1061  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people claim cryptocurrencies aren’t an asset? on: October 04, 2020, 06:13:54 AM
It's clear that they lack knowledge about currency because every currency that exists, physical or digital, is considered as an asset.
Quote
An asset is recognized in the balance sheet when it is probable that the future economic benefits will flow to the entity and the asset has a cost or value that can be measured reliably.
Like what the internet says, it has a cost and it's visible in our eyes that cryptocurrencies have value and many of us already earned profit here through trading and different kind of activities. Even stocks are also asset, if they think stocks as an asset, therefore, cryptocurrency is also an asset unless they doesn't know what's the true definition of asset. There are two kinds of assets: tangible and intagible assets, it's obvious that the intagible are those digital currencies.
1062  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID-19's "New Normal" is Creating Opportunities in Crypto on: October 04, 2020, 04:51:45 AM
Yes, during the lockdown I was thinking, all hope is lost as a graduate, until I began to make online research to discover how cryptocurrency can create employment for unemployed.
There are many opportunities in cryptocurrency which you don't need to pay tax to government befor you can join the platform.
Many people are making money in this lockdown through the knowledge they acquired from blockchain industry.

And how is it exactly that cryptocurrency creates employment for the unemployed? Because I haven't seen anything of the sort, and can't imagine how cryptocurrency actually anything because cryptocurrency doesn't employ anybody the same way a hammer doesn't employ anybody. It's just a tool, but you still need people who create businesses that need the tool in order to create jobs. Cryptocurrency itself is an unproductive asset, it doesn't actually do anything.
Cryptocurrency is unproductive? Man are you kidding me? I mean the whole financial system is now moving to the blockchain technology which if you don't know was introduced by Bitcoins itself.

Jobs have been increasing as new projects are coming to the market every day and there always will be more jobs as more people learn about crypto and blockchain technology. You may want to visit the Altcoin Announcement Section  where you can see how many projects are coming every day and no matter if they are big or small with each project comes new job opportunities and more employment and the best part is that almost all of the jobs are remote so you don't have to move at all during these tough times.

I 100% agree that during the pandemic times, corona has been getting more attention from everyone, be it investors, traders or freelancers.
Yes, it's not a complicated concept. Cryptocurrency is an unproductive asset. You can own it and it doesn't produce income. It doesn't produce jobs. Do you actually not understand this? Any "crypto jobs" that exist were created by people, not the currency. Again, a hammer doesn't create jobs. People create jobs for which you have to use a hammer to complete the job, but that's not the hammer creating the job. Same concept with crypto.

And no, the whole financial system is not moving to the blockchain technology. A tiny fraction of a tiny fraction of 1 percent of the financial system utilizes blockchain, and that's your definition of the "whole financial system?"
Logically, it's true. The cryptocurrency just gives an opportunity for the people and we are the ones who create jobs and earn profit from it. But since it's because of the cryptocurrency why there are many jobs, it's direct proportion to the concept that cryptocurrency gives jobs to people.

Due to that specific thing, they managed to perform that job so basically it's that thing's function to make this job possible.

Agree that the whole financial system isn't fully transitioning to blockchain technology because some still prefer the actual than the digital transaction occurs in the blockchain.
1063  Economy / Economics / Re: Mathematics and economy on: October 04, 2020, 04:10:29 AM
Well, mathematics is one of the keys to the success of the economy because it plays a great part in terms of statistics but I doubt it will be the basis to define what a great economy is. My country already one in an international mathematics competition but still our economy is not that great. I guess countries that have a good manufacturer and the workers have a quality education will be getting more attention than those who are just good in mathematics. In technology development, to make things possible, we need good plans, workers, and tools to make things work, it's divided into different departments.
1064  Economy / Economics / Re: "Humans will not be replaced by robots very soon" --- yeah right !!! on: October 03, 2020, 09:41:52 PM
Of course, it's very impossible in the future that we are being replaced by robots unless humans made things like in the HZD (the game) that automatically creates robots and very strong AI.

Also, it will take a lot of years before it happens because we still lack in other fields.

