http://nycshibarescue.org/ looks fine, ever though I believe this dog is photoshopped.  Grin

Must be something about furries and coffee tables that I'm not getting.

Bitcoin100 had its own exclusive article, and holy shit what a sensationalist title! (This article had nothing to do with the post above, as the one above was for Wired)

http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasperhamill/2014/02/03/bitcoin-charity-admits-its-biggest-donation-ever-was-likely-stolen-money/

"Admits it's likely" and "Suspect it might be, but have no proof either way" are rather different, but media will do whatever media will do to get readers *shrug*

Also, first comment courtesy of Phinn's effors. Thanks!

If I didn't have my head so far up my ass with Black Arrow, I would have found that much earlier. I see Milly made her presence in the comment section. I thought I put s/he on a leach when I let h/him know I knew a few things. I may have to fire up a certain thread back up to put this dog back on it's paper. But I'll save that for later, letting this be just another warning to chill. Honestly, I kinda like Milly, and am taken aback that I/us/we have the pleasure of feeling h/his wrath.

For those not aware, the coffee table meme has its origins back during the Pinkie Pie episode.

Bitcoin Charity Admits Its Biggest-Ever Donation Was Likely Stolen Money

If I recall, 184 BTC was worth a lot less back then, in the single digits. Q4 of last year, we received a $5K USD via BTC donation, with the same amount pledged by the same person when we go through it.

affordable housing NPO interested in seeking bitcoin donations

From: Ryan N.

Hello Dmitry,
I'm a treasurer for La Reunion, an non-profit Affordable Housing Cooperative in Austin, Texas that opened in April of this year. To remain affordable we bought an old building which has required much more maintenance that expected due to health and safety issues such as bedbugs and high levels of carbon monoxide.
One of our goals is to establish more computer literacy in the community by setting up a computer lab and a mesh network and try to provide internet to the surrounding apartments. This goal has been put on the back burner due to high maintenance  costs. Because the founders are educated and use technology for organization we realize how far behind some of our lower income members are and the the pressing need to bring them "on-line" both to the global internet and to our local organizing structures, like our wiki, maintenance trello, food pantry app, etc.
We've set up fundraisers for both maintenance  and tech  and I'm sure by accepting bitcoin we would get more donations. With a $1000 dollars worth of bitcoin we could buy the routers and computers to get started at building a community provide internet and housing.
If you would like more information check out our wiki or email/ call me.

I like this org, but can't seem to find their donation page. They are fairly new and use a wiki as their website, but they are linked to 501(c)3 org. I'm curious as to where they would prominently display the Bitcoin donation option on their website. They do have a descent Facebook page.

Donation option added to their page http://lareunioncoop.org/home and $1,000 donation sent.

Let's hope hat incentivises their community to use bitcoin too.

Wonderful! Wonderful! (Just recouping some of my post count due to having ~200 posts deleted due to being an idiot)

I'll play catch-up tomorrow.

How did the freebie aspect workout at the info desk, Rassah?

~TMIBTCITW

I gave away my entire stack of paper wallets, each one with a gift, of course Smiley Also gave away so much advice, my throat was hoarse for the next two days from talking. Speaking of which, I need to poke that horse charity I've been meaning to convince since last summer...

That's great, Rassah. Of course it was compliments of Josh of BFL to me to you. Now, tell me more about poking a horse for, as everyone knows, I'm goat poker.  Shocked

Both www.dolfilms.org and www.orphanbracelet.org would work, but only one endowment per person. I would love to see both sites accept bitcoins, whether for donations or purchases, and sincerely hope they embed a Bitcoin donation option on one of the sites so that they can receive a $1K USD via bitcoins endowment from Bitcoin 100.

~Bruno Kucinskas

It took them quite some time, but they finally got it set up http://www.dolfilms.org/

Donation sent! https://blockchain.info/tx/d33d324019699d0b27b982fadd2b33da034b00f8fd4c52f470895d2c1cc07858

Hello Rassah,

Thank you so much for the donation.
And yes it was worth it [I said I hope all the work was worth the reward], not for the money, but to get the button on my page...

Check this link out BITCOIN CONTEST LINK... http://bitcoinbaba.com/ubuntu-bracelet-campaign/

Thank you!!!!!

