401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [What IF] Part 3 on: October 31, 2019, 05:27:12 AM
I would probably wait it out

If the casino in question doesn't claim back the amount, I think after some time it can be rightfully considered as ours. Really, how do we know it was a mistake on their part? If it is, then they will find out and take it back. If they don't, we can safely assume it is not a mistake, and then we can do with that jackpot what we want. After all, it all turns around luck, doesn't it? So think yourself lucky and be a good samaritan
Depends on how it'll be given, the amount could've been tipped to the wrong user number which ended up on your account. I agree that luck turns around and there's good karma.

I've been in a similar situation once with sportsbet where my winnings was credited twice even though I only had one bet slip. After a day of waiting I reported the mistaken to their support and told me to keep the amount which is nice. Usually bookies doesn't give back anything or at least in my experience whenever you report a mistake that came from their end.

Wow. Yeah that doesn't happen often that a casino site give rewards after their own blunder. And it also doesn't happen often the people do report mistakenly sent credits. The site probably appreciated your honesty dude. Though that case would likely be once in a hundred lol. Casinos take our money and some of them have unreasonable house edge so if it were me, I won't feel guilty not giving them back the winnigs.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 5 Movies Predicted to Win 2020 Oscar for Best Picture on: October 31, 2019, 04:29:09 AM
Well it's hype would probably take Joaquin Phoenix's the Joker to win this time. Or probably close. I've only watched the Irishman and Jojo Rabbit, along with the Joker, and though I agree that they deserve to be considered, the latter movie takes it for me. I'm not sure about Waves and why it's having that much odds going for it. Probably I'll try watching it first and then judge which movie deserves to win more.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 31, 2019, 03:13:21 AM
Golden State Warriors will play against Phoenix Suns in another harf game for the Warriors, the Suns do well this season they even beat the Clippers with Khawi and Williams and they lost their last game against Utah Jazz with 1 point difference, I expect that Phoenix Suns will win this game. I will bet for them to win.
Now that the warriors have already find the way to win, I won't bet against them until they loss another game.
Warriors did not have their first home win yet, so they might have it tonight and -5 is not hard to cover especially if they again explode in the game.
I'm expecting another triple double from Draymond Green if they win this game.

Well I don't think it works that way anymore in the NBA. It's not the GSW with Klay and KD wherein they can win 10 straight games once they're in the groove. And as you've said, even the Clippers, heavily favored as they are, lost to the Suns. The teams at the upper to middle standing are pretty well balanced. The Lakers seem to be picking up pace with AD rampaging but I don't think they're capable of steamrolling through the playoffs.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin's price is disappointing!!! on: October 31, 2019, 01:11:22 AM
Why Altcoin has not been priced where Bitcoin Stable has been in the same place for a long time.

The easiest way to justify that - is by saying this is not a good year for altcoins as the market favors bitcoin more. Bitcoin is currently dominating over 67% of the entire cryptocurrency market capitalization, the entire altcoins market is left with less 34% of the market dominance.

You're only disappointed because you have high expectations, mostly in the short term. The entire market's not been doing good in general for majority of this year and last year but it's improving. Look a little bit forward. Each of these coins will have their time. I bought TRX when everybody thought it was shit already ar 135 sats but now I'm already in profit. That's just how the market goes.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to get back into mining? on: October 31, 2019, 12:33:51 AM
Mining will be more difficult when Halving Bitcoin happens later, because the rewards given will be smaller and the level of difficulty will be even more difficult. Currently mining make many people who stop doing it due to several factors such as not being able to pay for electricity costs, the rewards given are very small, etc.

You have to be looking at a long term deal with mining nowadays. Especially with mining BTC. Yeah the cost may be a bit too high when you mine BTC and a lot of miners have already switched to mining alts instead like ripple and BCH. I personally stopped mining Bitcoin a year back and stuck to just trading. Though I still mine alts. It'll be hard for BTC miners that switched to go back to mining BTC at these conditions.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull run / wishful think ? on: October 30, 2019, 11:10:27 PM
Bull run / wishful think ?

We can hope! Nobody can stop us from hopping! Will it happen or not, time will show. Each side have argument, valid or
not depends from perspective, but sides are holding to them! I decided to trust in my judgment, I saw what both sides have
to say, my decision is final, bull run is coming!
Now people can talk whatever, I made my decision, for better or for worse, I`m here. It will take some time, that will test
our patience, like always the strongest will survive.
Let others do the talking, read what everyone has to say and make your own decision!

