941  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are using the name of Airdrop to take the wallet's private key. on: November 08, 2020, 05:29:49 PM
I very often encounter and get airdrop email that goes to SPAM Email. This type of scammer trap by using Claim Airdrop has hurt many people and managed to retrieve someone's private key. When you encounter an airdrop that asks for a private key or asks to send funds first, you need to be aware of it, because that is a characteristic of a scammer. Don't be tempted by the amount of airdrop claimed, you must be more vigilant.

Such fake airdrop links are spread by scammers to crypto users using email, twitter, youtube etc. They try to spread these scams using new ways everyday. And they certainly get the victim, because there are lots of crypto users who are so greedy they don’t want to miss any opportunity.

Crypto users who are aware of such scams do not fall into this trap. But the problem is that we have to work to warn new users who are not familiar with these scams.
That's why you shouldn't disclose any information about yourself on the internet especially your email. You'll notice that random messages will pop up on your email and multiple scam giveaways and fake airdrops are in there. I don't know where they got info on our emails, maybe through the newsletter of cryptocurrency. So it's better to be aware always if you're a beginner in the crypto world because many scammers will take your lack of knowledge as an advantage to get their personal desires.

Proper checking of social media accounts, that's one of the basic things that should've done to avoid being scammed. Some are just faking their info so be careful about every message you're receiving, there are a bunch of those in the crypto community.

943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Blockchain a Good Career? on: November 08, 2020, 04:55:01 PM
I think Blockchain development is a good field to specialize into, especially for already existing developers who know how to think algorithmically and in terms of computer programming.
Blockchain is for sure a skill/knowledge for the future. Everybody should know at least the basic things about it, not necessarily the more technical things like how to create one full scale blockchain.
Agree to it, blockchain is a next-gen technology and many businesses are now using it in their system.

Actually, even if you have a small foundation in programming, you can still have a career in it since there are many open sources right now about it. One of my schoolmate's projects is blockchain and I realized that even I can do it.

Blockchain is very high demand right now, I've joined plenty of groups in social media that's related to it and it's really true that they're looking for some people that are capable of developing it. So blockchain is definitely a good career that everyone should look forward to, it's modern technology and I know that a lot are adopting it now.
944  Economy / Economics / Re: Waiters/Waitresses/bellboys etc just lost their jobs on: November 08, 2020, 04:18:51 PM
^ It won't be that fast a robot will be able to take over all human jobs. the ability of robots to do what humans usually do is still imperfect. it would take a few more years of research for robots to perfectly take over human jobs, especially to take over the jobs of waiters/bellboys.
It will be also quite expensive.

As long as using robots in different establishments is not still normalized, then it will be difficult to buy robots to replace humans.

I agree with you that there are plenty of features they should add to robots before they replaced us.

While the robot improves and has developed many sensors, then it'll be costly so complete and automatic robots will take a lot of time before being used in our community.
945  Economy / Economics / Re: Government slowly open the economy, will it make the pandemic worst? on: November 08, 2020, 03:20:42 PM
The government is trying to reopen the economy in a limited portion because of running the economy in a way that can be beneficial for all. Because of the lockdown, many countries reverse getting decreased and if it continue then they will face trouble in near future. That's why the government is trying to reopen but where it reopened it, it makes the people in danger with the affect of the virus.
Most of the people need jobs to survive because in some cases, COVID-19 isn't the only one they're fighting, some of us are also fighting for survival. Reopening the economy means opening job opportunities and it'll benefit those who're in the cycle. The lockdown supposed to be a time for making a health crisis solution for the pandemic, so they can implement those protocols to lessen the increase of the cases in the country when the lockdown was lifted. We all know that lockdown can destroy the economy, we should be functioning even there's a pandemic or else we will be in a huge debt.
946  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: November 08, 2020, 01:12:49 PM
These are my answers. Thanks for letting me participate in this wonderful interview!

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I became interested in cryptocurrency when I'm a student, around 2017. I started at faucets and BTC giveaways 'cause I don't have enough money to invest in it. The reason why I became interested is because of the profit, I saw potential in it as I studied blockchain as one of the applications of programming.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I didn't earn it, I get it through an exchange of alternative coin. It's the time I started to be a bounty hunter and earn profit by doing campaign tasks.

3. How did you get on the forum?
It was recommended on google as I searched more about cryptocurrency and found some threads that talk about bitcoin in the forum. I also have known that I can earn some cryptocurrency in this forum, which is wrong because it results in wrongdoings in the forum.