Bravo! http://www.orphanbracelet.org/

http://bitcoinbaba.com/ WOW! Killer Bitcoin logo. Check it out and place your cursor over it to discover what it reads. It's almost as good as Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending, which, BTW, I discovered recently came in first place in some contest a couple years ago, but was disqualified for some unknown reason. Seriously, I didn't know of the event back then. Anyway, check out the Bitcoin logo: http://bitcoinbaba.com/

Gulp! Looks like when Bruno says tomorrow, he means a Fortnight™. I take full responsibility for my actions, in this case, inaction.

I will not promise that it won't happen again, for I'm an idiot. An idiot with a big heart, that is.

And yet another request:

From: Joe Wos

The ToonSeum, a nonprofit museum of comic and cartoon art is now accepting donations via bitcoin and would like to learn more about your program.
Thanks,
Joe

When asked when they added bitcoin donations to their site, and how they have heard about it, they followed up with

Quote
Three days ago lol! I heard about it from my 12 year old son. After a visit to CES i became convinced that we should do it. Though i still have some reservations. Still trying to grasp it all but I'm a geek so love tech!.

Joe

FYI, I know this charity very well, since they are just a few blocks away from Anthrocon, the biggest furry convention in the world, and are very often frequented and heavily supported by furries during the convention. So vetting isn't really an issue, as I can completely vouch for them (having visited them myself), but they should still be reviewed as a matter of consistency (and we need to make a decision on whether they qualify despite already deciding to accept it themselves).

They look fine, Rassah. Soon, we'll all be donning tees depicting Inaba's catchphrase, "I am FURRY, hear me squeak!" (Google it if you don't believe me.)
3690  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin 100: Developed Specifically for Non-Profits on: February 14, 2014, 07:05:28 AM
He, I'm back from Miami! Was quite busy there, and am still somewhat exhausted from my "vacation." One of the two most interesting things I've found out at the convention is that there are TWO David Baileys out there, one from Alabama, USA, and the other from England; both are bitcoiners. Anyway, back to work.

First, some thanks:

We're running a BeWelcome.org fundraiser of 3000 euro and your donation has been a great head start!

As the vice treasurer of the organization: Thank you very much!
Kasper Souren

Then some more requests

From: Seth

Greetings

My name is Seth, I've found a ytube video from Freedomain Radio naming Bitcoin100.org
I am the webmaster of a soon-to-be registered charity organization: www.brotherlyhands.com
Stan is the president, can be reached at: info@brotherlyhands.com
and I already mentioned Bitcoin100 prior to this email.
What are the specific requirements to qualify for this contribution?
I am setting up a non-profit myself, that will become an artistic/cultural hub.
Looking forward to your reply

Seth

I'll reply with the usual spiel. I guess for now check whether they qualify.

I also got the following:
Quote
My name is Renee and I run a non-profit in in Vancouver, Canada called PeaceGeeks. We have actually been accepting BitCoin donations for about a year, but we were wondering if we might still qualify for your contributions. I believe your goal is to spread awareness and the legitimacy of BitCoin as a means of contributing, so in this sense, adding another organization to your list would advance your cause while being a big help to us. Kindly advise when you have a moment! All the best for now!

They are not qualified, since they have been receiving bitcoin for a while, but they were wondering if we could add their site to our list. They asked if they could at least get listed on our site as a list of charities that accept bitcoin, since apparently our list is used as a source of places to donate to. I think we can accommodate them. Edd, can you add peacegeeks.org as a charity, with a note reading "disqualified: already accepting" to our site? When I have time, I'll have to go through the list and fix up the status messages a bit, since many of the charities on our list don't accept btc, and apparently don't plan to.

http://brotherlyhands.com/ is only three months old, and we have no way in knowing if Bitcoin 100 is somehow being taking advantage of, otherwise most anybody can set up an NPO today with the knowledge that in a couple months they, too, can not only receive an endowment, but use us, Bitcoin 100, in their press releases to garner more funds that may not go toward the causes they claim to help.

PG furiously stirring the pot. Shall I carve you a bigger paddle?

Says Darin, of whom I came to his rescue when he and Josh of BFL got into it over a very sensitive issue. BTW, he never thanked me, of which I could could care less in that regard, but now he somehow feels he needs to stick it up my ass over the Black Arrow issue, among others, notwithstanding a person I've personally donated money to support his noble cause, along with encouraging others to send him thousands of dollars because I vetted him.