In the long run, you'll learn how to keep yourself detached from all these talks of bull runs and FUDs that affect the market. It's always your own decision that matters and as long as you know what you're doing. There hasn't been a major bull run since the 2017 run but that doesn't mean it can't happen again. Bitcoin has seen a big increase ever since dropping to sub 4k. It's not impossible to make a big run, but as always, trust your own research and not others'.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the Faith of Casino business owners? on: October 30, 2019, 09:06:25 PM
I am not a business person but from all I have read, entrepreneurs are always ready for whatever comes their way and in most cases they always forecast what happens even before it happens to them. Casino owners are big time entrepreneurs and scammers at that

I'm curious as to what makes you think so

Does it mean that all big time entrepreneurs are scammers, or only great entrepreneurs among casino owners are scammers? In other words, are casino operators scammers by default unless proven otherwise? I think most of them would honestly and passionately disagree with this view, especially with the part about scammers. Note that I don't say that you are necessarily wrong or anything to that effect, I just want to understand your train of thought, how you came to think that way

Same here. Having house edge doesn't mean you're being scammed by operators of casinos, especially big ones. People are aware of the odds whether they're betting with or against it. I doubt that many people will be in agreement with this dude here. I'm pretty sure that people in countries who doesn't allow gambling will always find ways to do so. Same goes for owners to find ways to reach their gamblers.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: October 30, 2019, 06:22:56 AM
Agreed. Not all games are based on luck there are still who needs a skills and strategy. Poker is the game that could classify as not entirely based on luck and I knew that there are people who used to earn profit through out of it and they can classify as professional gamblers.
I've seen a lot of poker tournament and there are popular poker player in the world that really makes money in this game.
They are not just lucky but they have the skills to make them win consistently, however, there is no guarantee also that you will always have a winning moment, there are moments that you are in a losing streak, and therefore you need to employ the strategy to minimize the risk.

if I am just good in poker, I would still learn how to diversify my investment because relying on poker alone might not be sustainable in the long run.

I'm pretty sure these professional poker players don't rely exclusively on their poker careers. These people earn money probably on certain occassions where they get sponsors for tournaments. Aside from what they get from simply showing up. That's why the bigger your name in poker, the bigger money comes in. These people bank on their names and reputation that they've build up through time. Though I believe gambling is just another means for them to make money. It can't be a bread and butter thing.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celebrities you probably don't know were(are) aggressive gamblers on: October 30, 2019, 05:24:15 AM
Why this is discussing much because they are famous and usually they being role models for the community. Their attitude of being addicted in gambling will also be able to influence the behaviour of their fans become same with those.
That is some bullshit, who considers these celebrities as role models and does anyone follow what they do, people are looking on what shit they will be doing with the kind of money they have a nothing else, if someone is following any celebrity then they are stupid.
But we cannot dismiss the fact that what celebrities do will also be done by many people, including bad things.

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/there-was-a-10-rise-in-suicides-after-the-death-of-robin-williams-2018-02-08
Quote
When people in the public eye take their own life, previous research suggests it can lead to more people to do the same.
A study released in February by researchers at Columbia University said there were 18,690 suicides in the four months after the death of Robin Williams in August 2014, suggesting an excess of 1,841 cases — nearly a 10% increase, based on previous monthly suicide data from 1999 to 2015.

Celebrities are also humans that they can be addicted to gambling and other bad things, but surely there are also those who can get out of their gambing addiction.

Well it's foolish patterning your life from these so called celebrities. I mean, who cares if they're heavy gamblers or not? If you can't control yourself from gambling because you follow a certain hollywood artist's routine, it's your fault and it's your problem. They have lost of money to burn, which sadly, can't be said the same for most of us. I don't find any interest in knowing what these people do in their spare time. They can gamble all their money away for all they want.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Donating the Gambling profits on: October 30, 2019, 04:40:38 AM
With the amount of money I have spent whiles gambling and haven't won any major jackpot,  I am not going to be donating anything to any charitable cause unless I have made a huge profits and to my mind most people view money from gambling as dirty so I doubt any charity will be thrilled to have them.
lol even the church are accepting money as donation from gambling company and from lottery profit from some government so how come that charitable institutions will be thrilled to have them?
This is something new where i dont see any reason for them to refuse out on where those money came from as long its being donated by somebody
then it wont matter on what are the sources of those funds and the thing they do matter the most is on how they would use those funds given.
Helping out the needy does really give out some good feeling and it doesnt really need fro you to win big for you to be able to donate because any small amounts
would do.

