1361  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Warning: SEC issued a warning against FORSAGE! on: July 09, 2020, 03:48:22 PM

1362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Potential Valorant Esports betting sites on: July 09, 2020, 02:01:58 PM
I really hope this is the case.

It is good that the NBA is canceled since I can save right now some of the money that I should've used to bet if there are games right now. Though my urge to bet is also getting bad so I stick to some online games, usually Dota 2 and CSGO. This game still needs to be developed since there are still a lot of bugs but I do want to bet on it since there are tournaments that happened the past few weeks.

You should check this article for these betting sites where it is available for you to bet on Valorant.

https://topgamersguide.com/best-valorant-betting-sites/

As far as I know, there are a lot of tournaments lined up for this game so I think we should really talk about Tier 1 team and players that we could bet on.

https://liquipedia.net/valorant/Main_Page
I guess you're talking about T1 formerly named as SKT T1 or SK telecom T1.
You can also check TSM, they're great, the meta breakers of valorant and defeated T1 on a recent tournament which is the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Showdown.
T1 compose of pro players that have a lot of experience and already been in CS:GO pro scene. TSM is also the same, but the difference is, they always think up new strategies that no one is familiar with.

https://liquipedia.net/valorant/Team_SoloMid

Some of the betting platforms on the link you shared are crypto-based especially Stake and gg.bet, I'm not familiar with betway.
1363  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: July 09, 2020, 01:14:48 PM
I believe that we can still live without bank. Beause we can see that from our ancestors they didnt use bank and yet they can still survive, as long as we can save money in our own way without using a bank  we can live, people are now using a bank and it seems like bank is now important, but as what i have seen we can still live without bank life will not stop if the bank will be closed.
Without the bank everyone will survive but the problem is, can the money survive without a bank? Here's the point. Their generation is not like us which has the adaptation to use money to buy needs to survive. Even a kid already has plenty to save and the bank is one of the best ways to protect it. When I was a kid, I earned plenty of money during Christmas or birthday, I want to spend it on expensive toys or console so I need to save more. So, my mother used to open a personal bank for me and It's kinda effective since I earned and didn't notice that I already have a lot of money to buy things that I want.

Some can live and some can't without banks, that's the thing here.
The economy will not survive without banks, so it is impossible to live without banks. The banks are the reason why majority of the money is circulating in the economy. Business nowadays are usually taking load with banks because of its advantages, without the money that they borrowed from the banks; for sure they will have a hard time. To expand their business or to cover all of expenses. There are also majority of people who saves money from the banks and they are earning interest rates from it. The bank have major roles in every economies and for sure we cannot live without banks because there will be a economic depression.
Yes, we do really need banks but the question is too general. So the conclusion of this topic is, we can say that some don't really need banks and the majority of us need it. Those people who don't have a lot of money will definitely live without banks but the economy that has a circulation of money and most of the people require it.

People have already explained all of those advantages of banks and some explained that those advantages will not benefit them, so it's a tie.
1364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 09, 2020, 12:56:21 PM

Indeed. They get blinded by the idea of earning a huge amount of money in a short period of time which is totally too good to be true. They easily get swayed by what they see on social media as if everything is real. Even if someone will warn them about investment schemes, they won't learn until they get scammed.

SEC is just doing it right. But it would be better if they will also be active warning people in popular social media platforms because that's where usually people get victimized. Cause personally, I don't think it's enough to reach to other people about this warning.
Once they have earned, they'll completely defend the scam because they were allowed to earn. Even you will give them warnings for so many times, they will defend it until they actually saw the collapsing of that scam.
People who're really in need of money can be easily blinded by money. So the fact that they are earning money through referrals, they will defend it and we can't blame them because they're earning through it. The problem is, they didn't know about cryptocurrency and the first thing that came to them is the networking type of investment. Unlike us, who have proper knowledge about cryptocurrency or any investment that can easily determine if it's a Ponzi. Ponzi scheme nowadays is using cryptocurrency as an asset to attract users.