It's a motherfuckin' shame that all I do to support the community, along with bringing further awareness to Bitcoin on my dime, the people I previously had no qualms with opt to stick it up my ass.

I truly am sad right. Very sad. But, I hate no one.

Thank you.

This is silly. If BA asked Verisilicon to disclose the fact of their agreement to anyone who asked, that would supersede the NDA. It makes sense that BA would ask them to do this specifically during this circumstance.  I'm sure if any one of Verisilicon's future customers saw this thread and asked, Verisilicon could produce documentation authorizing the disclosure of anything they said. As I said before, PG, I appreciate your efforts, but this is an empty rabbit hole you are looking down.

Thus, I've wasted a lot of energy looking into this, and nary a party will be harm in any way, for all have been vetted. Just wanted to be on record in stating such.

That said, I may be ending this crusade. I do respect/trust goosman96's efforts in all this.

The Role of Stupidity in Society.

Ali Anani, PhD
Managing Partner/ Phenomena Communications
Is stupidity a bad thing always? Or, does it have a dual role and can be rewarding sometimes? Are societies destroyed by stupid fools or there is an indirect blessed role for stupidity? Do we need to change our perspective on stupidity?

I shall not be stupid by not acting on the kind invitation by Magdalena to start a discussion thread on this topic.

Dear Ali, I invite you to post this presentation, here, on The Social Capital.

If we are not going to stick to the topic then please let us at least discuss the idea of Social Capital. Maybe some good can come out of the stupidity on display here. A more open and clear dialogue can happen between the actual parties who have a stake in this venture versus those who are merely perpetuating story lines in order to have people focus on their issues and agendas and not the issues of those who are stakeholders.

Exactly, hence why I'm here.
3697  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: February 14, 2014, 02:42:16 AM
They only confirmed publicly stated info by BA, nothing secret that is in the NDA. I know your heart is in the right place. Call the China offices and report back with your results. Otherwise, you are just being a fudster.
Exactly. NDA does not mean 'no one can talk about anything', necessarily. An NDA specifies what cannot be talked about but it's not the same (again, not necessarily) as not being able to talk at all about a matter. Depends on the specific NDA, and I guarantee you that ba's NDA with their resellers isn't the same NDA as they have with veriwhateveritscalled. So claiming anyone has breached an NDA Is reaching a bit unless you've read that specific NDA for yourself.

(And yes, I've read, and signed, a few NDA's in my time, and they all had different things I couldn't talk about in them)

So, what you're saying is that during the penning of the NDA, Black Arrow purposely allowed anybody who asks Verisilicon if a contract is in place, to go ahead and tell them, and that Robert would have taken the time to read said NDA prior to replying to some anonymous email.

Not only that, but the initial email only references http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/, whereupon Robert had to take the time to hunt the site, then reference http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/minion-asic.html in his reply.

Thank God!  Good follow through Goozman!

Now I can put PG on ignore again.    Grin

You just go ahead and do that, Mr. Date Registered: December 30, 2013.

Clearly, Verisilicon has broken an NDA agreement, and will probably lose millions of dollars in sales for doing such.

The third generation ASIC, labeled CoinCraft, will be a 28nm in-house effort. It has been co-designed by a number of players, including Synapse, Innosilicon, and Verisilicon. The chip is built to scale with bitcoin network difficulty, by operating in three modes.

So, it took three entities to produce Massive Luck Investments and Bitmine's 28nm chip, but Virisilicon was able to produce the Minion on their own for Black Arrow.

Maybe, one day Black Arrow will be...

Quote
Massive Luck Investments and Bitmine are jointly building a data center in China that will host mining power using the third-generation chips. That facility, which will cost just under $1 million for basic physical construction, will be finished around February, although it will start hosting CoinCraft processors in small quantities in December.

I guess BA Could Have authorized them to release a that information but then why go through the trouble of making everyone sing a NDA? Hell...even Matt is under the obligation of an NDA.

Again, I will state...something is amiss. Unless they are throwing out disinformation because they are in actuality, working on their 14nm tech. and want to blow away all their competition.

But that is just a dream I have...
Nothing is amiss.

Fuck me! We CAN put this NDA thing to rest right here, right now.

Black Arrow Matt, does so-and-so have any orders on your books for bitcoin miners? All I want is a simple yes or no, nothing that I'm not privy to.

Apologies for being vague, does Dank have an order on Black Arrow's book for any bitcoin miners?