Most people are not considering gambling money as dirty, unless it is not sanctioned by government laws. People from the caves can call it dirty money whatever they like. And when donating money you don't have to tell them that it came from gambling. Please make some sense.
I am not one of those who think this way and according to me it is best way to earn money because it gives us chance to earn with enjoyment and I will surely donate some amount to poor and needy people. We only should keep focus on our reason of using gambling than thinking about is it dirty or clean

same here . itll only be dirty or not depending on ones view  . for us , we can freely donate our winnings on gambling but for others if they think thats a sin to do then why not use other form of medium that is not being used in gambling before  but still , donating something whatever source it came from is a hell more better than not giving anything especially on the poor or from the people that needed help the most . and besides will they ever question it ? im pretty sure they wont  .

Well some people justify their gambling by saying they're going to donate their winnings to charity. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that and some may even consider it noble. Though for those gamblers that put in huge amount of money, you'd think that it'll be more productive if they just donate directly to charity right? Huge amounts of money are lost constantly in casinos and online gambling sites. Imagine if those went to institutions that help the needy. Well, it's not our money anyways.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Money is Dirty Money on: October 30, 2019, 02:26:31 AM
In life, I obey a very good rule, when any thing to a certain extent brings benefits, and if there is a lot of it, then it will bring great harm.  It’s like food, for when you need to eat properly for quality life, and when you overeat, it’s to your detriment.  The same is with gambling.  When you play a little, you get pleasure, and when you abuse the excitement, you only bring harm to yourself and your loved ones.
Nice points and comparison seems like you have lots of experience in this matter mate?

Having gambling in life is a privilege but abusing this will bring us misfortune, and why need to become addicted when we have so many things in life to spend our time?

Anyway gambling money wasn’t dirty at all but if you made bad just to play then if turns dirty from that
We all are different and no addicts ever plans to become one when he indulges himself into some activity. It is just the repetition of same actions, brain and body experiencing same changes for long that they make it important for their survival and the persons is tagged as an addict. We humans cannot really control ourselves. I don't consider gambling a good activity and its money does not stay for long.

The only time I consider money as dirty money is if it came from something illegal. Like for example, money laundering or blatant stealing. Most gamblers use their own money with their bets, so I don't find anything wrong with that. The amount that they win or lose is something that only they are accountable for. Unless they're deep in addiction, of course. That's where the problem comes in and the person gets to do things they normally won't even think of doing.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 30, 2019, 01:37:07 AM
Brooklyn Nets - Kyrie Irving can't carry the whole team (even though their 2 losses is just behind by 1, almost a 3-0 good start)

If only Irving nailed buzzer-beater against Timberwolves (he slipped) and almost a win against Grizzlies (they did a buzzer-beater), they should be at 3-0 now and the NBA critics will now say, IRVING IS REALLY GOOD EVEN WITHOUT DURANT. But unfortunately, their team's effort looks like just a waste to others because of that 2 lose and now conclude that Irving can't carry the team. I think those people didn't watch the whole game and just looking at the result.

You can't really expect Kyrie to carry the Nets. He's scoring 50 points dude. The guy's an exceptional player and there will be points in the game where he can make all the difference. The past two games ended up with the brakes not going their way. As you've said, they could've easily gone 3-0 and that's even without KD. One player can only do so much for his team you know.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 7 Days to Vegas - A must see movie for gamblers! Share your thoughts about it. on: October 29, 2019, 09:12:36 PM
Just saw this movie last night and i surprisingly enjoyed it. Somewhat similar to the hangover though a little toned down in comedy. Makes you think about the stakes high rollers play with and how far these people will go when you have millions on the line. Its also nice to know that the idea came from the actor's real life bet. Enjoyable movie and you'll really want to stick around to see how it'll end.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TIPS FOR NEWBIE GAMBLERS ! on: October 29, 2019, 02:17:15 PM
~snip~
1. Do not deposit anything, before your account is not fully verified. Because any bookie will accept your bet without verifying your account, but if you win and request a withdrawal, they will refuse and ask you for verification. You might not pass it for a lot of reasons, like bettors from your country are not allowed to use that bookie, or the documents provided by you are not acceptable e.t.c...
^ Most users will never read the Term of Condition or even the FAQ that's why others end up on this scenario. Well, that is a good tip of you OP and good to see there is a thread like this that makes gamblers to be warned if they do not already know the consequences happen ahead of them. Spending an hour to have a good research before you are going to deposit is worth it, rather than you fall into scam gambling sites. Nevertheless, the most important before you going to gambling is self-control not to become a gambling addiction.