My neighbor invest in forsage, he is not a crypto enthusiast but like to invest in different platform online which he think is profitable. He often talk to me about forsage and encouraging me to invest as well but I didnt bite his offer specially its an investment that needed to have an invite which I really dont like.

I think people with knowledge about crypto are not affected by this SEC announcement however its different to those unaware of crypto existence. They might really think bad towards crypto and refrain themselves from using/investing since they already see the negative sides even without searching deeply and knowing the facts.
People who knew what crypto is really all about won't be fooled by these scammers. But sadly, those who have been looking for something to earn, they'll bite this scam.
This is what I'm pointing about, if they knew about cryptocurrency and have proper knowledge about it, it's easy to determine scams. They will definitely bite it for thinking that it's an easy money but the one whol benefits a lot on this type of model is those who are on the top and have a lot of referrals.

Warning pa lamang ang binigay nila about using cryptocurrency at mas target ng SEC ang mga unregistered entities na kumakalat through social media platforms at yung may mga "too good to be true" na ROI or return of investments, obviously scam kasi pag sobrang taas. Most likely, karamihan don ay mga ponzi scheme katulad nalang nung recent issue about Forsage and other investment platforms na ginagamit ang cryptocurrency. Actually maraming inaprobahan ang SEC na crypto exchanges dito sa atin so I guess imposibleng i-ban ang cryptocurrency. Hindi naman tayo nakikipagpataasan ng ekonomiya or may ka-trade war katulad ng China at US na maaaring makaapekto ang global hiked ng cryptocurrency sa ating economy.
1366  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Warning: SEC issued a warning against FORSAGE! on: July 09, 2020, 02:23:04 AM

Ang nakakalungkot dito is, maraming Filipino content creators ang gumagawa ng contents about Legit or Scam content tas in the end, ipo-promote lang din ang Forsage for their own good.

1367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your stategy how to grow bitcoin on: July 08, 2020, 11:55:30 PM
There are many ways bitcoin can expand and one of them is to be a long-term investor or trader. I've known a lot of bitcoin users who use these 2 approaches to grow their bitcoin.

To gain more bitcoin you need to be a daily trader. Put half of it in your wallet and trade or spend the other half to double or triple it again if you succeed and double your bitcoin.
I've read some blogs about it growing in bitcoin, and some of it is very practical; https://paxful.com/blog/make-money-with-bitcoin/

1369  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Crypto Jobs 2020 on: July 08, 2020, 11:18:23 PM
These jobs are only applicable in certain countries due to the lack of knowledge of different countries to venture into the Cryptocurrency Industry. Jobs relating to Cryptocurrency or Blockchain Technology would be really helpful if they are backed by the government because it needs to run well for it to help the countries economic status.
Implementation of knowledge about bitcoin is very hard, especially if some people in your country don't have the internet to have access to it. Obviously, jobs that are related in cryptocurrency is not for everyone, most of the programmers or any computer-related course fits in here. Actually jobs on blockchain-based projects aren't permanent, it's temporary. It's similar to those jobs that are for hires like web development or management, and only a few programmers will remain after the development, for the annual maintenance.

So maybe developing internet service on 3rd world countries will definitely help the people to freelance in the Blockchain technology industry, it's a huge opportunity.
1370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 08, 2020, 10:44:40 PM
In these three, Forsage, RCashOnline, and The Saint John of Jerusalem Knights of Malta Foundation of the Philippines, Inc., I'm only familiar with Forsage because my friend asked me about it if it's okay to invest on it. As usual, I don't want to recommend and 3rd party investments that act as networking, or should I say a Ponzi scheme.

There's a lot of YouTube videos created by many Filipino creators about Forsage, https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=forsage
which is very disappointing 'cause instead of investing directly in Ethereum, they're investing to the other platform that requires referral to increase their profit. I watched few videos and some of them aren't a crypto enthusiast to determine if it's a scam or legit, the common contents of those creators are to attract them and promote their own referrals.

