381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 15, 2021, 06:53:16 AM
The latest creator update from Twitch says,

Quote
"To prevent harm and scams created by questionable gambling services that sponsor content on Twitch, we will prohibit sharing links and/or referral codes to sites that offer slots, roulette, or dice games,”

Now streamers have time till 17th August to remove any such contents from their videos.

News ref: https://dotesports.com/streaming/news/twitch-introduces-restrictions-on-gambling-related-links

Do you foresee any Impact on crypto gambling?
I don't think this will have a big impact on crypto gambling because it's just a way for twitch to protect its users and streamers from scam gambling platforms. As we all know, there are a lot of phony online platforms out there, so this is just a way for twitch to protect its users and streamers.

Gamblers on streaming platforms make up a small percentage of the audience because the majority of them are there for the content or to witness outstanding gameplay, not to gamble.

I'm a Twitch streamer and a supporter of my favorite and popular streamers; my personal objective is to watch them play, and I believe my other Twitch buddies have the same aim.

384  Other / Off-topic / Re: Slapping Tournament on: August 09, 2021, 11:41:40 PM
As I said before, there are those who see much more brutality in boxing than in slappping, but I add to your opinion that this is a competition modality that has no technique and doesn't develop anything in the participants except brutality and a swollen face.

But... as I said, bizarre sports abound and this should probably gain more and more highlights.
Just out of curiosity, is there already a bookmaker for this?
This is exactly the point that came to my mind just minutes into reading the replies thus far. Slapping for a sport has got no skill about it except that, you just end up hurting someone's face so badly by a mare swinging of the hands with a high velocity. That's just it and I don't see any skill either in gaming a slap. All that is to know about it is, if your able to manage the pain or not.
When it comes to boxing, you see a lot of skill there. From the approach, foot work, finding the right angle for an attack, countering an offensive from a defensive side, the endurance round and many others. You can learn a thing or 2 from the boxing as a sport but when it comes to slapping, I really can't say.
That's exactly what I'm thinking. To win the game, you must only build your endurance or stamina, not your skill. It does not require skills or extensive training to win a fight; anyone can participate if they can handle the impact of a slap or can slap extremely hard. That's why it's not being recognize in some as a sports because how does this thing will become a sport in the first place? no reason at all.
385  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial freedom and success comes from knowledge on: August 09, 2021, 11:29:47 PM
Knowledge is always the best thing, it helps you make money in any field, including in society or in the crypto world.  So we come here to learn, experience greater and greater knowledge.  You have one more springboard for survival, money, freedom and wealth.  Rich without knowledge?  no, it's not your own bravery.  No one is born rich or they are the luckiest people in the world by birth.
It is one of the most valuable things in the world that we should value more because knowledge is the superior that we should value more. We need knowledge to sustain ourselves and make money in this world, and we can use knowledge to be successful and achieve our goals. If you are not fortunate enough to be born with wealth, it is a long process to achieve financial freedom; therefore, gaining knowledge is the most practical thing that most of us are doing to have a path to our goal.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is not easy to make money in cryptocurrency on: August 09, 2021, 07:26:26 PM
Believe me my friend, anywhere in the world, it is not easy to make money. If you see any airdrop that promises 100$, 200$, 300$, 500$ and above just for referring peeps, or sharing post online, then it is atmost 99% fraudulent.

Likewise, if you see trade signals that promises certainty, or bounties that promises you a fixed price for your token, be wary. It is not that easy nor realistic.
Then why would you spend time on giveaways? I think if you've invested your own money in potential coins then maybe you're already gaining a huge profit by now. It's not that easy especially if you're only relying to free cryptos in online, just gonna waste your time promoting the project but can't get any bounties. There's  a lot of ways to earn or gain in cryptocurrency, maybe you're just in a wrong way of earning.
387  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why buy bitcoins and not altcoins? on: August 09, 2021, 06:35:02 PM
Of course, bitcoin is the most secure and promising cryptocurrency; you'll suggest the easiest cryptocurrency to analyze because we can use previous charts and there are many experts who can provide signals on when to buy or sell. In comparison to altcoins and bitcoin, there are many investors in bitcoin and likely a lot of TA that can be seen on various platforms. There are some altcoins that have a high risk but high reward, and they are not recommended for newbies because a simple mistake could result in the loss of your investments.

