381  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Server PSU-powered GPU rig packages! Pico's, Risers, adapter cables, etc. on: September 06, 2017, 09:11:59 PM
Is there something I can wire so that if I have to power cycle my mining rig that has a standard atx evga psu for the motherbboard as well as an hp1200 server psu to turn on the server psu with the atx? Right now if i power cycle, the server psu doesn't turn on and the system won't boot properly. I have to shut it down and manually push the button on the breakout board to turn the server psu on. I know their are pico adapters. My question is, is there something that allows me to use both and turn on both at the same time.

one of these break out boards does but I'm still trying to figure out how to power off everything when i do remote shut downs, i know you can some do it but they won't tell me how i have asked even offered to pay for the tip , sooner or later I'll get it .

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DPS1200FB-power-supply-breakout-board-adapter-GPU-miner-remote-on-12V-Ethereum-/302387593983?

I don't know what wire i need to run it from the four pin header on the break out board to the Pico's powering the motherboard that will tell it to shut down everything. I think Finksy makes that cable but right now, like he said hes not able to do any orders ..

I use Sever PSU with http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-PicoPSU-150-XT-150W-12Volt-DC-DC-ATX-Mini-ITX-Power-Supply-FREE-Shipping-/371962175719?hash=item569aac60e7:g:-NEAAOSwDiBZJ40p i make my own cables and buy these http://www.ebay.com/itm/6pin-PCI-E-Express-USB3-0-1x-to-16x-Extender-Riser-Card-Adapter-SATA-Power-Cable-/322579370223?hash=item4b1b3a90ef:g:aDIAAOSwKRJZbLVH PCI-E-Express  Riser Cards and plug it all into a 2400 watt Server PSU . I don't use these anymore after i found out plugging it All into the Server pSU is safer and i can .   http://www.ebay.com/itm/18AWG-CPU-8pin-to-2x-6-2-pin-6-pin-8-pin-Power-Splitter-Cable-PCIE-PCI-Express-/362079822992?hash=item544da3a490:g:X3wAAOSw0ThZnZc~  or any cables that share power form the video card or the Riser card and plug it all direct into the Server PSU ... no in between cables ....all plugs have there own power.

You can buy the PicoPSU kitts here in the US if you don't want to make your own cables http://www.parallelminer.com/product-tag/atx-power-adapter/

Some like me I believe rent to add to there farm to get that little bit they need to reach a point atm ..other wise I have wondered the same thing my self ....I don't see how anyone but the seller would profit ......

an I guess if you buy a lot of hash then solo mine and hope you hit that block ....(gambling and hopping)..... you said it.

All the hard core miners on the forums either have there own setup or host there gear some place or buy cloud mining, i have yet to see a hard core miner rent to much for to long but only as they need to ...

can we still do a manual install i installed the DEV version using the Ubuntu.sh script , it worked great I'm on the DEV version 8 now it seems fine or I like how it works ... why i ask is i like UBUNTU more .....an most of my PI's are not RPI.

cya

PS:
to anyone that is using Ubuntu 16 with minera 7 now upgrading won't be a issue because your all ready @ php7.0  you can't install  minera 7 on ubuntu 16 with out editing some files so the minera install.Sh script installs minera 7 on 16 ubuntu with php7.0. but like Mich said that's up to you .

Me i all ways do a clean install of everything when a new version comes out of any major software with a new OS ..

I am, did you turn on miner mode in the bios and you might even have to plug power to the board even with raisers ..... and update the bios if it's this one https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138456&cm_re=BIOSTAR_TB350-BTC_AM4_AMD_B350_SATA_6Gb%2fs_USB_3.1-_-13-138-456-_-Product

an like R0mi said windows 10 is more stable an i took it a step further an used a custom made install.wim file and using https://www.ntlite.com/ to customize it then winPE installed it with a USB SSD drive or you can deploy that over your  network to your rigs.

was it ok to download the minera-developing version testing it now . I got it to install .

works good no bugs so far my A6 seems to run better i don't use the soft ware avalon gave us at all , i like how they don't force us yet to use just there software and controller like bitmain and Innosilicon does with there miner and i think Innosilicon never use to till there A4 Dominator .... i have one and gonna buy one of the orange pi one controllers sense they stuck me with a old out dated RPI b the first one which a lot of others got that can't be updated... i guess they had old stock they needed to move so they stuck  a few of us with that RPI and gave everyone else  the orange pi one which do run the miners better . I might be able to install minera on one sense they use a OPENWRT type ui on a Ubuntu/Raspbian type OS an not a full openwrt OS .

392  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help building Rpi with Avalon openwrt image on: August 25, 2017, 05:51:32 AM
This might be why : to be honest I have never run into that issue, kind of why i didn't say anything ... so i did a search below might be why......

https://forum.armbian.com/index.php?/announcement/1-1-check-power-supply-check-sd-card-and-check-other-people-experiences/

and the images off Avalon site have the IP set to 192.168.0.100

you have to set the network card on the PC your trying to access the controller on, to 192.168.0.1 hit the second line on your networks card UI after you set the ip don't worry about setting up the other lines just the first two lines.. then hit ok  then go to any Internet Browser an type 192.168.0.100 and change in network setting in the Avalon ui you see not the openwrt you might normally see .  change that to 192.168.1.100 notice the red 1 that's kind of a big deal from 0 to 1 then reset your network card back by setting it back to defaults then go to any  Internet Browser an type 192.168.1.100 that should do it, can't say other wise .

having the wrong ip might be why it seem to not load right.

