is utterly baseless?
Cell tower triangulation is very important because once the towers uproot themselves and start walking and slithering around, we don't want them running into each other.

You didn't think that when the Singularity arrives and AI becomes conscious, they were going to walk around like normal small people, did you?
1289  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The deep state and Obamagate on: May 15, 2020, 06:33:56 PM
The most effective way for the actual conspirators to squash the truth would be for them to shower so many bunko conspiracy theories around it that it was effectively buried. With a noise-to-signal ratio high enough, a post that made sense would be effectively buried.

A good example is this post and this thread.

This is a great point.  The ignorance displayed in this thread is astounding, really.  Even those who are likely to agree with the premise of my post are rabidly spewing noise that drowns the message.  Digging for conspiracy theories to make this seem bigger than it is can only serve to make it seem like it's not a big deal when those conspiracies are debunked.

Lets put aside for a moment that both of you mooks are literally claiming that there was a conspiracy here under the Obama administration as you cry cry cry about "conspiracy theorists". Lets also put aside the fact that anyone who made these claims you are purporting was called a conspiracy theorist during this whole process, and still even now. Lets also put aside the fact that you Direpup have been rather quiet about this whole situation until there has been enough of a popular outcry for you to grow the nuts to make the claim in public now that it is convenient to speak out.
....

Just so my point is not misunderstood, it is a very general comment about Internet forums. I will put the issue in alternative form. Suppose that people and opinions you really dislike or have a commercial interest in subverting posts to a forum on Huffington Post. You want to destroy the ideas and communications from that forum. There are two options (1) argue the ideas on that forum (2) post nonsense and various garbage ideas

(2) effectively destroys the forum while (1) only brings the conflict between the ideas to the forefront.

(2) when the nonsense reaches a critical level, like 60-90%, people tune the entire forum out.

If he happened to get up to 8th grade level, he might understand that the buildings were built to resist a whole lot more than free-fall... more such as airplanes crashing into them.

Cool
I'm not at all certain that with the posters on this thread, any possibility exists to get the discussion up to the 8th grade level.

1292  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Prolonged border closure on: May 15, 2020, 11:42:50 AM
Things are getting a bit better, I shall try to cross 2 borders within the next few days. I just hope everything will go smoothly, because as of today I'm getting information that I won't be able to return. Very difficult times for travelers like me...
Maybe just wait?

Yes, thanks for advice, I've been waiting quite a lot already, but I shall wait a bit more, as I'm getting contradictory information about a border I had plan to cross (I'm in western Europe, traveling by car). Besides, I'm still separated from my girlfriend who's in Russia. They don't let any foreigners in, and she can't visit me...

Russia is sealed off due to Covid?

Well, Russia doesn't accept any foreigner in, so I can't travel to meet her, while I'm in the EU which doesn't accept people from outside the Shenghen area. So we both can travel to each other's place. We've met in Latvia before, but it's closed to foreigners at this time, so there are no easy solutions...
What a mess.
1293  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Medical experts within the Trump Administration want a slow reoopening on: May 15, 2020, 11:41:01 AM
Don't worry, SaltySpitoon assures me they have calculated absolutely all of this and have planned for every macroeconomic eventuality. Just ignore the imploding economy that could realistically kill hundreds of millions across the world. A few hundred thousand people with serious preexisting conditions may die, so it is totally worth it!

Nah don't worry I'm on your side now actually. I'm down with putting on the plague mask and burning down houses with those infected inside of them to stop the infection like the good ole days when we didn't have medical professionals to boss us around. I don't actually trust that anyone knows how the economy works, so I'm just asking people how many times they've had money in the past week and relying on that rather than teams of experts with sophisticated modeling software that've been doing this for decades. Those jerks that make economic predictions based on billions of datapoints and millions of variables every week to determine what stocks to buy and advise the government on interest rates, and various other actions are witches as far as I'm concerned.

Most of those trillions printed stayed in Washington DC and or went to pretty big companies. You think maybe they could pull that off a couple more times?
1294  Other / Politics & Society / Re: University Study Finds Fire Did Not Cause Building 7's Collapse on 9/11 on: May 15, 2020, 11:34:35 AM
Oh I see. So there would be some modification of the formula to accomplish this. Then the correct formula describing the matter has not been posted?

That's a bit like claiming that you are sure that lift, drag, thrust and gravity are related in such a way that an airplane goes up not down, and saying. "Just trust me."

Show your work please.

It has already been shown. Free fall = no extra resistance other than air and other negligible forces. Free fall speed means it fell as fast as possible at the speed resulting from the pull of gravity. ANY RESISTANCE WHATSOEVER means it falls slower than free fall speed. You have fun demanding equations so you can play intellectual and try desperately try to topic slide. Anyone who has basic understanding of simple physics knows this is not possible unless ALL resistance was removed. The only way that happens is if the supports were removed BEFORE the floor impacting the next happened, not as a result of them impacting each other. The "pancake collapse" theory violates the laws of physics, several of them.

The proof or lack of your statements really is in the equations.

You not only refuse to provide the math but actively deny the need for it.

It's not credible to assert that I'm "playing intellectual" if I'm keeping the discussion at the 8th grade level.

What is a practicing physician going to help me with when I'm dealing with a global pandemic?
Things that actually help you?
1296  Other / Politics & Society / Re: University Study Finds Fire Did Not Cause Building 7's Collapse on 9/11 on: May 15, 2020, 02:32:53 AM
Sure, that defines one side of the problem. The fall time in a gravity field with air resistance disregarded, which is okay.

so what's wrong with the fall time of the twin towers?

Is the fact that the resistance from the ENTIRE STRUCTURE of the building is disregarded? Apparently you think so. That is the ONLY way free fall speeds could be reached.

Oh I see. So there would be some modification of the formula to accomplish this. Then the correct formula describing the matter has not been posted?

...Fauci isn't an expert in economics, but is an expert in the medical field and we should take what he says about the medical field as truth....

Not just "no but hell no."

I don't know any docs that think like that.

And he's not in any sense an expert in the medical field.

Talk to some practicing physicians.