I remember the BNL project or Bitrobo where a lot of Filipino invested on it, many scammers are using cryptocurrency now to attract people to invest in their platform.
1371  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - theyoungmillionaire u=1180530 on: July 05, 2020, 10:59:52 PM
Sorry for the super late response, this proof might help this issue.

He messaged and corrected an error in my thread through bitcointalk message and that's the first time I interacted with him in telegram. I don't have old convos, the only convos that left to me is with his new telegram account which is "Hero" and the discord account which is "GCC Hero" (a discord account to manage the discord group of Global Cryptocurrency, you can check the group itself that he's a former member there. https://bit.ly/2C3Octt) Also, I forgot that he's still on my trust list and if that's the issue, I already removed him due to not paying his debt to Direwolfm14. I didn't really focus on the trust thingy, I just put those people who helped and I see as a reputable member. I guess the merits aren't the issue here because as you can see, I did my best using the knowledge and skills that I have on creating those threads in our local board and besides, we have a different style and personality. The year 2018 is really quiet on our grounds and we are the ones who have the drive to improve, have a norm on creating threads, and making the local active, I know a lot that can vouch on this.  and the fact that we can put anyone here, there's nothing wrong with that. Therefore, there's no abuse happened and what brings me here is because many people know me for being active in those years. I'm not a political person (Some of you think DT as power, very political) and I don't have goals for this kind of position, meaning that I don't give a sht about it.

I think I am also a victim, now I really don't know if he fooled me over the things that he said before:
-a businessman
-starting business
-lost btcs during dumped
-the photo of him and with some certain whotheguyis
..
-flights anytime anywhere
(the whole convo has been wiped out by him)
That's what I think, a victim to his actions, to all of us who have interacted with him. Look at me now, being accused of being a TYM's alt.

This is our last conversation and as you can see in the chat, he didn't open the message and already inactive for a long time.

Explanation to the conversation:
He's asking me to create a design for a physical coin since the local board knows me as a graphic designer but I just ignored his message since I'm busy at that time finishing college. So how could you tell me that I bought this account? Well, I admit it that I'm lacking recently, and I don't want to explain the current situation/problem I am facing right now (add the pandemic) 'cause I know you guys don't really care about any personal life, but it is not a good proof tho.

finaleshot2016

The reason why I have an ALT is to contact the campaign manager at that time 'cause I'm very stupid to use that secret question feature. I bought another PC and forgot the password that I have (I'm always using auto login), and I was surprised that he also changed his password. I also have the emails from bitcointalk support for the recovery of my account and proves that I don't have any idea about the secret question and won't change a password without any good reason. So I don't know why tf is TYM having the same day with me of changing a password.
Hi, this is finaleshot2016, I'm sorry for not posting last week because my account was blocked for using the secret question and now I'm currently fixing it.
I'm hoping for your consideration, thanks for understanding!

About coins.ph
You can actually view and read the faqs of coins.ph,
https://support.coins.ph/hc/en-us/articles/360000012161-Which-IDs-are-accepted-for-the-ID-verification-process-
And it is stated there that we need a Valid ID (which is very hard to get especially here in the PH) to be able to transact in coins.ph. Meaning that every BTC address on coins.ph, there's only 1 user and it's validated.

https://support.coins.ph/hc/en-us/articles/115000162741-What-is-Coins-ph-and-how-does-it-work-
And if you don't trust the platform that we're using, it is stated here that;
Quote
Coins.ph is the first virtual currency provider in the Philippines to be licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) with a Virtual Currency Exchange license. Using your wallet, you can easily convert your Pesos into Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, or Ethereum.

