401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: June 01, 2018, 03:52:33 PM
whats the timeline on a re-branding, noticed it on coin calendar but it just says Q4 or earlier, any place i can find more information on this?
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: June 01, 2018, 03:48:30 PM
BCC looks really interesting. I like the prospects for the coin going forward. When would be a good time to buy if I were to trade this?

Read this first - https://www.ccn.com/indian-police-investigate-bitconnect-firm-offering-365-yearly-returns-on-bitcoin-investment/ - then borrow as much money as possible from family and friends so to purchase BCC. Dude, you'll be so fuckin rich, Gates and Buffett and Musk and Bezos and Soros and Mercer and Nakamoto will be seeking you out for VC capital. You'll be able to build a 200+ story high-rise in the middle of nowhere and pay Jrevon Tames a million dollars an hour to hourly buff the bathroom floors which nobody will be allowed to use except you when back on terraferma after exploring the galaxy in your personal star ship - USS Investard.

Probably responding too a bot farming sig campaign post there buddy, but we do appreciate your sarcasm  Wink

Heard Carlos was a paid actor, also heard there were several other actors promoting other people ref links (Craig Grant) on youtube.....man the extent people went to to get ref links is insane.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: June 01, 2018, 03:42:55 PM
A glimmer of hope and optimism from this recent article from the Nasdaq, Factom made it to the list as top 20 crypto's to invest in:

https://www.nasdaq.com/article/20-cryptocurrencies-to-bet-the-house-on-cm970332

Note that Tron and Verge were not on the list  Cheesy

That list doesn't include monero or komodo ... not a ģood sign, the author isn't well read on crypto.

Although it wouldn't have surprised me to see Komodo on the list, Monero is doubtful IMO just because its inherently private no matter what. I think in the future monero will become more and more like a stigma especially to reputable investors. Nobody wants to be associated with a coin that could be the pillar of all illicit transactions.

Not saying it wont do well price wise, but thats just my opinion, there are alot of other ones they could have listed, maybe the writer didn't do a ton of research.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Installing MasterNodes on: June 01, 2018, 02:35:32 PM
looks like its a script your trying to run to install it

first i would double check that you have all the dependencies

try just "make" instead of Xiden#make?

are you following a guide, one thing that is helpful is to check other coins guide's, a lot of the time you will learn more about the installation process by seeing how other coins are setup. Good luck

best thing is just to hit up the devs of the project
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Store Cryptocurrencies Safely on: June 01, 2018, 02:11:08 PM
Would just like to add that if you are storing ETH or ERC20 tokens offline just with a private key that it is very insecure to be pasting your private key into MEW or My Crypto.

We have seen with the recent DNS attack on MyEtherWallet that this method can be risky, the best alternative is to get a hardware wallet like trezor or ledger nano that will connect with MEW/Mycrypto and then you sign and send transactions from the device and not pasting any private key into a website.

If you dont have hardware wallet or cant afford one, always make sure that the SSL certificate is valid in the top left of your browser before pasting priv key into mew of mycrypto.

kind of surprised this has been steady despite recent bear market, 70-75ksats seems to be a solid floor

85% block reward to MN though...could be a lot of owners just dumping anything above their 1k bitg....chart really doesn't look that bad, still weary to get in though
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any evidence that suggests this entire “industry” is getting bigger? on: May 31, 2018, 01:59:55 PM
What do you mean by KPI? What is that?

Yes there is a lot less money in the markets then there were 6 months ago, but it makes sense, it's still very much a speculators market.

One thing I have noticed is that real businesses want to use blockchain in a way that doesn't involve a native crypto-currency...for example all of the companies that have joined the BiTA will probably use a standard built on hyperledger.

So Im with you in that what we are all holding now is used for nothing more that payments, and most of the time payments from you to exchange, back to you ect ect....most of crypto right now is vaporware unfortunately. Not one crypto is widely used in business/banking/finance yet.

409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is How Ripple XRP Momentum will Take XRP Price to the Roof on: May 31, 2018, 01:39:29 PM
Disclaimer: I own ZERO ripple and wouldn't be long on it even if did.

But I do believe that Ripple and Stellar are great investments.

One key piece of news lately is that ripple was added to the hyperledger fabric framework, this is huge because I work at a at a very large company that is a member of the BITA organization and I will tell you that when it comes to logistics, they are not building with ethereum, its more hyperledger and R3
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] VIVO - Masternodes, ASIC-Resistant, Secure, High MN Rewards, Decentralized on: May 30, 2018, 03:32:55 PM
Dang Vivo.....masternode down to .08btc, $1.8/day  Shocked

Pretty brutal for the masternode holders, but it seems its been a market wide scenario. So many other masternode coins have followed this same market cycle, gobyte is a good example.

It's crazy how inflated masternode coins have become, seems like there are still several popping up everyday with nothing new just copy paste code with huge premine and crypto bridge listing. Angry
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that Nauticus Coin is scam ? on: May 30, 2018, 03:28:32 PM
They may not be open source for security reasons, hard to imagine its a scam when they already have that beta demo up and going.

If it is a scam its a pretty elaborate one with all the bounty and referral stuff implemented, I don't think it's a scam.