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Most people still don't have access to the internet that's why it's difficult to implement mass adoption in a country. Here in my country, there are always ISPs service errors, I think it'll be a flaw if we adopt the use of crypto in every payment system. Also, many people still doubt the potential of bitcoin, they are very unsure of its capabilities and still not trust it due to scams that involve bitcoin.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
The one who benefits here is the company itself, it'll help them to increase the users of their gambling platform while the forum increases their members daily, since valuable information and feedback about different gambling platforms are in here.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
It's enough tho, even 1 year of experience can already successfully invest in crypto.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
No, it doesn't harm the forum. Actually, it helps a lot in the forum to avoid spammers in the group. The merit systems were also applied in such campaigns, they require now merits to be able to participate and earn money. The current signature campaigns in btc are well-handed by some of our campaign managers here, and I know that they're trying to do their best to avoid problems.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
Newbie guide I guess? There are a bunch of beginners who don't read newbie guides and keep doing the wrong thing in the forum. They ended up being a shitposter or spammer of the forum.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
Moderators, Campaign Managers and Scam busters. They're the ones who spent a lot of time making the forum better.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I usually trade.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
Big profit is when I particpated an alt campaign, I read their whitepaper and the intention and goal was really good. I spent a lot of time there and invested, after that, the price pumped.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
New-gen was really great.
11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
Of course but it is still hard to trust on the internet, anyone can identify you if they have the ability to do it.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
I don't usually read books or e-books but the last time I read and learn more about cryptocurrency is when I tried Coursera and other learning platforms.
13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
Of course, bitcoin, ethereum and the last is idk, there are many potential coins out there but it's not guaranteed that it will give profit soon.
14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
Hoping for $21k, new ATH please! That's why I keep hodling my coins.

947  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: November 07, 2020, 07:17:41 PM
In my country there are almost no hikes in prices, Indonesia is a rich country in foodstuffs, but Indonesia still imports foodstuffs like sugar and rice, I believe this is politics.
the only problem is that it is difficult to earn income this year, the pandemic has made almost all trading chaotic.
My country increases some of the food price and some are in stable. Most of the countries are importing other products. I don't know why our government doesn't support our local farmers here. If the did support us, probably we will not have price hike in foods.

Most of the businesses are closed and only few actual jobs are available, it's really hard to earn income right now.
948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think is the biggest disadvantage of bitcoin? on: November 07, 2020, 07:07:57 PM
If we say disadvantages, these things affect our ability to use bitcoin right? Then I'm thinking a lot of things about disadvantages of bitcoin. First thing is the high transaction fees, this can't be controlled as we know that bitcoin is decentralized and high fees isn't a user-friendly. Those starters who have small amount of btc is at disadvantage, only few btc will left when converted into fiat. Second thing is the slow transaction process, how will merchants and other business to adapt the use of bitcoin if it has slos confirmation? The last thing is the security, if you don't have any knowledge of using cryptocurrency then your wallet is at risk. The security is mot guaranteed especially when you're using an online wallet.
949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spend or HODL Bitcoin during COVID-19? on: November 06, 2020, 06:54:42 PM
Why would I spend it if the current price is this?  Roll Eyes

Of course, we should HODL our bitcoins right now, there are many speculations that it will reach $20k this year. If you're doubting bitcoin's potential, sell the half and HODL the other half so you won't be disappointed if the btc's price fell down. Bitcoin is still going up even the pandemic right now is getting worst, some of the countries occurred 2nd lockdown while the economy of others is falling down. Bitcoin save me during the pandemic, from $5k to $15k, who wouldn't trust its potential now?
950  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Targets for 2020 on: November 06, 2020, 06:30:00 PM
Well, at first I didn't expect that it will reach 10k$ mark early if we compare the BTC chart in 2017.

But look at the price value right now, it's already in the 15k$ mark, meaning it has potential for a new ATH this year. It already resisted how many times and I guess it's time to surpass the 20k$ this year 2020.

Everything is possible in the crypto market, you can see bitcoin rise to $ 20,000 or return to $ 10,000 in 2020.
Personally, I want bitcoin to rise to $ 20,000 in December 2020, if that happens maybe everyone in the crypto market will have a merry Christmas.
It's a gift for us who have faith and trusting bitcoin from the start!
951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I accept Bitcoin for payments on my online store? on: November 06, 2020, 03:05:01 PM
The more payment methods, the better. Although, I don't think that anyone is going to buy with bitcoin currently. You realize that he/she has to pay product's price + ~$7 in order to get the transaction quickly confirmed. If the fee was much lower I would suggest adding it.
Well, it's not like that. The most commonly used payment method is enough in any existing store. But if it's an international store like he has a lot of customers from different countries then he/she consider adding different payment methods to receive money. I honestly like platforms that have different payment platforms, it makes my life easier when buying stuff online but I will not choose a payment method that has higher fees.

There are always risks like what steam does, they remove the bitcoin payment method since the volatility and high fees of cryptocurrency affects their business.

