421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ethics of boxing and gambling on: August 02, 2021, 10:37:39 AM

The only good thing I can think of about these professional
boxers is that they're lucky to be making tons of money out of their passion as a professional athlete.
While most regular people struggle to their day job even If it's against their passion just to put something in the table for their family.
But then again the risk of these contact sports are always high. It could either be a career ending injury or worse death. Well, If there's a huge amount of money in the line they're more than ready for it.
Also, lucky are those successful ones especially when they're offered with partnership from big business names.

And most of those figters/boxers are after to this opportunities, they are willing to take the risk even to the point of losing their lives or to forever take the damages in exchange of big money that awaits them once they've established their names inside this profession.

No doubt even to those beginners, they are all hoping that one day big event will take place and they can change the life of their love ones

using this venue if luck permits them.
But that's life; I believe most athletes who compete in sports tournaments do so for the money and to benefit from their talent because it's the only way they can support their families. So I completely understand why some people participate in dangerous sports like slapping tournaments because they have such a strong desire to survive in this world. Most popular athletes who have achieved success today come from not-so-rich families; they work extremely hard and use this as motivation to compete in every tournament, even if their lives are at stake. Money rules the world, so in order to survive, they must engage in brutal activities.
422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should online gambling companies be responsible for harm related activities? on: August 02, 2021, 07:40:34 AM
I don't think these gambling companies will accept responsibility for those who have spent a lot of time and become addicted to gambling because it's their personal choice and because they lack self-control. If you think logically, gambling companies are supposed to be entertainment; however, some people are taking it seriously in order to earn large sums of money, and it is their fault for having that mindset and not being concerned about their financial situation. Being greedy is a sin; you have a choice from the start and are still dragged by the temptation to win that huge pot; this is not the fault of the companies; it is yours.
423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies ! A wrong (Altcoin) selection would destroy your dream on: August 01, 2021, 11:52:54 PM
If you've hit a shitcoin and the person doesn't know about the pump and dump scheme, his money will be dead, which would really destroy his/her dream. If being practical, you shouldn't convert any of your assets to something new or "looks" profitable because it's not always a win-win situation in cryptocurrency especially in the altcoins, even ETH or BNB can go down 50% like what happened recently. I've noticed that people are easily FOMOd in an altcoin investment, especially in a shitcoin that's been promoted as an x10 gem; he'll lose a lot if whales dump because x2 is enough for them.

Sometimes you have to think like a whale even if you aren't a whale; altcoins are full of whales; continue dumping if they have already profited from that altcoin. I also have an altcoin investment, but it is separate from my BTC investment; I am still holding ADA, which I purchased at a low price, and I am confident that my research will pay off someday. I don't usually invest in an altcoin that is already undergoing a pump because it is too late and I could lose a lot of money in a single mistake.
424  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media's impact to the growth of crypto currency on: August 01, 2021, 11:41:51 PM
In my very opinion and in addition to personal observations and research lately, as far as cryto currency updates, articles and news continue to command a dominant position on social media news feeds I believe that in the future the relationship and the impact of social media on crypto currency can only keep getting better. Although this impact seems to be vice versa.
Yes, it's true, because I've noticed that as long as the community is discussing cryptocurrency on a social media platform, it grows. The two best cryptocurrency social media platforms on the internet are, of course, Twitter and Telegram. People are very active on Twitter, and I'm pretty sure that some crypto users created accounts solely to keep up with the whales in the crypto market, such as Elon Musk, who recently pumped Doge by tweeting and the reason why the BTC market crashed. Social media platforms are one of the main reasons why some shitcoins are still pumping; if the developers know how to market their shitcoin, it will grow many times over. Sometimes, hidden gems are also being discovered through social media platforms so I think it's a great help for crypto community.

Fun fact: Jack Dorsey says bitcoin will be a big part of Twitter’s future
425  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bilyonaryo dahil kay BTC on: August 01, 2021, 11:25:23 PM
Yung mga ganitong cases kasi na kayang mag hold ng matagalan is may pera naman sila in the first place. He mentioned na he's mining kaya siya nakakakuha ng BTC way back 2009 pa and hindi din basta basta ang pagbuo ng mining rigs sa panahing iyan dahil unti lang sila nung time na yan, it means that he has access or knowledge on that part.
426  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin, papalo ba sa $100k ?? on: August 01, 2021, 11:16:32 PM

427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your coin tier list? on: August 01, 2021, 06:31:16 PM
1. BTC
2. ETH
3. ADA
4. BNB
5. SLP
6. AXS
7. MIST
8. CAKE
9. TRX
10. DOT

Here is a list of my coin tiers. I've included some of the most popular NFT coins, such as AXS, SLP, and MIST, because I'm excited about those NFT games and believe they have a lot of potentials. Games are constantly being developed, and updates are constantly being released to keep players interested, especially now that the game is play-2-earn. Because I'm a gamer, the majority of my investments are in NFT games, some of which aren't listed in my coin tier list but I invested on them because I trust the devs that they will give a great game experience because they're a gamer too.