The simplest answer to your question is, bitcoin is unique and safe. It's the original.
388  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me differentiate this thought, teach a man how to fish or give him Bitcoin. on: August 09, 2021, 06:13:55 PM
Better to teach him how to fish than give him a free bitcoin. For a crypto investor, bitcoin is very valuable even the price market right now is very low due to market crash, you still see the potential and the future value of bitcoin. Do you think you'd have the same reaction if you gave someone a bitcoin? Of course, he'll act irresponsibly, such as selling due to a lack of knowledge when market occurs.

If you teach someone how to learn crypto and how to earn more, he will have the same perspective as an investor, who can see the potential of crypto and will make sensible market decisions.

It's not easy to handle a thing like crypto; people thought it was, but it's not, so let's always teach each other about crypto and remind them to DYOR and be mindful as much as possible.\
My friends are giving some cryptos to my other friends, but first, they want to make sure they understand how crypto works.
389  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you making money online? on: August 09, 2021, 05:48:25 PM
I don't have any online works aside from joining a bounty and trading just to earn money to support my family this difficult time of covid-19 pandemic. I'm lucky that there is a digital currency that we can use to earn because if not, I don't know what kind of online job I'm doing right now. In crypto, I am enjoying while stay at home with my children at the same time having an income through this digital currency.
I recommend that you have a real job or any job that will keep you going if you lose your crypto investments or there is a crypto crash. It's difficult, in my opinion, to rely on cryptocurrency, especially if it's the only source of income for your family. Good job on being responsible, but make sure to secure those funds; anything can happen and you could lose them instantly; at the very least, you have a backup plan for getting money.

There are plenty of jobs available; look for other sources of income because we're in the same boat; I don't have family, but I don't rely on crypto too heavily; I still need other sources of income so that I can become financially stable soon.
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google starts accepting Bitcoin ads on: August 09, 2021, 05:16:02 PM
Nice! For me, it's huge news that a giant company is now accepting cryptocurrency ads because there are so many Google users, and I believe it will be a huge growth for the community if they allow this type of ads. Google is a major platform with billions of users every day; I hope that one day, most people will accept cryptocurrency in their lives.

But one of the disadvantages is some people will try to promote scams but I hope that Google will try to access things if they're legitimate before allowing the ad to go in public.
Pero para sa akin it is good news that they are considering such move sana nga dumami pa lalo ang mga coins na dapat idagdag.
392  Local / Pamilihan / Re: GCash is planning to add cryptocurrencies! on: August 09, 2021, 04:15:14 PM

Ok na rin yan, it opens up a competition against coins.ph. Talunin na lang nila sa rates.

Pero ako, no for me in terms of crypto. I will use Gcash as it is. More on another option na lang iyong crypto features niya.

393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling becomes popular on: August 09, 2021, 03:09:05 PM
The reason why online gambling has become so popular is that now everyone is avoiding contact with one another for the corona virus. No one is participating in the physical casino everyone is participating in casino games from home to prevent the spread of the virus everyone is thinking about protecting their health. Another advantage of online gambling is that there is no legal action everyone participates in the game as their own independent this is a great way to play casino.

now a thing to consider is,
after countries start to open up again and lockdowns end, which is already happening, this popularity of online gambling will remain? websites will still see growth? or it'll be the other way around?

curious about this.
Why do I believe it will continue to exist? Because some people have already invested a lot of money in online gambling platforms and have a lot of benefits when playing, I doubt that it will slow the growth of online gambling. Many people still value the use of online gambling; if it becomes more popular, more people will try it because it is more convenient than going to a casino.

For short, online gambling will be normalized and users will remain and more will come if other people discover this.
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler? on: August 09, 2021, 12:08:00 PM
The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler?