Yeah, though nobody really reads the TCs anyway. I guess everyone knows already that bookies will have all the advatange. You have to learn how to play with them in a way that you don't lose a lot. If you're a newbie in gambling, it's smart to stick to sites that have a good reputation. The internet will give you all the information you'll need when it comes to trusted sites. A little research won't hurt. And a big emphasis on the number 7 tip. For me, it sums up basically what every newbie should understand when they decide to place that first bet.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times have you gone against majority on: October 29, 2019, 12:50:14 PM
It depends on situation,if i am confident in my decision then no matter how many people Against me i will choose my decision. Few days ago in cricket majority people was supporting that match SA but I believe in India and finally I won. So,it’s Doesn't matter what majority people doing,if I am confident in my decision then I will go there.

Well sometimes it's not just about whether you believe in your wager or not. Overwhelming odds usually attract more people betting on one side than the other. Hence the winnings would be considerably  less. There are times when i do bet on the side that has less chances of winning. Upsets can be pretty profitable especially when you bet on sport games. I once won a x10 bet on an nba game betting on the knicks.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your most common superstitions? on: October 29, 2019, 12:01:43 PM
For me, it depends on the person if they believe about the superstitions in gambling. But the common superstitions that I believe is the beginner's luck that I usually try in any games. Also, I believe in that color of the t-shirt that you wear or lucky clothes. The other things are numbers/ lucky number, especially in the lottery, the position that you are sitting, especially in poker/card games. But at the end of the day, it's your beliefs just entertain your self and have fun. Smiley

Just to add, it hugely helps me in gambling whenever I wear my lucky shirt. I mean, I try my best not to gamble whenever I am not wearing it. Last thing, before I gamble I make it sure that before I leave the house, I will toss a coin and the result will become my fate in the next few hours.

I mean, people see superstitions as useless but if it helps the individual calm or support them in making decisions then I would not judge them. At the end of the day, gambling depends on one's luck and people are free to think on what they think will help them win.
I have heard many thing about the lucky shirts that use as superstitious material but tossing a coin!?how was that?never heard of seen such thing though in my local gambling there are some kind of game in which people are tossing 3 coins and if 3 sides comes out then that’s the winner

Here in my place there are too many superstitious belief that in practice but that tossing before going to gambling place is new to me.

Anyway did it brings you winning mostly?or just luck that makes you win?

It's all the same. Lucky shirt, tossing a coin, amulets, routines. Superstition has always been a part of gambling since the outcomes of most these games don't depend on anything but luck. Especially with old school gamblers. Though i don't there's as much superstition in online gambling nowadays. Personally, i'm a skeptic when it comes to these lucky routines and charms.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's worse: cigar addiction or gambling addiction on: October 29, 2019, 10:32:07 AM
Gambling addiction is a real thing. People don't generally give importance to it but it could be much more devastating than any other form of addiction as you tend to lose every wealth you have alongside developing mental problems. Though getting of Gambling problem could be easily done, people learn it the hard way.
Gambling addicts has also sometimes turned to other activities due to their unstable mentality, Las vegas shooting last year was from a gambling addict.
It’s quite unfortunate that gambling addiction is not really taken or seen as a serious crime in our various societies because to me, I don’t think there's any worse crime than this. I had a friend in my university days that was a gambling addict and I learnt from his experience that it is always best to quarantine those suffering from gambling addiction because the damage they end up causing to them self's and their friends and families is worse that a virus.