It's very hard to make a good artificial intelligence that runs and having maintenance by its own system.
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone know a dice game that is actually fair? on: October 03, 2020, 04:04:47 PM
This is the reason why casinos survive in business, they have house edge on their side. You can't expect anything much from dice game. Most reputable casinos here has their provably fair tab if you want to check the fairness of their game. But even if they have this provable fairness, don't expect that your chance of winning is high because it's not. This is luck-based game so it really depends on your luck to win this game.
Well, it's obvious at start that a casino is a business and it makes the owner richer than the gambler. Casino's have tricks on their sleeves and it will be always a business model. We shouldn't expect that we will have winnings because it's always 50-50 and the worst case scenario is you will lose a lot of money. It will be one-sided even if you win a huge pot, there's a percentage of it goes into the owner. All of those earnings and salary of the workers are from the gamblers, that's why some casino house have many luxuries item and display because they're earning hundred thousands per month.
1066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: October 03, 2020, 03:46:35 PM
~snip~

Sad thing about pandemic is that many have now very less money as savings got utilized due to lockdown or businesses not running as it was before but some of them started utilizing this time to do something different. So, one of whom I know is that have started making the masks and selling it and luckily also got tied up with one of the wholesalers, so they are doing good per say rather than just sitting idle and taking stress. It’s trying to make the optimum utilization of this period. There would be few of them who might have stopped gambling for now due to lack of money.

We don't know when the pandemic will be over, while the money we have reduces. What people can do is how they can save the money that they got from doing many things and continue to survive because that will not be easy. Perhaps, many gamblers now realize that they need to search for a job instead of playing gambling, so they stop gambling for a while because there is a more important thing to do in their life.

We hope that pandemic slowly can end, and people will have a better life with new situations and new hope. I am sure that will happen soon. I think people who have addicted to gambling can trying to cure their addiction in this pandemic while they can't go to the offline casino, and they have to survive in the pandemic.
I guess gambling addiction cases become very low since majority of the people right now are affected and because of that, maybe they're looking for a decent job to survive. But since online gambling is mainstream right now, they can possibly get addicted on it.

For sure, the pandemic will stay more longer even we're doing our best to develop our health care system. This case is very serious and should be given a lot of attention because it can be the end of the economy if it still continues.
1067  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless Economy: Is Society ready for transformation? on: October 03, 2020, 02:43:57 PM
It will take a long way in our country as at places even basic facilities may lack . So using digital currency will take long years. Having said that but since now pandemic we will have various changes in system and using fainmay start getting reduce so this give chance of having more of digital payment .
Even in our country, due to this pandemic people start to switch in online payment. We believe that money is one of the most dirty thing here in earth because it goes to different hands and no one washes it so it is not impossible that virus may stick to it and pass it to people. Although online payment is still not possible to everyone because not eveyone knows how to transact online, if there is online payment I am doing it online. I can pay bills even though I did not go out of our house so the easier it is.
Yeah, for online payment only but it's not a key for implementing a cashless society. I mean, it's not enough because it's only for a used payment not in different kinds of transactions, especially on the huge businesses because they prefer actual money than digital money. Therefore, a cashless society is very impossible for now and we still lack different things like a good connection for unlimited access and transactions. Bills aren't safe because of the virus spreading around the world but most of the citizens prefer using this.
1068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Elon Musk fake giveaway. on: October 03, 2020, 01:23:37 PM
All Elon Musk Giveaway are a fake. A few days ago I saw a live broadcast on You Tube with the same scheme. Scammers do not stop creating all these events that harm the crypto spaces. At least we have been able to detect and report them to prevent them from continuing to commit their scams.
You Tube should have taken down those broadcast any of it that are synonymous with scam, I don't know why such is such a live broadcast was even allow by them, I might look real to some newbies and fall for it based on the source of the information, scammers had been devising every available means in scamming people its very unfortunate that crypto is being used to perpetuate this dastardly act.
There are many scammers on the internet, even in popular social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, many people are still getting scammed.

Even they are many awareness posts in the socmed, people are still gullible and trying those free giveaways.

People are targetting these popular platforms because they knew that some aren't knowledgeable about different schemes of scamming. This is a disadvantage
1069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin difficult to understand on: October 03, 2020, 12:47:20 PM
There are many free courses around the internet that you can enroll in to understand bitcoin. Bitcoin isn't that complex and it depends if you are going into the technical aspects of bitcoin such as blockchain or in the market.

Actually, you can search much info about bitcoin here in bitcointalk.org to understand how do the members define it. If you want a precise understanding, search on the internet or watch some discussion about Bitcoin on YouTube because of some of the mare crypto experts.