952  Economy / Economics / Re: Not enough Corona Virus Vaccine until 2024, at earliest on: November 06, 2020, 01:50:42 PM
Still, there has no vaccine for coronavirus and we are living with fear. The economic growth is not satisfactory. We don't know when the vaccine will be created for us to apply, still, it is on trial. So, it can not be said particularly that the vaccine will come today or tomorrow or next week or next month or year. We are expecting to come soon shortly.
I don't think we're leaving in fear right now because jobs continue again and many people are going back to their business. The only difference is some of them are working from home and having online classes. People want to live and they shouldn't be fear on COVID-19, they need money to survive. The vaccine is still not yet guaranteed if it has complete trials, there are still risk to it.

But I'm still hoping that they manage to create a COVID-10 vaccine so the pandemic will stop now.
953  Economy / Economics / Re: I lost my job, how about you guys? on: November 06, 2020, 01:27:14 PM
If you need fiat money try some online freelance sites where you can earn some money for living, as for me I've learned trading crypto and doing ok so far, not worry too much about the job.
Freelance platforms are for those people who have a good portfolio but if you don't have any credentials or experiences, it's hard to earn in freelance. There are plenty of online jobs, just check if they're legit and find assurance that will pay. Trading is pretty hard for those starters, it's not guaranteed to earn a profit on it if you don't have knowledge on it. One mistake can make depress you, all of the money you've invested can become zero if you didn't play it well. So I'm not recommending trading as one of jobs, it's very difficult for starters.
954  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bangko Sental ng Pilipinas on Crypto adoption on: November 04, 2020, 02:01:44 PM
Just an update if ever anyone hasn't read it yet. As I said before (dito sa thread ko: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5265369.0) this is really need more work at talagang hindi mapapadali ang ganitong mga usapin.

https://business.inquirer.net/310205/bsp-says-more-groundwork-needed-before-it-can-issue-digital-currency
I hope they're really studying it well kasi isa rin ako sa mga umaasa na magkaroon pa ng malawakang adoptation ng digital currency dito sa ating bansa but syempre di maiiwasan ang allegations and such once ma-approve ito. We should conduct more seminars and teachings regarding digital currency especially cryptocurrency to broaden their knowledge para aware sa use nito.

Dapat naman talaga na in pace tayo with technology, kasi ito yung isa sa factor ng pagunlad ng ating ekonomiya.

I think it's not impossible for people to adopt with it, BSP should start it the soonest and everything will follow, the problem is if they will only plan but will not implement it, that's useless, think of this, if other countries made their people adopt with digital currencies, I don't think Filipinos can't do that.
Feel ko naman kayang i-adopt ng mga tao ang ganitong sistema, implementation nalang talaga ang iniintay but I doubt it kasi iba ata ang priority ng government ngayon. Lahat naman tayo may gadgets, considered as necessities na kasi 'to para sa communication and karamihan ay may access sa internet. Dapat hikayatin nila na pagandahin ang services ng existing ISP which is sa tingin ko naman ay mangyayari dahil hindi na duopoly once dumating na ang 2 new ISP dito sa ating bansa. Ang iniintay nalang talaga na aksyon ay ang sa government if they will still continue this or mananatiling pag-aaral nalang talaga at hindi mabigyan pansin. Naniniwala ako na kaya naman talaga natin, nakikipagsabayan tayo sa iba't ibang liga even here in the community of cryptocurrency, marami tayong may alam about dito at pinupush natin ang sarili natin to use and study it.
955  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Panahon Na Nga Ba Maging "Cashless Society" ang Pilipinas? on: November 04, 2020, 01:26:07 PM
Ang aking naiisip kasi pag sinabing cashless society, most of the transactions talagang digital na, even sa conveniencece stores.

958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spend or HODL Bitcoin during COVID-19? on: November 02, 2020, 06:42:31 PM
Hold bitcoin, of course, the current price is still increasing. It started at 5k USD and now look at the equivalent price, it's 13k USD.

For some investors, they already withdraw it thinking that this might be the peak for 2020 but I'm hoping for a bull run so hodl.
959  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic did push the world towards a more digital age. on: November 02, 2020, 05:08:30 PM
I can say it's true since many online jobs have opened recently and most of us are now working online.

Many people have also invested in digital currencies such as crypto. In education, students are now studying online through zoom, google meet and ms teams.

I can clearly say that during this pandemic we advance our skills in the digital world.
960  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown in Europe can their economy survive this?. on: November 02, 2020, 04:39:59 PM
You know it'll gonna be hard if a 2nd lockdown happened. All of them will start from the bottom again and many businesses will close.

I don't think this second round will be like the first, because people now have the knowledge of preventing themselves from the virus also with the development of a possible vaccine. This will just be for a small time not too long.
Even if they already knew the protocols, there are still many affected during lockdowns. Number one affected during lockdowns are businesses, you will not die in COVID-19 but in hunger.