I do have some ideas around supporting both 1 month and 1 year subscriptions, but then having the 1 month version a little more expensive. So if you pay per year, it becomes $4 per month while if you pay per month it will be $5 per month (example prices).

Usually doing the month to month cost more at least any place i do it at it does, like  wow aka world of Warcraft game 14.99 month to month, it can go as low as 12.99 month buying  long term time , Amazon prime 10.99 a month if you buy the year you save 13.00. etc ... the only place I think it didn't matter was renting MS office it was 9.99 a month and forget what a year, there was no discount with MS buying by the year not sure now ....I don't rent it any more, i have no use for it atm. if i ever do I'll buy the download for three PC it's cheaper if you buy the OEM download code off one of the cheap legit software site an there is lots of them  that are actlly legal.

Again just more feed back not complaining ....

394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: August 24, 2017, 09:08:18 PM
Seems the MSIAfterburneragent is not auto-started by AwesomeMiner in 3.2.6 version.    I believe this used to work (not sure now) in past version.    My Awesome miner remote agent starting up fine on all 3 of my miners but all 3 now no longer auto start the MSI afterburner agent.  I have confirmed under Options the command line to executable.   Once I manually start up MSI afterburner agent on each node, my Awesomeminer can manage the MSI afterburner settings through the console.

Is this known problem with 3.2.6 beta release?
There are no changes to Afterburner autostart in any of the development versions. Can you clear the settings in the Options dialog, MSI Afterburner section, for:
Auto start path
Username
Password
Then click OK. Then you go back and fill in those 3 fields again. Are the settings applied?

Did not fix the issue.  I now have 4 miners all running AwesomeMiner agent but this Afterburner Remote Agent is not auto starting on any of the 4 miners.   Again i have confirmed the command line points to the correct .exe and directory, the security key is correct and port is correct.   I can confirm that manually making changes in Awesome Miner console to GPU settings does work--they do update to each remote miner so the communications are working, just not the autostart of the MSIafterburnerremoteagent itself.    I tried adding MSIafterburner remote agent to my shell:startup in Windows but for some reason this doesn't actually run/start the remote agent (other items in my shell:startup directory start up automatically).

just making sure are you using this http://download.cnet.com/MSI-Afterburner-Remote-Server/3000-20432_4-75871627.html  an not this http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html which comes with After burner I'm not trying to insult you either .. i made the mistake of thinking rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server was it till I remembered using the Afterburner-Remote-Server a long time ago ...

few other things make sure afterburner it self is running on each PC with all voltage setting in MSI after burner enabled on each rig and after burner is loaded or it may not auto load or even work, all but force constant voltage unless you want to use that it's not needed . an you have the right path were it is on each RIG an on the main PC  use the same path and password for all the rigs. make sure remote desktop is on with the right password on all the rigs an it allows access something like this on each rig

other wise GL not trying to insult you, trying to help.

the cloud service Price seems reason able but for a year not sure if i want to comment to a year .. if you go month to month. i know i will or even 3 month, but it's cool I understand an this is not a complaint just honest Feedback . so for now ill hold off on even trying it for 30 days an wait and see what others say and what happens .

mine run close to 75 % ... I never hear the fans on the PSU the fan form either the Rigs or Script miner i hear and the PSU seems to stay cool or like they should .

kind of why I own three I usually go over kill and set a max for me then start with a new one ..

I use one with  a ASICs Script miner that pulls about 1600 watts with five boards ..

O forgot i don't use PCI Express Power Splitter Cable on the GPU rigs any more i plug it all into the PSU break board including the Motherboard .

398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining cables, router suggestions? on: August 22, 2017, 05:41:48 PM
cat 5 or 6 is good and you only need a 10/100 Switch unless you have other uses and need a 10/100/1000 switch, most brand new routers these day are 10/100/1000 or gigabyte routers . meaning they can run up to 1000 GB over the net . but for mining you really don't need that much speed yet. 100 MB is fine even 10 MB might be doable .  and i would use Cat 6 the price is about the same as cat 5 and are better .

I use this Switch https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AX8XHRQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but i use it becasue i have other uses it being in my home and on my ISP i need it for the speed in my home network it's faster at moving files around and it doesn't seems to affect my miners.

have you tired to run the ones in question one with one rpi ?. just them by there self ?. make sure the usb converters lites are flashing as well as in the back of the miner an are good and plugged in good . move the usb cable to see if the light changes color or flashes different.

what PSU are you using ?.  an they did run good at one time ?. do you remember what may have happen when they started under hashing ?the fans do spin up @ start up ? if worse come to worse talk to lightfoot on the forums he may be able to repair them if they some how became DMG., hes seems like a good guy an is reason able price wise.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon
Look at this link there might be some thing there to help you and with what each error means that  fanatic26 is talking about there is another link to put in the error code that will tell you what it might be. sorry i no longer have that link my miner hashes like it should after i hocked it up to a 2400 watt Server PSU .

you can ask canaan they may give you some help but unless you bought form them direct you may not get much help but they will help you if you bought from them direct. not sure though if they will any more for the A6 .I know they won't for there A4 .which i still have a working one i don't use not worth it any more unless BTC jump to 20 k a pop ... in fact they sent me a free inside controller one time for my A6 which i fucked up by mistake and ended up buying one off of sidehack on the forums who is also good at what he does.

other then that i have run out ideas with out having the miners in front of me which to be very honest i don't want unless there mine my repair days are over unless there mine .. i wish i could have fixed it over the forums but still ask for help if you need it, if i know I'll share it. some others might as well..