I have managed to transact on our local board with a lot of Filipinos and they already know a piece of my personal information that I am not disclosing here. @cryptoaddictchie is one of them, as you can see in his reply..
Hi, @Timelord2067 wanted to help you with your investigation...
I want to help as much as I can because DirewolfM14 also lends me money during the time I'm having financial problems but this is all the info I got about him. If you have a discord app, try to contact some of the admins/moderators in the GCC discord group, it might lead you to the whereabouts of TYM. You also got his coins.ph address, try to contact the customer support and report it to them so he can't use his coins.ph wallet. I hope this information that I've got helps you find the real culprit here.
1372  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19 effect on your country's economy!!! on: July 03, 2020, 10:53:35 PM
Covid-19 pandemic is a huge blow to our economy. All of us from different countries are affected, nothing exempted. In my own country the big effect of this pandemic is unemployment, some of other establishments are closed until now public utility vehicle are still not returning to their trip. Most of the drivers were hungry they even begging for alms on the street. The case continues to increase, but still people need to find income to survive that's why they need to go outside of their house to find money for their families.

That is just the worst right now.

The economy is crumbling down because of the works being shut down. People can't really do anything about it since it is also for their safety. Some can provide for themselves, most can't. That is why the government stepped up for that but still, it is not enough. Right now, economies are slowly healing but still, the cases are still increasing. If we will not be risking ourselves to go to work, we can't provide for our family so we really need to gamble for it. It is also a way to help the country so its two birds in one stone.
The pandemic does still exist so i doubt healing have already began especially on us. Some countries request for a loan and until now, no action seen to support the citizens on our country. There are many people suffer on this health crisis and the effort spent on ECQ was became a waste, it just slowed the economy.
1373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Potential Valorant Esports betting sites on: July 03, 2020, 10:38:50 PM
It will be added if it gets popular like CSGO but we've seen other games fail to rank due to variety of games already out there with the same type. I guess it will be tough to compete against core games that has been out there and manage to gain community and supporters. And depending on demand sports betting site cannot randomly add games without number of people requesting it.
Actually, it's very popular now, the same hype with CS:GO.

Riot is good at advertising their games through cinematics and it's very effective since many Asian people are now playing it. Most of the CS:GO players are from EU and some in NA, while Valorant dominated all of the regions and very popular in streaming platforms like Twitch. Some CS:GO ex-pros are now pro-player again in Valorant like Skadoodle who's a teammate of shroud during CS:GO days in C9.

Well, it is a new game and they really slammed CSGO since they released at the time that SG is still the meta and CSGO pros are so mad about it since teams are spamming this gun. As Valorant release was a success, CSGO nerfed the gun. A streamer said reaction to this is that, "now they will be doing that because of Valorant". Take note though, its been some time before they nerfed the SG.

Another thing is that it is an easier game than CS so people would actually dig this, for the moment.
Yes, I noticed that too.

It's much easier than CS:GO even they have complex mechanics by putting skills on the characters. It's not that really hard to 1-tap the enemy through headshot, you just need an IPS monitor and good mouse for fast reaction. So definitely, it'll be one of those eSports betting that will hit the market and people will like this game and bet on this.

I tried downloading this game last month and I can't really stop playing until now. As you said, you can easily one tap enemies right away especially if you are using the vandal or the phantom. Another thing is that most of the time you don't need to spray so if you are a new player, you don't need to memorize the spray quickly.

Every agents are fun to use but the thing here is that there are still bugs in the game that should be taken care of by the developers. That is important if they will be in the esports.
They lessen the recoil of each gun, spots in some map is easier for a snipe user(Operator).

There's a recent bug on Reyna where she can plant inside the platform. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I8KBMuApVs but it's already fixed.