1072  Economy / Economics / Re: How freelancing websites killed design and developement bussinesses ... on: September 25, 2020, 07:24:31 PM
I think freelancing websites have killed the planning and development business because their skills are very low and there are not any employees within the client market there also are many employees who aren't ready to do as per the client's choice. as long as you're a freelancer but it'll not work if you're a freelancer but no client is hiring you then freelancing isn't for you during this age of data technology everything is moving forward.
If you want to become a freelancer, you need to have skills in a specific field to convince your client that you can work for them. You can give your portfolio to them to see what you already did in the past, which can be a positive point for you. If you search for the website that accepts freelancers, you will find many clients who need help from the freelancer. You don't have to bother with the payment because as long as you can get trust from your client, you will get more clients from them, which means you can increase your payment.
Also, you need a good portfolio because it will convince your next customer or client. It's not just about skills, the customer also needs an assurance that will guarantee the quality work.

The portfolio that you have made will also serve as your ratings. It's just like the same process happening in Upwork, a freelance website. If you have a lot of projects and good ratings, money isn't a problem anymore.
1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has bitcoin done for you? on: September 25, 2020, 06:31:41 PM
I'd say that I am very grateful for the person who introduced this forum and the whole cryptocurrencies. Because of him I able to learn new things that I never known. Because of it I able to experience all the things that I don't think I can pull through without the help of Bitcoin. It serves as my life saver. It helps to fulfill my dreams and more. That is why I am believe that this will also provide me a better future.

Everyone have to appreciate satoshi Nakamoto for the impact created in bitcoin or for descovering of bitcoin, bitcoin is broad and it has been helping society since its existence.
Yeah, I want to give thanks to him for this great opportunity he gave to us not only about income but in the advancement of technology. His blockchain idea changed the world and I know that it has a lot of development. Me as a techy-savy, blockchain serves me well during project studies, it helps me to understand it more and made a different application concepts of it.

That's why I really appreciate cryptocurrency, it's a life changer for me because without it, maybe i'm nothing or can't achieve such things.
1074  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: September 25, 2020, 05:59:25 PM
Maybe for convenience because paper bills can't be easily tracked once received and can easily transfer without any KYC methods. Simple criminals prefer the usual thing because it is a common method especially if it's just a small value. It's easy to spend the money with fiat in the market because only a few people accept cryptocurrency for payment.
I don't think so. Since doing KYC is usually mandatory on any fiat payment system, this will be so easy to track the criminals if they use the fiat. So, they would prefer to use a P2P currency like monero and bitcoin for the transactions. If you visit the darkweb, you will see many drug dealers and the other criminals asks usually for monero and specially bitcoin because of the privacy and none needs to do any kind of KYC for it. Also, using a simple mixer, the transactions will be nearly untraceable.
KYC on cash? I don't think so.  KYC is more mandatory in cryptocurrency, especially in exchanges if the criminals will convert the crypto in fiat.
1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vietnam bursts an illegal casino who used to handle bets worth $3 billions on: September 25, 2020, 05:26:42 PM
I recommend people not to play on only-fiat platforms . I have had a lot of losses in fiat play sites and those platforms neither seem to be as fair as the play with crypto ones . Just my opinion .
Since I knew crypto gambling sites I never played again with Fiat based casino even physically. But some especially old ones prefers the fiat based as they are more familiar with and even there are illegalities that may have in that casino if its run or played online some will not noticed it so its good if the government was able to determines those not registered and I legally operating physically or in online.