Remember only idiot take high risk to get high reward.
if you don't consider your self as an idiot then never gamble lol, because gambling is place where people wanted to risk to earn big and that is reality , if you don't know that then you know nothing about gambling that's it.
And I think its not wrong to try your luck in gambling, if you win then great, if you lose then so be it thats the consequences of being a gambler and you should be aware of this kind of scenario. There's no house if there's no gambler but it doesnt mean you're at the wrong position, as long as you enjoy what you do and has a guts to face the risk then you're free to make a choice.
Gambling is mostly a Luck games , there are some who claims that sportsbetting is a gambling form that can use skills and knowledge yet it is still a Luck based game in which you can lose even how hard you try to find who will win.
also why do we gamble? because we want our money to doubled or even much higher.

and why call Idiot the people that take high risk?

maybe he does not remember that the higher you risk is the higher your chance to earn more .

best not to believe what OP mentioned and instead lets think that he is the IDIOT here and not risk takers like us.
There are games that use strategy to win, but there are also luck-based mechanics where cards are dealt to each player. Yes, we can't deny that gambling is a pure-luck game, and we can't predict whether we'll lose or win; we can't decide, and the only thing we can do is bet and wait for the outcome.

People who take high risk aren't idiots; most of them are whales, and the money they're risking is only a small portion of their assets; therefore, don't label them as idiots simply because they're taking high risk. Those who take high risks also receive high rewards; this is a common quote even in real life; why are you unaware of this?
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You got a pifzer ? Then you can be eligible for lottery in Poland. on: August 09, 2021, 10:22:05 AM
Its good to know that the Poland government were sincere to give these prizes for those who get themselves vaccinated.
This is an effective encouragement to people who have doubts because of the side effects that it might cause to their health.
I just hope our government do the same thing as an incentives for people to be protected against the virus while having a chance to get prizes.
I think people more concern with their health after they get vaccinated because until now, many bad news in social media told them that the vaccine can not stop the spread of the virus. The prizes is for attracting them and courage them to follow what their government suggest. Well, we do not know what impact that people will get after they vaccinated as the impact itself will be different from one person with another. But if the vaccine is one thing that the government suggested, maybe people should follow it and get protection from the mutated virus.

The prize money is to attract people to take the vaccine, but the major reason is to get them into this and try to lessen the spread of this virus, we don't know how and until when this virus will evolve as of this moment  another variant is hitting most of the places around the world and the virus is helping plus those safety protocols.

The focus of the government is to convince more from their jurisdiction that this virus is not going disappear right away, it will continue to threat our health better to take side and enhance your chance not to get infected.
Yes, there is a hidden goal here; why would you associate vaccination with gambling if you didn't have an agenda, right? Of course, gambling is one of the simplest ways (if you're lucky) to win a large sum of money, so people will try this lottery because they've already been vaccinated and take note that this is free if got pfizer. This is a wise government strategy for dealing with their people in this current pandemic, to reduce active cases and hold citizens accountable for not spreading the virus everywhere.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling attracted to emotion or luck on: August 09, 2021, 09:49:23 AM
I have noticed that sometimes when I gamble, I used to win unexpectedly even when I never intended to bet. The most shocking thing is that I usually win when my mind is not that prepared to gamble probably jokingly. Anything I'm focused and well prepared I usually lose. I don't know if this is affiliated to luck or just emotions. Does this happens to others?
It's the same thing when you think you're going to win; the outcome will be a huge loss, but it does happen occasionally, so gambling isn't really related or attracted to emotion. If you're unlucky, you'll lose, but if you're not, you'll win; it all depends on the probability or rate of winning, which varies depending on the game.

I think emotions varies if you'll still continue to play even you're losing, more rounds means more chances of getting a loss or a win, always depends.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: August 09, 2021, 08:34:24 AM
This proves that government never care about the people, they only care about how much revenue they make for example smoking is injurious to health but government decided to restrict people from doing it so they increase tax so that no one is going to buy it but surprisingly the cigarette is the world's top selling products in numbers as per the stats so they keep on increasing tax while saying that you should avoid using it.

Smoking, drinking.etc are personal choice and if you are living in a democratic country then there is not much the government can do about it. They can increase the taxes (not to receive more revenue, but to discourage people from indulging in these habits), but that is it. And I disagree with your argument. If profit making was the only concern here, then the government could have legalized cocaine, magic mushrooms, methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl. That would provide them manytimes the profit that they are receiving now.  T
I agree with you, @Sithara007, that taxing habits like smoking and drinking is one of the best ways to limit them. How does a "not-so-supportive government" originate? TBH, if you truly care about our well-being, you should be aware of the other negative effects of those things on us, such as second-hand smoking, which is more dangerous than the user's own smoke. Alcohol causes a person to be violent; there have been numerous studies on this and it can already be proven by simply attending a party and 1 out of 10 can cause harm and violence if drunk, especially if his personality is aggressive. These kinds of things are very dangerous to humans and can affect other people too even they're not the users, physical and mental.