Anyways, it's a good game, gathering intel at first and then action. In the eSports side, I'm looking forward to the team TSM and T1, I watched their gameplays and it looks promising for them to win the championship. Might look into 'em if someone wants to bet on this game.
1374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Undo button for transactions on: July 03, 2020, 10:17:27 PM
Most of the online wallet nowadays requires a confirmation before proceeding on the transaction. Not only in the bitcoin wallet but some local wallets have also a confirmation feature to avoid mistake transactions. Undo feature might be helpful but it'll lessen the discipline of checking the correct information on every transactions.
Even now that there is no undo button for transactions, a lot of people are still being scammed because they sent their money to a scammer or they sent to a wrong address.
Sending to wrong address doesn't means you got scammed, it's stupidity. That's why it's better to request for both qr code and wallet address of sender when sending a transaction. All you need is two devices, a PC and a mobile phone that you're going to send the coin from.
That's why we shouldn't rush things and do the transactions carefully to avoid problems. There are many of scammers in the digital world, always hesitate to transact with someone we doesn't know personally.

It's a good idea, we really don't know when we will die. I guess I'll save it on a flash drive and keep those on a safety vault.

If someone in my family used that flash drive, there will be a note that will show the step-by-step process of accessing my wallet. Definitely it will gonna be a spoonfeeding note so they can easily access those BTC that I've earned. If they want to continue the legacy in cryptocurrency, I'll definitely create a different note about it.

All of my passwords in certain devices like PC and smartphone are included there but not social media accounts.  Cheesy
1377  Economy / Economics / Re: Current Food Shortage and Economic Decline Caused by Pandemic on: July 03, 2020, 09:17:32 PM
What will be the solution for this?
How we can help our government on this current circumstances?
Following the order of the government to lessen the active cases in your country. But if your government isn't capable on handling such pandemic situations then following them will be useless 'cause it'll lead all of you in more suffering. I have noticed that there are countries like Vietnam and Taiwan who handled the situation outstandingly because their government is very competent.

Does bitcoin or any digital currency could help?
I guess this would help people like us to earn profit through investment but it's very risky.
Digital currency could also help by the implementation of a project that could help our front-liners who keeps looking for the vaccine.

Some of the things that I learned during this time is cooking, did some online classes and work out. Also, slowly but gradually developing the art of playing the casino. This time has given us to explore many things and which way wanted to do and may not be able to do it because of the various reasons.
Yeah, we've learned a lot during the quarantine and this is one of those positive impacts on us. I've learned a lot too especially in content creation, I integrated my learnings in making threads in crypto and in gaming content, and I earned a lot of audience because of that on social media platforms.

We're lucky enough that we have access to the internet so we can easily explore things that we want to pursue while the others are suffering from this health crisis and it's hard for them to take advantage of this long time given to us. Some people can easily sell things online while others can't and still staying on the streets just to sell. So on the other hand of having a positive impact on us, we should always think that it's negative to some people.

So do you guys think it's a good idea to tell his parents about it ? To search of they find some twelve words it's a key to some hisen coins ? Or what do you guys think?
First of all, condolence to you bud and rest in peace to him.

You should tell his parents that he/she has bitcoins stored in his wallet 'cause it might help their family. I don't find any problem with it telling them since Bitcoin isn't a bad thing. If they ask about it, you'll be the one who should be responsible to answer all of those questions since you're the one who will tell about it. I hope you find the keys to his wallet, good luck mate.

So, I made a post about me teaching college students about Bitcoin and it's usage. I asked for  few things that would make up my lesson plans here.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5259038.msg54708539#msg54708539 The positive replies I got was enough for me. So, I came up with these;

1. General introduction to Bitcoin
2. What it is used for
3. Introduction to a forum dedicated for discussion of Bitcoins named Bitcointalk Forum
4. Mining
5. Digital skills
6. Last week would be used for quizzes and setting up Bitcoin accounts and prizes would be won for serious students among them.

Your criticism is a welcome one too. Embarrassed
Nice, can I ask on what course subject will you teach that to your students?

I guess it'll fit on Data communications or Computer programming, you should include Blockchain after the introduction of Bitcoin so they can fully understand it's capabilities when you tackled topic no. 2.

The further discussions should be the last one and change the topic no. 3 as different kinds of wallets in BTC.

Same order but It should also discuss the market, so they can understand how volatile the bitcoin is.