That's really existing, there are illegal gambling house where gamblers supports the activities.
They are not concern about anything as long as the sites pay them for their wins they will continue to use the sites,
it's really the government that's needs to step up and bring those sites to be closed, no need to wait for someone
to be scam by those illegal practitioners.
That's the problem, even the government is tolerating those illegal casinos because some higher officials owned those illegal casinos that are operating in the shadows. There are a lot of illegal casinos that exist today, we don't know it because even the police are covering it. It's the same issue with drugs, those who are against the drug lords are also drug lords. Even they implement a nationwide operation of destroying drugs, they can't because they're one of them. If the digital world has a lot of illegal casinos that doesn't have any permit to operation, what more in the actual?
1076  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Panahon Na Nga Ba Maging "Cashless Society" ang Pilipinas? on: September 25, 2020, 05:04:38 PM
Palagay ko kaya na rin naman ng mga Pinoy. For example yung SAP eh puro sa GCash ipinasok ng DSWD last time.
Probably iilan sa atin ay nanghiram pa ng cellphone to receive the ayuda from the government. Hindi lang din naman bills ang binabayaran pag sinabing cashless society, as in lahat ng payments is through online wallet na. Magiging posible lang yun if lahat talaga may access na at yung ISP natin is kaya ng magprovide ng magandang service at mabilis na internet. Even some countries na may kaya ay hindi pa rin naiimplement masyado ang cashless society kasi isang mabigat na pag iimplement ito at hindi basta basta.
1077  Other / Archival / Re: Most popular discord gambling bots on: September 25, 2020, 04:51:56 PM
I'm not surprised that there's a specific bot about gambling that helps you in betting. Most of the bot is built in python, meaning that it's very easy to make as long as you have the idea and concept, Github is always there. I know many users of discord who're making bots for their gaming server and it's very interesting. As long as you have the basic programming language as a foundation, you can easily make this kind of bots.

That's the reason why discord is now being the main channel for some because of its features, everything now became automated.

if you play poker long enough with the same people, you realize after a while that some players always win while others like me just don't know how to really take advantage of the play to last. I generally can kill off a few players so I start quite big, but never really know when to drag things out well enough. Not for me, at least I can admit it:)
Usually the big players in poker tournaments happens to be the same people over and over again, obviously there are times when one lucky person goes very far or even maybe win but if you check tournaments that happens in periods, like weekly or monthly or even yearly you will see the same names over and over again.

The reason for that is exactly what you mentioned, the really good ones knows how to play the table, which means they check the players and not the cards and that is the biggest trick. If you check the players and see what kind of players they are you will end up with learning their own moves and you can use their moves against them. Most big poker players will tell you that what card they have doesn't matter, what card other person has doesn't matter neither, as long as you know them you will come out on top.

Yes, this is what I noticed as well and that's why I don't do poker much except when I'm bored and have money to waste, which isn't often at all these days;)

The last few times I played poker on this forum with others, I saw the same few names finish in all the paid spots. I know I'm not cut for the 3/4 hours to play a game either, impossible with my office connection!
If a player stays long in a room, probably he's in the win streak, it's up to you if you want to learn his strategy or find another room to avoid him.
Those good players are also choosing players, they know how to take advantage of them and earn their money.

1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VR online casino games take gambling to the new level 🚀 on: September 25, 2020, 04:18:49 PM

Only few people can get a hand on this kind of gambling experience. And right now, I don't think it is a profitable business. But for sure, they can always get a market for this, those who are willing to spend their money without worrying how much it would charge them. But not seeing this to be a hit in the next couple of years.
indeed only a few people are still willing to do this gambling but when the gambling place has a very good development to create VR as a gambling method in my opinion it is very interesting and can make many people curious and try to gamble using the latest technology.
All of the interesting things in technology are probably expensive and I doubt that some gamblers will look forward to it. Even professional gamblers still prefer actual gambling than virtual reality gambling and probably it's a short-term business only.

Gambling VR is a new meta in the industry but VR isn't at the peak right now and only a few gamblers will appreciate it. VR business is not that in demand even in the gaming industry, only a few buy VR for it.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: how much knowledge is too much on: September 25, 2020, 03:50:21 PM

But that is if you just want to pass the time and enjoy your bet, there's no need to seriously think which bet will have high probability of winning. But for most sports bettors, the more they know the game, the team, the persons involved, the higher is their chance to pick a good bet. But for others who is just an occasional bettor, just select what your instincts is telling you, no need to overthink about it But let's admit it, even if we are not so serious with our bet, we are hoping that we will win after the game.

Meaning they are mainly relying on luck. This makes sport-betting(specially football betting... which many agree is skill-based) to be luck-based to them and skill-based to those who are successful/good sport-bettors.  Won't be surprised if same thing is obtainable in some or many games we think are luck-based
Well, for me that looks for entertainment and thrill, I'll try to stick on that method where I think and consider those factors that tippytoes mentioned such as information about the team and many more. That's the purpose why I'm playing gambling because I want to experience winning and at the same time entertainment.

Why don't we use our minds and luck to have more chances of winning and not let lose of money due to gambling?