Another thing is, I won't forget about ADA, my top-tier altcoin except for ETH. I've done a lot of effort knowing ADA and I know that someday it'll be super worth it that I've invested money on it.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Dogecoin reach 1$ soon? on: August 01, 2021, 05:50:40 PM
~
I still don't see the potential of dogecoin fly to $1
Elon Musk has tried to make Dogecoin hype again but it doesn't seem to be working anymore

For those whose capital has returned, you should just sell your Dogecoin before the price drops
I'm not sure about the future of meme coins
I've already seen the potential of dogecoin reaching $1.00, but fuds have been created, and Elon Musk is also to blame for the bear market, which is caused by an energy consumption fud. It just needs a lot of pumping, but Dogecoin will still come back and give us a profit soon if we hold it; it's no longer a meme coin because it will have its own usecase. Furthermore, dogecoin is now being used by many merchants, and they accept dogecoin as payment, so the possibility of doge pumping will persist. Huge market activity takes time, and dogecoin has already seen a significant increase in price between January 2021 and April 2021. SpaceX will use Dogecoin on their project and the network will be upgraded, the devs said so idk why we don't see the potential of it to reach 1$.

429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I feel like there is no way to keep up on: August 01, 2021, 05:32:58 PM
It's very stressful to see red percentages in the market, but that's normal; the simple explanation is market volatility, and if you look at the past charts, it'll still recover. You must have faith in the asset in which you have invested; have faith in BTC; he will grow as he deserves.
That's why I've came to the conclusion that I have to risk it and invest more heavily into alt coins. In the hopes doge pumps again. next time if it gets to just 50 cents I'll sell half and convert to bitcoin maybe. same with the others. I mostly am just holding ADA, KSM, XMR, VET. If they can pump up at higher percentages, maybe, I can keep up with the average investor maybe.
Actually, mate, you're on the right track with crypto investments, and you don't need to be concerned about how long it will take to make a profit because the coins you've mentioned have potential. I've done some research, particularly in ADA, and I believe ADA is simply waiting for the BTC price increase to do the same.
430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin an Investment or Payment form? Has it lost its purpose? on: August 01, 2021, 05:18:53 PM
Bitcoin "can" be used in other platforms, which means it can be used as a payment platform, which means it isn't designed for it, but it can be used. So I don't think it's lost its purpose because it still enables peer-to-peer transactions via a decentralized system.

People buy BTC and sell it when they want to take advantage of market change, more likely an investment if we look but the p2p transaction still remains.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bye Bye Bitcoin on: August 01, 2021, 03:58:45 PM
I advise you not to read this type of news on the internet because they will always catch your attention in order to spit some nonsense about bitcoin.  We should read some articles that promote and use crypto in their research because having a use case and developing a technology out of it is a good thing and a boost for the crypto community.

They've been spreading FUD since 2017, and crappy news like this will continue to exist, and I'll just laugh at them for doubting in BTC. Roll Eyes
432  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and happiness. on: August 01, 2021, 10:04:16 AM

What is your opinion on the subject of "money & happiness"?

Interesting study in the OP, but too conventional.

IMO the people who are not happy with nothing won't be happy with everything neither. Yesterday I went for a walk with a friend of mine when suddenly an old indigent with some Gandalf beard appeared on a rusty bike, with his dog running full throttle, and Deep Purple max volume. You can imagine the scene, epic.

I don't think many people on a Ferrari and a bimbo would be much happier than him. Somebody should measure it scientifically but I would be surprised if the man in the expensive car won. Happiness is subjective and with the proper self control I think that you can modulate it, even when consumer society has teached us otherwise for decades.
Because, in reality, we all have different preferences, and each person is unique, there is no such thing as a universal definition of happiness; it is highly subjective. Not everyone needs expensive things to be happy; we all have our own tastes, experiences, and lives; some of us are already content with what we have and can enjoy life with it. We can't really compare each individual's happiness, which is one of the aspects we differ from one another. I want money but money doesn't make happiness, the only reason why I like money is that it's the pathway to reach my true happiness.