We didn't take my friends excessive gambling habit seriously until he ended up selling his father house, all his assets and he even went into depression at some point.  It took divine intervention to help him at that point, it was really terrible.

Well if you consider the scale of what's going to be affected, chances are, gambling addicts will affect more people than cigarette addicts. As you've mentioned, some people would resort to stealing just to fund their habits. Whereas cigarette addiction is more on an individual effect, though for me, it's more severe. Addiction to gambling can be removed. And once a person successfully get rid of that, there's a good chance to recovery. Cancer though gives you less chance of getting your life back.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Errol Spence Jr. Vs Manny Pacquiao on: October 29, 2019, 09:38:12 AM
However, if he won and not showing any trauma from that accident, then the fight will go as plan and it will be an exciting match.
The tales of the accident are gruesome, some reports says that he went through the wind shield  Shocked and there is no updated details about his accident and what is present situation is and all that is public is his tweet that none of the bones are broken. Let him recover as it is the most important thing than any sporting event and in the mean time Shawn Porter is calling out Manny Pacquiao, i am waiting to see Manny Pacquiao facing somebody in the near future.

on the other side of the world, Pacquiao's latest video calling out Mayweather  LOL

https://twitter.com/MannyPacquiao/status/1188458056012595201

so everyone wants to fight with Pacqiuao but I guess Pacquiao really wants Mayweather one more time, if Pac can defeat him more then likely he will retire in boxing

That was Jack Ma right? I like Many's sponsor and I think Jack Being the richest in Asia, if I am not mistaken, he can help to give the demand of Mayweather. Since Jack Ma is from China, I also like to see it happen in China so we will see a more transparent decision, US is Floyd's territory, he will not loss as long as those corrupt judges are still with him.

That's right it's Jack Ma, if it's true Pacquiao and Mayweather will fight again this will be an interesting spectacle all over the world, sponsored by Jack Ma from behind and Mayweather with abundant wealth, and many who will bet on this boxing, I'm sure,
But is there any response about Pacquiao's post on Twitter or what was Mayweather's response?

What's funny is, even if these two ever manage to secure a fight, who would seriously think it's going to be as competitive as their previous fights? They get huge money even if they just dance around the ring for 12 rounds. Mayweather's not going to risk getting hurt so his game plan would simply be the same. Pacquiao, even if he won't admit it, won't catch up to mayweather's style. So yeah, with Jack Ma in the picture, it can happen. But don't bet on an exciting, competitive fight between two determined fighters.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to restrain yourself at a small loss and not spend money. on: October 29, 2019, 08:36:55 AM
It often happens that people go out to play a variety of games of chance with a certain amount of money, but in the end they spend everything if they are gone. How to prevent which technique you base yourself on to spend no further. It's hard to just give up, people persistent in gambling that day, so they can't just tell themselves they'll try tomorrow. Why is this difficult? Is it because of greed?
That’s why it’s advisable to bring certain money and no credit cards or anything that can give you access to your money, this is for Live casino

But if you are playing online better have someone beside you either your wife or someone you trusted, let them hold all your resources  and told them never to give you those for a Tim being that you are playing or after the game so you can prevent from spending another amount
This is true, and it is the only possible way to keep ourselves within the limits. My wallet control is in the hands of my girl. She only gives me fund, and the fund is not on my wish. She used to calculate and send very little. Most of the time what I receive is just 10 xrp.

I think that's one of the most effective tip anyone has given so far on this topic, lol. If you're having trouble with controlling gambling urges, bring your wife with you. Women are usually a lot more sound when it comes to spending money and also, it'll be really hard to make them spend more than what they think is enough. That is, if you get them to even allow to gamble in the first place.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the discipline help in gambling? on: October 29, 2019, 07:44:02 AM
aside from setting up some money to gamble , a stong character/gambler should also know how to set his own limits ( e.g set and pick a time of the day to gamble )  . we dont need to loss/big just to make our character improve because we can always improve right at the start but the most common that happen is that many gambler will only adjust once they loss  .  to the last question , i think you already answered it  . that should descipline gambler means .

The question is, does gambling have to do anything yo improve one's self or to practice discipline? I think it should be the other way around. If you're a well disciplined person, then gambling ways and routines shouldn't be a problem at all. Knowing limits and priorities are automatic for a disciplined person and yes, it helps in basically everything including gambling.