There are many ways to tax, and taxing cigarettes and alcohol is very reasonable for me because I don't smoke because it's bad for our health and not recommended, and those who will be against it are the users.
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFT games also another way to gamble your money? on: August 09, 2021, 07:25:31 AM
Right now there are huge lists of them where you have a choice on whether you buy tokens on their early pre-sales or invest in the game hoping that you will get your ROI as fast as possible but there is no assurance about it. Is this gamble its true sense it has just some part where you need to take the risk but not that low odds where you can get your capital back?

Just like this one - Where the Initial investment is 10$ but if you are lucky enough you can get it after 15 days or a month of continue playing. Of course, you will have an option to further invest in the game where you accelerate the return of your capital but more risk and you need to spend additional money for it.

Splinterlands

ROI in splinterlands is easy to achieve, and I don't consider it gambling based on my experience, because most NFT games guarantee that it will bring your initials, but it depends on how many days, weeks, or months it will take. However, in my experience with Splinterlands, I have already gained 3x 2000 dec in daily quest, which means that I have already gained on that game, and I also have some gold foil cards and epic cards that I have yet to sell because I want to use them as power to rank up in the game. Also, buying NFTs is similar to purchasing a toy or a game and having access to the game and its rewards, so I don't consider it gambling.

NFT games will ensure that your money is returned after many times of playing. IMO, the only gambling here is if the situation becomes shady, such as devs not updating the game or people losing interest in the game, which causes people to dump the coin, there's a risk on that part.

And take note that: When you lose a game in NFT games, you have nothing to lose, so I don't consider it a gambling game because there's no risk included.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: August 09, 2021, 05:17:37 AM

Those who are saying that Manny should retire does not believe Manny will continue to make history, yes, he is old and they are concerned about his age, but look how he fights, he keeps winning even against the young champion in his division, how can yous stop a man from fighting if he feels he can dominate the division?

They have doubts because of old age and years of inactivity compared to a fighter who is very active, very young, and considered to be one of the top fighter in boxing, I also doubt the first time but when I saw his training I come to believe that Manny Pacquiao still has what it takes, we'll see if Pacquiao will again conquer the world.

I think both of them are inactive, they just have 1 fight because of the obvious happenings around us. The advantage of Spence is that he is young and has the height advantage. But Pacquiao can conquer that odds as he has seen a lot of bigger guys and fought them hard. Yeah, Pacquiao is still more hungry and motivated specially that he is once again the underdog in a fight. And I'm sure he is inspired by the boxers of the Philippines in the Olympics winning medals for his country. So just imagine if he wins here, Philippines will have a lot to celebrate this August.
Well, manny Pacquiao is really unexpected, he's always showing good performance that we didn't expect the fight. Both boxers are inactive especially Pacman, except in the current situation which is pandemic, he's also a senator in our country so probably he's busy. I just realized that sports are very active in the Philippines; there are many popular athletes who represent the Philippines, and it makes us very proud. Imagine Pacquiao winning again this August, another celebration, and those who have bet on Pacquiao will undoubtedly have one.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which NFTs are worth the investment? on: August 08, 2021, 11:52:38 PM
I know the NFT market is quite a risky one, as "not all that glitters is gold". Yet, I've seen many people making millions of dollars in an instant by selling highly-demanded NFTs. The NFT hype sparked my curiosity, as I became interested on making money buying and selling digital art, in-game items, paintings, etc. As far as I'm aware, CryptoKitties are one of the best NFT investments you could make right now since they tend to appreciate in value over time. Still, I'm eager to know which other NFTs are worth it as a long term investment.

Any help, suggestions, and/or recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
Right now, try axie infinity! SLP are very cheap, nearly 50% off after reaching the ATH, and there are a lot of players, I believe there are already 1 million and counting. SLPs are being held by a lot of players right now, and some are panic selling, so it's currently on sale, so we should invest in SLP or AXS, both of which have good gaming usecases. But, as always, DYOR so you don't end up regretting your investment.

you can try other NFT assets that is being used in games -- > https://www.techtimes.com/articles/263628/20210801/top-5-nft-games-play-earn-100-day-splinterlands-lost.htm