434  Economy / Economics / Re: If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, do you still choose fiat currency? on: July 31, 2021, 08:10:05 PM
The current situation is difficult to comprehend but to be practical, I will not use my own cryptocurrency to purchase items because this is the time when you should save more assets due to the bear market. Wait for the market to recover or go on another bull run; if you've used those as payment, you'll be very sorry. Use fiat currency, which is very stable, rather than crypto, which has the potential to grow after many months. Take note that it is the fourth quarter of the year, and there are always two options: either the market will recover or the market will have a bull run for the rest of the year, so it is better to be safe than sorry.

However, if the market is very stable, with no signs of a correction or bear market, I am free to use it as a payment method. And I'm wondering why I would use cryptocurrency when it's stable if fiat is always stable? It makes no sense, so I'll continue to use fiat Tongue
435  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it easier to HODL if you are already rich? on: July 31, 2021, 07:30:52 PM
For someone with let´s say, a net worth of 1M USD or more plus house, hodling 60k until they became 6M would have been not that much of an stress. Do you think it was easier to benefit economically from bitcoin if you were already a bit up in the ladder?
Of course, this is an easy game for them because an ideal investment cost in crypto is just a small amount of money for them, so it makes sense for them to simply hold it until it becomes a million. You don't need to be afraid because it's only a small amount of money and you have plenty of cash in the bank, so being wealthy gives you an advantage in rapidly growing markets like crypto right now. So that's an added benefit, and of course you'll be one of the whales who can influence the market when engaging in a market activity such as selling or buying.

They wouldn't mind if the investment failed because they still have money to invest in the future. Those who already have passive incomes see cryptocurrency investment as a sideline.
436  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin doesn't care about Tesla and Amazon on: July 31, 2021, 07:21:22 PM
The Tesla and Amazon events have a certain impact on Bitcoin. Tesla manipulated the Bitcoin market through his comments. When rumors about Amazon accepting Bitcoin payments appeared, the price of Bitcoin immediately showed an upward trend. They have a lot of influence, their fans will follow what they do, which drives up prices. Bitcoin prices are easily affected by these external factors and change.
I also believe that whales, along with large corporations such as Tesla and Amazon, have a significant impact on cryptocurrency. They have a large percentage of the circulating BTC in the blockchain, so they have the ability to manipulate, as seen recently. Elon Musk has created a ruse that cause a market crash in BTC, resulting in a bear market. These kinds of things should be taken into account because they can have a significant impact on the price of BTC and, of course, other alternative coins.

But if you're asking about BTC relying on them, of course, it's not.

438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH and BSC on: July 26, 2021, 10:59:07 PM
One of the reasons why binance smart chain becomes this big right now is because ethereum gas fee is very high and this force some projects to switch to BSC but what do you think will happen once ethereum gas fee goes lower in near few months? Will BSC faced same fate as binance DEX? Or BSC will remain the better option over ethereum?

as long as the fee from BSC is cheaper or equivalent to Ethereum, then I am sure BSC will still be popular and there are some projects that will still use BSC, because for now BSC project has been very widely used by people and there are several projects that have switched from Ethereum to BSC, so I'm sure BSC will remain a competitor to Ethereum forever.
Many people continue to use BSC since the cost is very low, and many people may trade shitcoins and earn easy x5-10 every day. Trading shitcoins in ETH takes a long time because the network is always busy and the cost is very expensive.

I'm a shitcoin trader, and I consider myself really fortunate that BSC exists in crypto because it allows us to effortlessly trade pump and dump currencies and make more money. Most of today's smart contracts are written in BSC, and the NFTs and Defi that are popular in ETH were established back then, therefore BSC is the most widely utilized right now, in my opinion.
439  Economy / Economics / Re: What kind type of market player you are? on: July 26, 2021, 10:40:52 PM
I switched from being an investor to a trader because I wanted to take advantage of the potential to expand my money, and joining the market craze is one of the simplest methods to do it.

But most of the time, I'm just a simple investor holding my assets; I've been here since 2016 and my portfolio is still doing well, and I'm still waiting for a simple x10 market pump.

To be honest, shifting from an investor to a trader is not easy; you must consider all of the essentials, such as market analysis.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you get mad when the price of your cryptos go higher after you have sold on: July 26, 2021, 06:12:37 PM
No? The essential point is that I've already made a profit and that my investment has already proven to be worthwhile because it was doubled by investing rather than being saved in a bank with a poor annual percentage yield. It's preferable than regret not selling because you were expecting or greedy on the market; sometimes investors' investments are still stuck since they did not take profit. If you're a short-term trader better sell if you've already earned but if you're a long-term trader, I think this isn't a problem to you.