We are going to see many more exchanges coming around like this, offering their own ICO token similar to how binance did. Its good. We desperately need more professional exchanges in crypto.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question for the traders: how do you manage a ROI target if BTC fluctuates? on: May 30, 2018, 03:24:38 PM
Hard to trade altcoins with the goal of increasing $ amount, unless you don't care about the amount of bitcoin you have, I've never cared about dollar amount, only btc amount.

IMO when trading alts you should just be trying to pile up more bitcoin, we are all long on bitcoin anyways.
413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand the cryptocurrency market on: May 29, 2018, 04:30:46 PM
You already have a pretty good understanding from what you have said.

I think it's important to realize that crypto-currency is an emerging new asset class, it's hard to compare it to any existing assets.

Aside from that understanding the crypto markets is a whole different beast, these markets are brutal and are insanely volatile, my best advice would be to not invest anything that you are not willing to look at like a retirement account that you wont touch for years.

Wish you the best of luck, could be a good time to buy by the way, markets have really been dipping hard lately.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOBYTE [GBX] - Masternodes, PoW, Secure, ASIC Resistance, & Decentralized on: May 29, 2018, 02:18:28 PM
damn really wish I bought a masternode this week instead of a few weeks ago lol.

I hope the price goes up soon though, what do you guys think is dropping the price so far? This project seems pretty legit and has good support Smiley

You cant be down that much, imagine if you bought your masternode in January or February  Cry Cry

Just hold and collect those rewards man, hopefully it will bottom out soon
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ¤ DMD Diamond 3.0 | Scarce ¤ Valuable ¤ Secure | PoS 3.0 | Masternodes 65% on: May 29, 2018, 03:29:07 AM
Ya honestly I am not sure why the downward trend with the way staking / masternodes is heading. Each stake generates less and less DMD so eventually we'll bottom out and supply won't be able to keep up with demand. At this point I am surprised there isn't someone eating up all of the DMD. Could be someone manipulating for low cost DMD. Either way, great for me to be able to buy sub $6.

Seems to be an overall market trend, getting pretty bad for almost 95% of all coins/tokens out there, all seem to be bleeding out unfortunately.

Hate to say it but we could see lower lows, especially if bitcoin goes sub 7k, hope that im wrong though Undecided
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Top ten Alts right now on: May 29, 2018, 03:25:36 AM

417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrency Market Loses $42 Billion in 3 Days as Tokens Struggle on: May 25, 2018, 02:40:48 PM
Probably that the bear market is still real and maybe it's time to stop looking at it for a while...there has been soooo much over-exuberance from novice investors in this market over the past 5 months...

So much:

"The bear market is over!"

"Crypto market about to boom again!"

I still can't believe all the new youtubers who came out of nowhere in late 2017 who make these rediculous thumbnail videos shilling their coins, or mis-leading people saying the market will start to go up again on a certain month.

From my experience (4 years in crypto) the summer months are pretty bearish, it may take a long time for the crypto market to start going up again.

When I got into crypto in 2014 we had a 2 year straight bear market...I wouldn't be surprised if we see another one.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Deception & Misdirection by ZEC co. Forking ASIC Resistance Bitmain Antminer Z9 on: May 25, 2018, 02:29:17 PM
If there is ever a competing company to bitmain making similar ASICS, would that lighten all yall's hatred towards bitmain?

It just seems inevitable that eventually most POW coins will be dominated by some form of ASIC....

POS just makes more sense to me but I guess that is a separate debate.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: May 25, 2018, 01:40:35 PM
Hi guys, just been looking at the FCT chart, it's at a pretty good buy point right now, anything coming up apart from the hackathon? Updates etc?

The chart does look really good, it's near lows and there is way more upside potential then downside.

Besides the hackathon, there are now 21 Authority nodes that will be operational in the coming months. These nodes are different then just regular DPOS or masternodes, most of them are small companies and teams of 2-5 people that were hand selected by Factom Inc and the community because of their experience and proposals to better the protocol.

So things could start moving really fast since their are essentially 21 groups of people working to get real world use of the protocol rather than the 1 factom inc company.

This doesn't mean its the best time to buy though, you know how these markets are.....respond to hype and other shit rather than tech. Good luck
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ZEC] ZCASH - All coins are created equal. Discussion Thread (Unofficial) on: May 25, 2018, 01:34:08 PM
( I hold zcash as well as zcoin ) a legal and registered exchange in USA  like Gemini . How was it possible for Gemini to have zcash approved with the scc? Is it possible zcash now isn’t fully private ?

Zcash isn't fully private, there are 2 types of addresses in Zcash, T addresses and Z addresses, T addresses can be viewed on the blockchain and are transparent, the other type (Z addresses) are not view-able on the blockchain and so the funds would then be private.

I think at the moment gemini only has support for the transparent type of addresses. Unlike monero where all transactions are private it's kinda like privacy and anonymity in Zcash is optional. This is probably how they were able to get listed on gemini. Monero supporters cry about it but how can a fully regulated exchange exchange list something that is fully anonymous?

Someone please correct me if my information on the tech is wrong.
